I hesitated to purchase from here due to the many bad reviews, but I didn't need anything significant, so I pulled the trigger. The prices were too good to pass on. Glad to report I got exactly what I ordered and promptly. I placed my order Monday morning, and the site said it would be here Wednesday (two days later), which worked for me as I was out of town. To my surprise, it was delivered the very next morning. I just got home, and everything ordered was well packaged and correct. I just put the parts in my car, and everything fits as described. My first Rock Auto purchase was a success, so I will be getting my parts from here in the foreseeable future. If you're considering RA but are thrown off by the bad reviews, I suggest experiencing it yourself and forming your own opinion. I did, and I'm glad I did. I no longer have to overpay for car parts.
Imagine waiting 2 weeks for your part to arrive just for it to start leaking and leaving you stranded on the highway with $400 worth of tow fees to get back to the shop to replace the part you just replaced. So 3 weeks and $1100 later for something that should have been done in a day, and for $300. Thanks RockAuto! Terrible Chinese Products. Avoid as all costs and buy OEM. RockAuto products have ZERO quality control and will ship you broken parts.
Be careful. Website is not specific and no phone number for help. Ordered a part for my truck. Received it ok and part was sealed in brown paper, glued and sealed. Factory part. Of coarse you have to open it to check the part. Paper tore because it was glued. Of it did not fit my truck. Wrapped up in same paper package and returned for a refund. They said it was damaged and installed. It NEVER left my living room. They said no refund. Never purchase here again.

If they send you the wrong part or it doesn't fit. You have pay out of pocket to return the items. I been shopping with rockauto for over 10 years. I'll be using Amazon for now on since they have free returns.
Shipping estimate was $50 for Friday delivery (Scheduled shop time) or $200 for UPS rapid ship. Paid the extra - Shipping estimates now show Friday. Looks like a call to the attorney general for fraudulent marketing and business practices is warranted (Glad I keep screen shots for my own tracking purposes.), and time to put my corporate benefit of free lawyer to use as well! Oh, yes, I did try to find out how to contact them so we could discuss this and see if we can get it resolved - but when you call, even their phone number states they don't have customer service, just check the facts on the website.

Beware, items that are normally installed in pairs may be sold individually. Purchased sway bar links, Only a single link was sent - seriously. I've had great luck with quality, largely as they are only 3rd party distributor and their prices can't be beat - just don't be in a hurry, don't plan on their shipping dates, and don't buy express shipping, and don't plan on ever having to talk to anyone if something is an issue as there is no concern for the customer, only the sale and upcharge.

I ordered a part for my wife's Prius, it was shipped to our old address it was returned. They refunding my money a whole $1.69. I'm still paying for the part and I'm still paying for shipping. Now don't get me wrong I reordered the part and made sure address was right. So much for there return policy your still paying for the part and the shipping, will be last time I use them
Bought a ton of parts off these dummies till they got me for $3400 dollars worth of parts the engine tech lifters were horribly machined and cause damage wrecking the block and beaeings. So i tried dealing online and nothing after about 20 emails i said $#*! u rock auto and called my credit card company and opened a fraud case had my money back in 2 hours. I received a part for a different year of the same vehicle. Following the return process (which states if it is their fault they will cover all costs of the return) when I got to the end of the return process it gave me no other option but to pay for the shipping. (Which was 3/4 of the cost I paid for the part originally) so I contacted customer service and there answer was it was not their fault because i ordered the part I received. Seems odd that I would order a part for a vehicle 28 years older than the vehicle I have….
So now I'm stuck with a radiator for the wrong vehicle. I will not be purchasing anything from them again because they obviously do not stand behind their own return policies.

I was in need of a part last week so I looked at rockauto and ordered it, paying $35 extra for next day delivery. I finally received it 4 days later. I tried to cancel the order before it shipped late Friday afternoon but rockauto would not let me saying that it had already shipped. When I complained to rockauto they told me this "We're sorry, but we can not cancel and order once it has been shipped.
We apologize for any confusion with your order. According to the carrier's tracking, your shipment is on time. You may have misunderstood the shipping time to include weekend days. Weekends and holidays are not included in the shipping count (since they are not business days).
In the future, please make sure the expected delivery date on the Check Out page matches your expectations of when you'd like to receive your order. For further information, please see:... " I will never ever order a part from them again.
You pay extra to have it delivered so you can fix your vehicle. They do not deliver and their out is the word "estimated". That means that after they take you money, in my case it was an extra $16. And my car is on jack stands waiting the weekend as DHL does NOT deliver on Saturdays. So right now I have 3 more days... maybe before I get my part.
Never, never, never pay extra for a faster delivery. And if you look for anything that could be customer service... there is none.

Ok, the negative reviews got to be by either auto parts stores or people buying the least $ parts. I've only had one return I ordered more than i needed, and the credit to my account, "my choice" was no issue 6 months later when I ordered again. I have never bought the least $ parts. When I find what I want i look it up at local parts stores, and ALWAYS have bought at rockauto. Example, this week i bought 6 iridium NGK 6441 they were $6.00 each at rock auto $12.00 each at Autozone, O'reilly, and advance auto parts. I bought 6 NGK coils at $19.00 each, they cost $49.00 EACH at the parts stores. I have ordered for about 15 years, I have recommended to the construction crews I work with, and no one has EVER said anything bad.

The rear upper control arm visually looks the same. But the holes are misaligned and cannot be altered. I had to wait over a month for the mechanic, and now they won't give me a refund. I'm stuck with two expensive pieces of junk. The return shipping is almost as much a the part. I've spent a lot of money there. I won't use them again. Buy local.

I ordered a st of control arms w ball joint and a bearing, it never arrived. Filed a claim and they say it was delivered. Yet if you look at picture. It's clearly not my home. Ripped me off. I don't recommend them for nothing. Customer service is also a joke. DPollard
Order never arrived stating address format not correct, it was. Offered no refund and treated rudely by so called customer service advisers, not my fault but now my problem. Tried emailing them and they blocked my emails! The worst place I've ever had the misfortune to deal with, they just do not care!

Using the RockAuto online catalogue, I ordered wiper blades for my 06 Toyota Avalon. The total cost was $29.86 for the two blades. Neither one fit. When I returned them, RockAuto only gave me credit for $11.79. No credit for shipping to me and deduction for the return shipping. So I got back only 39% of what I spent and the problem was all theirs! Note that they will not allow phone calls to customer service; you must communicate via email. And when I complained, they said it was all explained in their online warranty description.

Bought parts for my truck, I recieved the wrong parts. I returned them quickly. I was then notified that they recieved the package but it was empty. They even sent pictures, of the box, there was another box inside (manufacturers box) which is the original package for the parts, you can clearly see the shadow. I have been trying for months to receive a refund. They absolutely refuse to do so. I am disputing the charges.

I ordered a box of parts from Rockauto and when I received it there were wrong parts and missing parts. It was like they had a blind guy walk down the Isles putting random stuff in there. Whoever printed out the order form put in incorrect part numbers that did not match my original order.
I've emailed but have had no replies. I can't ship them back because I live in New Zealand so will cost more than the parts are worth.
You'd think they'd have half a clue and double check the order before sending it half way around the planet. Never again.
Everything I buy from them has a manufacturer defect. There's a reason the parts are so cheap. I just bought the most expensive timing chains they sell and I got boxes that were made in 1960 with seized rusted chains inside. Just go to autozone.

HUGE selection especially if you are into older vehicles, great prices (some things are literally half the price of their competitors). Pain free shipping but it can be expensive. Great about fixing any mistakes they make so long as they hear about it in a timely manner. Helpful customer service, easy to navigate website. Even though it's an American company, their website has an option to display prices in different currencies and it gives a shipping estimate that includes duties, taxes which hasn't been wrong for me yet (about 20-25 orders) I will only buy car parts from them.

. Cheap poor quality Chinese made parts. They get you by till you can do better. Then placed a couple hundred dollar order I soon discovered they charged me for multiple times and ripped me off making it right. We paid extra for an expedited shipment but DHL claims RockAuto did not fill out delivery papers correctly. So package got returned to station. Information on order confirmation was correct. After asking them to return the express shipping costs, their support closed ticket and stopped responding.
First off, they ship to Guam where many other online retailers don't. Their prices are also very good. I have ordered dozens of times from them and had received the wrong parts twice. Their return process does though. The site navigation is super easy but sometimes it helps to know the actual part number.

Paid for express shipping but did not receive item until three days later. Have requested refund just for the difference between standard and express shipping - around $8.00. This company can only be communicated with through a service email account. There is no opportunity to speak with a human being as my requests for return phone calls are ignored. This might seem like a minor amount to some, but it is poor business and just think about the impact to their bottom line if they scam $8.00 from every transaction. Additionally, if they will cheat you out of $8.00, they will cheat you out of hundreds of dollars just as quickly. Your money is better spent with an online retailer with actual contact options with human beings or with tradition brick and mortar retailers.

Better off to select another online retailer with proven customer service with the ability to communicate with a human being. Better yet, deal with an established brick and mortar retailer.

I recently ordered two cans specialty fluid for my trucks package was soaked when it was left on my driveway so I knew at least one can it opened I just now looked since he refused to pick it up try to put the other kin in I'm a cat fell off what a piece of crap so a large-bore can just dumped out on top of my gas cap and of course that didn't work well got 3/4 but when it's the yard. They refuse to answer their 1-800 number they should be shut down. And my view if you won't answer your phone you're criminals

Ordered the front left window regular (Driver's Side) for 1 2013 Ford Escape & received the wrong part. No chance of returning it & no phone number to call. What kind of business is allowed to operate like this? Order # *******. It's now saying since it's past 30 days, nothing can be done. I guess I'll just throw away this new Window Regulator & lose the $85.00. :(

I've made lots of purchases from rockauto for multiple vehicles for at least 10 years. (5 boys, old cars) I've most always had good results and the parts are as described. Only one time did I receive a defective distributor cap (internal short) that cause me some headaches but out of dozens of purchases that is the only one. I received a refund for the defective part but I had to pay a mechanic to figure out what was wrong because I didn't expect a new cap to be bad. Prices are usually better than local auto parts stores even taking into account shipping cost and they have saved me a lot of money. Make sure to use 5% discount code they email you or search for it on the web.
