Watch out with this joke of a company!
I thought highly of them before I subscribed to their "Alpha Picks" subscription service for 6 months ($499.19) on 10 Dec 2024
Next day or two, I decided to end the subscription... but could not get a refund. Fair enough, that is their 'policy.'
BUT here is the issue.
This expensive service was supposed to last for 6 months. It lasted for 2 days.
A little over two months after my subscription purchase on 10 Dec 2024, I do not have access to the "Alpha Picks" service and neither will these people give me a refund.
Someone from Seeking Alpha called Soham Chowdhury kept emailing me, playing the fool and not offering either the "Alpha Picks" OR the refund, with a whole lot of pointless excuses.
If there are issues, they will keep your money and avoid talking to you... unless forced to by Chargeback or someone similar.
If you do not have a free account you have no access to any publications at all. So, I opened a free account and discovered that it is impossible to find accessible publications. Look at my photo #1 - it is a snap shot of the main page. 12 news of the right side look normal: no lock symbols or dollars signs indicating that it is a premium content. So, to write this review, I clicked on each of those - see my photo #2 as an illustration for the first attempt: the publication is for paying customers! Next 10 publications were in the same category. First and the only one, which was free, is #11. So mach for free content!
I think my chances to get a success would be much higher if I go to Casino... or to other financial/investment website.
I am a regular guy who wanted to read some news.
However, i never seen such a disrespectful approach to readers, hence, do not recommend this site.
Indeed, most of our content is for paying users.
Having trouble linking accounts. Customer service is horrendous. Took 5 days for poor response and then when I responded that the "suggested fix of paying for premium" was not valid since I was premmium already for 3 years... the ticket was shut down. I am now waiting again for more than 3 days for an answer.
About ready to cancel... it shouldn't be this difficult.
Rip off. Auto-renewals are a scam into themselves. But rarely have a seen an auto renewal without the ability to cancel and get a pro-rated refunds. This is a sign of desperation and shady business practice.
There's no reason to pay for any premium services from either Seeking Alpha or any of it's subscriber services. The data for premium members is easily accessed from other free sites. Much of the "economic analysis" from the company is highly biased. The feature writers are all over the map - most of them are unqualified people trying to get clicks for fees. The collective wisdom of the "analysts" are no better than the flip of a coin. Some of the analysts are painfully ill-informed.
The Point: Seeking Alpha is merely a social media company promoting the status quo. Their censors are merciless and heavily biased to whatever the prevailing mainstream media agenda may be at the moment. If MSNBC had a financial site, it would be a lot like this. Regardless of your view of politics or culture, that would, in my view, make Seeking Alpha an awful choice for financial information.

I tried a promotional subscription from Seeking Alpha and I was unknowingly renewed at their ridiculous rate of 236.00 $. It took me three phone calls and a week and a half to talk to a manager, only to be denied any kind of a refund. These people are all about the money, beware.

We would like to apprise you that - You were billed according to the authorization provided by you when you signed up for the service.
We furnish the autorenewal clause on the checkout while signing up for the service that clearly says that – the subscription will auto-renew at the then current annual list price until the service is canceled.
You could have avoided this charge, had it been canceled a day before the renewal due date.
We maintained complete transparency with the user, and the question of any confusion should not arise.

Quant rating of TIO stock was 4.99 for months. It was the best rated stock for most of that time. When it dropped over 50% it remained the top rated stock of the entire market and their analyst kept pumping that people should buy the dip. Than it went down additional 60% after a report saying that the firm was a fraud. SA deleted its historic ratings of TIO so you cannot see what I am telling you here.
If their superstar stock (pumped as a "once in a generation" opportunity) turns out to be a fraud and they delete their historic rating of it to cover up than they are not a reliable or transparent service.
I noticed auto-renewal payment made today without any pre-alret either for continuation or cancellation of subscription. I sent a message for cancellation request on setting page of Seeking Alpha and got their quick assistance. I was impressed by their customer support for problem solving as this sort of issues are on hold by service provider in general. Thanks SA you mde my day!
Thanks for your wonderful feedback, Katharina!

I made a subscription on 1st October of 2022. I paid 119.50 $. By the end of the year I decided not to continue it.
I canceled my subscription in December 2022, or at least I thought I canceled it!
Today, 28th of September 2023 they charged my Paypal with 239$, without any warning. Scam! I discovered in the account that the subscription was not in fact canceled. I canceled the automatic payments from Paypal and unsubscribed AGAIN, hopefully now for good.
Charged me for the entire year even though I cancelled my membership during the trial period, and they wouldn't give me a refund. Spoke to a $#*!head named Amad, he refused to let me speak to a manager about the issue. The customer service here sucks.
I signed up for a free trial and saw a charge come through for $2399 for the year. I immediately got on the phone and cancelled my service and absolutely was shocked they would do this. I was told it was cancelled and would be refunded which they never did. Unfortunately I got busy and didn't follow up and they got me again the next year...I asked them if they could see that I had not logged in during that time frame and used their services which she said yes she could and I said please look youll see I have never logged in or used your services what so ever.
I have asked for a refund for the two years I never used and they will not do it. I have filed with my credit card, BBB, FTC and will be filing a suit in court if this is not resolved. You are a scam company and people should stay clear of any dealings with them. Truly the worst business I have ever encountered in 50 years!
I subscribed for the first time in early March 2023. Seeking Alpha Pro always keeps me updated on the market outlook, my portfolio, breaking news, what stocks are worth looking at, etc. Also, one gets a detailed analysis of individual stocks from various analysts. It helps a lot to assess each stock. Daily emails. I am very satisfied, and I highly recommend Seeking Alpha Pro.
Thanks for your wonderful feedback, Mahmoud!

I'm not going to allege that contributors to Seeking Alpha are necessarily "pump and dump" operators, but the result in my case is the same. I lost money on every trade and now ignore them. There is an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of their emails, but you need to have a password, which I don't and never have had. So I've instructed Gmail to block them and their messages will go straight to spam.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your note and we apologize for any misunderstanding.
We strive to ensure all our articles are factually correct but we do not keep any biases towards anybody's opinion. Authors are allowed to publish bullish/bearish articles on stocks that are long/short (respectively), providing they disclose their bias. Active investors with "skin in the game" often have some of the most articulate opinions on a stock, and we encourage them to publish their opinions on Seeking Alpha.
If you find a Seeking Alpha article containing a material factual inaccuracy, you can dispute it using the following steps:
Submit a dispute by emailing disputes@seekingalpha.com. Please be sure to include a link to the article under dispute in addition to the above information.
Identify precisely which section of the article you dispute (quoting the text), and provide supporting evidence of your claim that the article is materially wrong.
(Please do not use the dispute process to disagree with the author. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion about a stock; that's what makes a market.)
Furthermore, You can easily unsubscribe from all emails by going to your Email Alerts page: https://seekingalpha.com/account/edit_email_settings
Please be informed that you can easily manage your subscriptions from your Subscription settings page.
In any case, please always feel free to write to us at subscriptions@seekingalpha.com

As an investor with a decent size of my portfolio invested in small cap companies, Seeking Alpha is by far the most helpful and informative on small cap companies. Finding good articles on popular companies is relatively easy, but when I try to find info or data on small cap companies, from my experience most of the articles that I do find online are not as informative. At times it's almost impossible to find any news at all.
With Seeking Alpha I can finally understand what is actually happening with my stocks. As a small time investor this app gives me the information that only financial institutions have!

I really like how it makes data much easier to digest, especially when it comes to valuations. I used to just use Yahoo finance and CNBC. This is A LOT better than either of those for financial information and research. Well worth the money.

Had an inital rate for $50. They renewed one year on Dec 12 for $250.00. After contacting them and the credit card company 12 hours after I saw the renewal, To bad for me. I am stuck with a one year subcription I did not want. Capital One credit card would not help me. I am very diasppointed in Capital One as well as the preditors at Seeking Alpha that took the time to send 60 pages of "proof" to Capital One to make sure they could keep my money. This is a lesson for all credit credit card holders... Don't give your credit card info out to any company where there is automatic renewal. I was a way on a trip and missed the deadline. Don't let this "Gotcha" happen to you. Terribly unfair to the consumer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, Robert.

There is no worse site on the web than Seeking Alpha. Their iOS mobile app is 1000 times worse than the desktop version. They make it virtually impossible to report bugs, as email and pw is required, then you're informed it's incorrect. NOT!
Many decent writers have abandoned the site for greener pastures and though there are still a few articles worth reading, the majority are from uninformed people who don't know much about investing.
The recent iOS update made the already terrible experience almost completely intolerable.
POS-that's all one need say about this.

Stop deceiving people to fulfill your greedy narrative. Short reports by "anonymous authors" is cowardly and are typically loaded with inaccurate information. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Answer: There was only one question in the are of your question: it was do they work in eastern time zone? I'm in the Central time zone and all times reflect my time. Although I didn't see any option to change to Eastern time. If I had to guess, I would think it could set local to members because they got everything else so right.
