I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D
Return policy is not clearly expressed prior to ordering. Refunds are not accepted and you are held captive to return business via store credit or lose your money outright. Shame on you Promgirl for taking advantage of the online buyer How is one supposed to know what an online dress will look like in person, but it doesn't matter because you already have my money. In this new world of online shopping, this practice is Absolutely wrong and deceitful.
I am not one to bash a website, and usually try to give it the benefit of the doubt. However I ordered my dress on November 13th. I paid for three day shipping. Little did I know this meant three day shipping from the date it said it was processed to ship. I wasn't aware until I called, and then got explained that in a very blunt way. They then proceeded to tell me it would be in by December 7th... My event was the 9th. Yes... almost a FULL MONTH to ship. So as aggravated as I was, I was going to wait. Today, the 4th of December, (mind I tell you this was the day my dress was supposed to ship out) they told me that it has been delayed and will not ship out until the 10th... the day after my event... WORST PURCHASE EVER. And to add on, I couldn't cancel it, so I have to wait until it is in to return, which I will be returning. Not to mention I had to rush to find a dress. It is not worth the stress, take that from me.
I got my shoes just way it look like in the picture. And it didn't take long to get it I got in a week from ordering it. Ya so cool. Now I am gonna slay prom #2K17
Listen to all these negative reviews when they say not to order from Prom Girl! I ordered a dress online and I followed the measurement suggestion to find my size. When I received my prom dress it was too big in several spots and the proportions were really weird too. The cups were way too high on me, the waist was too loose and the dress was too long. Part of the dress was even falling off! The alterations ended up being more than the dress itself so I ended up taking it back. You can't get cash back so I only get $80 of store credit even though this is my senior prom so I don't need another prom dress after this year. Prom was just one week away so I had to find a new one fast. But the return takes longer than that to process so I had to buy a another dress. I ordered one and when it came it fit but it was too long. I thought I was in luck because of the perfect fit guarantee. SIKE. It only applies to dresses $150 or more and mine was $149... nice. Now it's been two weeks after prom and I still haven't gotten credit for my first dress.

They sent the wrong size from what we ordered. Then said they could send the corrected size in time for the event, but the next day said they couldn't... messy and I won't order through them again!

They really have the worst customer service of any prom site i've ever seen! We ordered my dress for a May 5th prom and they told me it was in stock when i ordered it. We paid extra for two day shipping to make sure i had it a full month in advance and they called me the day it was supposed to be DELIVERED and told me it was out of stock. Two days later they told me they still didn't have a new reship date. Two days after that, a dress i ordered from another website came in (a backup because promgirl was being horrible) and we called promgirl to tell them to cancel the order. They very rudely told us that they would not cancel the order because it could get shipping april 20th and that was plenty of time. After 30 minutes listening to them rudely tell ME how much time it would take me to get ready for prom and that it getting here april 25th was in time for a may 5th prom i hung up. We had to call the credit card company and ask them to refuse to pay the website the money. We're still having problems insisting we pay for the dress. DO NOT ORDER HERE. They have horrible customer service and it's just a money pit, no matter what they will get your money. Total scam.
I did my measurements and had it size me. It said I was a medium but only because is was between sizes. All my measurements fit the small except for I think my hips which are a the same as the medium size but I have a small bust and waist so I decided to go with the small. The bust area is still slightly loose under the bra area and in the middle. Otherwise the dress fit so well, it was really long. I am 54 and with a 4-5inch heel I still had to get it hemmed and took about 2-3 inches off in alterations. The dress is so pretty in person and I love it! The color is more of a darkish burgundy red so the picture is a little off but not by too much. Also the straps and back where the gold Lacey fabric is sheer but otherwise it is exactly like the picture. Also, it came with an extra piece of fabric like the skirt in the shape of a scarf to cover your shoulders which was nice. Im definitely impressed with the speed to which it was delivered, about a week, and the quality of the dress is lovely. Thank you Prom Girl!
An internet store front, nothing in stock even if they claim it is. When you order they go through other companies to send to you at big delays.
Ordered a dress that was marked in stock ready to ship. Ordered with overnight shipping. Two days later no dress, I called and was told it was back ordered, I questioned the in stock and was told they would look into it. I was then told it would be sent out immediately. 24 hours later no dress, I contacted them again and was told it was back ordered. I queried as to when I was going to be told, I was then told they just sent the email, it came from the person i was talking to. I then canceled the order and was told my refund would not include shipping charges. I ended up calling them and speaking to three more people before they agreed to a full refund. Well I kept checking for refund and nothing. I contacted them again and was told they were holding my money in case a dress became available. I had to argue and send a money request to finally get it.
I ordered a prom dress from here and it came in just a few days. The size fit perfectly. I usually wear a size l-xl t-shirt and I looked at the size chart and I had to order a 3x size dress! Always go by the size chart for this site. When the first dress I ordered came, it was a completely different color than what was online so I returned it for a different color. The day after I ordered it, the dress dropped from $200 to $125 dollars. They refunded me the whole $200 and I got to order the new dress for a lot cheaper. The only downside was that it was now a "final sale" dress. I received the new dress and it was again a different color than it was online but no worries, it was still beautiful. The only major problem was that both of the dresses had zippers that would get stuck. It is very hard to zip up the dress even when its not on my body. Another problem I have is that you can't review the dresses on their actual site. I submitted twice and they never actually post the review so that you can see it.
Before buying the dress I looked at the return policy on the website. On the home page there is a section at the top called "We accept return" and when you click on this section a small pop up window appears. The window provides all the information about the return policy EXCPET THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT WHICH IS THE 7 DAY RMA REQUEST! I'll admit I should have researched this further, but I'm very disappointed as it seems deceptive on the company's part to not link you directly to the returns policy website from the home page.

This was my second time ordering a dress from promgirl, the first time I was very pleased with the dress. This time I was very disappointed when I received this dress(Short Cap Sleeve Sequin Dress JU-MA-*******K), I order this dress according to the size chart. I measured myself and according to the size chart my size was 4, so I ordered size 4, and the dress is huge on me the shoulders are hanging and very baggy. I called them to see if they can give me a smaller size, but they did not have smaller sizes. The customer service told me that there is nothing they can do since it is final sale. I disagree, since this is their problem, the size chart is not accurate, I would never have gotten the dress in size 4, since I am between size 0 and 2, but because I used the size chart just to make sure I get the right size and I ended up with a dress 3 sizes larger (the measurements they show on chart for size 4 are bust-34.2; waist 27.5 and hips- 37.25, if this was the correct measurements for the dress, it would have fit me perfectly but it was not.)

The chart will recommend a size to accommodate the largest measurement but ultimately the sizing is up to you! Sometimes a dress might need alterations for the perfect fit. Unfortunately if the item is marked "Final Sale-No Returns" we are not able to accept it back as it will be discontinued from our site. An exchange would normally be done by returning an item and using store credit for the new size, however this cannot be done with a final sale dress. We apologize for any inconvenience!
I ordered a dress from this site and while shipping was fast and the dress was what I expected I was charged 60 euros on delivery by UPS. This was a mix of tax, VAT and a brokerage fee. The VAT was twice what it should have been as PromGirl failed to note a shipping cost on the forms, which customs requires, so UPS was forced to make one up with a formula they use.
PromGirl also chooses to ship with UPS which regularly charges brokerage fees but does not note this on their website. In fact under shipping they only note that the seller is liable for 'customs and import charges.' Nowhere does it mention brokerage fees though they no doubt know that they are an inevitability when you ship with UPS.
When I attempted to get in contact with the company I sent multiple emails asking the general customer service who I should get in contact with regarding this issue. After a month and 2-3 emails I had yet to hear a word back. I assume they just didn't want to deal with the issue.
I am now attempting to get in contact through other means but the basic point is, be prepared to overpay, spend hours on the phone trying to get your money back and possibly possibly get the law involved if you choose international shipping.
Tip for consumers:
Buy a dress in store, you pay a little extra but you save more time and effort than the money you save is worth.
I placed my order for my dress on March 15th, I paid thirty dollars for faster shipping and I have still yet to receive my dress in the mail. I am not happy.

I saw a dress I liked at TT New York for prom and loved it... but it was $300. I went online to prom girl and saw the same exact dress for $99. I wasn't sure if I should order because of the bad reviews, but I ordered anyway. I used a coupon for free overnight shipping ("PGCoupUP" exp. 7/1) and my dress was here the next day, no problems. Since I tried on the dress at a different store, I was almost 90% sure it would fit, and it did. The only thing that bothered me is that I asked a customer service representative if it came with a shawl and she told me no... but it did. I definitely wouldn't order a dress from here if I wasn't able to try it on or if I had a hard color to match up... the policy is right there on the website so I don't see how you're upset at the company... because they charge a restocking fee and return shipping. Most dress shops are final sale for ALL of their dresses and don't even offer store credit... but anyways besides the rep, shipping was fast, free and my dress came in perfect condition.
It was an excellent choice and I am very satisfied. The selection is fenomenal. Everything I saw was beautiful. Different styles and colors. I was very pleased
So by "Easy Returns" this business means you can send the dresses back for a store credit? NO refunds, even within the non-standard 10 day return window? (48 hours of which you need to leave for them to get back to you with an RMA before you can even ship your return...) This is not what "Easy Returns" means to an online consumer. It's not a return at all... it's shipping the merchandise back to the store to resell to another consumer. This is a pyramid scheme. Particularly when you consider what happens if you decide to use the store credit...
Playing this one step forward, if you assume the store credit is given in good faith... what happens if you order a dress using your store credit, that doesn't fit, that you want to return? Do you get your store credit refunded? Surely not - just more store credit. (And this company can re-sell yet another dress.)
It's clearly misleading. I am reporting this business to the BBB and calling my credit card company. Sad that this website preys on teenagers who may not know better. I'm a 35-year-old shopping for a bridesmaid dress and am blessed to be able to afford a $738 mistake, but I couldn't have when I was a teenager.
I ordered a dress specifically for a New Year's Eve party in New Orleans and had confirmed the date of the event as well as my shipping address (in New Orleans). I received an email that my dress had shipped to the New Orleans address and the day before New Year's Eve, my mother called me in California and informed me that the dress had arrived there, but that the address on the shipping slip inside the box stated the New Orleans address. She ended up spending 100 dollars to overnight ship it to me for the party (I had already bought ALL my accessories to match the gold dress I had ordered). I called promgirl and they confirmed that they had been mistaken and had shipped it to the wrong address, but that there was nothing that they could do to reship another dress to me in time. I told them that my mother already had went to ups to ship it overnight and the man said that he was not convinced that overnight shipping on a holiday was that expensive. I have since faxed over the receipt for the shipping costs and complied with every piece of information they have requested, and still no shipping refund for the mistake that they admitted was their company's fault. Thank God my mother had the money to reship my dress. Please be cautious... this website has AMAZING dresses, but they are not necessarily responsible with communication or with accurate shipment information.
I have ordered multiple dresses and I have loved each one of them. I have ordered hoco dress and senior prom dress there and I absolutely love both. They shipped fast.
Loved the way the dress looked on my granddaughter for her graduation! Fit her perfectly! She is 5ft 3inches & very petite! Perfect for a hot day! Beautiful dress!
Bought a dress a year ago but couldn't wear it because my prom got canceled due to corona. I tried to get my money back but wasn't unable to because it was a final sale and i didn't realize that so they gave me store credit instead. Tried using my store credit this year and I couldn't use it anymore since a new company has taken over. It was $370 worth. So they took my money and i get nothing in return. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE ANYMORE AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO SHOP HERE.

Today is May 13th, I ordered my dress May 8th it was supposed to come on the 10th but turns out the extra $17 was for nothing! Anyways fast forward to today when my dress came it was the wrong color! And then when we called the lady had an attitude & asked why couldn't I just wear that color. She also told us that they knew the color of the dress I wanted was on back order & simply figured that this color would do. IF I WANTED THE BEIGE DRESS I WOULD'VE PICKED IT! Prom is in 2 days, I'm not going anymore. :( I hope promgirl gets destroyed.

This site is a HUGE ripoff! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I ordered this dress as a birthday gift for my daughter. I had it wrapped and gave it to her on her birthday. The dress fit so bad I cant even begin to explain it. The way it was cut and very cheaply made too. So, I call to return it for a refund considered I paid 100 for it. They told me NO refunds or NO in store credit because they have a 5 day window to return the dress after its been shipped! Considered it takes time to ship the dress because I live so far away and it was given as a birthday gift which ruined my daughter's special day too, they said I missed the 5 day return policy. I have NEVER EVER heard a company where you must return by 5 days or NO REFUND! I even have a Business degree and this not how you run a company. The customer should always be satisfied or they are going to go out of Business quickly! So I am now out of pocket 100 of my hard earned money that was basically given to them freely. Take my advise go somewhere else for a dress! This company is out to ripped you off!

We ordered the L by measurements and it was too small. Returned for the XL which was SIGNIFICANTLY bigger. It needs alterations but it's lovely. My daughter is happy.
Found a dress on their overpriced site. Found the same dress for $35 less on another site. They promised price match, but then refused. Rude customer service. Stay away. Plus, you can find all their dresses for much cheaper on Amazon. I would post screenshots, but I've already wasted enough time on these fraudsters.
Update: In response to their reply. The dress on the other site wasn't sold out when I sent u guys the link. STOP LYING! It is only sold out NOW because I BOUGHT THE LAST ONE! I will gladly post all my screenshots that PROVE you guys are liars. Also, first you guys refuse to honor the pricematch by bold face lying stating that its not the same dress. Then changed the story by falsely claiming the site was a wholesale site. Then changed the story again stating there's no way you can verify that the dress is in stock. After proving that it was in stock. Then you changed the story AGAIN stating they are not an authorized seller. STOP LYING! You people are engaged in false adverstising!
If you keep responding with more lies, I will gladly post screenshots! Of my order confirmation from the other site, the price I paid for it, the price on your website, plus all the times you crooks changed your story via Chat customer service. I took screenshots of everything!
