I bought 6 5ths of Perrier & a magnum of champagne. The checker $#*!ed about having to wrap these. He'd never heard of the empty six pack wine holders so no luck there. When home & unpacking there were only 5 Perrier! Called store. Was blown off. Then the delivery my roomie ordered from Safeway was cancelled by them. Too busy to deliver!
Every time we try to buy any meat product that's on sale, we have to ask at the window and they always attend with a bad attitude and have to wait for a long time to.br served.

In the deli department there was a young man wearing dangling earrings while handling food. I know this is a health code violation for food and safety.
They have coupons, member discounts, ads for $10.00 delivery fee. (If u don't order beer.)I order 20 pk cans Pepsi to get my Coors beer! LIMIT 2 PER PERSON! Plus more! THEY have FETCH Rewards now too. Go there to get your email receipts that Safeway has. GO FETCH your Rewards ( Fetch Rewards offers sales etc to get email credit for your order. You earn points. I got a case of bottled water free. Have $ off specials, fee products for points! Check out and look. It's free to look! I'm glad I stuck thru their growing pain problems! Delivery fee INCLUDES your tip to driver! You don't have to be there, & then if alcohol ordered you need anyone of age to be there!
I have been to several different Safeway stores and they all seem to have something in common they are very overpriced and yet there bathrooms are old and outdated and sub par
The above item purchased from Clicks. It has or had a permanent filter which unfortunately I accidentally damaged beyond repair. Safeway have not even had the courtesy of responding to my emails attempting to source another filter and Clicks despite numerous emails requesting assistance in getting a filter from Safeway just keep coming back with excuses.
Neither company in my opinion have the remotest idea of " customer service " and I have dumped the Safeway machine. I will purchase another machine only not from Clicks or Safeway.
Driver called and said he was late but never showed. Still have the VM. Store charged me anyway. Called customer service & was told they would redeliver (deceiving me in thinking full order would be delivered). They sent produce only. I declined produce. Still no refund. They should require the drivers to take a pic of the delivery instead of thinking the customer is lying or just don't offer delivery service. Now I have given these people 86.00 dollars with nothing to show for it, not even a receipt (48 hours after customer service said they would refund total order). They also said someone would be contacting me about the situation and no one has. I will be sending a letter to the corporate office and contacting the State Attorney General Consumer Protection to file a formal complaint.
I love Safeway and loved the old app. I hate this new app though and have deleted it. It never works and rare occasions it does, it's miserable to use!
Just for U is good for finding bargains. But in July, Just for U was temporarily disabled. It's back up during August so I keep checking it regularly for digital coupons.
Ever since this store started doing digital coupons there have been problems. I use the computer to click on coupons since i have no cell service and now horrible litte computer to carry aound with me called a "smart phone".
Sometimes the digital coupons work, sometimes they don't, sometimes some work and other do not, all downloaded at the same time. I have heard this from many others including safeway employees. I have gone back to the site and double checked only to find that YES it says I did click on it. So how come Fred Meyers can do it right and Safeway cannot after all this time? Plus, without fail, if I buy more than 3 unique items at any Safeway store I am overcharged for something. When I bring this failure of the digital coupon to work to the cashiers attention i am met with hostility (Longview, WA, St Helens, OR) and told I am a liar. I say Safeway is a liar and this is bait and switch tactics and this is not the only bait and switch they do at their stores. I now hat them and have been a customer there for decades but this digital crap and the trouble it causes makes me pretty much shy away from them and if I have to go there it is 3 items only, no more, ever. And watch them very close.
How many other have this issue? It may be jsut a Longveiw, St Helens thing since people here are really horrible.
What a bunch of horse $#*!. I spend an hour or so researching who has the Johnson and Johnson covid vaccine, filling out Safeway's questioner, making a f ing apointment. Get dressed to drive to the appointment - wait in line - only to be behind someone who they tell they don't have any vaccine (Pfizer) mixed up and it will be 20 to 30 minutes. When it is my turn they tell me the same and ask is this my first or second shot. I said I'm getting the 1 shot J&J. They say they don't have any been telling IT that for some time and they aren't going to have any for weeks. Horse$#*!.

So, they've gone and UPDATED the app that has always worked perfectly well. That USUALLY doesn't bode well for users of the app!
Before, when you'd see an item at the advertised "JUST FOR U" price, if you decided you WANTED it... you'd "click" on it. It then showed "ADDED" and you were done! You'd go to the check out, and you'd GET the item for the SALE price! Easy peasy!
NOW (with the new "improved" app) you see the item you want, you "click" on it. It shows "ADDED" but you're NOT done! If you go to check out, you're going to pay FULL PRICE! (THIS is "new and improved?)
So what you've got to do, BESIDES clicking on it and SEEING "ADDED"... you HAVE to look down... click on "MY LIST", and it shows a list of the items you've ALREADY clicked on.
You THEN have to scroll down the list, FIND the item you JUST CLICKED on... and click it again! THAT, concedes you your "discount" price! How is this BETTER?
We've about decided to just go down the street to the LOCALLY OWNED market/grocery store and click on NOTHING! It MAY cost a little more, but it's a LOT less of a hassle, and I don't feel so used and abused! Lol!
This is the third time i have had groceries delivered to my home. And by far Safeway sucks... either they don't follow up with what they have in store. Or care nothing for customer satisfaction. One point on this matter. It was as simple as walking their lazy rears to go look into their dairy section and make sure they have gallons of Milk. Before they say they are out of stock. Driver found a gallon of milk, but was told the ORDER at the time didn't have it, and they refused to make good on this. This information was made available via my delivery driver. Third attempt and they again were completely out of any type of pre-made salads. Again. This is bad business. And I will not be doing business with them in the future.
We purchased a roast from Safeway in Salida, CO. After spending hours preparing the roast and the meal, we sat down to eat. My mother starting choking and we removed a piece of the polystyrene glove from her throat. The we studied the roast. The rest fo the contaminated glove lay mixed in the meat. It honestly looked like a piece of fat. Lesson: Never eat meat from Safeway.
They thought my daughter didn't look 12 so the refused her a shot. Awesome work, guys. You've lost a customer for life. Probably two when she dies from COVID.
So I went in to safeway Zip ******* AZ to buy peaches as advertised for. 49 a lb I was in the self checkout when it charged me 2.99 a lb I asked for help she said she will take care of it. Then the whole thing went down. Told me to go to a regular checkout I did I told them if the peaches are not. 49 cents i dont want them. Long story it turned out not only did they charge me 2.99 but double charged me. I had to go to customer service that reversed it. Not even an apology. Needless to say I did not take the peaches.
Every time I get rewards. You take them without warning. Seriously. This is such BS and that is putting it politely. Before you would let one know if they were expiring.
