We booked four hotel rooms in Paris for three nights via prestigia for June. The borders are still closed and we are unable to make our trip. Prestigia refuses to provide any form of credit despite the French government citing that all travel and booking agencies are required to provide reservations through September 2020 with a travel voucher to be used within 18 months. Terrible company who is profiteering off of this terrible situation. I will never book with prestigia again.

I sent this correspondence today: it's been 30 days since they said it could take UP TO a month for my refund which is over $1800. They sent an auto response saying customer service is reviewing it…… we will see, I will update my review accordingly.
I requested a refund 30 days ago and still have not received it. I was told by customer service that I would receive the refund within 30 days and that it was already sent to the refund team. See correspondence below…I need this processed today as it is almost 2,000$ and it has been a month.

Kindly note that as mentioned in your cancellation email, refunds can take sometime to reflect into your account and the average waiting period can be up to 1 month from the time it got cancelled.
The reason behind the long waiting period is because we are still facing the enormous scale of the coronavirus outbreak head-on and cancellations are becoming the epicentre of the massive impact on the global economy and the entire travel industry.
As you know our sector was the most affected by the Covid-19 crisis, not only we suffer from the lack of demand but also the cancellation rate that has reached up to 95%, we therefore have faced a situation where our refunds to our customers might takes up to 1 month.

This is hands down the WORST customer service I have ever, ever received. They have essentially stolen nearly $3,000 from us. We were scheduled to travel from NYC to Cancun on March 21,2020 but had to cancel when the US-Mexico border closed and NYC was on lockdown due to COVID-19. We are in the epicenter of the global pandemic and Prestigia prioritizes profits over people. No other travel company is doing this. They told me they reached out to Hotel Xcaret and that the hotel wouldn't honor a cancellation/modification to the reservation. Later I found out from Hotel Xcaret that Prestigia never reached out to them! When I called them out on this, they said "After receiving your request, we had to communicate further with our partner, since your booking was made through a third party. Please bear in mind that we are not allowed to say this, since you booked with Prestigia.com. However, we never confirmed that we have reached out to the hotel, as we continueously kept following up with our partner instead." So... really they're booking through a 4th party? What kind of fraud is this? If you google reviews for this company you'll see many, many instances of them refusing refunds in the midst of covid-19 for FREE CANCELLATION reservations.
I generally hate having to dispute cc transactions because I don't like how it hurts small businesses, but these people shouldn't be allowed to stay in business. They underestimate how long I will spend making sure people know about this; after all, I'm 3 weeks into mandatory quarantine.
I made hotel reservations through Prestigia.com that I was forced to cancel. Prestigia.com had collected the money from my credit card up front and confirmed the reservation as one that could be cancelled for free with a refund issued if cancelled by a designated date and time. They gave a phone number they represented to be manned 24/7. It was not. I cancelled the reservations both on a timely basis by email, which Prestigia conceded was the only mode of communication available because of COVID, but they refused to refund my money. They stated that there were too many cancellations for them to refund, and invoked a "force majeure clause." But I made my reservation when the COVID outbreak was already active and Prestigia was aware of it and issued a refundable res KNOWING THAT THEY DIDN"T INTEND TO HONOR THEIR REFUND OBLIGATIONS. THAT IS FRAUD. And their force majeure clause cannot operate to excuse their refund obligations AS A MATTER OF LAW because it does not specifically mention a pandemic or health emergency as a force majeure event AND the pandemic does not prevent Prestigia from making a refund payment. Economic hardship or inadequate cash flow planning is not impossiblity for purposes of force majeure. THEIR FORCE MAJEURE CLAIMS ARE FRIVOLOUS AND AN ATTEMPT TO JUSTIFY FRAUD. Be watching the Internet for a class action lawsuit against them and those like Kayak that affiliate themselves with Prestigia
The total amount, including VAT etc, should clearly detailed and calculated in the initial offering.
