I have been going through this for 3 or 4 weeks now. My phone has no data connection. They make you call in, they make you verify and go through a tech person that goes through the same steps over and over. Then they claim they'll transfer you to the next level. I tell them that if you transfer me to the next level it's going to disconnect. They claim it won't. They transfer me to the next level and disconnects. I've talked to 18 different tech operators at their company. I'm going round and round in circles. I have no data connection. I paid for this phone. They made us all pay for phones claiming they were doing a network upgrade. The phone doesn't work. Why do I have to keep a product that I paid for that doesn't work? Where am I to go from here; what do I do to get my phone to work that I paid for from them?
On 8/5/2024, I started working with them to get my sim card inserted and the phone activated. The sim card worked and the phone had the 4G and bars. For the next 3 days, they went over and over again with the same process even though it didn't work for the previous representative. I told them that and they started to get hostile with me. Melissa called me stupid, I said enough and finally contacted them back to cancel my application. I've never been called stupid before, and I didn't understand not allowing me to speak with technical support. The biggest frustration was not being understood. I ask a question, they would respond with something that made no sense to me. I would say that is not what I was asking you. I have such a headache now that I couldn't get phone service from them activated. When I called to cancel, I said you aren't going to ask me why I'm canceling a service that was never activated, never started? The representative let me know she didn't care at all. I have a phone number everyone and never got to use it. Really, if you want a headache and super frustration, contact SafeLink, I feel sorry for anyone and I mean anyone and everyone that has to deal with them. The Supervisor didn't care at all to try and help when I ask for help with them. I got some of the same treatment from Assurance Wireless when I reached out to them to have Benefit transferred. They hung up in my face and didn't understand me at all.
I joined safelink for the 2nd time. First time was 2013... second time was 2019.
2019 my data would not work, then my data stop showing up each month. I went 7 months without data, then data was given to me. Then data would stop. Then out of nowhere my stops working.
I had to reapply for lifeline.
I wait a month 18 business days. Still no cellphone service. I had to call 3 times 6 transfers and a specialist to activate lifeline 450 minutes 4.5 gb. That was 7-7-21.7-14-21 data stops works(only 1 week later). I call 611 to find out I supposedly used all my data... my cellphone keeps track. I used 86mb... nowhere near 4.5gb...
Safelink is a scam... the Mexican owner makes soooo much money, that 6 million dollar fines are nothing to him.

They didn't help at all switched my application when I applied for phone they told me to use my own when I dont have one next time told me I didn't qualify through national verifier and I called them and I am. Told me they couldn't look up my enrollment ID when I was on my application
EVERYTHING last day of the month my phone quits and takes a week sometime to get it working again,been almost a year with safelink you have to call every month it get old after awhile.where i live you gave to drive a few miles to get service phone is no good if you can't make a call or text
I could write a review but I will be saying exactly the same thing as everyone else. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Save your sanity & liver cuz dealing with these incompetent non-English speaking robots will surely drive you to drink... NO STARS GIVEN... IN FACT I WISH I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE STAR RATING! On second thought NOT EVEN WORTH THAT... RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
I'm 68 years old, and when I spoke to customer service, I could not understand the fast talking employee with the Indian accent. I was also discontinued 3 times.
The customer service is just awful with out any warning they shut off my data and ive called over 10 times they all say the same thing and then just i get disconnected.
Have called consistently for months, sometimes several days in a row, to get their supposed advertised 25GB/month high speed data free plan with the Lifeline/ACP program. Just to get that department is difficult (first responders try to block connection) but then no matter how many hours we spend on the phone with them they keep assuring us that it will be done "within 24-72 hours" (system glitch lasting months and never fixed). They keep saying our registration number has not been "attached" but then never is and we call back over and over -- rinse and repeat. Still trying since late August (now early February)!
They advertise the most attractive Lifeline/ACP plan (formerly thru sister company StraightTalk) but then don't deliver. We are trying to get back $100 we should not have had to pay to receive data due to their failure to activate plan as promised! Will try to pursue and file complaint with Federal government Lifeline/ACP program. If they cannot deliver they should NOT advertise, as that is fraud -- maybe even intentional "bait & switch".

They fraudulently advertise a free 25GB high-speed data plan online but never apply it to any accounts. Just tell you it will take 1-3 days but then never happens. Been calling for months as a current Tracfone customer.

Canceled my acp application without telling me, gave me a MINUTE plan w/out telling me. Now I have no minutes.I have NO PHONE. Customer service tells me to re-apply for the acp plan again. I just hung up the dam phone. I couldnt deal with it.

I've been on the phone every day this week for a total of 22 1/2 hrs and STILL never got anywhere. I Keep getting the run-around as to why I have not been approved yet, some say they cant find my app, some say i have to call the national verifier AGAIN, even though I gave them my ID number from National Verifier, some say your phone is on its way, some say there is no phone, and these were all from SUPERVISORS! WOW! Every person they transfer you to, you have to start all over again and you never get any answers or they feed you a bunch of BS. They don't have a clue as to what they are doing and are so rude and you can barely understand them. TRAIN THESE PEOPLE! OVER 22 HRS IS PATHETIC AND I HAVE TO CALL AGAIN TOMORROW BECAUSE I GOT NOWHERE AND IM TIRED. WOW!
Never got my phone and the shipping carrier and tracking information was incorrect and none of the supervisors or call reps had any idea of what to do or how to handle it

SafeLink and Especially Qlink wireless are both scam companies that has leased T-Mobiles cellular towers and created sim cards to send people, customer service does not exist, the people that eventually answer the phone after an hour or so once all the overseas transferring is complete, they don't have a clue what their doing and you can barely understand them because they can't speak ENGLISH It's just another company created by a foreign scammer in a one room office to literally screw our government out of millions of dollars in funds set aside for the EBB and ACP benefits, that he charges the US government about 150$ per person each month billed to the US government for the free cell service we have been provided,, and we're all getting $#*!ed! While some Al-Qaeda is getting rich from our dumb $#*! government

The worst service ever! At present the call center is located in the Philippines.If you call for any reason they will wipe your minutes, your unlimited texts and your date. Takes so many called to them and every agent tells you something different. I think they enjoy doing everything they can to make it impossible for you to receive your service. When I first started out with them their call center was in Mexico and at least I got my benefits on the 1st of the month like clockwork but, now they say it takes up to five days. The phones are the cheapest and they don't work well at all. Having to stand outside to catch a signal is terrible. If it's raining forget about using the phone. I find it sad that the present call center and the people who work there don't realize that if not for us they would have no job. If SafeLink is an American owned company I just want to say shame on you for using foreign countries as call centers because, you can get away with paying them little money and also take jobs away from Americans. At present I have no way to contact anyone and we are in a Pandamic. I will be looking into getting service from another provider that I will have to pay for even though I am disabled and really can't afford it but, at my age I need a phone as we all do. How I miss the good old days when we had land lines and not all this cell phone crap. SafeLink your terrible and unethical.
You are suppose to get 10gb of data I only used 4.98gb of the hotspot. I was told there's nothing they can do and I'm welcomed to buy hotspot. THE ACP PROGRAM IS (FREE) SHOULDNT PAY FOR ANYTHING. TOTAL RIP OFF IM SWITCHING SERVERS AND IM MAKING SURE EVERYBODY I KNOW THAT HAS THEM SWITCH AS WELL!
I was waiting in line for food stamps during Covid. People were all being greeted by SafeLink people giving away free phones and service. Sounded great. Luckily I did not give up my old phone & service which was all far superior to theirs. However I kept the phone and used it barely, just to ring my good phone when I misplaced it. However four months later I find they disconnected my service. I had no luck getting a human being to help me, only hang up on me. That person said I had no account and was transferring me to "upgrade". They reeled me in for free with phone number, let me use it and get comfortable with it so they can then cut me off to force me to by a monthly service plan. What is bad is that they never contacted me to tell me I was going to be disconnected, I just was. People need to make a call, they pay! Horrible service for this and other reasons. I didn't mind it for free but would never want this phone or service because it stinks but more so because of their shady way of doing business. If they told people when signing them up it was free for four months then low cost plan options after that with notice given in advance, people would not feel so scammed. Luckily, I have my old phone and service still. Do not recommend unless you are that broke but I think you can get same or better deals elsewhere.

I have been dealing with this company since the beginning of the year I have qualified for their free phone program at the time I was filling the application I even wrote on the application that I needed a Verizon phone to be compatible with my TDS modem or else I will not be able to use the phone at my house they totally reassured me that no worries that I would be getting the phone they sent me the phone after many arguments with them that it must be a Verizon totally did not get a Verizon phone now I'm stuck with a phone that is not compatible with my modem they will not replace it even though the phone says that I can return the phone in 90 days now they're saying I cannot that it is incompatible for the return policy when it says right on the box there's a return 90 day policy do not use these people they are a bunch of rip offs so right now they're getting government tax dollars on my phone that I cannot use this is ridiculous
Don't use Safelink. I was sent a SIM card. The told I needed to go buy one. Company is a scam. Then was asked for my card number and sent to four different people. Non of which knew how to help me
I thought Safelink replaced stolen or lost phones. I could've sworn I saw that in their Terms of Service. People do actually read that, lol. Anyway, I called Technical Support and explained to whatever gender that person was, that I lost my phone. I'd hear seconds of silence, as if s/he expected me to explain anymore. So I wait for almost 3 minutes, just to be told that they don't replace lost or stolen phones, and I would have to buy one. I got pissed, and just hung up on the whatever while s/he was talking. They tried calling me back but I kept hanging up on them. What's the damn point of talking to me anymore after explaining to me that y'all want people's money? The cheapest phone they have available is $65. Are you kidding me?!? The phone I did have before I stupidly lost it was around $30. They can kiss my $#*! because they aren't getting my money. If I had money like that to spend on a phone, I would've never signed up for their service. I know what I read, and in their terms of service, it was explained that they will replaced a lost/stolen phone only once. That was my first time losing that phone, but I've learned my lesson. I hope that one day my husband and I are living financially well enough to where we don't need the government's assistance. It's a joke to me, and an embarrassment for me.
I have a Government issued phone with UNLIMITED talk, text and data even had a free Hotspot, all of the sudden out of nowhere, after months of using safelink I am out of minuets for my talk, used all my text and data? On a UNLIMITED plan? So here I am, 62 yrs old, sick, homeless and without phone service. I refuse to pay them a dime, demanded my phone to be unlocked and my number kept and switched to a $15. A month plan.

Every time waiting over 2hours.They active my servers 4days. The lifeline tell that safeline don't send complete files to lifeline. The apply dones't approve. I tell the safeline have to re-certification. But they don't resend file to lifeline and cancel my service. They tell me If I don't pay money to buy plan and don't release my number. My phone doesn't have service and can't port out to another carrier.
I called in for a request of a replacement phone due to the old phone broken, as doing so on October 12th, I have spoken to two customer agents and a manager who all stated I would be eligible to receive one within 3-5 business days, it has now been 3 weeks and with misunderstandings of the phone not being in the warehouse or the shipment date has been delayed, I am to find out later as I check in my status that the phone is not on delivery route, I spoke to warehouse manager and they said I needed to return the defective phone in order to receive the replacement which not one agent mentioned before until today for some reason, Safelink management said that UPS has picked it up just yesterday, I asked for ways to get a phone in faster and they had stated it's in UPS care, to " call them and find out, that I shouldn't worry, it should be in sooner rather than later" 5 weeks later they estimate I'll receive the phone, to be patient and they're sorry.
They send you raggedy used phones and then when you request a replacement they tell you, you aren't eligible because you haven't bought a qualifying plan. On top of all this they are extremely rude!
Tried to login to my SafeLink account... Can't! Called C.A. They said the only way they could pull up my SafeLink account was with my credit card #.next day my credit card was maxed out...my stupid fault.SCAM! BTW IF YOU SPEAK ENGLISH AS YOUR FIRST LANGUAGE YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THE CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE PEOPLE WHO ANSWER THE PHONE. JUST SPEAKING THE TRUTH!
They mail me a new phone waited 45 minutes to speak to a heartless robot from the phillipines, wanted to port in my simple mobile number she insisted I need a third phone number to do it, well there are no public phones, you need to be able to port in numbers without a third number not many people have three phones. Wouldnt transfer me, wouldnt let me speak to a supervisor. I yelled I dont want to talk to you and hung up. As if its not punishment enough to have to wait another 45 minutes to speak to a new rep, she vindictively flags the new phone I just got in the mail as stolen. Im sure she did that cuz the service just cuts out after that. And so I spent 6 hours with one inept robot demon after another, one kept me on the phone a solid 2.5 hours playing with his "tools". Save yourself the trouble! In the end I just went to the website, logged in to my service with the enrollment number and clicked the button to cancel. Boom done. You cant have my lifeline and acp benefit money. Ill go with another company or that money can just go back to the fed govt funds. Never again.
