I got a vehicle and I was assured that it's neat and all,only to later find out after receiving the vehicle that it was sun damaged imagine and they are not responding to my request to fix the vehicle for months now..

Please, please, please stay away from SBT Japan if you don't want to lose your money or your inner peace, and if you don't wish to get frustrated by these thieves! I made a refundable deposit of 100,000 yen, but now, even after 35 days from my first request, I am still waiting for my money.

They have different stories about bank procedures and reasons to delay or buy time. Again, I think you should rethink your path to buying a car.

SBT is a black hole; you enter and never get back, I mean your money and your wellbeing...

Great company and outstanding people to work with very helpful and understanding. Make sure you give them your business we need company's like this and this is how they can stay in business. People like myself ordering stuff from them. I assure you will not be disappointed. Thanks Brad!

Dreadfully disappointing. I paid $70,000 for a 2019 Landcruiser with high specification, and was sent a 2018 Landcruiser with lower specification. When I checked the VIN on an australian govt database, it became apparent that the vehicle was written off in January 2019 in a beach accident (vehicle drowned). The vehicle delivered to me has evidence of salt water submersion, and has many electrical problems. Airbag sensors faulty, and were bypassed (see pic) to ensure the warning light stays off. SBT has been terrible in discussing my issues, and sends automated responses - the worst service you can imagine. Beware of SBT!

I bought a Landcruiser from them. They Bought and shipped an old vehicle wrapped seats with rubbers just same as what I Saw on their site. I realized I was sent a different car when I demanded to see shipment pictures... look elsewhere if you want to buy a car... SBT Japan will rip you off your hard earned cash...

I ordered a vehicle on the website, the pictures on the websites did not show clearly the extent of actual damage, received a damaged, I sent them an email but up to now they have no responded. Proceed with caution

I've purchased a Nissan Serena for delivery to the Bahamas. It was to be in perfect condition according to the ir inspection report. The vehicle arrived full of dents and SBTJapan is not willing to reimburse me the cost of repairs. Beware! Not an honest business.

Total frauds. DO NOT TRUST!
They advertise vehicles that are involved in accidents and are R graded by the auction inspectors. Of course Unbeknowst to the customer.
Conveniently they refuse to give the customer the auction sheet report and any information beforehand.
Total lack of integrity and honesty.
They took my deposit, refused to refund or choose a different car! Basically shoving it down my throat and telling me, whatever, go F yourself!
Now maybe stuck with a lemon that I don't feel comfortable with, and actually will be hard to sell to recover my money, coz my conscience will not allow me to withhold the information I discovered when I got the auction sheet. (I had to pay other companies to get the reports).
By the way, unlike other trustworthy companies, that state the terms and payment details when you decide on a car, they don't have any contracts that you sign with them... all they do is send invoices pay pay pay!
Very unethical company!

1: They sent me a car with a Brocken Fan controller would not take responsibility
2: They lied on delivery dates. They promised 8 weeks but took almost 15weeks
3: The sales reps make deals with unscrupulous dealers and clearance agents to hike the port fees so as to get a cut for themselves

I have bought a number of vehicles from SBT and descriptions are no where what the vehicle is 2 I received had blown engines 1 had blown gearbox and got no help from them not even a response and this is after waiting 5 to 6 months after I paid for the vehicles for them to arrive but to add insult they charged me storage in Japan and would not release vehicles till it was paid. Avoid at all cost

Have less then 3 hours on rebuilt engine. Bolts came loose per my mechanic. Was just out of warrenty per them but like i said had NO HOURS on it. My mechanic even discussed it with them. Said no and that was it. Would not buy another motor again from them. Second one, first only got 50 hours and my mechanic blamed it on the carbs. Now I wonder?

I bought 2 cars from SBT Japan, Stock ID DP5745 and US9055. First was full of rust around the engine and below the car. Second mini van had ABS error, Front Stabilizer links were broken, engine oil was muddy like it was never serviced before. Took it to auto shop for diagnosticsand found bad transmission, only could have use the mini van for 2 weeks. Now its unable to drive. When opened a complain with SBT japan, they said i only could have open complain within first 7 days. Upon arrival I did not drive the car right away.

Very bad customer service, No I have wasted almost $8000. Mini van will cost alone around $3500 to change the transmission and transmission control module. Will never buy from SBT again in my life

It seems once the car reaches your country sbt can not do anything.even when its a mechanical fault from there end. Be careful when buying anything from this company..

I going through the same exact thing right now and it's Mohammed and ahsan over 3 months now I'm supposed to get my refund and all I can get is excuse every single documents they ask me for I gave it to them and everyday the money is going to be refunded wen I call it's a different excuse I need my money! Because I will go to the extent to fet the government involved

SBT are running a cartel in Mombasa with some rogue dealers, you buy a vehicle from them they do business with your money and ship the vehicle after 3 months
When the ship is almost arriving they change consignee details and transfer to their accomplices in Mombasa,
You will start the cat and mouse game to get a refund of which they will penalize 50% of the money paid

Quick follow from my first review... SBT are still the biggest con artists in the Japanese car export market! They have promised multiple times to refund funds / help with the repair invoices, but they never make good! Always more lies! "Please buy more cars, and we will help fix your problems" Plus they keep emailing and won't remove me from their email lists.

Be aware of one of their salesman named Salik Ahsan Khan. - Best CON MAN Ever!

I bought a car through SBT in late November. It was an auction and in order to participate in it, l had to pay deposit. I was told by my Account Manager that my deposit is fully refundable - IT IS NOT! They refuse to wire back my deposit money. I emailed them my bank details multiple times yet they refuse to refund it. It is the same account l paid deposit from but they keep refusing and inventing new rules and problems weekly. They now try to blackmail me into signing document (attached) stating l will accept whatever they wire me back, which could be €1.
It is not all...l bought the car in November 2022 but it only arrived in May 2023! They cancelled initial shipping date and guess what, they invoiced me for the extra storage! Also when car arrived l was informed by the Customs that l must pay €2K shipping fee, EXCEPT, l already paid SBT extra for shipping. They blatanty stole my shipping money. Their Manager told me straight up, l can do whatever! They owe me around €3K at this point.
And it is not all...l bought a grade 4 car with only a small scratch on the side...the car that arrived is damaged, a green duck tape holds the trunk together (see the picture taken on Custom's carpark). The car is not what the description says, the whole back of the car is pulled out inside.
This company cheats and steals client's money. Management must be fully aware of it because Trust Pilot, Google and other websites openly discuss this scammers. Stay away!
