Half our township hasn't had their trash picked up. Some for weeks. There are strikes affecting 50 cities because even the employees hate this company. And Republic is the second largest trash company in the country. What happened to free market giving better products and services? This is why regulations happen. Because corporations like Republic services don't do what they've taken tax payers dollars to do. Republic sucks. Jon Vander Ark should be dumping cans instead of screwing customers. Hope you choke on your $4 million salary.
After the Storm we were told to put our damage fencing and neat piles by the curb well I did that it came through they did a first pickup and said it was a first pickup and they picked up some of my neighbors and the following week they passed us by again they didn't pick up our pile well on both trash day they didn't pick it up then the second month came by they didn't pick it up so I called for Miss picked up I called him three times had it scheduled for pickup they said they would pick it up and they didn't I pay for bulk pickup they didn't pick it up then on top of that the driver chooses not to pick up my trash can on regular pickup gets my neighbors on both sides of me but not my can and I pay quarterly auto pay so what's his excuse this time for not picking up my trash apparently he's lazy doesn't want to pick up the boat trash and who knows that might be a different driver so are you hiring nothing but lazy $#*! drivers that don't want to do their job for what we are paying them to pick up I called for Miss pickup on my can and I get they'll be out there the next day well guess what I get home the can is still there go figure
This is the worst trash company, if something fell from the basket or put another basket the don't take it.

This company only cares about the stock holders, and investors. They do not care one bit about their employees. They think all their money comes from the stock holders, and investors. They have hard working employees, who get zero recognition for their hard work. They are forgotten, treated worse than the trash that gets picked up. The managers do nothing to fix problems, but will write you up and fire you in a instant, if you are not making numbers, so they can get their super fat ******* to ******* dollar a year bonuses. They treat all the drivers like uneducated, steering wheel holders. They give bad excuses for why pay raises are terrible. They will insult your intelligent to a level that is laughable, if you were not so mad. No matter how many new standards they give you, if you exceed those standards. Do not expect to see a EXCEEDS on your employee performace report. NO! You get the excuse of, you can only get a exceeds if your ready to move up. But it takes next to nothing, to get written up, and get a does not meet on your reivew. You could forget one tiny thing, and it will get any Merit raise taken away. Why SO CORPRATE OFFICE CAN THEN REPORT... a SAVINGS ON THEIR PROFIT REPORT... so MORE DING BATS WILL INVEST. Unless you are in dire need of work, or need some way to take care of your family, go do anything else but drive for this company.

Go anywhere else, They charge insane prices for their pick ups. Use a local mom and pop trash company. Or take it to the landfill in a UHAUL, it would be 10x cheaper.

I've had this service for 3 months and they have only picked up my trash once. Every time I called to inquire about the missed pick ups, they said they were short on drivers and assured me they'd come the following week. This went on for months, leaving me without a pick up for months. I ended up ordering a 2nd trash can because the lack of pick ups caused my trash to have a serious back log. Be it as it may, I called to cancel service a month ago, and they're still charging me for service I never had. When I called to find out why I'm still getting charged, they said they had no record of me calling to cancel and that if I did, they would see my number that I called or that my called would have been recorded. I asked to speak to the supervisor and she put me on a long hold so that she could listen to all of my calls; after a long hold, she came back and stated the last call that she had was August 4th, when I asked for an additional garbage can. She had no record of me ever calling after that from my phone number; which is a lie. I'm able to prove that. I have a call log from my Carrier showing a 9 minute conversation from my number to the following number: *******801 on August 11th, at 3:19 PM. I gave her the benefit of a doubt that perhaps it was a misunderstanding, but I knew full well that she was being shady once she brought up that I mentioned in another call that I had a party at my house and that was part of the reason for my overflow of garbage. She didn't mention in that same call that I was complaining because they hadn't picked up my garbage in weeks. She had selective hearing and was intent on ripping me off rather than working the situation out in a just and honest manner. Having a shortage of employees is forgivable. But being shady, dishonest, deceitful and unprofessional will drive this company to the ground. Instead of trying to work things out to try to retain a customer who could have potentially stayed on board with them for years to come (making them far more revenues from me in the long term), they seem only interested in a short term rip off. Very Bad business.

I don't even know where to start. From them raising the price, their rude customer service, or their frequently missed pickups all issues that they have yet to change. On average my trash gets missed once a month. I usually let it slide unless my trash is full or it's summer and stuff starts to smell. Well last week it was supposed to go on Thursday. I reported a missed pick up Friday in the evening. Since it was a holiday week I figured they were a day behind. Well still no pick up so Monday I call, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. And same excuse every time. "You're on the list they will pick it up today" well 3 more days still never picked up my trash. I live in the country so from trash to sit by the road from Thursday til Wednesday I can't tell you how many times I had to clean up the trash from all over the ground from animals getting into it. I asked each time if I can over flow the trash because I have so many trash bags that need taken out. They said nope you only pay for the container. Even though they are the ones that missed my pick up I can't even add more trash that wouldn't allow the can to over flow. It's such a head ache dealing with this company. I called again this morning being Wednesday and the girl on the phone told me I was already called this morning and told they will not be picking it up. I was never called. Why would they tell me yesterday to give them til 7pm and yet as of this morning they canceled my pick up. She stated my pickup was canceled because it's been 6 days they'll be back tmmro to pick it up. WHAT A JOKE. I've picked up all that trash by my can day by day so the person picking up my trash didn't have to just for them to not come for 6 days. Also won't take money off my account for skipping this week. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Save your money. Hell I would even pay another company more that would be worth the weekly pick up

Another unexplained rate hike $20 this time. No information online. Tried online chat but just computerized BS. On hold 28 minutes. Fed up and now have another service available so called them. Answered by person within 10 rings and asked to please hold. Back in 2 minutes! Explained I was looking into their senior rates. $35.00 cheaper! Told there would be delay on container due to shipment issues since COVID. Told I can use can or just set bags at curb by 6:30am Mondays. Once I have container there is no problem if an occasional extra bag is set on the side. Republic just leaves it because they would jave to physically get out of truck. Signed up on Wed. Service start Mon. Now to cancel Republic. Tried 4 phone numbers on hold over 25 minutes EACH! Last number finally was able to leave number for call back. Demanded it be same day as I wasn't paying current bill due next day. Very polite guy called back. He did try to see if there were reductions available. I explained I was not interested as everytime I had been told a new surcharge was needed and they don't give senior discounts. He started to say something and I politely stopped him. Explained this was not a reflection on him, but the company plain sucks. Told him I already had new service arranged. He then started my cancellation. He confirmed I owed nothing on my bill. Says bin pickup will not be possible until the following week. Then says a bill for the pickup and I started to laugh. I said they are going to charge ME to pickup THEIR container because I CANCELLED FOR RIDICULOUS RATE HIKE? He said yes. I laughed again and assured him I wasn't laughing at him. I said well they can try but I'm NOT PAYING IT! I said I'm glad this is being recorded cause this is for corporate TAKE THAT BILL AND STICK IT! Thanked. The gentleman and said I hope he's paid well. PS still haven't done pickup
Their sales rep convinced our property manager they were easy to work with and started service without a signed contract to see how it goes with them. A few months later, in response to the manager asking for an additional dumpster or pick up, called our manager up and casually said she needed to sign a contract and with the friendly and easy going relationship and trust built, they downplayed the 3 year contract with very undesirable terms for the customer and lead my manager to believe that she would be taken care of and still expect the type of relationship they have already built and convinced her to sign. As time went on they have been difficult to deal with and in recent months leading up to what we thought was our expiration date and giving the proper notice, we were notified the contract expires several months later. The only communication they entertain is towards trying to convince you to extend or sign new contracts to get fixed rates for a year with the same vague language putting the customer at risk of whatever charges they wish to charge for the remaining years in the term. They have increased pricing aggressively several times after we have expressed our issues with their service and declined to sign new lease terms that were again unfavorable and not competitive with both national and regional competitors. Please take these reviews seriously and at least review their contract and dont listen to the sales people convince you things dont apply or that they are flexible. Reading the other reviews further emphasizes their predatory business model/policies and contract is designed entirely to keep the customer trapped in very long term contracts that will escalate costs aggressively while in term and also auto renew on technicalities if proper notice is not given in a certain window of time for an additional 3 years. They have total control on what they want to charge you for service without any reason and without any defined or reasonable limit to the increased rates. We would add more evidence about ourselves and our situation but it is not in our interest as legal action may be imminent. The company threatens legal action and damages in the first response to you requesting to terminate an agreement. So please take the reviews seriously and avoid this company. There are many other good companies in this space that do care about providing a good service with fair terms and pricing.

Our waste management is handled by our HOA with another company, and that company does not have recycling pickup in our area. The only company that services recycling in my area is Republic. I noticed that some of our neighbors had recycling pickup, so I called Republic one day to inquire about their recycling service (cost, schedule, basic information). A few weeks later, I called back to sign up. They stated both times that recycling service would be $20 a month, and that they would pickup every other Friday. They would be dropping off my container the following Friday. Great, sign me up!
The following Friday arrives, no container is dropped off. I wait another Friday, and finally call customer service, they act surprised, "aren't sure what happened," and say it will be dropped off the following Friday. The next Friday, we finally receive our container, that clearly says "TRASH" on the top. At this point, we have our recycling piling up, so I go ahead and put the recycling into that container, and put it on the curb. Luckily, they flip the lid first to verify it's recycling, then load it into the truck. Things are fine with pickup after that.
I received my first bill, and noticed that they had included waste pickup charges. This bill was $37, and with the holidays, getting through on the phone was nearly impossible, so I go ahead and pay it. I receive the next bill two months later for $70, again with the waste removal. Republic never dropped off another waste receptacle, and they have never come to pick our trash, only the recycling. So I call. After 15 minutes I get through, and then they transfer me to a "consultant." This consultant tells me that in my area, we cannot have a recycling-only contract, that it requires both waste and recycling. No one ever mentioned that to me, in either the time I called for information, or the time that I signed up. Not a thing was mentioned about waste pickup being required to have the recycling service. So now they are telling me that I can either sign up for waste pickup through them (which is outrageously priced from the discount we receive through our HOA) or they can cancel my service, they will come and pick up my receptacle, and I will get a call back on my adjusted bill. Based on the conversation I had with the consultant, it is pretty obvious they had no interest in keeping my business.
Republic, I think you need to educate your new service associates on filling customers in on not allowing recycle-only contracts in their area. They had my address, this should be something they could easily look up and mention before putting customers through all of this headache, and providing you with yet another one-star review.

I fired Republic - Crestwood because they simply could not close the lids on the containers after the weekly pickup and showed a consistant practice of overbilling nearly every other month making excuses of bulk items, etc. Beware as they lure you to automate your invoice and payment so this behavior goes unchecked!
Commercial service was cancelled and three weeks later they're looking for a additional $125 to pickup their OWN dumpster!

This is not an place where we are in a need of a compromise. There was no signed contract for this exact reason - extortion on exit.
If you check our very first invoice (attached) ************** dated 9/20/2019 there is a full credit for delivery of the containers $159.50 x 2. Lisa should remember the conversation where I did not agree to any of your supplemental charges: delivery, exchange, relocate, extra lift & pickup, as they are all your cost to obtain my business. This is just one of many reasons why I would not sign your binding agreement that contained those items.
To say that I am frustrated is an extremely condescending statement. In fact, my feelings are exactly complete and extreme disappointment in Republic's operations. A culture of overcharging policies in practice and the lack connected communication by Republic's staff is a very mob-like outdated practice usually found in 1970's New York City sanitary contracts. I would appreciate it if you would see to it to clear the account balance immediately. I really do not want to continue writing emails, attaching invoices & agreements, writing reviews, etc. but I will if you cannot see to ending this symphony of a bad relationship on one singular positive note.

The delivery credit you received was part of a promotion that we were doing at that time. Since there was not a signed agreement in place, your removal fee defaulted to our standard rate and we do not have anything contractually stating that you are not responsible to pay the removal fee. Since this service has already been rendered and we did not have a contract in place with you, we are not able to remove the $125 fee from your account.
I apologize that you feel disappointed with our operations. As a business owner, I am sure that you understand that there are true fees that come along with sending a union driver out to remove a container – this is a standard practice in any service industry in which services have been rendered. While we cannot remove the $125 fee...

In the past 2-3 yrs, this company has declined with missed pick ups/ late pickups and leaving the cans sitting a little in our narrow streets. I have recently 'tried' to cancel--before the next quarter period of pickups. I talked to about 4 people in all (getting them on the phone is a huge pain), starting with the first 'customer service' person who said she could not help me w/the billing, but would put through the cancellation for the end of that month. I started getting robo/collecitons calls, so called and eventually got to (should have been billing) a rude 'sales' dept person, who said she would put through the cancellation now--it was still before the end of the month, and would pick up the container 1 wk later on my regular p/u day and to put the can out for them. I put the EMPTY can 2/3 of the way UP my driveway so the regular trash people would know not to pick up. It was p/u'd later that day which was into the next quarter period.
I was told the p/u can would be $30---then I get an inv for $33 PLUS the next quarter/3 months for trash pick up. It looks like nothing was cancelled---I cancelled per their own wesite so as not to incur the next quarters billing--but am still getting robo/collection calls. FYI: The past year of trying to pay by phone automated system has been a joke---they kept showing I owed a little bit, a little bit there and I don't know why.
Per their own website: so your cancellation will be effective as of the last day of the month in which you cancel. For example, if you cancel service on March 15, your operating subsidiary will process your cancellation to be effective on March 30, which is also when they will remove your waste container(s)
I cancelled with 2 different people BEFORE the next quarter period. I don't know what else I could do to get away from this company! Except for picking up the can, they have not addressed ANY of my other concerns. I have been using their service for many years, and this is how they CHOOSE to treat a senior citizen? I am now taking my own trash out the county location which is very simple and close to home---why didn't I do this years ago (or always) since my taxes are paying for it whether I want it or not.

So to start off with I'm an easy customer. Hardly have a full trash, always have my can at the end of the drive way and pay on time. Wish I could say the same about Republic. The one time I have a full trash they don't pick up. I put a ticket in for missed trashed and normally get it picked up within 24 hours. Nothing. Put in another ticket. 24 hours. Nothing. Get off work early to call them during "office hours" to be SCOLDED that because I put in two tickets them picking it up Friday was cancelled to have pick up on Monday. (How that makes sense if I'm on the pick up list why remove me to put me on a pick up list) but fine. Monday comes and goes and my trash is still not picked up. Call again. Told nothing they can do will come Tuesday. Tuesday comes nothing. I now have full can PLUS another week of trash building up in house in Amazon boxes and garage. There answer well we will pick up your normal day. Really will you? Cause I don't believe you at this point. What about all my extra trash. Well we will have them come twice for you Wednesday. Why not come now? Well put extra next to can? Oh put bags of trash where animals can get into it? I had to go BUY an extra trash can for them to pick up the trash and then when they come a WEEK LATE they don't pick it all up. Trash is all over my curb and IN MY YARD! IN MY YARD. The trash wasn't even mine that was in my yard. So incredibly lazy. I got every excuse in the book. Landfills full. Trucks are full. Short staff. Route delays. COVID. Funny my parents have Republic with a city contract and they have no delays or issues. Then again that's 500 people contract 5 miles from me. Told them that and asked why they pick and choice who they service... Dead silence. Then to make matters worse after cancelling them OVER TWO AND HALF WEEKS AGO AND MY ACCOUNT SHOWS INACTIVE... THEY CHARGE MY ACCOUNT FOR SEPTEMBER! I CANCELLED SO AUGUST (THE LAST MONTH I PAID FOR) WOULD BE MY LAST MONTH WITH THEM AND THEY CHARGE MY ACCOUNT! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
