Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

Bad experience with the Priceline
August 11, 2023

Booked flight/hotel and rental car with the Priceline for my LA trip The rental car provider was ACE, which has no shuttles at the LAX airport. After a couple of hours waiting and wandering in the airport area, ended up to book with the Budget which had frequent shuttle bus for the airlines passengers from LAX airport to the off-site location.
Later on I called the Priceline to refund the payment for the rental car that I initially paid as part of the package. The Priceline customer service simply refused to refund the payment.
Be carful who you should deal with when you are booking with this company.

Awful customer service
August 11, 2023

I rented a car through them, had to cancel. Was informed that I would be able to receive a refund. Priceline denied it. Wouldn't discuss with me. Called them several times. When I finally got connected to someone "higher up" I was left on hold for over an hour with no conversation. This website is a joke and the people working there don't care about you. I didn't even pick up the car and I ordered it the same day. Ridiculous.

Waste of time, money, effort, and Gasoline
August 11, 2023

We set up a car rental for Enterprise through Priceline. Thank GOD we didn't prepay; we would have lost it all. We got to Enterprise and were informed that we would have to pay additional fees for insurance (we already have full coverage on our car, and this covers any rentals) plus an additional deposit, neither of which were listed on Priceline's website. The rental agent waffled on whether the deposit was considered refundable or non-refundable. So we went on our merry way to the second Priceline LIE, er, fiasco: the hotel.

We were supposed to check in between 3 pm and 9 pm at the Sleep Inn in Palatka, Florida on Tuesday Aug 8. When we arrived at around 6 pm, we were told that we would have to pay a deposit on our credit card in the amount of several hundred dollars which might (or, more probably, would NOT) be refunded for a one-night stay. Again, this is not something that was disclosed on the Priceline website. The second issue is that Priceline touted this hotel as "pet friendly" and that our dog would be welcome. When I was checking in, the lady at the counter asked me how many people would be using the room, and I told her two adults and our Basset Hound. She immediately got huffy and told me that animals were most definitely NOT permitted in their establishment. We had paid for the room up front (at Priceline's insistence), and they are now refusing to reply to emails and phone calls. It was only AFTER we made the payment that the disclaimer (image highlighted in blue) was shown that they payment was non-refundable.

If you don't mind throwing money away, go ahead and use Priceline as a booking agent.

No viajen con esta agencia no es recomendable. Pague un paquete de vacaciones para tres personas y cuando llegue al hotel me cobraron por la tercera persona otra vez y Priceline no me ha devuelto el dinero que pague de más. No la recomiendo para nada

Do not travel with this agency is not recommended. I paid for a 3 person vacation package and when I got to the hotel they charged me for the 3rd person again and Priceline has not refunded the money I overpaid. I do not recommend it at all

Too stressful and slow
August 10, 2023

If you want stress-free booking, do NOT use this service. It's ONE DAY before my flight and Priceline still hasn't sent me any tickets! Support is useless and claims they'll be sent 24h before the flight, which is not nearly enough time. It's ridiculous I have to wait until right before my flight before I even have confirmation that I can fly. It's literally the day before but I still have to wait 10 hours until it's exactly 24h before my booking? Talk about last minute...

If anything at all goes wrong, they give you absolutely zero time to figure it out. There's absolutely no reason to be this slow in releasing the tickets to me that I ALREADY PAID FOR. If you can take my money instantly, I should see what I bought instantly too.

Now I'm left sitting around stressed about weather or not I'll ever actually get tickets. And I still don't even know how they'll be sent to me. I'll have hardly any time to figure it out and find a way to print them. It's all just a mess.

Never using Priceline again.

Worst customer service
August 10, 2023

Do not book with Priceline unless you will never need their customer service. If you do, plan on multiple phone calls, long holds, transfers, dishonest representatives and nothing getting done. After canceling a trip, I was sent an email about my credit with a number to call, then called & was told I didn't qualify. After proving my email, they told me I would just get a refund in 5-10 business days. When that didn't happen, they said I couldn't get a refund, then told me I would get a voucher, but I would have to wait 7-10 business days for another rep to call. The just lie & string you along until you give up or your time expires for anything.

Priceline claimed to have lost my cancellation and will not honor the contract that specifically says I had up to 2 days before pickup of my rental to get a full refund.
I cancelled with plenty of time and was waiting for my refund, since it had not been refunded I called and even the supervisor claimed he could not get in my account to authorize the refund

Never use Priceline again.
August 7, 2023

This is the 2nd time using Priceline has resulted in horrible vendor experience and Priceline saying sorry, no refund. 1st was a hotel reservation that the listing completely misrepresented that the hotel had shuttle service at DFW. They did not and suggested I Uber. Priceline refused to negotiate a refund. Had to do it through Chase, which gets 5 stars. 2nd was Ace Car Rental at LAX. Misrepresented airport shuttle, it was 2 buses, with wrong instructions, bad enough but when got to this worst of the worst Ace Car Rental, the did not have car for us, even though paid in full. Priceline said sorry, no refund. Now dealing with Chase again on a chargeback. Priceline used to be good but at least this year, it's down to a 0 rating. Not vetting vendors and not standing behind to protect their customers. Never again Priceline!

A Nightmare Travel Experience
August 6, 2023

Priceline Review:

A Nightmare Travel Experience

My family of five recently had the unfortunate experience of booking our tickets through Priceline, and it turned out to be an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The troubles began when we carefully selected our seats during the booking process, only to find out later that Priceline had failed to secure them in their system. Despite reaching out to them for confirmation, the issue persisted until just two days before our flight when the seats were still missing. Priceline's reassurance was nothing but false hope, and it became clear that they could not deliver on their promises.

As if that wasn't enough, another major issue arose when we contacted Priceline regarding our fifth family member, our child, who had somehow been left off the voucher. Priceline assured us that this wouldn't be a problem, but when we arrived at the hotel, we were shocked to find that our child wasn't on the reservation. The hotel's "solution" was to reverse the voucher and add the third person to our second room, which was completely impractical and inconvenient for our family. The most shocking part was Priceline's refusal to take responsibility for their mistake or offer any meaningful assistance. Instead, they left us to deal with the situation on our own, resulting in an additional out-of-pocket expense of $1300 USD.

Throughout this entire ordeal, dealing with Priceline was an incredibly frustrating and unpleasant experience. Their lack of accountability and failure to address the issues they caused left us feeling like we were on our own to navigate the mess they had created. As a customer, I expected better service and support from a reputable travel booking platform like Priceline, but they fell far short of meeting even the most basic expectations.

In conclusion, I strongly advise others to be cautious when considering Priceline for their travel arrangements. Our family's experience serves as a warning that their customer service and reliability are severely lacking. It's essential to be aware of the potential risks and be prepared to handle any unforeseen problems that may arise if you choose to book through Priceline. Based on our terrible encounter, I cannot recommend using Priceline and would advise exploring alternative options to ensure a smoother and stress-free travel experience for your family.

Scam
August 4, 2023

Priceline is not worth the hassle. I book a king size room because I was coming in very late from FL. With the issues I had I was only going to spend a couple hours in the room for $185. They didn't care that there were issues i had. It was paid in full & that was all they care about. The rate wasn't 70% off as they boast! I was truly disappointed with their lack of concern. I will never use their service again & would not recommend them to family or friends.

PRICELINE SCAMS CANADIANS

I am flying in Canada. My address is Canadian. I am paying with a Canadian credit card, and nowhere on the site does it say anything about American prices until you get your credit card statement. If you are a Canadian, reading this before you purchase your flight. Please do the rest of us a favor and DON'T USE PRICELINE. To the Canadian government, this is the kind of stuff we need to be protected against. PRICELINE is a predator hunting Canadians. I should at least be able to block PRICELINE from offering me services. PRICELINE customer service, by the way, is not in America, but anyway, they told me to contact the airline for a refund. Really, PRICELINE. You're bringing the airline in on the scam with you. You took my money, PRICELINE and I will never forget it.

Just plain dishonest
August 4, 2023

Looked for a rental car for a 2 week trip to Italy and opted to use Priceline. We have used EuropCar in the past and wish I had this time. Agreed to a price (which was not that special) and picked up the car.
The receipt from Avis was $380 more than the price that Priceline said that we were getting. I initially engaged in a chat/text and they indicated that I would not be charged more than my agreed upon price. Then of course they did not honor that. I just do not see the point in using Priceline as opposed to going direct and having some recourse.

Birthday travel
August 4, 2023

I used priceline to book my hotel for my birthday in Vegas. Decided to use expressed deals selected 4 star paid for my hotel then saw what hotel they pick. They picked a 3 star hotel located on a sketchy area of the strip. I tried to cancel and they refused. They even lied about a manager giving me a call back several times.

First time booking with Priceline, I finally booked a VACA package and immediately received an email stating the hotel wasn't available so I called Priceline and was on the phone for 1.5 hrs trying to get another hotel. I suggested canceling the entire reservation to go with Expedia or CostcoTravel but they couldn't do it. The rep was polite but was required to read exclusions/rules, one after another. Never again.

I have used priceline in the past without many issues. This last time I needed to cancel my reservation and their website would not let me cancel. It stated I was not charged so no cancelation. My bank app showed I was charged. I called priceline over and over and was never able to speak to a person. I called the hotel to cancel. They stated they cannot due to ordered through a third party. I then called my bank, explained then disputed the charges. This was all on the same day.
Almost three months later my bank calls me back and states the charges will stand.
They did not listen to this was all brought up on the same day. Prior to the reservation. I will never again use priceline. I am also closing the credit card account with Wells Fargo which I have had for over twenty years. And run $4k to $6k a month on. Both companies are thieves.
