Half our township hasn't had their trash picked up. Some for weeks. There are strikes affecting 50 cities because even the employees hate this company. And Republic is the second largest trash company in the country. What happened to free market giving better products and services? This is why regulations happen. Because corporations like Republic services don't do what they've taken tax payers dollars to do. Republic sucks. Jon Vander Ark should be dumping cans instead of screwing customers. Hope you choke on your $4 million salary.
After the Storm we were told to put our damage fencing and neat piles by the curb well I did that it came through they did a first pickup and said it was a first pickup and they picked up some of my neighbors and the following week they passed us by again they didn't pick up our pile well on both trash day they didn't pick it up then the second month came by they didn't pick it up so I called for Miss picked up I called him three times had it scheduled for pickup they said they would pick it up and they didn't I pay for bulk pickup they didn't pick it up then on top of that the driver chooses not to pick up my trash can on regular pickup gets my neighbors on both sides of me but not my can and I pay quarterly auto pay so what's his excuse this time for not picking up my trash apparently he's lazy doesn't want to pick up the boat trash and who knows that might be a different driver so are you hiring nothing but lazy $#*! drivers that don't want to do their job for what we are paying them to pick up I called for Miss pickup on my can and I get they'll be out there the next day well guess what I get home the can is still there go figure
We all know the world is short-staffed right now. I can empathize and understand the current situation... But what I can't understand is rude customer service on the phone... I'll be taking my business elsewhere when my contract is up. This is what 3 weeks of trash not being picked up looks like.
I had occasion to schedule a bulk pick-up. It was originally scheduled for a Friday. It stayed on the curb for three days. I called and the rep intentionally kept me on the phone repeatedly saying she was "pulling up my account" and I had to stay on the phone. This is not the first time I've experienced this kind of behavior. The practice of keeping people on the phone to frustrate and eventually give up, Repeatedly told "this is how I was trained." Given the amount of bad reviews, my assumption is Republic prides themselves with this policy. It is reprehensible.
The person picking up the trash did not even notice the lock bar was malfunctioning, and wasn't allowing the trash to empty out. He would just put the container back down with all the trash hanging out. Then our prices keep increasing, yet they're telling me I'm in a contract. So I requested a copy of the contract over 3 weeks ago. NOTHING. The agent hasn't even reached out. Then they brought another container, but it doesn't have a lock bar, so guess what happens... illegal dumping. They suck. I've had several other issues with this company over the last few years. They are not good, nor are they even the cheapest.
We unfortunately had to go with Republic because they toolkit on UGS ( who gave exceptional service). I can count on 1 hand how many times they actually picked up our trash when scheduled on Tuesday. Practically every week we get the delayed pickup call, this week now Friday. I call asking for credit and am rudely told credit is not available. We are on the verge of looking for another company unless Republic starts consistently picking up on time!
They don't even mention these fees... when you leave service (I moved) they quietly billed me $100 to pick up my two barrels. I was gone from my old address for 3 months before this bill showed up. This company is terrible and the only thing they are really good at is billing. Try dealing with them when they don't pick up your garbage... huh, what? Good ridance Republic. If I could give them a negative star I would without hesitation.
I canceled their services on April 24,2020. They did not remove their garbage and recycle containers until May 15,2020. For this, I was charged $119.35. Stay away from this heartless profit machine! What an awful company! If I could rate them zero stars I would.
This company is full of deceit. They miss pickup every week and lie about correcting the issue. I've called almost every week for the past six months. Customer service sounds dry and uninterested when you call. This is so unprofessional and very disgusting. I'm never recommending this company to anyone.
COVID-19 strikes and no one can think straight. I do business with companies that bill me once a month. When the shutdown happened they reached to inquire about services continuing. This was a common sense thoughtful customer friendly thing to do. Not REPUBLIC, they didn't remove one scrap of trash from my bin but continued to bill me. They are rude and obnoxious to their customers.
3 year contract terms are ridiculous and then they jack up the rates right before you auto renew for 3 years so they screw you for 3 years. Don't sign a contract with this terrible company. Go to coyote sanitation much better customer service
I live in another hemisphere but my card was charged for service I didn't know of by this scam company. Luckily, I never turned on online shopping option so my money is still intact. I don't know how you get my card number but go to hell!
The driver drove over my mom's meter box to deliver a dumpster next door and broke all the water pipes. The City came and fixed their side, while they were doing that the supervisor from Republic decided they would fix all of the damage, they of course will not work on the customers side of the meter. So, since it was still leaking the City turned the supply off and left. There was no note left, there was no attempt at all to contact my 80 yr old mother who is hospitalized, and no attempt to follow up and make sure the repairs were made. It took two days and multiple calls to figure out all that happened.
Republic has taken responsibility finally. Here is their solution. I pay 550$ to get it fixed and if they decide that the charges are not to unacceptable they will pay me back in a week or two.

Never answers phone. Waited over 30 minutes. This is not my first rodeo with them not answering. They want you to work with them online but then their program doesn't work they don't give you a whole lot of choices and options I do not recommend them.
Beware when you see their trucks. One of them tried to intimidate be and squeeze me off the road and then acted like he was going to rear end me with the 60,000# truck. At the last minute he turned off and I was unable to follow it. I've called several time to report it it it has fallen on deaf ears.
We have paid for trash and recycling and over the past 4 months we've not had any pick ups preformed more than we have. 6 weeks now of our recycling building up. We have the City sending us letters. All they ever say is sorry they are short drivers and trucks. We tried to be understanding as that can happen from time to time but not for four months. We call and they say it'll be picked up tomorrow or today or in 48hours but no one comes. So it sits on the curb making us look tacky to the rest of the neighborhood who gets picked up weekly. We are finally switching but may have 2 months worth of stuff by the time that happens. Worst company ever.

Missing pickups since I start with them. Every week is a different excuse. And they still charging you as regular pickup schedule. And always is a voice mail, never I can get hold with someone over phone.
I have had 3 different garbage collection services the last one not of my choosing because Republic Services bought the last good company that I was using and it turned into a nightmare. Republic calls me every single week at 7 am then at 8 am then 8:30, then 8:50, then 9:00 am then 9:10 am again to tell me they will not pick up trash until the next day. They are the worst company ever! Do not use them you will be sorry if you do.
A dumpster was placed on my property without my permission. It has torn up my grass, caused my tree limbs to break (when serviced), amoung other property damages. I have been calling for over a month asking for the dumpster to be removed and it has yet to be done. My local Republic Services does not answer phones or return my calls including the supervisor. I have called the main numbers and each time they tell me it will be moved. It has yet to be moved off of my property. As damage to my property continues to happen. If unresolved soon I will have no choice, but to sue the company for failure to remove the dumpster and place it on the correct address of their client, the damages to my property and my attorney fees. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of action taken to correct this problem and that this dumpster has been dropped off, continually serviced, and left to remain and cause damage to my property.
Three weeks ago i paid my service up. Its been 3 weeks since they have picked their cans up. This company is a Joke! I do not suggest anyone use them when there's so many other options out there. We will be using someone else. Horrible customer service, lied to me and said on numerous occasions they would pick the trash up. I hope the BBB shuts them down. So if you like to have garbage piling up and horrible customer service republic is the company for you!
If I could give a negative STAR rating I would. Not only did they always miss pickups. After I signed on with them our entire neighborhood received a letter that they will not be servicing the neighborhood. That was back on the first week of April. We are now in July and I have yet to receive a refund for the money I paid for for April May and June. I've called twice once a month to try to get my refund. I'm still waiting. I've tried to go into the office but because of covid they do not allow people into their office. Stay away stay far away from this company They are criminals.

I have had problems with Republic in the past and I still do today! My trash has been on the curb since Mon. It is now Wed night and I really do not see them coming on Thurs. I realize the snow "was" a factor. If I could get to work today, there is NO reason they could not pick up the trash! The bill for this residence will reflect a no pickup when it is paid! Unaceptable! We are looking into switching to another company as these people are NOT reliable!
DO NOT USE! This company is the definition of corporate greed! Profits are their only agenda. Customer service is two words in the dictionary that do not apply to the Corporate Values of this company.
It would be nice if all the review sites could offer a half or zero star rating.
I had republic waste services for many years, but come to find out today we are paying double compared to our neighbors. Today I called to cancel the service and they are charging 30 dollars/ can for can removal after the service is canceled. For home service, please call around and talk to your neighbors before signing up with republic service. My first clue should have been that everyone else in the neighborhood has a black container with a red lid, except us.
I got covid and was deathly ill. I didn't know they kicked out my automatic payment. They took my can. I called immediately and paid 300 for them to bring it back. They said 5 days which would be Tuesday! It didn't come I called and they informed that the rescheduled without calling me to Friday, my trash day. So now I have to wait another week due to them being jerks! I'm getting a refund and going else where! Horrible company with horrible people!
I looked at the app for holiday schedule for Christmas, and it said my pickup was a day later than normal. Put the trash out that day and it was never picked up. Checked the app and it showed my pickup date as the normal day. I thought I was going crazy, then when New Years came, it said a day late again, but I put the trash out anyway. They picked it up on the normal date and when I checked the app it now says my normal day. This is bull. If they are going to change it willy nilly the least they could do would be to send out an email or SMS alert. I will say that they miss my recycle pickup quite regularly as well. They are LITERALLY a trash company.
I pay my bill by the year. In 2014-2016 the cost was around $300 per year. In 2017 to 2020 it went up to about $425 per year. Received my bill this year and it's $647.00! Immediately called a competitor that my neighbors have been using - the cost is $328 per year. Signed up with them and called Republic to cancel service - this was at the end of May. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and then an automated response said "press 1 to receive a call back by the end of the day". I pressed 1 and confirmed by phone number but did not receive a call back. Just received another bill from them - this time charging me for an additional $35. Called them immediately (20 minutes ago), and again waited on hold for 15 minutes and the automated response picked up. I would definitely NEVER recommend this company to anyone. The costs are outlandish and the customer service is horrible.
