Half our township hasn't had their trash picked up. Some for weeks. There are strikes affecting 50 cities because even the employees hate this company. And Republic is the second largest trash company in the country. What happened to free market giving better products and services? This is why regulations happen. Because corporations like Republic services don't do what they've taken tax payers dollars to do. Republic sucks. Jon Vander Ark should be dumping cans instead of screwing customers. Hope you choke on your $4 million salary.
After the Storm we were told to put our damage fencing and neat piles by the curb well I did that it came through they did a first pickup and said it was a first pickup and they picked up some of my neighbors and the following week they passed us by again they didn't pick up our pile well on both trash day they didn't pick it up then the second month came by they didn't pick it up so I called for Miss picked up I called him three times had it scheduled for pickup they said they would pick it up and they didn't I pay for bulk pickup they didn't pick it up then on top of that the driver chooses not to pick up my trash can on regular pickup gets my neighbors on both sides of me but not my can and I pay quarterly auto pay so what's his excuse this time for not picking up my trash apparently he's lazy doesn't want to pick up the boat trash and who knows that might be a different driver so are you hiring nothing but lazy $#*! drivers that don't want to do their job for what we are paying them to pick up I called for Miss pickup on my can and I get they'll be out there the next day well guess what I get home the can is still there go figure
Very polite but ineffective customer service. The most recent situation with Republic surrounds the use of biodegradable bags. The website states "biodegradable" bags and shows an instructional video of a man using "plastic" green biodegradable bags as the proper way to dispose of yard waste. Before I purchased the same bags I called and asked their customer service if they were acceptable; they said they were. However, Republic customer service is national. The local crews will not pick them up. We've had other issues with Republic as well. They have failed to pick up. They often leave the trash bins in the street or in a position blocking the driveway. Just all around bad service.
On yesterday 08/18/22 I put my trash can out that had several bags of trash so the dogs don't get it. The workers threw away the hold damn trash can on today 08/19/22 I call to report it been nice, polite with all most respect about the situation to only be told unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about it. Now if I would have called been a $#*!, rude, disrespectful, etc. I would have gotten something done like my trash can replaced. Sometimes it plays to be disrespectful.
Your company lost the bid for the city I live in and you charge each residence $44 PER bin for removal? Are you kidding me? Absolutely ridiculous. Not only did you take the money we were supposed to get back for the remainder of our ALREADY PAID FOR quarterly bill, but you add 60 on top of that.
Previously they dropped recycling pickup to every other week without dropping price at all.

I've never made a negative post about a business before but this was so over the top I felt I have too.
I have not had a pickup in 4 weeks! I've called and reported numerous times being promised for next pickup and they have not showed! Very disappointed in their services and would not recommend this company to anyone! I've had ongoing issues with missed pickup since being a customer with them! As you can see my 4 weeks of missed pickups!

Truck ran into my building and ripped off a door and still wont return calls!
It was a hit and run, they never contacted to let me know they did it. Luckily both incidents were caught on camera.

Someone left a mattress on top of our dumpster and the driver came to empty it. You can see in the photos that he set the dumpster down right on top of the mattress and left it all over the alley. We've called 3 days in a row now and we are unable to get anyone out to fix this for us. It looks terrible! They just tell you they are going to dispatch someone to get you off the phone.
Republic Services miss my home trash, recycle, and yard waste pickup OFTEN. Frequently when I call I am on hold over 25 minutes and I must hang up and go back to work. Then I must hold my items for another week. Last summer I was missed 6 weeks in a row. I did get through customer service a couple of times and I was told to leave it out and I would be picked up the next day. Only 1 time out of the 6 did that happen. I bet if I only paid my bill one- sixth of the time that would be addressed.

We just bought a house here in Marion and when I got my first bill of 345.00 I almost hit the floor. When I called to ask about my bill for these insane charges that they put on my bill, which one of them in the amount of 122.00 for total fuel / environmental recovery fee, I asked what this was and in a rude manner I was told that I'm to pay for the fuel of the trucks along with any tires or mechanical problems. I lost my ever loving mind. I asked why my neighbor was paying a different amount and I got NO answer. All I was told is it can either go up or down. Mind you they also never picked up our recycling twice. I was on hold for over 40 min and all I was told was that's the way it is. Needless to say I will be trying to find another provider. How can they get away with charging people different prices for the same fee. DO NOT USE THEM. Oh and I will be dropping the cans off myself. They want to charge me another 120.00 to pick them back up
The City forces us to do business with these morons. After we moved a month ago we tried to call them several times to close our account. Even after being on hold for over an hour, still nobody to answer the phone. We have tried this several times at different days and times. Always with the same result: "Someone will be with you shortly"

Republic services will raise your prices with no notice. When you call and ask for a reason, they say price of services went up in the area. Apparently they go up every bill you get. They also will miss your garbage frequently. The driver has blamed me for him missing my garbage. Any garbage company would be cheaper and better service then Republic Services.
I have been with them for over 10 years in the last 4 months they missed seven pickups. I have two cans. I have called them over 15 times. I have emailed them over 6 or 7 times. I actually had a manager call me a month ago saying they would take care of it and let me dump my hundred plus bags at their transfer station 2 miles from my home. All of a sudden he didn't take my calls anymore. I paid a little garbage collection company to take my debris and it cost me $45. I've asked them to credit me for one month and they said OG sorry we can't do it. After talking to someone finally today after being on hold over 21 minutes I told them to come get their garbage cans I will do like the other 35 out of 70 people on this county Island and go to waste management. This company is a joke
This company is really garbage. They always over charge me for the trash can is not covered properly. I paid lock fee, and still over charge me. I called Customer service, they told me, they Manager will call me back to fix my bill. But I never receive call from him. It has been three months. Now they even not doing the pickup Service any more.
Tried to cancel account on January 7th, called customer service, been asked all of the information as account number, name, email address, phone number. After confirm every detail, if you think your service should been cancelled, then I told you it's a joke, NO WAY. I keep calling about 5 months, no one in the phone call can deal with this, I called more than 100 times, every time been told someone would call me to deal with this. No, no one would call you, but still charged from your account every month. Then you call back, same circulate. Until now it's been more than 5 months, I've been charged 5 months more, still no one can deal with it. Don't use Republic Service for your business, if you don't want to get a lot lot lot trouble in the future...
They ran my debit card 3 different times in one month. When I tried to get them to pick dumpster up from location. They billed me for another 3 months. The manager on the local staff team actually told me to stop payment or I would continue to be build. After signing documents to close out the account they sent another bill two months later that I'm having to fight so it doesn't go against my credit. This company is the epitome of a nightmare! Two weeks previous to my home renovation I filled out "all necessary documents " which was required before my deposit of $500 dollars was taken out of my account and dumpster was scheduled to be delivered.
- The day before my scheduled dumpster delivery a customer service agent called and said there was one extra document I needed to sign and she would send it over. It was never sent which caused my dumpster to be delivered two days late and two days of wasted time trying to track down any one who knew what form needed to be sent. A few customer service people I spoke with insisted the dumpster was delivered to my house and was on time!
- The money was immediately taken out though!
- The document not being sent was a mistake on their part!
- The two day delay cost me money and time!
The company has zero accountability and suggested that the mix up was MY fault!

I have now tried three times to call customer service at Republic, with an aggregate wait time of more than an hour with absolutely no response. Even though I scheduled a bulk pick up online, I received an email saying that I had to call customer service to authorize the service and charge. What sense does that make? I have been a customer for more than 10 years and service has never been this bad. I'm out of here. Tom M.

Im sick of them leaving my trash it happens atleast twice a month. I damn near feel its intentional. How is everyone else trash gone from the alley except mine. Indianapolis needs to contract a new and better trash service.
I am surprised this company is still in business. They overcharge for services that can be gotten elsewhere 85% cheaper. They admittedly have overcharged my company on multiple occasions and I have spent hours over the years questioning bills, explaining issues and getting adjustments. They also will renew your "3 yr" contract with them without saying a word to you so be sure to set reminders on cancellation procedures and timelines. Thank GOD our County passed an ordinance saying we can drop all trash contracts at the end of this month so I can finally be done with this utter nightmare.

I was run over by RS ten years ago and was nearly killed. I wont say what occured as it would make it clear to the company who is writting this review. A major lawsuit occured and I won. Years later after moving from the site they nearly killed me at, they purposely take their lunch breaks outside my new gated home, revving the engine. I told management, yet it still occurs just across the street. Now they skip picking up cans in 95° weather. Its a monopoly and a dangerous one at that. They even killed a little girl here in the town I live so please be careful. The drivers are not background checked as far as they should be.
I have my trash dumped every other week... I paid in December for January. It was delayed from Tuesday to Wednesday, the truck was here this morning doing my neighbors. My trash was not dumped... I am thinking about finding a new company. Jeez republic how hard is it to dump all the trash on a street... the driver sat in front of my house 30 minutes, so I'm sure it was dumped... NOPE! 8 YEARS IM OVER IT.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Republic Services for your waste disposal services. We manage many apartment complexes in different counties in NJ and have been using their services for over 3 years. My account representative, Nathan Santlofer, has been a pleasure to deal with. Phone calls are always returned in a prompt manner and Nathan is quick to address any problems that may occasionally arise. If you need fast, efficient service at a fair price for trash removal, do not hesitate to use Republic Services.
Heed my warning never ever use Republic Services. I would give them no stars if possible. They are by far the worst company to deal with on all aspects. The service is horrible! The invoices continually increase. Driver's truck leaked oil on our driveway. They made me send a certified cancelation letter 3 months in advance of cancelation date. They charged us a removal pickup fee that was not in the contract. They tried to charge me another month after they had picked up our bin the previous month. Republic Services is double what most other companies charge. There is no customer service. All they care about is the money. A supervisor was supposed to call me back and no one ever did. Just an awful company!
I used to have Ace disposal that was bought out by Republic. In the past 2 years my bill went up and is now doubled what it was 2 years ago. They price gouge you all the time with misc charges. Do not use this service, you will regret it. When I finally cancelled, they actually charged me $60 to come and get their own cans, unreal!

Horrible company. We are being punished with huge fees for daring to move and cancel services for our small dumpster. We've had Republic for almost 16 years. They let me cancel on the phone least weekend and I paid up the last bill. They told me dumpster would be removed. Then 10 days later I get an email claiming they tried to call (lie) and demanding a certified letter stating we are canceling. And they want SIX MONTHS of payments for nothing. And the new owners now have a lovely dumpster they don't want to decorate their driveway. Republic must be desperate to extort money from moving customers. Run.
