They told me if I sign up for a month to month I could cancel at any time. To find out 3 weeks later when I tried to cancel (due to the fact your sharing same leads with other agents) that I was locked into a year "contract" and could not cancel. I told them I never signed up for a year contract and I will be canceling my service. I was never inform that I would be sharing leads with other realtors and most of my leads where coming in between 11pm-2am? Who's going to call a lead that late? They said in stuck with the contract and theirs no way out. How can you give false information and bind some one to a contract you never signed and had no knowledge of? They should be sued!
UPDATE 7/27/15
After posting this I decided to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I explained to them my problem with realtors.com and they opened up a case. In about a week I was contacted by a representative from moves.com, which is the owner of realtors.com. She explained to me that it can be canceled at anytime, and that there reps should have never threaten me about how they can not cancel my service. I'm happy to say my service is canceled and I no longer have to deal with them again.
As the other review on here, I was guaranteed 4 leads per month - 48 a year. I am not receiving those leads and literally everything I get is mobile home leads. I cannot sell mobile homes! That requires another license. I had called and emailed complaints months ago already and never heard back from anybody! I called realtor.com today and was forwarded to the "decision making manager" who was incredibly arrogant. I was told I need to give it time and that I yet not understand the benefits of realtor.com (after paying $250 a month for half a year!). He also said he used to be a realtor and is not aware that I cannot sell mobile homes. He continued the mobile homes were expensive (I got leads between 48k-78k) and that I shouldn't complain. Even if it would sell for $900k - I DO NOT HAVE A MOBILE HOME LICENSE. He refused to cancel my subscription, knowing how upset I was with Realtor.com and that I will not run around telling everyone to sign up. The so called "manager", Joe Brown, also said that I only implied that the leads were guaranteed. I have a full page of notes before I signed up with them - there are plenty of numbers on there the first agent through at me over the phone to get to me to sign up. I was at awe at the lack of professionalism of Realtor.com and call their advertising misleading if not even fraudulent (since apparently I was lied to!).
My Husband and I never thought we would be able to purchase the home of our dreams; our forever home, until one day we were blessed to meet an awesome group of Angels from Nicole James Real Estate Group. The group consist of Tiffany Richardson, Gerald Richardson and Latonya Gilchrist. These individuals know exactly what it takes to sell and buy a home and they are very passionate about what they do. This was the first time we encountered such a process and each time we became frustrated and stressed, they continued to encourage us, remind us that it was going to be ok and that the end result would be awesome. They were exactly right. A special thanks to Ms. Tiffany Richardson who although she is a business woman; has a "Heart of Gold" and to Ms. Latonya Gilchrist who took my Husband and me to view so many homes. Ms. Gilchrist did not ever complain, was extremely patient and treated us like royalty. I know that Realtors are in the business of making money but for this group it IS about making your dreams come true. They actually do work for you and yes, the end result is pure satisfaction. THANK YOU NICOLE JAMES REAL ESTATE GROUP! YOU ROCK!
LIES ALL LIES SAVE YOUR MONEY THEY wanted to charge about 100$ per lead... i told the sales rep tyler carr that was our state law that limits it to 50$ which I would not pay anyway
Never any updates. Houses are never pending or contingent... they always say active. Redfin is so much better
Especially GRAZIANO TASSONE PRESIDENT/BROKER 3 TASSONE COURT Fishkill, NY
This very sad but it's very true. All real states in Duchess County. No Communication unless you flash money in their faces. Agents pressures you into renting or buying a home they dont care if it's a mistake in buyer part as long has their commission falls threw. They don't offer any guidance at all. To many wishy-washy people in real state. I think it's because to many people are going for real state licenses that shouldn't be. Their just plain arrogant, condescending and rude. I have gotten no ware for last couple of years no help at all.
This is a problem because its every agent and real state so what do I need to do, well need to stop wasting my time. But mean while how do I find a apartment that's going to be suitable for me and my German Shepard. Way to many bad agents out their. Am poor don't have enough money to flash in their faces. So, guess am stuck. I already had a bad experience with a really bad agent took three thousand dollars from me never moved into apartment. We all deserve good agents who will confidently advise us help us find a place to live. Are real state businesses only for the rich only for people who have a lot of money? I am not impressed at all with any of them. Where can I go for help now to find an apartment?
realtor.com is the biggest gimmick just as zillow.com
Do not use. They are a lead based program that is a fraud without factual client information.
The new changes to Realtor.com are absolutely HORRIBLE! Please FIRE the person responsible for this upgrade/ implementation. I have never personally- as a consumer -experienced a worse "upgrade" EVER in 35 years in the business.
COMPLAINTS;
THE NEW SITE DOES NOT WORK & STILL AFTER A FULL WEEK STILL NONE OF THE BUGS HAVE BEEN FIXED.
THE MAP FUNCTION IS BROKEN AND DOES NOT TOGGLE BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN PROPERTIES AND THE LISTING.
WHEN YOU TOGGLE BACK AND FORTH YOU LOSE YOUR ORIGINAL SEARCH AND CANNOT EVER GET BACK TO THE FULL LIST OF PROPERTIES WITHOUT LOGGING OUT AND STARTING COMPLETELY OVER.
YOU REMOVED ALL THE FILTERS THAT MADE YOUR SITE ACTUALLY USEFUL.
EXAMPLE: CUSTOMERS CAN NO LONGER CAN FILTER ON 1 STORY OR 2 STORY- THIS IS IMPERATIVE FOR HANDICAPPED /AGING CUSTOMERS.
CUSTOMERS CAN NO LONGER EVEN FIND IF OUT IF A PROPERTY IS 1 OR 2 STORY WITHOUT DIGGING DEEP INTO THE LISTING.
CUSTOMERS CAN NO LONGER SEARCH ON ONLY ACTIVE LISTINGS!
CUSTOMERS HAVE TO LOOK THROUGH EVERY LISTING THAT IS PENDING NOW!
AND WHY DO THIS WITH NO EXPLANATION OR ANNOUNCEMENT BANNER ON YOUR WEBSITE?
YOU COULD AT LEAST LET CUSTOMERS KNOW YOU ARE UPGRADING YOUR SITE AND THAT YOU ARE WORKING TO FIX THE CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL ISSUES.
I HAVE CALLED 3 X'S INTO YOUR CALL CENTER
I HAVE SENT SCREEN SHOTS EXPLAINING THE PROBLEMS IN DEPTH TO YOUR CALL CENTER. STILL THE SAME PROBLEMS A WEEK LATER.
VERY IRRESPONSIBLE TO MAKE THIS KIND OF JUDGMENT ERROR WHEN THIS IS SUCH A CRITICAL TOOL THAT MILLIONS RELY ON. SHAME ON REALTOR.COM. SOMEONE IS ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL.
My co-agent and I decided to give realtor.com a try after speaking with the sales rep and telling him that we arent interested in a contract of any kind. He explained that we arent signing a contract but they just hope we will stay in it and try it for a year. I said Id give it 3 months and reevaluate it since we arent signing a contract anyway. After 3 months of hardly any leads and the couple we got were bogus, we called the customer service number to cancel. The person we got on the phone said hes not able to cancel but someone in client care could help and someone would call us back. I told him I will stay on the line until he could get someone on the phone who could help. After 45 minutes we finally got to talk to the RUDEST guy and he said he wont cancel ourcontract. I asked him what contract? We didnt sign anything and to prove it otherwise. He proceeded to yell at me and told me he cant come over to my computer and show me how to use my email! He was trying his best to bully us and try and convince us we had to continue to pay. We didnt give up and he finally sent us a cancellation email because we had to not stop arguing with him. He tried to tell us we have a verbal contract and I told him to find the recording of my conversation because I never agreed to any contract. HORRIBLE experience and company! This business should be shut down. Do yourself a favor and dont use them. There are a lot better ways of getting clients
After 2 realtors lied to me, I posted the sale of my condo online in various places as FSBO. Alex Kubyshyn told me that he has a special system to alert him when posts like mine are posted and so he reached out. I explained that I have 0 trust in realtors and wanted to sell my condo without one. Alex became very pushy and persistent. He wanted the sale in spite of me telling him that if needed a realtor, I had someone in mind. He didn't want to hear that, or much else of what I had to say. He wouldn't listen to me, but rather spoke over me most of the time. He became aggressive and I felt very uncomfortable with the discussion. Twice, he tried to make me commit to a date to have him come over and explain what he determined to better than what any other realtor out there would do. He would not discuss his rates, but said he would tell me when I signed the paperwork. He told me he was going to change my mind about realtors. He even referred to himself as my "future Realtor." I told him that I was not at all comfortable with his approach and that I was ending the call. He still did not "get it." He still insisted that he would follow up with me in a few days. I later told him no.
So many red flags with this guy. If anything, he reinforced my feelings about realtors. I still dont trust them and even moreso now. He shot himself in the foot, I'd say.
Every real estate site around is better! Zillow, Trulia, Homes, and local home websites are much better.
I decided to give Realtor.com a shot after having Zillow and it wasn't effective. The Sales guy Rory was so nice and told me that they weren't like Zillow and that I could sign up for 6 months and if I needed to cancel that all I would need to do is call Customer Service and it would be taken care of. When I told him the zip code I wanted, it wasn't available so I went with another zip code. After a week or two he calls me and says the zip code I had originally wanted was available and that he could give me a great deal. Also, that Top Producer would be "included".
Since signing up in October I have only gotten 3 leads which were crap leads. Yesterday, I decided I want to cancel my services so I called Customer Service and some guy named Mike was super rude and told me I couldn't. He also said that if I didn't pay that he would send me to collections. First thing, I never signed a contract, so I don't feel that they should be able to hold any Realtor/Agent to a contract without a signature. Second, I was informed that my 6 month contract wasn't a six month contract but that it is for 12 months. And this Top Producer is also a 12 month contract that I never asked for or wanted.
They will lie to you, so BEWARE! In the beginning they ALL are so helpful and nice, but after they reel you in they no longer care about you as a customer.
I complained to the company many times about lead quality of mostly fake leads, typically mobile homes, lots of scammers who want to chat on WhatsApp. I would get a request for info for the same run-down manufactured home over and over again. Want to complain to them? Hold times are at least an hour, although I have spent as long as 2 hours on hold. They tell you if you don't get your full allotment of leads by the end of your term, you will get a credit at the end. It's not a refund, just a discount on your next purchase. No thanks! They don't share any info about how other brokers are doing with their leads, and the customer service dept. plays dumb about anything that will reveal what the success rate is. The month that my term was expiring, I reached out to the CEO via Linked In and he replied promptly, which I was impressed with, and had someone at management level call me. She patiently listened as I ticked off my list of grievances and she was very nice, but there wasn't much she could do for me. I let her know I would not be renewing. Imagine my surprise when I got two charges on my CC for another month of torture. I had been automatically renewed! I went into my email and found a message in Spam that if I didn't reply by a certain date that I would be re-enrolled. I called and they said they would open a case file and give me a case number (nothing yet) and I sent them a very pointed email (no reply). I cancelled the credit card and opened a dispute so they can't continue to charge anything further (sue me!) I am going to continue to fight until I get my money refunded. I will continue to post on any sites I can to complain about the unauthorized charges. Maybe state AG or FTC.
I signed up for a marketing package years ago. Back around 2007. Part of the program was large full color post cards that would go to certain streets within the zip code I purchased. The quality of the post cards was poor. Thin, flimsy not thick at all, they would arrive tattered. Yes, I included my own address so that I would see the product that was going out on my behalf. I paid for the program for several months, don't remember exactly how long; I ended the contract pre-mature. Several of the leads must have been drinking wine at 2:00 a.m. as they did not remember filling out a form. I did in fact eventually get 1 client, which equated to 1 listing and 1 sale from the leads obtained at the time. My cost was in the mid three hundreds per month. The leads were typical leads you've got to work them a long time (typically years). It takes more than 3 or 4 phone calls. The overall package, the ease at which the plat form worked and the quality of the materials was not good enough. I eventually mailed a return receipt requested letter - I got out of my contract. My basis was "deceptive trade practices"... I think its wrong wrong wrong for NAR, Realtor.com or Move to sell leads back to agents. All leads should go to listing broker end of story. Ive committed since to never pay for another lead ever! I also believe that the Realtor.com plat form should be the same for all. I do not believe that agents should have the right to purchase better pages. Realtor.com is a national MLS for the public. It should all be the same and all of the leads should go to all of the listing brokers. This is a money making machine placed on the backs of hard working agents.
They tell you to hurry up and buy a zip code. After that pay more so you can be the only one to receive the lead. I pay $323.06 a month for one year. I am a top producing realtor and I call all my leads. The vast majority don't even answer the phone. No to mention the other realtors who call me. Then when you call customer service they state that you will get a review when your term is up. By then you have spent alot of money on their lead system. Ask them how many people signed up in this exclusive zip code as they state it. There is no answer. Not to mention if a customer looks in another zip code and click on the home they send that same customer to someone else. Unlike what you get with Zillow. At least they send that client back to you. Who just looks in one zip code. Realtor.com has now become just a money making scam. I want to seek legal advice. If nothing can be done at least all the future realtors can know the truth. I have now given them three chances in six zip codes. One of the zip codes was given to me by sales to try to make me happy. Don't waste your money. Lastly, when you call customer service you will get the same line that they will do a review. Sales will try to make you happy. Yet you are stuck in a contract for six months to a year. Take my advice and find other lead sources. In one month since signing up with Zillow I have received more calls than I have all year with realtor.com. I just spoke to sales and I was promised a call back from management. Not much they will do but at least I can express my opinion. No to mention it may be time for a lawyer. I will keep everyone posted.
Used to be a great app and used it daily in my home search. I have deleted it and will use Zillow until you bring back old all.
I worked with ANDENISE at realtor.com for months until she told me new leads opened and she wasn't there to run my order for new leads and another rep had placed them. First lie I looked at the bottom of the contract her name was all over it. I told her I wanted to cancel and she told me she never ran the order to begin with and that I should cancel because she never ran the order. Foolishly I believed her that canceling my card would cancel the order. NOW I RECIEVE DAILY CALLS TELLING me I owe $3000. She told me this was the opposite of Zillow. Turned out to be exactly the same. Attorneys pleae help
Who in the world thought it would a good idea to remove most of the filters. I won't be using it anymore.
Realtor.com doesn't publish reviews that are negative to agents. They send them back and make you edit them until they turn positive!
Terrible service. Terrible leads. Worst platform ever. Stay away! They charged me to cancel my account and refuse to refund the charges.
Answer: Don't do it! Total scam. They don't allow you to cancel, and don't deliver what they promise. I've wasted $1500 and they want to stick me for another $4500! I signed up for an area with $800k average, but ALL of the leads are for $50 mobile homes. COMPLETE SCAM!
Answer: You can file a claim with the BBB. I am in the process of looking for an attorney. Small claims court is always an option.
Answer: Just be sure you are dealing with a realtor. Do not send any money to anybody at a moneygram account. Just make sure it is a realtor you are working with. Because there are scams out there that ask you to send money pretend to be owner etc. you can always ask for license number and go to trec website and check to see if number is real. Hope that helps.
Answer: I hope that if enough of us post about Realtor.com scamming, defrauding our industry we can stop them, scammed myself, never again, worst customer service I have ever encountered.
