THEY ARE THE WORST!
July 28, 2023

Almost EVERY WEEK we have to call and ask them to pick up our trash. It has been at the road since TUESDAY, and pick up is supposed to be on Wednesday. Well it is now FRIDAY EVENING AND STILL NO TRASH PICK UP.
ALMOST EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.

The worst
June 24, 2021

Never again, we rented a dumpster from them with 9 days and a set price. The dumpster came late in the day, so we were not able to take advantage of loading it that day. However they do count the day of delivery as a day.
I called and it was to be picked up on the 21st.
To our shock it was gone by 7: A. M on the 17th.
Not the 21st as they read back to me in their notes.
Then they explained that although they picked it up in error it "closes the ticket as complete"
And they can't do anything about that.
And if I wanted it sent back out it would cost the original fee in advance again.
I clarified, you picked it up in error, but if I want it back I pay in full again.
He said yes that's our policy.
I asked him if he understood the definition of extortion?
Over the next 8 days at and 90 minutes each time I spike to countless people, including " supervisors.
And every time it was oh I have escalated this you should hear back within 2 hours.
That never happened.
On the 8th day a gentleman apologized for the situation and was going to get a container back to us that day once he spoke with our local Golden office.
The next call was from Golden saying it would be several weeks before they could get one out as they were "backlogged" however we were technically in front of those current customers.
I said refund the entire amount because I will be disputing the credit card if you don't.
I also asked him if he understood the definition of extortion.
There was "backlog " if I had been willing to come up with an additional full payment.
Never again there should be negative star ratings.

4 years of service

One issue after the next. After 4 years of service, all of the sudden my garbage cans are to small for there arms of there trucks.
Boxes aren't broken down enough, and never on time.

I paid my bill and they still disrupted my garbage and they said because I didn't pay it three days before garbage day that I have to wait for all the way until next week to get my garbage picked up after they took it out of my Wells Fargo account they still didn't give me service The customer service lady was very rude and kept talking over me and kept repeating three days three days three days acting all crazy look you guys work for me you're providing me with a service.

Horrible

4 months and still no satisfaction for getting credit for 2 cancelled checks for payments and I still get phone calls and bills for non payment and my can was taken away.

BEWARE: This company bought out a small mom and pop in our little town and we were grandfathered in at our current rate for our small business. Two years later we speak with the driver about them relocating the containers with out our direction and he asks why we have two dumpsters for refuse when we barely have them full. I pointed out one was recycling. So for two years our recycling was being dumped as trash. The customer service rep I spoke with sent us a quote for 4 times the amount we had been paying so we called around and found a better deal. After we signed a new contract with the local company Republic came back with a better deal. It was too little too late. Now they are charging us $260 to pick up the dumpsters plus another month of service due to them dragging their feet in returning our calls. The charge for pick up was never told to us nor was it every in writing. The new company only charged $110 for delivery of the new dumpsters. Republic doesn't really have customer service locally here it seems and the local phone number (so they look local) just accesses the call center that is not empowered to help anyone.

They don't care about their customers. They only care about your money. Don't dare have a bag sticking out of your dumpster. They'll charge you out the a$$ for it.

My fiancé and I moved here when ever I was about six months pregnant and we heard about Republic services and thought maybe we would give them a try. Since September almost every single week they are delaying our trash. Now, it's May and they've delayed my trash five days my trash was overfilled, and the crows got into it and spread all of my trash into the yard. There's also cockroaches inside my trash from sitting outside for so long. We are very clean people and we like to be as organized and on time as possible so for my trash to be spread all over my yard and to be overfilled because the trash company hasn't come as very embarrassing. Not only that, when I asked what was going on, they said that nobody wanted to work, which is hard I'm sure but for my trash to be delayed 5 DAYS+ is ridiculous. I asked them to do a courtesy pick up because I didn't want my trash to be all over the place and I still haven't came and picked it up. This is probably the worst trash company I've ever experienced.

You should check him out he is on meth everyday he hides pee do he can pass a drug test and he hides the stuff in his sock in boot. Do what you want with this just trying to let you know!

One a person should not be required to switch from residential trash/refuse services to commercial in order to get a 2 yard dumpster instead of 2 regular 95 gallon trash/refuse containers. Then there wouldn't be half a month of some confusion on their end of canceling the residential services & delivery said dumpster. Oh wait they did remove my regular trash/refuse containers for a fee. Failed to deliver the dumpster. On top of the fact whatever issue on your end was not corrected in an acceptable, professional, timely manner, resulting in my Landlord getting irritated at the trash having no refuse container to go into. I will not be paying a refuse container delivery fee with this other company as well as their monthly rate is almost half of the price you all are wanting me to pay, for services I no longer care to receive from a company who needs to provide better customer service as well as better rates instead of raising refuse/waste fees when services where not provided on more frequent days than normal due to inclement weather. In all reality you owe all of your current customers refunds as well as better discounted rates. Oh wait maybe get some new staff that actually are professional know their jobs, how to do it, in a timely manner. I for one will not pay another dime on half rate services that have 100% lost my respect. I have a job, life, & other things to do instead of further waste my time on a company who is obviously disorganized & needs an overhaul. Reorganize, fire, hire new better staff, restructer to better serve your customers. Etc etc etc

Disappointment
April 30, 2021

Republic publicly acts as if they care about recycling but in reality has soo many rules that its impossible to satisfy them. This appears to give them excuse to make these claims without even picking the recycle up or their customers just opting out because its impossible to meet all their recycle demands. These guys pick up at my work & my residence. At my work we just stopped putting everything except cardboard in because 1st the guy came up & wanted to complain about what was in the recycle at 4am while I was waiting outside and 2nd they came to my work in the day & started snooping around the back of the building & I happened to see them at which time they said that we were leaving unrinsed items in the bin. At my residence you cannot even read the requirements on the bin because they are printed into the plastic bin, same color & so small. They appear to have just stopped picking up our recycling all together here because its been about a month now & no one has seem them & the bins are still full. In my opinion from my experience they should stop pretending to be green unless they intend on making that an actual priority.

I used them for about 3 years but I had to stop. The price more than doubled during this time.
I called to cancel and they said that they would drop the price by half for a year if I stayed. I agreed. That change was not reflected on the account online. I called again and they told me to give it a couple of days. It did not change. Called again, and you know where this is going, same thing again. The third time that I called they said now that I had to pay that large amount and they were going to give me a credit! It's obvious that it is a lie and of course I was not going to give me a penny more. I asked them to cancel and first they said that the first two weeks of the following month were still included and then changed their mind and said they were not included. When I asked them to clarify they said that I was not understanding. The woman even shooshed me! I have worked in customer service for a long time and I know what a headache it can be, so I always try to be really nice. If you choose this company, you will have a hard time remaining nice to this them, and be prepared to pay about a lot more in each bill. They are very rude and just keep insisting that you are the one who doesn't understand and will say that they did not contradict themselves. Awful company!

I scheduled a bulk trash pickup with Republic Services to be picked up 6/22 and paid $120 for the service. Two days went by and the trash was not picked up. I called 6/24 to ask for my money back and to cancel the service and I got the $120 refunded. On 8/4, there was a pending amount of $120 to be debited by Republic from our checking account. I was informed they incorrectly billed me but I asked to cancel my contract with them. I was informed there would be a removal fee for the 2 containers and was prepared to pay that amount. On 11/22, I received a voicemail from Republic saying that if I did not pay the $195 charge on my account, I would be sent to collections. This amount included a bulk pickup that was not scheduled and the removal fees for the containers. I called and spoke to a supervisor who removed the erroneous charges and informed me that all I needed to pay for the container removal was $34.96, which I paid that day. Today, 12/17, I received a bill from Republic Services for $30.00 for container removal that occurred on 11/3 (the containers were removed on 10/15 and I was told this was paid for on 11/23). I get on the phone with a supervisor who informs me my account balance is $0 but the "system generated invoice" is trying to catch up with itself. I requested written communication showing that my account balance is $0 and my account is closed so that they will not try to send me to collections again. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will be pursuing legal action if I receive another erroneous bill from this company.

Horrible service
June 29, 2021

I've been with this service 4 year's and all they do is lie they have lazy drivers that can lie and tell dispatch anything for them not to do there job I been holding on to trash over a week they canceled two reschedule pickup do to a miss pick and they never came do to the driver saying my street was block off by city which was last week on a Tuesday and when I ask to speak to a supervisor I was denied so with that being said I just ended this horrible journey this morning I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone I would rather deal with the city of grand rapids and they always on time and never misses a pickup

Terrible company
August 26, 2020

Price for service kept going up. Nearly 300.00 every 3 months. Went with different company and now only pay 22.00 per month. Republic told me it would be 30.00 to pick up THIER containers. Then I received a bill for 83.75. I called their customer service they said that they would have someone contact me about it. NO CALL back. So I called again a few weeks later. Customer service rep. Said she did not know why I was charged and said my bill should be zero and to disregard it. So I did. I got an email yesterday that was a letter of demand and if I did not pay the 83.75 that they were going to take me to collections. I called again today and talked with another rep. She stated that I'm the notes that was sent HIGHER up denied the request and that I owed for the removal of the containers, tax and fees.
I asked to speak with someone higher up. Spoke with the supervisor he said that I owed the amount and I explained that I was only told that I was only told of the charge of the charge of 30.00 not anything of fees and tax was said and I also stated to him that is was not said to me that it was PER container.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE VERY DECEPTIVE!

What is there to say, aside from horrible, HORRIBLE service. Lucky if the freaking driver shows up on the scheduled day. We've been promised a lock for our locking dumpster for nearly 9 months with no end in sight. Trying to call them is not that bad, but getting a call-back or any kind of forward momentum in resolving issues is basically hoping for a miracle.

I am shocked they got the bid for our city, which I guess is also on the city for taking low bids and not researching this grubby company previously, but sadly like my internet provider, I do not get to choose but god I would be better served to take it to the dump myself because these morons at this company should be ashamed to call what they do "work" because as a customer, it hardly seems like anyone there actually works.

Wish I could rate 0 stars, but not like this is going to change the already dumpster fire this company basically is. Today they randomly replaced my bin (without prompting) with a dingy and dinged up old bin AND STILL NO FREAKING LOCK. What the heck...

We advised them around Sept 17th that we are cancelling their services for the next quarter starting on Oct 1st, at that time we were advised that the charge to collect the grabage and recycle bin was $7 Their bill for next quarter was due on Sept 19th. They then sent us a bill for $5 and we paid that. On Oct 20th they send us another bill for $62.67 for removing garbage and recycle bins. It's ridiculous! Wen my husband called them they are saying something else now. ONE CHEATING ORGANIZATION! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
