Ruelala was one of the first flash sale sites that I ordered from on a regular basis (Gilt was my first). I remember being sent one of their VIP cards with my "own" personal concierge. I used to order a from them like crazy, but then started to notice that their great pricing was no longer that great. Then I noticed that some of their offerings under 'pre-owned' like Vintage Gucci and Hermes were actually knockoffs that I was very familiar with from Chinatown here in NYC. I did contact them when they offered a VERY fake Hermes silver plated cigarette holder/case with a lighter built in. How do I know it was fake? I used to see them all over Chinatown with every designer name etched in... just pick the name you wanted to carry. When I informed them that it was a fake they refused to acknowledge. I was letting them know as a good shopping samaritan, but I guess the profits won out because Linda's Closet still provides most their handbags and accessories for their 'vintage' sales.
I do ove them for finding those things that would be a pain finding elsewhere such as home goods. While I love going to the actual Home Goods (owned by Marshall's) for a great houseware bargain, RueLaLa is a great alternative for me when I want to pick out gifts, cookware, knick knacks, etc that don't need to be authenticated.
Careful with what you order, I was not allowed to return my shoes that didn't fit, not even for exchange or store credit. Worst customer service.
I ordered several jewelry. Pearl with bow earrings and Pandora pieces. All are authentic! Great deal! I just wish shipping is faster.
I've found some great deals at RueLaLa. I've gotten a few things I was unhappy with, but returns were fairly painless.
Ordered a ring and it arrived 20 days later after several requests, and I can only enjoy free shipping within 30 days? Trash website go to hell
Hello!
I'd like to write regarding an issue I experience today. Initially, I did call regarding my expired credits $170 which I had no idea about having. Today, I wanted to place an order and use some of the credits but they were not available. I did call customer service to ask if they are able to reinstate some of the credits.
I explained that I had no idea about these credits and feel bad to loose them. The nice gentleman told me he can give $50 as a credit and I asked if he could do more as I had more credits. I said it is holiday season, cyber week and I asked if supervisor could help and reinstate more credits. I was connected to Jocklyn B., she told me that she is supervisor and she would not reinstate any more credits and instead of giving me $50 credit as initially was given to me, she did lower the amount to only $25. How great was that?!
I told her it's outrageous to do that as I was initially given the $50 credit. She said thats all she can do. So, instead of helping and doing one time curtesy to reinstate more credits, she did lower the amount.
It is absolutely not the way to appreciate the rualala customers!
Nothing arrives as it appears on the site. Everything comes in different colors, different sizes. They are a scam.
Received expensive boots in the wrong size. $10 credit, "free" label I have to find a printer to return.
I purchased an Ebel watch from RueLaLa for $1099. 00. They advertised the watch as being backed by the manufacturer's warranty. The watch came with a warranty card from Ebel. The watch stopped working after 3 weeks, and I took it to an Ebel dealer who sent it to Ebel to be repaired along with my receipt and the warranty card. Ebel would not service the watch because they said that RueLaLa and the company that provided the watch to them (Alliance Time) was not authorized to sell the watch. I spoke with numerous supervisors (Kyle, Jane, and Brittany) who assured me that they were authorized to sell the watch. Kyle even told me that the watch would be repaired by Ebel if I sent it back to RueLaLa for service. I mailed it in, and it was repaired by a third party service center in NYC... NOT Ebel. I requested that RueLaLa either work it out to have the watch serviced by Ebel or let me return it since the product was NOT as advertised. Bottom line after 7 weeks of phone tag. Ebel won't service the watch and RueLaLa won't return it. I have closed my account with RueLaLa which I have used regularly over the past 2 years. I do not wish to do business with them as I believe that they falsely advertise merchandise that they are not auhtorized to sell. I would not be upset if I had knowingly purchased something without a warranty, but when you buy something with a "full manufacturer's warranty", it should be covered by the manufacturer.
