I greatly appreciate HomeValue.us.org. It helep me to get the value of my house so that I have the value as a solid base to discuss the property tax with officer of our town goverment. The town officer hire a realty appraiser for the value of our house. They gave the high value unimaginable for our house. The property tax in NJ is the toppest in US. The goverment of NJ still enhances the tax continually. We, retired people, only have the way to defend our right.

I recently purchased this house and found the information regarding it, e.g. views (map and satellite), taxes, permits, construction, and contractors, quite complete and efficiently presented.

Why do we have to pay $1 for every property search since Volusia County public records should be available to everyone because we pay taxes for government services. I am a local realtor and access the public records CONSTANTLY to obtain property info and I think it is unreasonable now to implement a $1 fee for every inquiry. Just doesn't make sense for a government agency to make revenue from the public for "supposedly" being a resource to the public for maintaining property information. I think I will just use Zillow.

I was searching for a particular piece of real estate. I entered the info and the screen came up "WE HAVE FOUND YOUR PROPERTY" and could obtain the info for $1.00. So I entered the info for payment using a debit card and my bank account was charged $18.95. The report was that THIS PROPERTY WAS NOT IN THEIR DATABASE! Why would they say the property had been found, unless it was just to get me to pay?
When I questioned the charge, I was told I signed up for a twelve month period at $18.95 per month, that I could have accidently checked a box to sign up... WHICH I DID NOT CHECK AND I AM SURE IT WAS BY DESIGN OF THE WEBSITE TO DO THIS. They were KIND enough to cancel my contract and say I would not be charged any additional charges. Bottom line is that I was charged $18.95 for NOTHING!
