Everything's overpriced, produce is ridiculously overpriced they play stupid games with prices so they can track you, they stock poor neighborhoods with substandard food and damaged items, this market is pure corporate evil, oh and they have the $#*!tiest bakeries in the world! $#*! you Safeway there's nothing safe about you!
I am not employed by safeway. I do not appreciate the fact that your only clerk this morning refused to check out any small purchases. I do not get paid to check myself out. This is a bad thing to expect people to do when you don't pay us to do your job
Unfortunately who I thought was a trustworthy older lady was a thief in disguise... She told me $5 due and then pocketed the money and had the nerve to say I'm not giving it back! Wow! I'm fully disabled and paid with an s3 card and this coldhearted employee tells me I have a balance... I pay and you pocket my money and then get smart! Wow! Ms. Patricia shocked me but kharma is alive and real and I will get my money back!
My disabilities make it nearly impossible for me to shop by myself, so I rely mainly on grocery delivery. The last time I had a delivery scheduled, they called me an hour into the delivery window and told me they had cancelled it due to short staffing. Not even an offer to reschedule - they said I would have to re-enter the whole order. They will not give any kind of priority to people who are disabled, so now I'm having a very difficult time even getting groceries. I try to talk to Safeway Delivery about it and they tell me to call Customer Service. I call Customer Service and they tell me to call Safeway Delivery. I talk to the store managers and they say to call the corporate office, which never answers the phone and has no way to leave a message. And they have the nerve to tell me they care. GAG
The Safeway app is poorly designed. It is difficult to load, locate, and edit discounts I have loaded onto my app. Why can't I delete old "For U" discounts and why can't I have all loaded discounts in my digital grocery cart? The poor design feels like it is purposely confusing and make me want to shop at a big box without all the confusing discounts.
The list you put will stay for a month even you use it or not. It's very hard to figure out which coupons are used or not. The only way you can know is to call customer service. Some of the coupons didn't come out at the register. Call them they just tell you it did with no proof or just to get rid of you. They change a newer system, may help the elderly but hasn't solve the problem.at cvs if you have a reward the minute you used it it gone with in one to two hours. The list you put as for just for you will stay for month or some of them will be gone without you used them becuse of their technical problem. They have to change to different company or the have to find some one who can fix the problem. It has been almost ten years with this kind of problem... good luck solving this.

We purchased a roast from Safeway in Salida, CO. After spending hours preparing the roast and the meal, we sat down to eat. My mother starting choking and we removed a piece of the polystyrene glove from her throat. The we studied the roast. The rest fo the contaminated glove lay mixed in the meat. It honestly looked like a piece of fat. Lesson: Never eat meat from Safeway.
I am a long time shopper at Safeway, I like your stores and products, I do not know what is happening to the Union/ research store but now I remember why I don't shop there, the men cashiers are friendly, helpful and smile, but some of your female cashiers need a refresher course, yes, I have told the Manager how nice it is to come back to my store, Bamn! Again this morning not so nice again!

I have been scammmed multiple times at Safeway. They are in your face. It's almost robbery. I did an small online order to save time. Arrived at the store and the woman told me that I came to early. When I said, I will come
Back later then, she said: She will just cancel the order and can open another one. In order to upload my order I should put my cc in the card machine. When I did, she charged me again. So now I paid twice for same order and there will be too much in the register. My order supposed to go out free. After I left, what she will do is obvious, she changed the amount by a few cents less than a dollar to let it look I shopped twice. Before she goes home, she will have to take out the store charge and put in her pocket, otherwise they will have excess money. She told me there was no action necessary from my side. The second unpicked order will Just go automatically back to my account within 24 hrs. Of course it didnt: it Landed in her pocket!
I have been shopping at Safeway for years. And I almost always use self checkout. They must have done an update to their self-checkout system. The last 3 times I have been in, it has needed approval from the self checkout clerk after I scan about 3 items. It yells at me the put my item in the bagging area or scan my item even though I have and the clerk comes over and views everything I have done only for it to happen again after I scan a few more item. It appears the scales in the bagging area are much too sensitive. I sneeze, I need approval. Is lightly brush bagging area, I need approval. I mive items in the bag slightly to make room, I need approval. There is now no way to get in and out of Safeway quickly. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Long lines, long waits and now self-checkout takes longer than waiting in line for a cashier? And you treat me like a criminal to boot? Bye Safeway.
For the first time in 15 years we tried to shop again at Safeway because of an ad flyer chock full or "deals" on "coupons". It's trickster retail - "member price" and "click and save", a real joke.
Member card and Safeway Just 4 U are not connected. Store clerk not accommodating enough to go through my flyer to scan the paper coupons I brought to the store when my member number and phone app didn't sync.
Lost all the discounts I went there to procure. Amazing theft Safeway pulls off right under customers noses.
I am back to boycotting Safeway from my life forever. I shop at 3 different HONEST stores that do everything they can to help me get the price I deserve by shopping with their app and discounts, etc.

I ordered a full array of products in hope of avoiding having to sop myself and could get cooking sooner--I only got half of what I ordered--only dairy and deli. I was told I'd get a credit for what wasn't delivered--what about my delivery fee and inconvience! NOT GOOD customer service!~

I bought 6 5ths of Perrier & a magnum of champagne. The checker $#*!ed about having to wrap these. He'd never heard of the empty six pack wine holders so no luck there. When home & unpacking there were only 5 Perrier! Called store. Was blown off. Then the delivery my roomie ordered from Safeway was cancelled by them. Too busy to deliver!
I was shopping at the Safeway on 44th ave on Saturday 10/5/19 and tried to leave a review then but I couldn't get the site to work. I live in the neighborhood so I shop at this location often. I just have to say that Dominick has always been there to greet me me smiles and a warm conversation every time. He's always very helpful and he's so pleasant to everyone around him including customers and his staff. He makes an effort to make your shopping experience a good one. He really should be recognized more. He does a great job!
Do not order on line for delivery. They have a third party delivering and its a nightmate. I have been waiting since 10 am and now 7 pm and have half of order. They provided me with another time 1 pm to 3 pm. Then no food order arrived. I called again and then they said 5 pm to 7 pm. Still no food arrived. I called again and now maybe 8 pm to 9 pm. It is a nightmare. I never had an issue until they stopped hiring drivers.
Many Fridays I went to safeway for Friday special sale products after work about 5pm. But they always sold out. This Friday I took off 3 hours earlier to get there for the special sale products, but they still sold out. Waste my time. So disappointed.
Shopping should NOT be so difficult! Clipping digital AD's when I'm already a member? Having to do extra work on a horrible App & confusing Web Site, why bother I'm done. Then I have to get in line at the customer service desk and wait to fix the issue. Everyone in line had the same problems with the STUPID digital ads or sale prices not coming up correctly. The Safeway employees also hate Digital Ad's! There are too many other grocery stores that are better overall when you add in time and effort not to mention not being frustrated or upset after shopping Goodbye Safeway - Rename your store too Hardway!

Representative are not helpful at all. Anoing and dismissive attitude. Phone calls are constantly disconnected by representative because they don't want you to leave at the end of the phone call bed servey. Not a good English. The company who is hiring them to hendel there clients complaints are paying for one big nothing as a service.
