I have been going through this for 3 or 4 weeks now. My phone has no data connection. They make you call in, they make you verify and go through a tech person that goes through the same steps over and over. Then they claim they'll transfer you to the next level. I tell them that if you transfer me to the next level it's going to disconnect. They claim it won't. They transfer me to the next level and disconnects. I've talked to 18 different tech operators at their company. I'm going round and round in circles. I have no data connection. I paid for this phone. They made us all pay for phones claiming they were doing a network upgrade. The phone doesn't work. Why do I have to keep a product that I paid for that doesn't work? Where am I to go from here; what do I do to get my phone to work that I paid for from them?
On 8/5/2024, I started working with them to get my sim card inserted and the phone activated. The sim card worked and the phone had the 4G and bars. For the next 3 days, they went over and over again with the same process even though it didn't work for the previous representative. I told them that and they started to get hostile with me. Melissa called me stupid, I said enough and finally contacted them back to cancel my application. I've never been called stupid before, and I didn't understand not allowing me to speak with technical support. The biggest frustration was not being understood. I ask a question, they would respond with something that made no sense to me. I would say that is not what I was asking you. I have such a headache now that I couldn't get phone service from them activated. When I called to cancel, I said you aren't going to ask me why I'm canceling a service that was never activated, never started? The representative let me know she didn't care at all. I have a phone number everyone and never got to use it. Really, if you want a headache and super frustration, contact SafeLink, I feel sorry for anyone and I mean anyone and everyone that has to deal with them. The Supervisor didn't care at all to try and help when I ask for help with them. I got some of the same treatment from Assurance Wireless when I reached out to them to have Benefit transferred. They hung up in my face and didn't understand me at all.
Safelink is a service for the disabled. Their customer service is deplorable. Barely speak functional English. Spent the last 2 days trying to activate a new phone for a handicapped individual, still no luck. 0 stars.
I received a phone and they could not activate it because.
Of there own fault by given them the same information I have always given then to transfer my phone number they could not identify me and refused to allow me to access my own Safelink account. This was hours where no one was willing or able to help. They kept passing me from Safelink to Tracfone or simply hanging up. So now I did not get my original phone I purchased, no refund, stuck with phone the is not phone I purchased, can't' activate my phone, and they stole my minutes.
SafeLink customer support representatives are always somebody overseas and they must get paid a percentage for not giving you what you originally paid for when you have to add service because we've been ripped off many times and now that we've been ripped off again they're trying to flag our account and tell us that we are under suspicion of trying to scam them so now they're trying to turn it back on us and we have all the bank statements and deductions and their contract and yet they're trying to continually bash us and hang up on us all the time they are the rudest and most unorganized scam carrier on the market

Your best bet is to never try and purchase an add-on plan because they're supposed to do a rollover and they never do and they never add the data when you buy it you always have to call and yell at customer support constantly because they never had it
I tried to use my Lifeline benefits with SafeLink Wireless and I regretted it. Their customer service sucks, to get your issues solved you have to call at least two times. Customer service agents are not competent and it's usually very hard to understand what they are saying because all of them are having a heavy accent.
My service was disconnected several times with no valid reason so I decided to change provider. And last drop was that I had to pay $13 to get my phone number transferred to a new provider. Which is scam because other companies do it for free.
I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND to deal with SafeLink Wireless!

My service suddenly stopped and they didn't know why nor couldn't help me. They couldn't let me keep my old number. They kept switching me to someone else many times. Everytime they connect me to someone else I got cut off. Assurance is better. They are so incompetent.

Never ever have experienced such discord. 6 phone calls in two days to address minutes and data not being added to my account... once finally my minutes were added, they took away my data, then vice versa... totally incapable of correctly adding both at once, and now they completely deleted my 2.5gb of data within 2 minutes, and tell me that I need to purchase more data... total joke... left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing... and they dont seem to have notes from the prior reps I spoke to...
I just signed up for another provider, where I dont have to no longer deal with Safelinks bs, as soon as my new sim card arrives... Thank God!
I've been trying to activate my phone for a year a f year with these ppl in Philippines & still can't get it done. I don't know what to do it's always something or hung up on how do I get the f phone activated $#*!kkkkkkk. Safelink hire ppl in America so we can get $#*! done in 10 mins shame on you for hire these ppl.
Tried to port my phone number, but can't do it with TTY and chat either doesn't exist or doesn't work. I need my old phone number for TTY, phone is pretty much useless without it. Can't even cancel because I can't understand the rep.
This phone service is a joke customer service is the worst I've ever seen ever time that transfer you to the department that suppose to help you the phone hangs up matter what you do so you have to keep calling back and the same thing keeps happening I trade 10 times in one day and the same result don't get this phone service Please if you want to keep sanity...
Signed up with them about 4 months ago. First phone broke the replaced. It with no problem. Last week got an email from TracFone telling me that my phone bill was past due. Now keep in mind I am a Lifeline customer. Tried to explain that to them and they transferred me right over to them. Keep in mind I had no idea they were one and the same. Lady assured my service was fine and would t be having any problems. Today my phone was disconnected. CSR who is also a manager said that everyone had to get recertification done. I called bull$#*! and asked to talk to his manager. Told me he had no way to get ahold of him. So after 30 minutes of me demanding answers and him reading from a script in very broken English, I gave up and paid a months fees so I would have a phone. It would help to have call centers in the states instead of India or Bangladesh. I know for a fact his name wasn't Louis! Long story short, use a different service, the people couldn't keep their lies straight.

I'm 4 Safelink except u deal w/ crappy Tracfone maze of support. If u have Safelink and can get a second phone (which deflates the purpose) get that 2nd. Phone w/ another company. U will need a 2nd phone # or friend/family members # 2 to fix your phone. Plus Tracfone employees r the meanest/rudest people u can deal w/ they seem to take pleasure in watching u dangle and if u can, always call them from ur phone@ 611 so u don't use up ur minutes on hold.
If I could give less than 1 star i would. I would give it negative stars. Because the nokia g300 phone i got when activated is complete garbage. It crashes all the time and takes about 3-5 minutes just for it to react to your commands. Also when i bought a new galaxy s10e from their inventory. It did not even turn on. And now i have to wait 3-5 business days for them to send me label and box to return. And then i have to wait another 3-5 business days for them to receive it. And then when they receive it and check it. Ill have to wait another 3-5 business days for them to send it out to me. Wow. Now that sounds like it could be like 2 months of waiting. While i have this crappy nokia g300 phone. What great service. Btw, the galaxy s10e was about 200 dollars. I guess my first mistake was taking this as a carrier. Horrible. Take my word for it. I only use it cause its free -_- :D

If it was an option to select zero stars for their customer service and service. I would have selected zero they're incompetent they believe they are above the law do not want to put supervisors on the phone when requested is forced to repeat repeatedly what the issue is they have no tools to be able to assist you and therefore just aggravate you when you call they constantly hang up when you ask for a supervisor they refuse to transfer when you explain your issue they have no tools to be able to assist you when you calling they hang up with no probable cause to hang up whatsoever I would not recommend SafeLink services to anyone that needs the free and reduced phone service if I were you I would just continue to pay your contracted cell phone service

This doesn't even deserve 1 star. Safelink is horribly terrible in every possible way there is. I got my phone today & everybody tells me when I use the phone to call them it's coming up as from a Stephanie Gnzlz. I've called tech support 3 times to have them fix it & the first 2 times they said it should be fixed but it wasn't & the 3 time they tried to walk me through it but absolutely nothing helped. It may be a free phone & service & everything but it sincerely truly is nothing but garbage. I wouldn't ever recommend this to anybody. I had an "Obama phone" a couple years ago & I received numerous calls all the time asking for somebody I'd never heard of so I let that one go & got rid of it too. I like President Obama but this free phone & service is b. S.
After having absolutely FREE service with safelink for years...and never having had to "recertify" one time...I was told that I had to do my annual recertification.I gathered all of the required documents they asked for and sent them in in a timely manner.I then received notification via mail that my service was to be disconnected due to my not sending in the required documents.I called and argued with them for almost an hour,both safelink and lifeline.In the end I was basically told "tough $#*!",that I couldn't prove that I sent the paperwork in and they were going to disconnect me anyway.If I wanted my service back I need to REapply.In addition they had disconnected my Internet service twice leaving me only able to make calls.
Total bottom dwelling scumbags.And all you can get on the ph.fir customer service is some halfwit sitting in a grass hut in Bombay.
This Safelink service is basically horrendous. Every time I called to the main offices to ask for help or to make a complaint about the service, I was told a different story. This company changed from 4G to 5G, so the old tracphone did not work anymore, so they were supposed to send new phones to the customers. It is August now, and the tracphone us no where to be found. They basically shoved me out of the service by not providing another tracphone. My advise to others is to not apply to get this service, you will get a very deficient one.

I would never recommend Safelink to anyone in the beginning I was crazy about. I was very disappointed in their customer service last year I told them I need to replace the phone I had bad reception if you lose the phone you have to pay $25.00 plus they do not have a contract with California Lifeline services after being transferred 6 times I am so happy I went back to Assurance Wireless
Worst customer service EVER! 3 DAYS 9 HOURS TOTAL WASTED. Needed to be transfered to complete request which never got taken care of because they never could get me transfered without hanging up in me.

If they ripped you off, contact your States Attorney Generals Consumer Affairs (FRAUD) Division. Most of these State Depts. You can file your Complaint right ONLINE. They eventually will have to shut 'em down. They got my money back for me!

I've been trying to get my phone activated for over 2 months now just horrible and you get hung up on when being transferred would not recommend wish I could do under 1 star I would
My son went through SafeLink wireless for service after his phone through Metro got broken I would call to pay his bill and it would say it had been activated but it was never activated and two different times now we've had to call and stay on the phone for hours going through hoops and half the time they would say they don't see my payment and I'd have to argue and then get my payment back do not go through them because you will pay your bill and it will not register and you still will not have service it's so stupid it's not complicated I should just be able to pay the bill and his phone still be on but it's not like that with this company I'm telling you and it's extremely hard to communicate with them and they continually say they are confused by what you are saying even though you are being perfectly blunt and straightforward. I honestly don't even have any stars to give
I had my own fully paid iPhone so I Opted for the (BYOP) bring your own phone. I bought a new phone and decided to cancel my account because of crappy customer service. Now when I attempted to give my old phone away, it's LOCKED! So locked even safeLink Wireless or TracFone could not unlock it. I'm so mad.
So I first Signed Is up for safe link in 2020 sent me a good phone and I thought service was great Until someone stole my phone and I had to get a replacement from safe link they sent me a horrible phone that won't charge I've been on the phone with them 4 times and they keep telling me They will call me back yet I have no phone for them to call me back on because it's dead and won't charge. Are safe link workers that stupid
