I looked at the app for holiday schedule for Christmas, and it said my pickup was a day later than normal. Put the trash out that day and it was never picked up. Checked the app and it showed my pickup date as the normal day. I thought I was going crazy, then when New Years came, it said a day late again, but I put the trash out anyway. They picked it up on the normal date and when I checked the app it now says my normal day. This is bull. If they are going to change it willy nilly the least they could do would be to send out an email or SMS alert. I will say that they miss my recycle pickup quite regularly as well. They are LITERALLY a trash company.
I pay my bill by the year. In 2014-2016 the cost was around $300 per year. In 2017 to 2020 it went up to about $425 per year. Received my bill this year and it's $647.00! Immediately called a competitor that my neighbors have been using - the cost is $328 per year. Signed up with them and called Republic to cancel service - this was at the end of May. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and then an automated response said "press 1 to receive a call back by the end of the day". I pressed 1 and confirmed by phone number but did not receive a call back. Just received another bill from them - this time charging me for an additional $35. Called them immediately (20 minutes ago), and again waited on hold for 15 minutes and the automated response picked up. I would definitely NEVER recommend this company to anyone. The costs are outlandish and the customer service is horrible.
Beware of Republic services bad business practices. They call and tell you you are behind but your not. Payments mysteriously are not logged to your account. Contracts are renewed even though you have nothing to do with the renewal, signature or knowledge of not required. They tell you what you want to hear but never follow up. Save some money, you pay for Republic who contracts out for other companies to pick up you trash.
Prices kept rising every year, level of service declined. Nothing extra is included, everything costs additional dollars, has to be scheduled well in advance, and they are just difficult to work with. They missed pickups often but never offered any rebates or discounts. Now that I finally managed to cancel service (you can only do that at the end of the month and you have to pay for the additional month) they are charging me $83 to come and pick up the cans. I can't drop them off anywhere because they have closed their facilities to customers due to COVID. And they won't wait until I can drop them off, instead they will send my bill to collections. Total B. S. DO NOT USE THEM!
It has been 3 weeks since our trash has been picked up. They keep saying that they have until 5 pm on the day of trash collection to get it. It's now almost 6, my trash cans are overflowing, we have critters getting into the trash and no answers.
We moved into a new home in pleasant hill. We were told that everyone in the community would be "required" to have the green bin for food waste. We agreed and subsequently put our food waste in it. Well, here we are 5 weeks later and it has only been picked up once and that was 3 weeks ago from now. I have made daily phone calls to them and repeatedly told that they will have someone "pick it up today". Only to find that it is still sitting outside my garage swarmed by flys and stinking to the high heavens. I have been told that a manager would call me and that supervisors were involved but nobody ever called. And now I just watched the truck drive by again. So I will be delivering this van to the republic services office and moving on. But if you have other options, use someone else for your disposal needs.
Republic services, has a money making little scam going. They require you to pay in advance for services. I pay for once a week trash container pickup, that is supposed to be every Monday. About every 4th week when I go down to retrieve my container Monday night, I find it has not been emptied. It is to late to call their customer service, but when I do call on Tuesday morning, I am read the same script, "I will schedule it for Wednesday". Trash is not picked up on Wednesday. So on my call on Thursday the script changes to "I will escalate this to division" of course the pickup never happens. When I call back Friday, I am told my regular scheduled day is Monday (which I already know) and that is when my stinking garbage will be picked up. They have followed this exact same pattern 4 times in the last 5 months.
They are horrible. We have had several times they missed pickup AND their prices are 75% higher than others. Then they argued with me on the phone and tried to compare themselves to a cell phone company when i wanted to cancel them.
I've had several issues with Republic waste. We use them for our trash and yard waste. The have missed either service several times and the price just went from $85 per quarter to $161 per quarter and that is JUST for trash. I already paid in full yard waste. Waited on hold 45 minutes to cancel my service. They said you can only cancel at the end of the month and there is a $30 fee to pick up the cans. Go to a company called Surburban out of Savage. $60 a quarter with no added fees...
You ask for 136.00, plus drop off fee in April, yet you have missed every pick up except 4 of weekly.
Every week its a delay a day, then no show, then this week a delay for a week. I am not buying waste bags or taking the waste to a center. I paid you to pick up the waste!

We had republic for years with numerous issues. They continuously missed pick up dates. We had to call to report these every other week. They always said it was due to inclement weather. The last time I called about this they gave the same excuse. That day it was sunny and 50 degrees. Just a ridiculously bad and untruthful company. There were many times the lazy drivers would just use the arm to pick up the bin but wouldn't take anything that was outside it even though we were allowed to leave stuff next to the bin. The final straw was they missed the last two pick ups so I called to cancel and they tried to charge me a bin pick up fee and one more monthly fee. Unacceptable. I am currently and will continue to get everyone I see using this company to change companies. There are a couple companies in Greenville that will charge almost half their cost and will do a much better job. F them
This is hands down the worst company I have ever come in contact with. Their employees are rude and disrespectful, that goes for their drives and especially the "relationship desk". I called for two months to try and cancel my account where I was given the run around. When my account was finally canceled in July, I then had to call for four more months and my dumpster was finally removed at the end of October. The gentleman at relationship desk laughed at me when I called for the fifth time extremely upset that this had not been resolved. The drivers took the wheels off our dumpster so it could not be moved without our consent. They also called the owner of our company an idiot and bad mouthed him to his face unknowing of who he was. They sent three price increases through to us last year amounting to over $100 without justification. Do not ever use this company.
Terrible customer service telling us whatever we want to hear and ridiculous service of not picking up the trash on at least a 1/4 mile stretch of the road. Several houses are not getting their trash picked up. It's been over 3 weeks and we have called multiple times and each time we are able to get through, after long hold times, we are told the trash is getting picked up that day.
Price gougers, poor service and hard to reach to cancel service. It took 4 weeks holding on line over 15 minutes each time I called to get them to answer their phones. Went up to twice what other companies charge. And service was sloppy and they skipped weeks. Do Not Use This Waste Service. They charge you 30.00 to take your trash can back on the last pick up when canceled.
Missed trash 5 times within month and a half. Promised to call back, never got a call back. Had to wait extremely long time on phone just to get them to come back and get it. They've left the garbage can just laying on the ground blowing trash all over yard. Gave one star because cant give less.
After cancelling because they kept raising my rates and not picking up my trash they tried to charge me $18. I had already cancelled service and gotten an assurance that my bill was fully paid. I couldn't get anybody on the phone or to answer emails about the bill so I ignored it until they threatened to send me to collections. I then involved the better business bureau and attorney generals office and they backed down. All I needed now was for them to pick up my trash and recycling bins. They told me they would be picked up "sometime by august 31". After leaving them out for 2 plus weeks they picked up one of the two bins on August 31. The other one they just left sitting there, right next to where the other one was. Truly the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. 1 star is way more than they deserve.
It is prime time for yard clean up and they missed 2x in June 2022 already? Claiming they sent an e-mail at 9:00. We are supposed to have yard waste out the night before? So it rained and the bags got soggy- their recycling truck stabbed one of the bags tipping over another causing a mess. Next week they picked up. The following week no service again? What is the schedule on their website for and it says every week they pick up. We called customer service and they were rude. No return phone calls and no truck to come and get the bags that we pay for every month.
I was moving and needed to schedule a pick-up of a mattress. I tried to do it online but they're not set up for that. I tried calling several times over the period of a week leading up to my move and each time I was put on hold for several hours before I had to hang up and get on with my life. How does this company stay in business? They're awful.
Jon Vander Ark runs a company worse than a circus on crack. I say he is scum. The people they hire are $#*!s. They are too stupid to pick up my trash while the machine does all the work. Waited 3 days for them To pick up king size mattress. Due to HOA I couldn't leave mattress out for weeks. Hired a guy to take to dump on day 5. Will never leave bulk items out again. It's no wonder Vegas is so rat infested. Worst company.
