Used the chat to gain information about their recovery services. After reading reviews about their unmentioned $40 return shipping fee if you decline their service after evaluation, I decided to go with a local company. However, these guys continue to text, call, email asking me to drop off my disks. I politely declined their services several times via text and email but they keep saying they'll keep my case open, "circling back around" to see if I still need their services. I said NO. I finally had to block their phone calls, texts, and emails. Why are they so desperate? I would not trust them with my data.

The company wanted to charge me 1800 to recover data on an external hard drive. When I declined they wanted to charge me 40.00 + 10.00 to return the media. I would advise customers to beware.

I had old floppy disks that I believed held genealogical information. I specifically said that I did not want to
Pay for work on program disks, which I sent along thinking they would be helpful. What I got was useless, obsolete program disks, no data and a $1400.00 charge on my credit card. When I complained, my previously personable account rep went completely silent. There was no file list to view before payment.

Even though after the free evaluation they found out that my data was not recoverable, Alex called and explained the reasons as to why and told me that there was no need paying as per their company policy, if they cannot recover data then no payment should be made, which is good.

These guys saved my data! I had a internal hard drive crash and they recovered all the data! Pictures, videos and other memories over the years could have been lost with no hope in sight. But I am glad we decided to ship our hard drive. These guys know what they are doing and can do it at a great price.

I have made repeated attempts to get a status report with no response. The live chat folks know nothing and the assigned rep is a pure salesperson who seems to be working on a commission. They are about a month into this "recovery process." And, still no communications with the customer.

This company promised to complete my recovery in 3 months. It has taken 6 months and numerous follow-ups with zero updates / communication for them to tell me that they can't recover the data- conveniently on the day I press for more information about my case. And they're slapping me with a $40 bill to return my phone without my data. I'm furious.

Terrible company. They have had my drive for 8 months. Was told it was a basic recovery. Yet 8 months later, I still don't have my recovered drive. I never get updates and when I call them, my rep. Chris tells me approval email is coming, then it never does. They don't return calls or take initiative. Horrible company.

These people use your desperation of wanting to recover close to heart memories and photos to charge you thousands of dollars. They are truly morally wrong for the way they treat customers. Knowing people are desperate to recover such important memories, they try to leach as much out of you as they can. I was quoted over 5000 dollars for the quickest option to fix a clicking noise in my hard drive. I don't expect any regular person to have that kind of money especially if they are supporting others. Wesley Bowen my sales representative was especially unhelpful and didn't respond to a single message or call of mine. On top of that after waiting two weeks after paying for my hard drive to get shipped back to me, I called asking where it was and a woman answered the phone as if I was the biggest inconvenience to her in the world. I truly wish this company would go out of business for how rude they treated me.

I earlier had sent my computer to another dealer and they charged me $85 for just evaluating to see if any data could be recovered which they weren't able to. Then came here and the evaluation was FREE and these guys went ahead and recovered nearly all my data in just a week of having received it if you exclude shipping day!

I have a drive that stopped working all of a sudden. So I started looking around for data recovery places and stumbled upon Salvage Data. A couple of things why I will not use them now:
- My evaluation was done and I never heard from any of them. I had to reach out to inquire about it weeks later to get an answer.
- I was told that I would have to pay $40 to get my device back. If I was provided this upfront, I would've continued to look and gone somewhere local. I was only looking for a mere quote, but now have to pay to get my drive back. How is that fair on the customer's part.
