I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D
Return policy is not clearly expressed prior to ordering. Refunds are not accepted and you are held captive to return business via store credit or lose your money outright. Shame on you Promgirl for taking advantage of the online buyer How is one supposed to know what an online dress will look like in person, but it doesn't matter because you already have my money. In this new world of online shopping, this practice is Absolutely wrong and deceitful.
My daughter decided to go to prom 6 days before the prom and we order her dress on a Sunday and received it on a Tuesday... the dress was the perfect fit! I love Prom girl!

Top part of the dress is too big and bottom is too small. This dress is very poorly constructed. My daughter was very disappointed and we had to find another dress.

Was very disappointed in the dress. Very heavy and much longer than in the picture. I ended up not wearing it but I can't return it unless I return for credit.

It was my first time every buying a prom dress on line. The dress came very quickly and it was just as beautiful, as it was on line. The price was extremely affordable and fit great.

Ordered my daughter's prom dress in April and when the dress arrived, the measurements were totally wrong. We measured my daughter and ordered her dress accordingly to there measurements. We ordered a medium which started was a 36" bust line. But what we received was a 32" bust line. I emailed them within a week after trying on the dress and told them the situation. I did not have time to exchange being that her prom was only a month away so I had my seamstress make the alterations. Prom Girl asked for a letter explaining what she had to do and cost. Prom Girl and I settled for a partial refund of my cost to fix. After not receiving anything, I contacted them back inquiring. They them decide that they would only give me a coupon for the amount towards another purchase since it was past 60 days. They never said anything about a time frame before and now they are refusing to give me my partial refund to fix what they sent. Why would I order again from a place that sent me an incorrect dress that I ordered? Nice job of taking care of their customers. A complaint is being filled with the BBB.
Each size chart is provided by the designer or manufacturer of the dress. We apologize that it didn't fit as expected but the decision was made to keep the dress which was received on 4/05/2017. We were contacted on 4/8 to say the sizing wasn’t the same as the size chart, but the dress was already being taken to the seamstress. On 5/30, we were informed that you were waiting on the detailed receipt from the seamstress that we requested to look into a possible discount. Then, on 9/1, a detailed email was received explaining what was done by the seamstress but it was not on a professional company letterhead. A receipt was finally sent to us on 11/15/17. Unfortunately PayPal transactions cannot be done this long after the order is placed so a partial refund is not possible. We have offered an exception to you as emailed and no further options are available. Thank you for your understanding.
This was the cutest dress ever! I had an unbelievably amount of compliments on this dress. I was told by a teacher it was the BEST Homecoming dress she'd ever seen!
The dress was just like in the picture, and the size was exactly what the chart says. The only problem was some of the gems were falling off really easy.
I ordered my (in stock) dress last week with 3 day shipping. It was scheduled to ship Monday morning and subsequently get here Wednesday. It is now a week after ordering my dress and no confirmation email, no shipping information, nothing. I finally called customer service this morning to see what was going on and the only response that the lady could give me was "I don't know". She told me that the dress had not been shipped yet and I got that same response. She said she would try to get it shipped out if she could. Nothing other than that. No refund for my expensive 3-day shipping cost which obviously wouldn't be 3 days. I would not have paid for 3 day shipping if I knew that this would happen. Waste of money. Others that I told this to suggested that they should have done free overnight shipping. The rude and negligent customer service attendant would not even offer my shipping refund. I am very mad and will never order a dress from this site again. Next time, I will choose a site that ACTUALLY SHIPS THEIR PRODUCTS OUT. It would be one thing if promgirl shipped it out on Monday(Like supposed to) and UPS/FedEx/USPS had the problem with it taking longer to ship. But its not even the mail delivery's mistake, its this unorganized company's.

It looks a bit different from the picture, but I didn't expect anything more than the price I paid. The shoulders are a bit itchy but I didn't really mind.
My dress fits well. The packaging, price, and delivery were great! There is a lot more cleavage showing, but I'll use double sided tape to keep everything in place.
Second time I've ordered from here. Received my dress super quick. Both dresses were great-quality material, easy to have altered, and appear as advertised.

They make money off of your returns! 99% of people return the items because they are cheap and ugly, and promgirl keeps the 10% each time —plus the dresses are marked up like crazy!
I bought a $200 dress for my sister's wedding, it was described as "ivory" and looked almost white and like a runway dress in the picture. When I received it, I was about to faint, the dress was yellow gold out of the cheapest material and sparkly sequin top looking like a Halloween costume!
I contacted them sending pictures of the actual dress versus the one posted online and they still were reluctant to give my money back because it was a sale item. I never in my life have heard of anything like this, any other store would have taken it back. They agreed to give me a store-credit, keeping 10% plus 8 bucks for a return label -WTF?! - now they are FORCING me to buy another one of their cheap looking dresses, ridiculous!
The only ones that comment with 5 stars are people working for promgirl or Highschool kids that are used to cheap Forever 21 fashion... great businessplan I must say though, they found a way to legally rip off people, knowing that America is full of kids waiting to waste their money on prom...

I ordered a Homecoming Dress for my daughter. Because it was $99, not much less expensive than average Homecoming dress price, I was expecting it to be decent. The dress was crap. I've seen Halloween costumes for $24.99 that were sewn better. The hem line was crooked and unraveling as if it wasn't finished. The fit was horrible, about 2 - 3 sizes too big although she wears the ordered size in every other dress.
After reading reviews (I hope you're smarter than me and are reading this BEFORE ordering) I feel lucky to have gotten a refund at all, but it wasn't for the full amount. I paid $17 for expedited shipping, which I didn't really expect to be refunded. But my refund was $81, for a $99 purchse. I'd tell you why but I wasn't given an explanation. Just an email that said "Excellent News! You get $81 back!" While I appreciate their enthusiasm, I hardly considered this news "excellent". I felt like the news was more like "mediocre".
But I digress. Just take your kid to the store and buy her a dress. Spare yourself the headache. Hell hath no fury like a teenager whose perfect dress won't work.

I was looking for wedding shoes. I found and tried this particular shoes in a store but they didn't have the ivory color I was looking for, so I looked online and found the color and size (size 6) on Promgirl. When the shoes arrived, it was really small and it felt like a size 5. I called and emailed customer service, and no one seems to know why it is smaller, and I was told it should run true to woman shoes size. I decided to give Promgirl another try and just blind order it a whole size bigger (size 7). When I place the ordered it says the order will be shipped within 3 days. Later that day, I received an emailed stated the shoes were backed ordered and it would not shipped until May. (I needed the shoes the beginning of April for my dress fitting). I called and ask for a refund, and a customer service stated she cannot refund my money but give me store credit that I can buy anything on their website. I told her I didn't want to waste my money and buy anything from the website just because they would return my money! I eventually got my some of my money (they took 10% for restocking fee, and I spend about $16 on shipping)
Promgirl is such a bad and hassle company to buy from. With all the charges and shipping (bothways), its not even worth it. I would not recommend anyone to buy from this website and deal with the troubles.
DRESS LOOKED FINE WHEN SIMPLY TRIED ON BUT WHEN WORN FOR A BIT (SAT DOWN AND MOVED AROUND IN DRES) THE FABRIC STARTED STICKING TO THE INTERFACING FABRIC (WHICH IS ON ANY DRESS WITH BEADING AND/OR BUILT IN BODICE) CREATING A WHOLE BUNCH OF INDENTATIONS AND PUCKERING.
