Half our township hasn't had their trash picked up. Some for weeks. There are strikes affecting 50 cities because even the employees hate this company. And Republic is the second largest trash company in the country. What happened to free market giving better products and services? This is why regulations happen. Because corporations like Republic services don't do what they've taken tax payers dollars to do. Republic sucks. Jon Vander Ark should be dumping cans instead of screwing customers. Hope you choke on your $4 million salary.
After the Storm we were told to put our damage fencing and neat piles by the curb well I did that it came through they did a first pickup and said it was a first pickup and they picked up some of my neighbors and the following week they passed us by again they didn't pick up our pile well on both trash day they didn't pick it up then the second month came by they didn't pick it up so I called for Miss picked up I called him three times had it scheduled for pickup they said they would pick it up and they didn't I pay for bulk pickup they didn't pick it up then on top of that the driver chooses not to pick up my trash can on regular pickup gets my neighbors on both sides of me but not my can and I pay quarterly auto pay so what's his excuse this time for not picking up my trash apparently he's lazy doesn't want to pick up the boat trash and who knows that might be a different driver so are you hiring nothing but lazy $#*! drivers that don't want to do their job for what we are paying them to pick up I called for Miss pickup on my can and I get they'll be out there the next day well guess what I get home the can is still there go figure
For the last 8 months I have been trying to end service with Republic Services because we tore down our house. Returned our container and have not have garbage picked up for 8 months.
They actually owed me credit back since we prepaid with auto deduct, and therefore needed 2 months refunded. Customer service agreed they see we stopped service, they noticed we returned cart, but would not stop billing. It is still an ongoing situation that is very frustrating and I still need help to bring and end this somehow.
I talk to multiple people when I call every 2-3 weeks and each one has said they took care of my billing issue, they end the call giving me "confirmation number" that means absolutely nothing when I do my follow up call.
Please never use let Republic Service!
Ever since we moved to our new home, we been dealing with our bins being damaged by drivers... trash on the street that we had to pick up ourselves... we been waiting since wed for our green bin to be empty out but nothing... seriously disappointed and how expensive things are right now they seriously need to get there **** together before more customers cancel their services
We've lived here for more than 20 years and have NEVER had service like this. After 7 times of being missed we finally cancelled our service more than 2 weeks ago. Can is still outside. Yesterday they came and emptied the empty can BUT left it. That was a first to have them actually come on the right day to empty it -- although we were waiting to have the can picked up after cancelling service. Read these reviews, choose another service. I can't believe they're still in business...
I was a customer for 21 years. Suddenly at the end of May 2021 our garbage was not picked up. After researching on the company web site and after over an hour on the phone I was told that Republic had terminated service in our area without any notice. It took a month to get Republic to remove its 96 gal. Container. Republic bills in advance for 3 month period. Service was terminated less than one month into the cycle for which I had automatically paid 3 months in advance. 5 weeks later, even though I have complained several times, no refund. The company claims that I will get a refund within 6 more weeks. So they keep customer money for capital indefinitely. This is how they treat 21 years of customer loyalty.

This is my 7th week having paid for yard waste pickup. They have picked up my waste 3 times, BUT only after a total of 25 phone calls! This week they did not come at all and I called them. The rep said a supervisor would call me, never happened. I have been promised this multiple times but never happens. I thought it was a computer glitch and perhaps that didn't place me on the pickup route. I have been assured over and over, "no you are on the list for pickup". No one can tell why my waste is never picked up. Now I keep the cam out from Wednesday till Saturday, even though pickup is Wednesday. When I call, "Oh, they'll pick it up on Thursday or Friday". I pull the full cab of years waste back to my house to go through the same exact thing the next week. I am calling the Better Business Bureau because they have no problem collecting money from me for services that are not provided!
Republic Services mails a calendar with their observed holidays to all of their customers each year. The same calendar can be accessed online at their website.
The only problem is that Republic services does not stick to their own schedule. They make un-announced changes to the holiday schedule, fail to mail out updated calendars and neglect to update the pdf calendar on their website.
The trash collectors are polite and professional. Customer service on the phone is great (when you eventually get through). But, missing your trash pickup because you adhered to the schedule THEY created (yet ignored) is frustrating. I'm dragging a bag of baby-diapers that sat out in the heat waiting for trash pickup, back into my garage until it can be picked up.
Since June 2022, it has become normal to have trash pick ups every 2 weeks. Over 3 weeks in August, and still have not picked up. Reason is "all" of their trucks are broke down(for 3 weeks?). Don't pay for this service, they do not provide the services that you pay in advance.
Told us it was $150 to pick dumpster up plus weight. We were then charged $750 deposit. The do send a contract which i should have read instead of letting office sighn. I have been charged over $1000 to get rid of $200 worth of trash. I am making a video of everything. Now after telling them to take dumpster they dropped another one off while we were off for memorial day 4 day weekend so the can try to charge me another $500!

Republic stole hundreds of trash cans that were owned by citizens of our community after the city cancelled their contract. They had no list to collect cans that were being rented, just took them all regardless of what company it had in it or if there was none at all. They refuse to take accountability or return the stolen cans.

Just because you say its a agreement its not an agreement unless it is a signed agreement, which there is none! Verbal agreements are not legal either, when no one informs us of specific charges.

There has been no yard waste pickup in our subdivision for more than three weeks. My neighbors and I have made multiple calls to customer service, in some cases (including my own) escalating the complaint through several layers of management trying to obtain satisfaction. My neighbors and I have received promises that someone was owning the problem and would be following up by telephone soon but no follow-up calls have been received and the yard waste is piling up around the neighborhood. Many of us are considering legal action at this point.
I had been a customer with A-Waste for years until later run now by Republic Services. Wait times if you have a question are terrible and worst customer service. There is no caring. Picked up my can even though I paid my bill and charged me $30 for pickup on my normal trash pickup day. This can was over 12 years old and was not in good condition when I got it. And then when I called about it they did not care. Not willing to budge on removing that charge. Customer service means a lot but there is none here.
Found GRANGER for my new service and they are great and so nice!
Ordered a dumpster for a site clean up over a week from the start date of the job. Paid them their fees they requested. Called them back 2 days prior to the drop off date to confirm everything was good. Got the confirmation everything was a go. Well sitting here all day today waiting for this dumpster and no show so I call them and they tell me that it is not being delivered because of paperwork problems. Do not I repeat do not use these clowns. You will loose time on the job
Our city contracts with Republic Services for refuse collection. Their drivers occasionally neglect to pick up our garbage. They have no interest in correcting their mistake probably because they have a monopoly. Incredibly frustrating experience dealing with these guys. Avoid them if possible.
Called to cancel account. They tried to give me a cheaper rate but i told them i was in bad health and i couldnt afford the rates. The agent told me he would take care of it. Its been 2 months and the dumpster is still here. I got a bill for 600.00 dollars and it just keeps going up. I am retired and on fixed income. I guess i will spend my last days in jail. Because i cant afford to pay the bill. Dont trust this company. RUN
I would give this company zero stars if I could. Our waste company was bought out by Republic and the service has been awful since day 1. First, they never show up to pick up the trash. Second, when you call to speak with someone in customer service it is a 45 minute wait to speak to a real person. I've spoken to 3 people over the past month and they all say they are taking care of the issue just to have to call the next person and find out they didn't. They want to turn us into collections because I haven't paid my bill however the bill is for services that I didn't receive because I had already cancelled with the company. Poor Customer Service. Poor communication. I honestly don't know how they are still in business.
I am very disappointed in this service, someone put on top of my container a small mattress and they charge me a Recycling overage fee 301$! When I called, I was given advice from customer service to put a notice that no one can through garbage. Wow like it's going to help! It's ridiculous! I will definitely change company because paying each time when someone will leave their trash will make me poorer and them very very rich with their fees!
My bill was raised soon after beginning service. Talked to 3 different people and the last person (in sales) was rude and unable to sufficiently explain why I could not keep my initial rate. She said she had worked there 7 years and could not help me because she had no other rate to offer. Even if this was true, her voice and attitude suggested she could not care less about keeping me as a customer. I will be changing to another company next quarter.
Here we go again, last week they didn't pick up garbage, a few days later.so this week, went down one side of road, pick up their garbage, mine is still out there. This has been and issues. Poor service, not reliable. Nothing seem to get fix.the company wants their money, but this is the kind of service, I have to pay for. Discussed.
They continue to raise prices but miss pickups monthly. Over the past 2 months they have missed 4 weeks. I have now hired a new company for this service and they will not come get their dumpster. I have called them 3 times each time being told "someone will contact you" since the personnel answering the phones cannot cancel the service. No call back. This is the worst service from any company I have ever dealt with. If you have any choice at all do not do business with this company.
They were so random that trash pick up was more like a lottery than a paid service. My wife and I had the "do you think Republic will pick up today" more than you would think possible. So we changed services along with most of the folks in our subdivision who used them. Then they were three weeks late picking up their bins and charged us for the privilege.

I moved into this house a month ago and they still can't get it right. They have passed me up almost every time. I've called at least 10 times in the month I was here. All the neighbors get their needs met but not me. This is the worst trash company ever. I'm sorry I had to leave Best trash.
On a scale from 1 to 10 I would have to give them a solid negative 213. I haven't seen the requirements to become an employee, but I know you have to be lazy as F#@%, and a pathological liar. If you want your trash to sit at the end of your driveway and not get picked up, then this is the most qualified company to do that job for you. I have had an account with Republic Services for many years and had no trouble until December 2021. We have 2 trash cans and one recycle can and either none are dumped, 2 or dumped and once all three. I have called Customer Service at least a dozen times and cannot get this resolved. I am really at a loss what to do. I am sure paying my bill to them in this fashion would not be tolerated!
I have two accounts with Republic Services and the St. Louis account has added $100 and more per billing cycle for a Total Fuel/Environmental Recovery Fee whereas my other location has not. Both use the same diesel fuel, both use the same trucks, both locations has the same number of pick ups. When I called, I received mumbo jumbo as a response, to the point it was comical. There are other companies that haul trash, Republic Services acts like it is the only company in town. I will take my business elsewhere since I can no longer trust their billing practices. Too bad that I like the person who picks up my trash, but I cannot tolerate deceptive billing.
