I got a flyer in the mail claiming I could "save" up to $750 a year if I sign up with Progressive so I figured I'd get a quote. The auto quote was a whopping $800 MORE a year than what I pay now with Amica. ALL insurance companies are ripping us off but this is outrages! For the record I have zero claims and zero issues with payments. Pathetic...
We expect our claims adjuster to look out for us. Marcus King promised me he would seek to put fault on the driver who hit my car. He didn't bother to call the witness until a week had passed. It's common knowledge that if there is a witness, the statement must be taken as soon as possible after the incident. The witness softened his story because he didn't want to be called in to testify. Marcus King was just checking the boxes to get this claim off his desktop as soon as possible. My renewal came due a month later. Do you think my rates went up? Of course. If you cannot trust your adjuster, how can you trust the company?

I hate to be trick into things. I left GEICO because Progressive gave me a good deal of $66 a month then pow.! They hit me with $81 for no reason. I also had the drive safe plug into my car. I did everything right now accidents no tickets. I was railroaded into this, I was like to I won't recommend progressive to anyone. And I will start looking for another insurance unless progressive give me my rate back... I can't believe they did this to me in less than 6 months
Progressive insurance just increased my annual auto premium by 30%. Never had an accident, never had a claim, never had any tickets on my license (in over 30 years). I just paid the monthly bill when I realized the increase, so I switched to another insurance and they advised me they can't cancel my policy more than 30 days out, so I have to call back in 1 week to cancel my policy.
Signed up and was quoted a price and then was charged $30/month more. I would say it was pure bait and switch. I was able to cancel it but what a hassle. I don't know if this a normal practice but felt pretty shady. They were given all accurate info from the beginning then charged my card more without explanation.
Auto policy holder for 13 years. Recently notified on the Progressive App that I need to finish enrollment in the Accident Response program by registering my phone number. This is a life saving feature that notifies EMT if you're in a bad accident. Pretty important! There is a glitch when you enter your phone number/security code so you CAN'T finish registering for it. I've made three calls over three weeks and NO ONE seems to be competent or willing to fix the issue!

Progressive is No 1 Crooked Insurance Company in the United States. I had Collision insurance. My car had scratches damage and when I filed claim, I was told by Progressive Reperesentative that there will be multiple claims and each claim will have a $500 deductible. Long story short, my car had $4345. 00 cost of damage and Progressive wanted to pay me only $200.
This is a mickymouse insurance co. Its not real insurance wont cover their drivers beware if you get hit by someone with this insurance. The claims adjuster said that their client has insurance but not coverage, HUH. How do you sell insurance with out coverage progressive? I'll pay for my repairs and report the lady for driving with out insurance but progressive you really surprised me how low you can go and i loved flo.
I purchased a policy from them with an initial monthly premium of 75.02$. After 1 week they reviewed my policy and increased the premium to 88.9$ which they again increased it 98.6$ in the following week. I contacted their customer service provider and asked the reason, and their answer surprised me. I had a new NC license, although I had a three-year SC state license, which they didn't take into consideration. I tried to cancel their premium, and they fined me $269.37, which they sent to the collector. I contacted them several times to resolve the issue and agreed to pay the increased premium without fines but they didn't listened to me.

Progressive just doubled and increased my Policy by 100% and I have a Clean driving record. They told me that the cost of Insuring Californians has doubled to justify their gouging of California Residents. This is Outrageous. I filed a Complaint with the California insurance Commissioner, Ricardo Lara. I hope they come down hard on this Abusive Practice. This is a Class-Action Lawsuit in the making.

Progressive insurance is a scam inusrance company. They will take your money month after month. Then we you have an acutal claim occur such as a windshield crack from a bird strike they will deny your claim and say you are a fraud in order to not repair your vehicle. What is the point of having insurance if they will not ever cover damage on your car. I can imagine if you have an actual collision they told me they would not cover this either that I would have to pay out of pocket for everything. Stay far away from progressive. They are the worst insurance company in the USA. Avoid like the plague.

The worst insurance I have ever had. Talking to them is frustrating and pure waste of time. I filed auto theft claim and I was not helped and denied the claim. The adjusted was not helpful. Every time I asked questions they were not answered. One of my emails got completely ignored. How unprofessional. Every time I call I get bounced around from person to person. They refused to pay the claim but on top of that continued to charge me for a car I do not have. Drivers were added to my policy without any kind of consent and I was charged $725. Then they try to tell you they can't be removed. I have spent hours talking on the phone and sending emails. Finally canceled my policy. Still fighting the claim. All they want is your money.
We had auto insurance with Progressive for 8 days until we found another company that provided the same coverage for $1200 less! So I canceled my Progressive policy and went with the other company. Progressive now is charging a $50 cancellation fee (I guess because they're not competitive) as well as a $5 "Other Fee" (guess this is for the annual office Christmas party). When i called to question the overall bill, I asked them if there were and cancellation or other fees in it (I typically ask questions I already know the answer to). The customer service person said definitely not. So not only are they not competitive, they lie about the specific charges in the bill.
These extra charges amount to pure EXTORTION! If I were to do this to another person, I'd be in jail.

Beware of their $50 cancellation fee as well as another $5 "Other Fee" that no one seems to know what it is. So if you like cancellation and other fees, by all means go to Progressive.com and buy all the insurance you can.
Think twice before getting Auto insurance with this company! They will lie to you! They will tell you to use their "Snap Shot" to save money with your safe driving. They will then raise you rates by 60%. They will argue with you rudely if you try to explain the results of the down loaded information from the snap shot devise! Which were bogus and far from accurate. All the drivers in our home got the same results when we drove the SUV. The safe driver "snap shot" is only for sedans apparently!

I have to say it again, do not agree to Progressives Snapshot. I agreed, and now I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time. I had snapshot for 4 months, in that time I had a couple of hard breaks and one acceleration. At the end of the duration of having snapshot and Progressive collecting data for their research, Progressive informed me that I saved a whopping $40 for the next year. That's a savings of $3.33 a month, thank you so much progressive for the discount.
I hardly drive my vehicle as I walk to work everyday. I can only assume that most of the people who get Snapshot do not get a discount, and if so it is very small. I also have to assume that it could absolutely hurt you and they could possibly charge you more for your car insurance.
Once again people, I have to say no way to the Snapshot if you want my opinion.
The claims process has been horrible the people that hit me did not file a claim so I had to file a claim the claims adjusters did not act swiftly they finally had to threaten the people that hit me they would cancel their insurance if they didn't comply then the adjuster took another week in order use parts unacceptable because I am the person that was hit I wasn't even in the vehicle they were in the tent of driving do not by progressive insurance and hopefully you'll never have to file a claim with them

Well I decided that after 8 months of being with progressive, and being taken to the bank, I then decided to cancel my policy, meanwhile, progressive thought it was a good idea to charge my account 3x the amount, $395.00 totaling over $1000. Unauthorized charges and being notified by my bank, however I do plan to exercise my rights as a customer, after my cancellation I were to receive a refund of $275.39 well out of retaliation progressive is now sending me a bill for $139.00 Not in the state of Minnesota are these behaviors ARENT honorable and I plan to receive my refund if need be through litigation……. Well after canceling my policy, I was later retaliated against by progressive, they charged my account 3x @ $395.00, I also was due a refund of $275.39 however instead of my refund being refunded progressive sent me a bill of $139.00 Retaliation and over charging someone account! Never have I had an encounter like this. I now know that I have rights as a citizen, in the state of Minnesota these behaviors ARENT honorable…… meanwhile I will be following the necessary steps to get my full refund….

GO WITH ANYONE BUT PROGRESSIVE! I have been insured with them for four years; a completely clean driving record, no accidents, no tickets, not as much as an unpaid toll. I have always made my payments on time, and IN ADVANCE! I have not asked a penny from this company. Today I got a letter in the mail saying they were canceling my policy and would not allow me to continue insuring my car through them because I have a Kona. There have been theft issues with this car, but I have taken it to the dealership TWICE for security software updates and a tracking chip to be placed, but Progressive basically told me today it just wasn't worth the "risk" to keep insuring my car. They do not care about you, your family. Save yourself trouble and go with any other insurance company.

Progressive insurance has poor customer service and is hands down the MOST EXPENSIVE insurance out there. (At least for my policies. I had 2.1 motorcycle and 1 motorhome. I have a clean record and I was paying almost $400/mo for the 2 policies for a long time. Then I took my policies to state farm, I git the EXACT same policies on both vehicles and am now paying a total of $82/mo. When I called Progressive to cancel the policies I had to pay another $150 to cancel them. So canceling my rip off policies cost me almost as much as 2 months coverage with a REAL insurance company. Don't waste your money with Progressive unless your record is so bad noone else will cover you.

I have two vehicles. I have two policies with progressive. My commercial policy lapsed. By 2 days. I renewed my policy on June 11th. Today when I went to renew my registration on my commercial vehicle I discovered my driver's license has been suspended for five months. They never even recognized my payment in full for my commercial policy! Even though I had another policy full coverage that covers me on any vehicle I drive they reported to DMV that I had absolutely no insurance at all! DMV suspended my license. I will be canceling two policies with progressive. Stay far away! You're nothing more than a number to them and a profit margin that's it! They're so large they have no idea what they're doing!
I had to deal with somebody named Mark on the phone today. The other three reps were fine very respectful very pleasant. This guy was so rude unprofessional I just about canceled my two policies right then and there. Obviously progressive doesn't pay a lot for their customer support personnel! I wouldn't pay this guy $5 an hour to clean my toilets.
We have called 9 times to reach Jon Ousterout who left his name on our previous BBB claim. He didnt reply back. Finally we caught him on phone, he was very rude and unprofessional. He didnt keep his promises to solve the claim. We have lost very much income from our productive business hours for an unprofessional company Progressive. Therefore we are awaiting an apology call from Tricia Griffith for her unprofessional worker Jon Ousterout and a compensation for our lost income. If we dont receive a call from Tricia Griffith, we will be glad to publish our bad experience with Progressive online.

When someone steals from you there goes the trust, well what Progressive did amounts to THEFT and their core-value seems to justify it under "Profit -We have a responsibility to ourselves." there fine print is so fine not even they can see it. They added some random stranger to my policy withdrew money from my checking account and not a small amount of money for someone surviving paycheck to paycheck with all the rising cost of everything. So after 6 calls to customer service the person is removed they haven't refunded my money I don't see why I have to wait 12 days my bank didn't pay then in 12 days or in increments so what the guy said was credit that's not what I want and don't use the term credit what I want is a REFUND this is not resolved and when they talk about customer satisfaction from my experience it does not exist. FYI I selected 1 star only because you cannot post a review unless you do.
Progressive markets itself as a company that will provide you with competitive pricing, however, once you insure your vehicle or house with them their rates will INCREASE AT EVERY RENEWAL.
My insurance rate was almost doubled without ANY reason (I made no changes of any kind to my driving).
Unreal that Insurance companies are allowed to this (all in the name of money!). NOT TRUSTWORTHY.

So I chatted with someone. Wrote into them also and even called. When I chatted with their team member she assured me that they would stop my direct debit and change my due date. It was not stopped. I emailed and asked them to cancel my policy and received an email from them asking me to confirm my address and DOB and something else. I responded that I will not as they should have this information but wanted a supervisor to contact me.
Needless to say, they canceled my policy and no return call and they overdrew my account.
They contacted me after the insured went through my fence. Sent them the bill for repairs. They changed adjuster then wanted more info keep changing to delay paying for Damage!
