If you prefer story-driven roleplays over smut then it might not be the best place. On top of that, the 'perks' (certain functions and decorative things for profiles) are pretty expensive. It wouldn't be much of a problem if people didn't get ignored for not having fancy profiles.
If you can afford it and don't mind roleplays that are heavily sexual then it'll be a cool site for you.

I've toured a number of roleplay websites, ranging from forums to chat sites, to even discord servers. Roleplay Chat is hands down the best medium for roleplay. It gives you a layer of anonymity with ease of creating multiple profiles for various characters so if you want to strictly write, it's perfect for the cause.

Some other people may complain about Out of Character interactions and drama, but that is not reflected on the website but rather people themselves. There's drama everywhere, that isn't a recent discovery that solely exists on RPC.

Just like joining any new community, there are some adjustments you need to make to fit in but you're always capable of finding new and interesting people to interact with if you look!

Regarding roleplay websites, it has a live chat, a robust room system, and a global out-of-character chat to allow you to talk about pop culture, games, or other interests with site goers. I've never had any issues and can't go to other any other places without inevitably returning to RPC as my premier RP website.

The site claims that there are hundreds of thousands of active members, and yet I only ever see the same small group of people roleplaying, and they all seem to be in small cliques. If you're wanting to join a new site, and be welcomed into scenes shortly after arriving then you best have a female character and immediately do two things: Change your color from the default blue and make a well put together HTML/CSS/Javascript profile. Don't know how to code? No worries, there's a built-in profile maker that no one interacts with the people that use it. If that doesn't suit your fancy you can send 20 dollars to one of the people for them to make a profile for you and people compliment the profile but still don't interact with you. Essentially, this site is very much not newcomer friendly and is just as much a breeding grounds for cliques. There is so much Out of Character drama on this site that people have literally ended up in mental wards due to self harm and depression over it. Once you get past people hating you for no reason, all the cliques, the lack of people actually using the site, the lack of interaction unless you're well known, and the fact that everyone claims to want story, but it always devolves into sexual RP within a few messages then it's a really fun site to be a pre-established member of.
