Horrible!
June 7, 2016

Used to be my favorite app! Now it's horrible! Very difficult to use! Why do I keep having to look for how to put my search preferences in? They need to change it back, until then... Hello Zillow!

Submitted my number and email to be notified about the property, thinking that it would be from the realtor. But within minutes I am spammed by 5 buyers agents.

People absolutely hate the web site after the update. Why aren't you doing anything? Having been in software for 40 years I think this might be one of the worst updates I have ever seen.

I know there are bigger fish to fry right now...

But I have no idea who else to tell this to, so I'm going to the people with a voice. I am a real estate agent in NJ on lock down, and my husband has been laid off work... literally cutting our income in half right now. As an agent I use a lead generation system that I pay for from realtor.com. I pay over $1200 a month for these leads. Myself, and several other agents have asked to cancel our accounts. We can't show houses and honestly finding a house is not a top priority for most right now. Realtor.com refuses to cancel accounts, they have offered a reduction of 60% to our current contracts, or offer us a buy out by paying them 2 months upfront. That would be almost $2500 for me... their lead system was already bad, they scam you into purchasing these leads to begin with, buyer beware. That is my own fault, but, this is just crazy. I cannot afford to keep paying them. So we have to continue to pay for a service that will not do us any good. I have argued with them, made several phone calls. I just went to the extent to cancel my credit card associated with them, but the card company told me even with a canceled card they will still honor contracts with Realtor.com.

Its not just me, but thousands of agents... I think this needs to get out there so we can get some kind of relief from this. I don't know how we will manage our other bills let alone keep paying for a service I cannot utilize, or a service I don't believe they can actually honor and live up to.

I hope you can help!

Thank you,

Best Regards

I have worked with agents throughout the country both as a buyer and a seller and I'm extremely selective on who I choose to represent me. Mary was by far the best agent I have worked with. She is not only knowledgable and professional, she goes that extra mile to make sure your house is absolutely ready for each showing. My home was empty so she would go over before clients arrived to make sure lights were on, porch was swept, and all was in order. She even had her husband fix a few things that needed repair. She was quick to respond to questions and would send feedback within the hour. The final negotiations for my house were difficult due to a variety of factors and she handled them with ease. In the time my home was listed, Mary earned my trust and clearly made suggestions in my best interest. Paying a 6% fee always seemed like too much money in the past; however, I can honestly say that Mary earned her commission and for the first time EVER, I was happy to pay it! I highly recommend this amazing real estate agent for anyone who sincerely wants to sell or buy a home.

Cash back rewards program a scam.
December 7, 2021

After being baited as a home buyer through realtor.com's cash back rewards program and working with real estate agents that put me on the bottom of their list because they didn't have to pay a fee to realtor.com for them, I finally was able to make a home purchase.

I waited and waited on my cash back (they inform you that you will have to wait for some time after your purchase so they can collect from the realtor, amongst other things). I finally got tired of waiting and called them only to be told that I had missed the "deadline" to collect the cash back. They insisted they had sent me an email notifying me of the time-line I had to collect and provided me with a date that email had been sent. I was able to find the email in question on that exact date they alleged to have sent it, except that email mentioned nothing about the cash back instructions. It did not matter that I forwarded the email back to them to prove what I was telling them.

They continued to hold to their ground that they had sent the email notifying me of information they needed from me in order to process my cash back and I had missed the "dead line."

Funny how they had no problem calling me incessantly when they first wanted my business but when it was their turn to fulfill on their business commitment, one email they allege to have sent was all they feel they needed for their due diligence (which, again, they never sent).

Shame on realtor.com for their shady practices. According to other information online, their is a lawsuit against them on their cash back program, which I wholeheartedly hope they lose.

Spam jam
April 14, 2016

Unreal spam, slowware, ads bogging down the actual search. Very frustrating to locate any property because browser crashes ALL the time. Never any problems w/my computer on any other sites, just REALTOR> SPAM! This used to be the premier search for RE... not any more. I don't won't waste time for ads to load and then jam search after a dozen or so properties. Agents and brokers ACTUAL PAY FOR THIS SERVICE? I can't see them staying in business much longer. Professionals, move your business to Trulia or Zillow and stop feeding revenue to this crappy search site.

This by far has to be one of the worth website changes I've seen. Realtor.com used to be very user friendly. Now it is a struggle to use and aggravation. SarasotaOne website is better. First horrible change they made to their sit is you used to be able to roll over the house listings on the right side of the screen and it would make the price icon expand on the map so you know where the property was located. This no longer works. The second thing they changed is they no longer show houses as Active with Contract. It's either active or it's pending. Don't waste my time showing me an Active with Contract house. I realize you're desperate to drum up business for your Realtors but give the consumers a break as well. Another change you made is you could add features that you are looking for like a pool or 2 story. You took that away as well. It's as if you're trying to force feed every house possibility down our throats. Give people the benefit of a doubt that they have a brain and can decide for themselves what they want to buy. Don't use this site unless they change it back to the way it was.

Drew Betz Realty Group, Keller Williams By The Water Sarasota, is very deceptive and dishonest. Drew Betz Adds fees for buyers to buy houses through him without informing the buyer. He adds fees, or a percentage of commission to the closing statement without the knowledge of the seller or buyer. Had to go through his broker, to get my money back he added on the closing statements at closing. Also he will not give you a copy of the contract so he can add a larger commission at closing on property he is selling for you. Very dishonest and only a friend if he can have you do what he wants you to do.
He will tell you only to use his companies for inspections and closings. Tells you not to get an attorney. He stole over $1000 from us, tried to bribe me out of $10k to sell a house under contract so he don't have to report the sale. Very dishonest..

Worked a lot with real estate web sites. Local broker sites are more helpful.

New listings can take 2 days to show on Realtor.com. Sold listings can stay on there for weeks.

I've used realtor.com a lot for articles and teaching I've never used them paid search for leads. Then I received an email from realtor.com I assumed it was because I was looking on their site so often and updating my profile, to get a couple of zip codes that I wanted near my area. I signed up for two zip codes and was told by the account executive that I could call her anytime for help with my profile and setting up searches. The next thing I know my card is being charged and a contract is being emailed that is for one year when I never agreed to do anything for one year. When I asked them to cancel it they said I was past my three-day window at 10 days after receiving the paperwork in my email. I have repeatedly asked them to cancel the contract and not charge my card for a second month. I also tested the site to see if I was an agent that came up on realtor.com in the zip codes that I was paying for. I did not come up on the site after searching three different times. When I ask the representative about that they said I must have misunderstood how it worked and that I was not being advertised on realtor.com. What the heck did I sign up for then I thought it was for realtor.com and now I see it's something from five Street I have no idea who five street is or what their scam is all about I just want out! Help has anyone ever had this problem and how did you get out of it?
