My local Safeway has a Wells Fargo in it and that's extremely convenient for me. I do think they are a bit pricey, but they have beautiful produce. I also like the deli section as they have some items I'm unable to find elsewhere
I got screwed on Just for U again. Loaded the Club Card with weekly deals & only received membership discounts. The clipped coupons did not compute. Fu*ked again Safeway. Oh well, I'll get even somehow.
Every time I get rewards. You take them without warning. Seriously. This is such BS and that is putting it politely. Before you would let one know if they were expiring.

They frequently substitute stuff I didn't ask for. I do like that they finally added a substitution choice list and it's gotten better since then. They don't track their deliveries at all. When late and you go to the chat they say they're 'escalating' it and someone from the store will contact me and that never, EVER happens.
Title says it all. My groceries were supposed to be delivered between 3-4 pm. By 8:30, I had had enough waiting around and I cancelled the order. They inform me I have to wait 5 business days for a refund... I need that money now, to buy my groceries from someone else! Never again!
Safeway has convenient locations with okay pricing. The app is a little tricky to use sometimes and I wish the sale price would just be automatic without having to click it in the app. Still like shopping at Safeway better than Walmart.
Safeway Canton has a handful of excellent normal employees who do a great job and are decent people. But the company has a policy of hiring people who are mentally and emotionally challenged as part of a federal assistance program. And there have been some incidents of bizarre behavior like insulting customers and aggressively getting in their faces over nothing. Like not picking the "right" shopping cart when we come in the door, or some item if our clothing they don't like, etc. Sometimes we don't feel safe shopping there.
Driver called and said he was late but never showed. Still have the VM. Store charged me anyway. Called customer service & was told they would redeliver (deceiving me in thinking full order would be delivered). They sent produce only. I declined produce. Still no refund. They should require the drivers to take a pic of the delivery instead of thinking the customer is lying or just don't offer delivery service. Now I have given these people 86.00 dollars with nothing to show for it, not even a receipt (48 hours after customer service said they would refund total order). They also said someone would be contacting me about the situation and no one has. I will be sending a letter to the corporate office and contacting the State Attorney General Consumer Protection to file a formal complaint.
I order groceries online for pickup. I rely on updated info to select. When I get my purchase receipt it is out of stock. When I go back to the order site it shows availability. This is not professional. I expect this from a mom and pop entity. This scenario has repeated itself seven consecutive orders. I'M AT WITS END!
Went to Safeway to buy milk today in Coquitlam bc. There was a snow storm 2 days ago and things don't run on time after this. Well there was no milk in the store, so I asked the cashier if she knew when it would come…don't ask, they will freak out on you, very rude answers and not very professional. All they need to do is say I don't really know. They need to put a sign on the milk fridges to tell customers that the milk is delayed.
This store had a really nice lady Store Manager named Kathy who busted her butt to improve the mess a male Store manager had made previously. She interacted with the public and was a positive influence on employees. What did Corporate do? They replaced her with a 'local boy' looking to improve his career. Male chauvinist corporate insensitive jerks! Don't work there and don't shop there. Safeway doesn't care about its employees or customers one bit.
I worked for this safeway, and it was god-awful. I was always yelled at and never got help. I was never allowed to use the bathroom, and I was harped at by Charlotte and put down by Rodger. I had to do everything by myself, and I even got yelled at even after they fired me. Even some of the workers are god awful and mean

The above item purchased from Clicks. It has or had a permanent filter which unfortunately I accidentally damaged beyond repair. Safeway have not even had the courtesy of responding to my emails attempting to source another filter and Clicks despite numerous emails requesting assistance in getting a filter from Safeway just keep coming back with excuses.
Neither company in my opinion have the remotest idea of " customer service " and I have dumped the Safeway machine. I will purchase another machine only not from Clicks or Safeway.
I had the same trip frm Toronto to Quebec few yrs ago but this time we had an excellent experience. Sandy, our tour guide was the best in all aspect. I have been ordering online from Safeway off and on for about 4 years now. I have NEVER had a good experience. I tell myself never again but end up trying 6 months later or so. Today's order has substitutions that I did not select, negating any sale for those items. I was very careful with my substitution choices, and still they messed it up. Prices shown online are not what I end up getting charged. I've gone in several times for refunds, which the store is always good about, but I haven't done that since the pandemic so not sure how it would go now. The website should give you options to add items to your list and to your cart without having to go back and forth. The weekly ad should also have these options. HUGE PAIN POINT for ALL customers. Cannot believe it has not been updated to be more user friendly after all these years! Get it together Safeway! I. AM. DONE. Also, why is the store out of so many items at 11am? Seems the shoppers aren't properly trained or just don't care.
Where to start? Prices exceed reasonable inflationary increases. The so-called Safeway app is worthless. Clumsy and difficult to use. Wastes time and is frustrating. Shelves have empty gaps which has continued post Covid. Pharmacy doesn't tell customers when an app like GoodRx will significantly reduce cost even with government plans. They'll disclose that but not without asking. Not focused on customers. Almost anywhere else would be better than Safeway.

The app requires photo of so-called “sales”. This is sent to checkout. Completely unnecessary, expensive in time and effort for customer, and user unfriendly. Disgrace
This insurance is waist of money and health( nerves). It will take you at list a month to get you car done, and these in case you have time to email and call them every day non stop, anyway nobody answers. The worst experience ever, they treat everyone like p of s…this what the mechanic told me, where my car was fixed. They don't work with big dealerships like "Hunday" for example, but will not inform you about this, just small mechanic shops, be careful and read the policy, even if they will tell you to do the car where you please, like I said it's miscommunication, nobody answers your calls, just a few text messages that seems to be written by robots. Just be aware and better to not have any affair with them.
Bill, Teresa and Ally are literally the worst. They are in a 3ring circus there at Safeway store. You complain and they never send in the complaints on another member of their team so they keep staying at the top. These three people treat other staff and customers like they are utter trash I've had it happen to me too many times to count and now the store is stealing money from y'all. Check your sales and receipts make sure you're getting the right prices.

Before during and after pandemic Safeway all across western Washington has become the most expensive grocery store hands down. With the combined buying power of Albertson's, Vons and Safeway, making them the 4th largest grocery chain in the US they are not passing their purchasing savings to the customers. This is a exact item comparison with several major grocery store chains with sales not included. Typically 30-50% higher than other stores. There is no value added benefit to the customer either as customer service and selection is marginal at best.

So looking forward to a new store in RENO. Unfortunately will never go back. I waited almost 35 minutes for a sandwich.The poor employees, I feel sorry for them. So disorganized. When finally got my sandwich it was not what I Ordered because they were apparently out of all the meat and cheese. Lettuce dry and wilty. Back to Sprouts we go.
Boycotting King Soopers due to strikes, so I tried Safeway. Never again. Produce is rotting overpriced garbage, if there is any; no affordable meat and cheese. Grocery selection was dreadful This was a Ft Collins store. I would have better selection, animal treatment, and pricing if i went all the way to Denver to the specialty shops. I can't even articulate my disappointment with one trip to Safeway. I'd rather shop at Target, and my Target burned down and I'm willing to drive 20 miles to shop at something that isn't Safeway. I don't like to post negative reviews but it was SO BAD I cannot in good faith endorse them, even if I was paid handsomely. I signed up for the rewards program and it's still outrageous. I didn't even get a receipt to verify my purchase

I bought produce and deli items, the produce was hit or miss and the deli was insanely overpriced (only $7+ meat and cheese). Couldn't afford the meat section, and couldn't find anything else on my list. The shelves weren't bare, they just didn't have half of my list. Not even anything exotic
No matter how hard I try, the App never seems to work well. Just tonight, I wanted Peets, which was on sale. Since I already ran into trouble putting sale prices in my phone at home, I went to the store to use the price scan option. It didn't work - so I tried again - and once again- nope. I figured out that I could add it in manually, except I put it into the cart for grocery pickup.
When I was checking out, I didn't get the sale price. I wasn't surprised, as it's happened on many times to count. Unfortunately the clerk who helped me gave me a rash for not correctly adding the same price. I am sorry for that person, because I guess they hear complaints often, but this person's attitude was horrible. I almost never shop there anymore, hopefully Kroger will do a better job after the purchase of the Safeway brand goes through.
As a retiree on fixed income, I have used Safeway.com for the convenience of online ordering and curbside pickup for 3+ yrs. And now find that instead of debiting my recently qualified EBT, purchase, it was deducted from my bank account. Not the first time! BEWARE of info you provide online to this company.
I went here in need of home delivery which they offer in my area (I was caregiving for a relative and could not get out to shop). The selection was dismal -- pretty much only store brands -- and the prices were astronomical! I can live on pent butter sandwiches a lot longer before submitting to this highway robbery.
The Pearl District Portland Safeway won't staff the customer service desk when customers need them too. This has been going on for over one years time! The manager on duty refused to open it on more than one occasion when I asked. I have to go to a different store to get my needs met. This store is close to my home and I do not drive! Please staff the customer service desk or tell the MOD to open it when customers want service.

I'm getting tired of seeing store ads from Safeway regarding products that are supposed to be on sale. This week its the split chicken breasts(at the great price of 97 cents). Unfortunately, you go to the store and guess what, no split chicken breasts. Then, you find out that the store doesn't give rain checks on meat anymore. So why the ad? The manager says good luck with that. We rarely see any supply. It almost seems as though this is some form of gimmick and misrepresenation to get customers to flock to the store only to find no product.
