“Sears home warranty”

Richard M.
4/6/24

Called to schedule appointment. Took 35 minutes to get a representative. Schedule appointments for the next day. Repairman called and said it was not covered by warranty. I have a warranty on all my appliances and have had since I bought them, all from Sears. Called back had to wait another 55 minutes and was assured I was covered and a repairman would be out to check my appliances. I contacted the repairman he said that the status of my service call has not changed and I would be responsible for the service call. I told him I was not going to pay because I had a warranty. Call Sears back waited another 55 minutes. Was told they had a scheduling problem and that a representative would be calling me back with in the next hour with new scheduling time. That was 16 hours ago. I'm on hold now with the approximately 48 minutes waiting time. I have been doing business with Sears for over 30 years and I'm truly disappointed in the warranty service

“3 Week and Haven't Shipped”

Julien L.
9/27/17

Purchased an AC unit 3 weeks ago, has yet to be shipped. I called in almost daily after the first week, the only response I got was "we will contact you with updates within 24-48 hours" or "we have acknowledged your concern"... I am still waiting for my order to get shipped, this is 3+ week now, unbelievable. The most frustrating part is they don't care, and shoots you away when you call with false promises of finding out what the problem is. Incredibly frustrated, please be careful purchasing from these guys. They hold onto your money and doesn't make an effort to ship, and they don't even have the courtesy of informing you about delays or problems. You will just sit there and wait wondering where your order is. Stay away from these guys, simply incompetent shipping system and customer service.

What a shame. Products that need sold but only willing to ship at their exorbitant pricing/discretion. Not willing to ship to a closer outlet or use other methods of shipping. Guess we are crossing off SEARS completely from our shopping lists.
We were interested in a microwave at a Sears Outlet in the Chicagoland suburbs and wanted to see if they would ship to Kansas City Outlet but they were unable to and for a shipping charge was approx. $250 just for transport (UPS/FedEX/Speedee -NO!) only option is rail then delivery truck... RIP OFF... :(

The short version of what happened: It's been 1.5 months since we ordered our washer / dryer and we have the wrong washer / dryer sitting in our garage.

We ordered a washer / dryer. 3 weeks later we notice that the balance was refunded to us. No call, email or any type of notification. We called the store 5 times over the proceeding 3 weeks. They couldn't figure out what to do and promised they would call us back within a day each time. They didn't call us back a single time. Eventually we get them to order us new machines and the wrong ones arrived (and they forgot the hose). I'm sitting here on hold waiting to talk to the next person after being transferred for the sixth time. The last lady I talked to said she couldn't help me because I ordered it in store. I then told her that I ordered it online and she said she couldn't help me because I ordered it online.

If you are shopping at Sears Outlet, buy only the new product they sell. The return tested product is not what you think. Much of it is never tested until it gets to the customers home. The customer is doing the testing for Sears Outlet. The DOA product is very common and the stores spend much of their time correcting it. Shop Lowes, Home Depot and Best Buy. You will buy it new for about the same price.

I found a refrigerator that suited my needs with a reduced price due to a few scratches/dings. Most would be concealed so I purchased it.

I had to wait 1 day longer than allowable to offer feedback on searsoutletfeedback.com. The delivery window was made a little bit earlier than I requested so I left work early. Than waited until 45 after the original window for them to show up.

I was advised to wait a couple hours to plug it in so I did. When I plugged it in, I found out that it doesn't get cold.

Now I called for service and have to wait 5 more days for someone to repair it and I have to take more time off work.

So far nothing but a huge waste of time and money. I will never shop sears outlet again!

We recently moved and couldn't get appliances due to manufacturer's backorders. Therefore, we purchased a refrigerator here- big mistake. Supposed to deliver it between 2-4 today and didn't show up until 5! Told them I had to leave to pick up my son from school and I couldn't stay. They said they would set it up, but need to take two doors down to bring it inside. I said that's fine, but to look at for cats. When I returned, no refrigerator... No note, phone call anything! I called and they said they left because they needed someone to be there for the installation. To have it redelivered could take weeks! I want my money and time back!

I ordered a Thermador 48" gas cooktop on 6-25 received and order conformation the same day. On 6-26 I received a conformation of sale listing a completely different item a 30" electric range? Come to find out they both had the same part number. (how dose that happen) my service rep said they didnt have the 48" gas cooktop so they were just going to send a 30" range. Some times you just have to laugh.
Never again Sears

I used to love Sears, no more. We needed a new washer & chose a Kenmore which we have used for years. We were promised delivery, hookup & hsul away for 3 days away. Next day the auto attendant started calling in a recorded message stating that our order would be delayed. We tried soeaking with Sears 22 times over the next 24 hours with mostly lousy connection quality. Some of the Sears agents almost spoke English. Several said Sears does not install but will leave washer in driveway. Some agents said they would call back with answers, but didn't. Finally an agent who could communicate said delivery would be delayed 3 weeks because the warehouse was out of inventory.

It seems rather basic that inventory would be checked at the time of the sale one day before. Duh!

We canceled & purchased a different brand, an even better washer at an even better price with next day delivery.

We will never buy Sears again. So sad.

Ordered a dishwasher online to be picked up. A day later they tell me they no longer have that dishwasher in stock. The email was a so sorry email. In the middle was the sentence "Let us make it up to you." So I call the store to see how this might happen. They said they didn't write it, customer service did. Call them Goodbye.
I call customer service and they tell me that the order had been canceled and they didn't write the email, the store did. Well, I've got no dishwasher and my credit is still processing. No wonder Sears is going out of business. A sad end for a once decient company.

Don't buy from Sears Outlet. I purchased an Out of Box refrigerator which included pictures. What was delivered was not the refrigerator that I purchased. The delivered refrigerator was severely damaged and had been previously used. I called Customer Service whom agreed that the refrigerator could be returned since it wasn't what I purchased. The CS rep tried calling the Marietta, GA store *******737) and no one answered. Since the CS rep couldn't get them on the phone I was instructed to call. No one answered the phone after two days of calling.

I bought a new washer, which they dented up on delivery. I complained to them about it, but was told it was not their responsibility of the delivery, since it was a third party service, not theirs. I didn't hire the delivery company, I made a purchase and I PAID for delivery to THEM!

I purchased a washing machine and clothes dryer from SearsOutlet/American Freight in Kansas City MO. My prior experiences with Sears has always been 100% positive. This was my first "outlet store" purchase and it was a MAJOR mistake. The dryer, which we have used 3 or 4 times seems to work just fine. The washer - a Kenmore - is very noisy, bangs and knocks and then stops during the spin cycle about 50% of the time we use it. The screen displays an out of balance message. SearsOutlet/American Freight will quickly inform you that you cannot receive a refund of your money. I called Sears home services and have been on hold for what seems like more than 60 minutes. Recorded message directs me to "searshomeservices.com/chat" I did that. There I was automatically transferred to another site where for $5.00 I could pay for advice. I did that (foolish I know) and was told that in 7 days I would be billed something like $40.00 per month for this service. I really hate to say this because I have held Sears in such high regard for so many years but I think it is time to let Sears go. Stay AWAY from the outlet store/American freight. No service, NO refunds!

I recently came into knowledge that several persons were shoplifting at the abilene texas mall and immediately sought to contact some loss prevention authority at the mall starting with seats which I got no answer
The collards which has no website that list phone number to report this knowledge. Then abilene mall which also has no website that gives number to report to. These people aren't serious about loss prevention I couldn't get through to anybody at the mall over loss prevention finally have up. Bunch of dumbasses just drawing a check!

We purcbased a couch from the portage, mi store for $500. The gentlemanhas asked if I inspected the couch and informed him I inspected it the best I could. Unfortunately i wasn't able to inspect inside or behind the couch. When my husband went to pick up the couch he was not informed of any damage, when the couch was brought in to my living room, I noticed there was something pushing against the back fabric. A main support was damaged. I had called the store and they informed me that due to the couch being sold as is and us not buying an additional warranty, there was nothing they could do. I took it upon myself to open the bottom of the couch in attempts to repaair it and discovered the thing was put together like crap!. The "main supports" look like they were just snapped in half to fit the spot instead of cut appropriately. Unfortunately basically the whole thing is unusable. A complete waste of $500

Purchased a "floor model" (i. E. open box, no damage, brand new) dishwasher online, pick up from Portland Oregon store. The store says they ONLY have 'scratch and dents', and admit the website is misleading.

Dishwasher looks pretty good, there is a slight inconspicuous dent, so I take it home. Sure enough, the frame is bent (almost impossible to tell until you install it) and the unit leaks like a sieve at the (non) seal between the door and the chassis.

There is no repair or replacement option, just uninstall and return to store for refund. Lots of trouble for no gain.

Sears Outlet website (corporate) has no shame.

Having said all this, there are bargains to be had at the Sears Outlet store, in person, if you are knowledgeable and keenly aware. The store is full of appliances, and with time and attention you can sift out the bargain pearls (good pricing, no obvious defects) from the crowd of damaged and suspect units. If you see bent frames, stay away, for example. Unless you can un-bend the frame without compromising function or performance, in which case you can buy a 'good as new' unit for the price of a damaged unit. You are taking a chance in the hopes of scoring a bargain, and it is better to being home an appliance which fails immediately rather than one which works just long enough to outlast the return window.

P.S. I returned my dishwasher, and instead of asking for a refund I rummaged through a dozen or more models before I found one worth taking home, and the good folks at the store gave me an extra 10% discount.

"I tried ordering a Kayak from Sears outlet online. I placed the order and paid for it and than I got to a page what said.: YOUR ORDER COULD NOT BE PLACED, PLEASE TRY AGAIN.
I checked with my Paypal account and to my surprise Sears had taken my payment out my account.
I would like to know if anybody else has had this happening to them. As the exact same thing happened to me in November when I tried ordering a fridge from Sears. Than it took me over 2 months and many, many calls and emails before i finely got my money back.
As this happened to me twice now I am sure this is a trick from Sears to steal customers money. "

SEARS OUTLET IS SELLING DAMAGED FREIGHT SALVAGE LABELED AS "REFURBISHED" AND "SEARS CERTIFIED." THE APPLIANCES ARE NOT REFURBISHED, NO ONE HAS CHECKED THEM IN ANY WAY, AND THEY ARE TYPICALLY BADLY DAMAGED FROM TRANSIT. THE PRICING IS REFURBISHED PRICING, WHILE SEARS PAYS ON THE ORDER OF TEN CENTS ON THE DOLLAR. THIS IS CONSUMER FRAUD.

I ordered one couch and a dining set with 2 extra bar stools on 03/26/2018. They told me my couch was ready for pick up at the ontario, CA outlet off of vineyard and that my dining table set and stools were at the corona, CA location. Long story short, it's now 04/19/2018 and they still don't know where my dining table and stools are at. I went to pick up my couch at the Ontario location and my couch was on display with tears, stains and marks all over the couch. All the employees at that location advised me to still take it or cancel it and that it was the delivery guys fault that it was dirty (mind you, they had my couch sitting in their store on display for 2 weeks with NO barrier when they're supposed to have it fully wrapped and held in their back storage) There was a heavy set wanna be blonde with poor hygiene mis representing herself as a manager and supervisor. When we asked her to speak with a supervisor, she said there was no one else but her. (Of course, that was a lie because the real manager ended up coming up to us and trying to finally resolve the matter) They told me they cancelled it and they only refunded me for half of my purchase. As of today, they're saying they can't refund me because they can't find my merchandise.

Tip for consumers:
Don't buy anything from them! How it works is Sears contracts 3rd parties to sell their merchandise. They lose your orders and transfer you back and forth through different departments. The employees at those 3rd parties are all inadequate and have no proper training of customer service.

Had great customer service on phone. I ordered a glass top range online and called after to confirm I could pick up (local store scratch/dent item). No problem. Arrived and inspected and seemed ok. Got it home and next day in the daylight I started to realize it was pretty beat up - well beyond the dented drawer handle that was advertised. The drawer was all screwed up and as I began taking it apart to fix it (which required a good amount of hammering) - I saw the caster locations were all bent up and it was impossible to adjust them to level the unit. Also found a 2" Long crack In glass top caused by missing foam sealer section on the edge of the glass. No idea if it happened intransit or was like that as it's hard to initially see. But if it happened on the way home it was inevitable. They try so hard to sell you the extra sears insurance policy and I'd believe that's because a lot of this "floor model" / "dented" item equipment often has more wrong with it than meets the eye.

Also bought a washer/Dryer while there that was a floor model' and in getting it the house realized there was water in it and dryer lint in the pipe and all over the lint filter. Haven't tried it yet but worried now it was a return and is broken. Def not a floor model - bs.

Next time I'd skip the scratch Nd dent discount and buy new. Less worry, less hassle, arrives in good condition in a box with a manual.

Also ridiculous that they don't provide any info on the stuff in the store - model #, features, etc. just seems super scammy overall and sales people were mostly clueless about items.
