“Sears home warranty”

Richard M.
4/6/24

Called to schedule appointment. Took 35 minutes to get a representative. Schedule appointments for the next day. Repairman called and said it was not covered by warranty. I have a warranty on all my appliances and have had since I bought them, all from Sears. Called back had to wait another 55 minutes and was assured I was covered and a repairman would be out to check my appliances. I contacted the repairman he said that the status of my service call has not changed and I would be responsible for the service call. I told him I was not going to pay because I had a warranty. Call Sears back waited another 55 minutes. Was told they had a scheduling problem and that a representative would be calling me back with in the next hour with new scheduling time. That was 16 hours ago. I'm on hold now with the approximately 48 minutes waiting time. I have been doing business with Sears for over 30 years and I'm truly disappointed in the warranty service

“3 Week and Haven't Shipped”

Julien L.
9/27/17

Purchased an AC unit 3 weeks ago, has yet to be shipped. I called in almost daily after the first week, the only response I got was "we will contact you with updates within 24-48 hours" or "we have acknowledged your concern"... I am still waiting for my order to get shipped, this is 3+ week now, unbelievable. The most frustrating part is they don't care, and shoots you away when you call with false promises of finding out what the problem is. Incredibly frustrated, please be careful purchasing from these guys. They hold onto your money and doesn't make an effort to ship, and they don't even have the courtesy of informing you about delays or problems. You will just sit there and wait wondering where your order is. Stay away from these guys, simply incompetent shipping system and customer service.

I ordered a Samsung Range from Sears Outlet on July 24th 2018. The long and short of it: range was damaged, returned it, have been trying to get a refund since Sept 7th when they received it. January 7th 2019 still no refund. They have quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have called them counting, today Jan 7th, 7 times, spending anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes serially on hold only to have them tell me, that someone will email me with information in 48 hours. I have not received a single email. Their strategy seems to be to wear me down, so I will stop calling. But I cant afford to ignore $2000 on my credit card that I have now been paying interest on since August 2018. I tried a credit card dispute, but Sears told credit card people they never received the range, even though Sears Outlet customer service confirmed that they received it on Sept 7th. I cant help but feel Sears Outlet.com has robbed me and I am helpless. So as I said abandon hope all who order here.

So they promote the Make a Wish Foundation fundraiser that offers an EXTRA 15% savings when you make a $10 donation. Well, to make a long story short, they NEVER gave me the 15% off the price listed on the website. Everyone I spoke with online (email & phone) told me that the 15% off is already applied to the price shown online. They also stated that their website clarified that the 15% off was already applied. One gal even told me that customers get the 15% off whether they make a donation or not. The website clearly advertises that customers get 'an EXTRA 15% savings' when you make a donation and also states that the discount is taken off the promotional price. Not one person could direct me to where the clarification was that the 15% was already applied to the price. It took forever to talk to a manager. FALSE ADVERTISING. This made me so upset, especially since it was related to an amazing foundation. I cancelled my order and they refunded me what I paid for the washer and kept my donation, which I thought was pretty funny. They didn't even say anything about not refunding my donation. Of course I don't mind that part though. Just weird. Customer service is horrible. Don't shop here.

This joke of a company charges the customer hundreds of $$$$$ dollars to ship damaged items so they can damage them more and doesn't even deliver or ship the damaged item to the inside of the home; They leave the hundreds of pounds of appliance for you to pick-up and carry into the home alone! If you don't kill yourself trying to carry it into your home, then the next death knell is the $250 to $450 charges added on to the $1000 bill for the appliance! The real joke is on the consumer who pays for shipping (and the company is named American Freight!) and the delivery people leave it outside of the home? The virus here is not the Corona Virus but the vermin that expect the consumer to pay for the cost of shipping the item because they don't carry the item in the local store! The company won't stock a particular item in a warehouse, whether locally or regional, but call their stores "warehouses" and expect the customer to bear the cost burden of paying for the freight! Expect the customer to pay for everything! American Not-Freight should be the name of this joke of a company!

I PURCHASED GAS RANGE, WASHER AND REFRIGERATOR ONLINE. THE WASHER AND FRIDGE WERE DELIVERED 3/4/2020, BUT THEY HAD NO RECORD OF MY RANGE. I CALLED CUST SERVICE # AND THEY COULD NOT LOCATE IT. THEY HAD ME CALL THE STORE, AND AGAIN NO ONE COULD HELP ME. THEY ENDED UP DELIVERING THE WRONG RANGE, HAD TO GO TO STORE. THE LADY THAT HELPED ME WAS NO HELP. SO ON SUNDAY MORN 3/8/2020 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM SHAWNAH FROM ARLINGTON, TX SEARS OUTLET. SHE HELPED ME AND THE RANGE WAS DELIVERED THE SAME DAY, SHE WAS SO HELPFUL I ENDED UP GETTING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE RANGE. FOR A FEW DAYS OF CHAOS, SHAWNAH
REALLY HELP CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT THIS PURCHASE. I GAVE 3 STARS BECAUSE IT TOOK A FEW DAYS FOR EVERYTHING TO TURN AROUND. GOOD LUCK SHAWNAH.

We purchased a new refrigerator in Sept and the bottom didn't work. They gave us the run around on coming out to fix it. 3days b4 the warranty was up, we called and argued til the point of a new refrigerator. He said it will take 3 to 5 days to be shipped to the store. Well we didn't get a call. We kept calling. It arrived around the 24 of Oct. Then they said they're backed up on deliveries. So I talked to a manager and he said bring the old one and get the new one. I said u guys sold us a bad product and we have to bring and pick up, hell refrigerators are not light weight. He said if we can bring the refrigerator, when we pick the new one up he will give us a discount, so when we got there they acted like they didn't know what we were talking about. Then he said he couldn't find the order sheet. I said u gone let me walk out with this new refrigerator without a order sheet, yeah, right. So then he said let him look further into it so we waited he came back and said he will have to get back to us. I will never buy anything from no sears or Sears outlet again. I wonder how they will feel if I cancel my order on my credit card. This is one of the most worst experience. I encourage u to not buy anything from there outlet stores.

Tip for consumers:
I encourage you to not buy anything from they're stores.. worst experience ever

Bought a Kenmore refrigerator in good faith. Advertised as ice-maker compatible - great, easy upgrade. Per a Sears Parts Direct post, all Kenmore fridges after a certain date use a specific model ice-maker. Lacking any other reliable reference (see phantom model numbers, etc., below), I ordered that model. Nowhere close to a proper fit. Okay, sot of my bad there, so I took the hit and returned that one and resumed attempts to order the correct one. Couldn't find it anywhere, so I called Sears Parts Direct: rude customer service, phantom model and part numbers, ENORMOUS shipping charge not quoted until payment time, but hey at least I have my ice-maker coming, right?. OH, NO I DIDN'T! Because it didn't even exist; hadn't even been manufactured yet. Waited another four months, still no ice-maker (remember, the fridge was sold as ice-maker compatible). So I called the customer service line and asked to simply return the refrigerator and start over, perhaps with a different model through Sears. Was told that could only be handled by the store directly. Said she was emailing the store manager who would be contacting me the next day. Surprise! Surprise! No call. No email. No nothing. Clearly, BECAUSE THEY JUST DON'T CARE! I hate to see a once proud American retailer fall to this level. Irrespective, I'm never setting foot in any Sears store again and I encourage everyone to do exactly the same. And BTW, 10 months post refrigerator purchase and STILL NO ICE-MAKER! They just don't care.

I purchased a Drill online from Sears Outlet and immediately the money came out and was sent an email saying the drill was at the Houston Westheimer store and would be at my door approximately 2 days from ordering and that I would receive and email with tracking number once it shipped. I never got a tracking number nor has it ever been shipped. I have made numerous calls to the store and get a bunch of I dont knows and can I call back later or can we call you back? No! Im calling now! I have set on hold for over an hour many times only to be dropped or asked to try back later. Ive spoken to the store manager to only be told each time that it will be shipped first thing in the morning and tracking number will be sent to my email. Anyway 3 weeks later still No email, No tracking number, and no drill... And nobody gives a Damn! After filling this grievance with their comical complaint department which is an extension of the rest of their name brand or whats left of it I asked if I could go into the local sears store here and should they have it could i pick up there to which she replied yes they have it 5 block from where I live but was 9 dollars more for that same drill to which I replied, cant you absorb the 9 dollars for all my troubles? NOPE! Cant do that. So can you let me have that drill and send the one your supposed to send me to that store? NOPE! What a joke Sears has become. I see why and the generation that are running things today we dont stand a chance. Good service has gone from poor to criminal. Vote Donald Trump! And Dont buy from Sears Outlet! Guess Its ok for big corporation to steal from you but when I go into the store and walk out with my product I bet they will have me arrested.

DO NOT BUY FROM SEARS OUTLET. SERIOUSLY, I WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND TO 15 DAYS AGO AND PREVENT MYSELF FROM BUYING FROM SEARS. I have been on the phone and email to them no less than 15 times trying to get back the GROSSLY overcharged tax to my purchase. That they charged $30 in tax over what they should have is FRAUD and wrong to begin with, but the ridiculous treatment I have had to endure since then is beyond reason. I STILL don't have the refund back, and they to top it off I had a person yesterday assure my credit will be to me in 5 days, then this morning I get an email that they have sent me a credit of only $11. I"m convinced these guys are a sham, fleecing profits by padding the cost of the sale, then making it impossible to talk to any representative that can actually do something about it, and making promises that they will take care of it and then don't. Don't even get me started on the product - The people who delivered my washer wouldn't hook it up because they said the hoses that came with it are too cheap and crappy to use. WTH!? I wish I could give negative stars for a rating.

I gave one star because I couldn't post with zero stars. I ordered a dishwasher from this store on May 1st. It was, and continues to be, an absolute nightmare. I received a call from Pilot (the business that Sears uses to ship their appliances) to deliver the dishwasher on May 10th. When Pilot showed up, they had a dryer that was labeled as my dishwasher. I rejected it. No problem, I understand mistakes happen. I immediately called Sears and reported the problem. I was told I would receive a call from either Rocky or Arthur (Sears managers). I never did receive those calls but instead had to keep calling to speak with them. This has been consistent this entire time- they said they would call and never did. They did not seem concerned that I did not receive my dishwasher and in fact I felt like I was a complete bother to them since the beginning. Rocky and Arthur told me I needed to call the delivery service to find out where my dishwasher was. That doesn't make any sense! Why should I have to call a business that they hire out for delivery? I ordered the appliance from Sears! Not the delivery service. I finally received another call from Pilot, ready to schedule a dryer pick-up. This is when I started to get very frustrated. I had already sent the dryer back, there was no dryer to pick up. I had to keep calling Rocky and Arthur, both of them were SO unhelpful. Why have I had to be so proactive in this? I had to wait on hold for what has come to be hours over the course of a month and a half and it's STILL not resolved! Finally, at the beginning of June, I received another call from Pilot saying they had a dishwasher this time and were ready to deliver. Great! June 6th they were supposed to arrive between 11-3, they were late and I had an appointment at 4 so luckily my boyfriend was home when they arrived. When he answered the door they said they had a DRYER to drop off! My boyfriend asked if it was possible that the labels were messed up and they checked the appliance. It turned out to be the long lost dishwasher. But it was COMPLETELY scratched up and dented! He sent it back and I had to call Rocky and Arthur AGAIN and asked for a refund. And here is the best part. All that, and they didn't fully refund me! I am STILL short $100. I can not recommend NEVER buying from this store EVER.

My story: I bought a washer from a Sears Outlet store advertised on their website as having that item. That after chatting customer service to find out what they meant by "buying AS IS" as I could not believe they would mean just that. My 2nd huge mistake (after buying from these people at all) as I believed him when he said they just want to make sure I know I was buying refurbished. Shortly, that store called to say they did NOT actually have that item. I found the item in a different store also as advertised in stock on Sears Outlet Website but for $70 more; exact same item. I chatted Sears customer service again for over ½ hour trying to get some assistance in transferring my payment to the second store as I didn't have the funds in one day to buy 2 washers. I also wanted, since it was their advertised error, them to honor the 1st store price. They could do nothing to help me, NOTHING. I called their customer service number. I spent over ½ hour with that lady. She was just as unable to assist me in either of those requests. I requested to speak to a supervisor, busy (of course) and would have to call me back. I asked her then if she could at least call the 2nd store to check stock. She was quite put out, unwilling to put out any customer service effort, but finally in a disgusted voice agreed. I waited on hold for over 15 minutes to decide she was not coming back on the line. I called the 2nd store myself. Yes the lady from Sears main did call their store "some time ago" he said. So she did not intend to come back on the line to me. No, they do not have the item as Sears Outlet web advertised. No, the supervisor did NOT ever call me back. The 1st store did refund me but the bank, as normal, takes 7-10 days to process. Now, I have a broken washer and my money tied up and no way to get another washer. All this and I was 1 hour late for work and spent hundreds of dollars and about 3 total hours with absolutely nothing but frustration and a lesson well learned to show for any of it. Apparently, this is the way Sears runs their business and customer service these days. What happened to the good ole Sears? Never, never again will I deal with Sears and if you are smart, you will heed the warnings you read and stay away from Sears also.
