My husband and I purchased a vintage all teak Cheoy Lee Lion sailboat a couple years ago. We've been restoring it since then, both inside and out. This is the second time I've used Sailrite for supplies and instruction. They have incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. The supplies are great and came quickly. I'm not a professional seamstress so my work isn't perfect, but it fit the need and was very satisfying to create. I couldn't have made my projects (complete set of 10 inside boat cushions and house balcony privacy screen) without their phenomenal online instructional videos. To see more on the cushions and the boat (and do a little sailing tour in the San Juan Islands of Washington - check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT1Fy-_oBIE)
The patter I chose is a large 14 repeat. I got a 5 square that shows only a small part of the design and colors. Its dissapointing and difficult to use. If I had known how small it would be, I would have just ordered a yard!
Stuck indoors with the quarantine and tackling a big project (drapes), I found this website. This is the best video guide to grommet drapes yet! And the order I placed for a couple items to support my projectcame to me in just a matter days. Thank you!
Apparently, they have forgotten about my order. First time I order from Sailrite. I place my order May 8th by 6:00pm, which placed my order for the next day, May9th, as of today May 25 I don't even have a tracking number. Plus they closed from Friday to Monday due to memorial weekend. Keep in mind that they charge me 48.63 for 8 products almost 5 dollars extra per products. I have contracted them twice and the excuse is the Covid-19 situation. This order may take a month to be delivered? I'm very disappointed.
I havent taken the fagric and roller shade hardward out of the box yet, but I have watched a few instructional videos posted on the websit. After pricing out custom shades and piecing-it-all-together prices elsewhere, I came back to Sailrite. The upfront customer support helped me feel confident in my purchase. I have 8 more windows to make shades for. I'll stretch the project out a little bit at a time so it is affordable.
I just received my 2ft square leather after waiting close to 1 month to get it. One side looks like it was ripped instead of cut and it is not 2 ft long. It is short by 2 inches. I would have thought that Sailrite after all I have spent over the years would have given me a better quality piece of leather. What a disappointment.

Hello Raymond, the leather we sell is designed for high chafe areas and is cut straight from a hide. Pickers/shippers will cut these as close to the size ordered as possible, while working within the confines of the hide. We try to make this clear on the website by mentioning, "This is a natural product (not synthetic!). There may be imperfections or holes in the leather, cut edges will not be true, and pieces are often not square." but is missed a lot of times. If the leather received will not work for your purposes please let me know (zach@sailrite.com) and we will issue a return authorization for you right away. Best Regards, Zach Grant
My 1991 Benneteau 38 was in desperate need of a new foam-backed head liner. After carefully watching a couple of Sailrite "how to" videos on replacing headliners we went ahead and bought 3 yards of white and a can of spray adhesive. My wife and I decided to just do the head for now. She is quite a good sewer so once I tore down the old head liner and prepared the surface (by far one of the dirtiest, foul and challenging jobs ever!) she cut out the vinyl, hemmed the edges and together we sprayed on the adhesive (foam and boat) and rolled it onto the walls. It was a sweaty and fumey job with two adults trying to lay up this sticky mess but, in the end, it came out pretty good. Not a job for the faint of heart or under-commited. It's a royal pain in the butt but will make my old boat look new and fresh!
I was interested in adding filtering to my facemasks. Sailrite had a wide selection of fabrics and quantities that met my needs. It was also nice to see some of the more technical attributes of the materials and the origins.
I wanted to see the colors of the sunbrella fabrics before I ordered; and I am so glad I did. You really have to see what colors look like in your space and light. Now I know I can order in confidence. I almost made a costly mistake.
I have been sewing off and on for over 30 years and have several sewing machines for home sewing, quilting and embroidery work. None of my machines are strong enough to work on several layers of denim or canvas (I've tried, many broken needles). My husband and I recently purchased a used boat in need of new canvas covers so I purchased the LSZ-1 to do the canvas work myself. I've been working on several canvas bags to test out the machine before working on the boat covers. This machine is heavy duty and reliable (no broken needles). The getting started videos are awesome and easy to follow. I've watch several videos to replace the canvas covers on our boat, I've ordered all the materials from Sailrite and I'm hoping to have the covers done this fall. The only con is the weight of the machine. It is very heavy for me to lift the machine on to my sewing table when it's in the case. But that's what husbands are for.

I did just locate your order (not forgotten) and we are likely to your date of orders for shipping tomorrow. The issue is that with the Covid situation is seems everyone is sewing from home. We can only ship so many orders on a daily basis. We have ramped up as much as we can and our employees are working tons of overtime. But for this weekend we decided to let them take the full three days off to keep their sanity. Please let me know right away if you no longer want the order. I am so sorry for the delay. matt@sailrite.com
