I ordered my typewriter shortly before Christmas and after a day or two I got a call from the company confirming that I ordered the Spanish language version of this typewriter. I said that I must have made a mistake, so he said no problem, they will send me the English version saving me the hassle of a return and delaying the arrival. The machine works great and it arrived before Christmas. Great service guys!
I ordered a Smith Corona Wordsmith 250 from this site last Saturday, May 3rd. I didn\'t get an email confirmation so called the company this morning and was told that product is no longer available. However, my credit card was still charged. The agent said that they would cancel the charges I put on my card. I called my bank and credit card company, but the charges are still pending, which holds up my available credit. I requested to have a limit of $500.00 on my credit card for security reasons, but now my credit is almost maxed out and I need it for medical reasons. I know that they can call my credit card company and tell them to release funds by providing your approval or merchant number. I gave them all the information that they would need to contact my credit card company and asked them to contact me, but I haven't received any response. Cory Olson
Update: After going through a few hoops to reach the CEO, I told him what happened and he said that it would be taken off my credit card in a few days. I said that wasn't good enough. If there were any further delays, I would advertise for the company free of charge, and it wouldn't be a positive ad. That's why I wrote the review. Shortly after the review was published, the company did reimburse me. The whole point was that the company could have corrected it immediately. They never should have advertised and charged for a product they no longer had available. Cory
Tip for consumers:
If you are "scammed" by a company, you can write reviews too. They may help, but be aware that companies have been know to take legal action even if they're totally in the wrong. It could cost you a lot of money to defend yourself, and you'd probably lose because companies have resources that most of us don't have. I was fortunate not to have been a victim from that company again, but just thought you should know what you're risking. If I had to, I'd do it again because companies don't have
