Thank you sendacake for helping to put a smile on my daughters face. She's in college and just recently went through a heartbreak. You helped me remind her she has all the love she needs on Valentines Day. Best gift ever!
The kicker is that I paid for premium shipping expecting it to be delivered on time, but that didn't happen. They shipped a perishable cake 2 days ahead. My first order with them arrived just fine in the morning. I was expecting the same schedule for my last order, having paid for premium shipping. My order arrived at the end of the day, at the end of a kid's graduation party and thus didn't serve the purpose for which it was intended. Their "cake" is mediocre at best and absolutely not worth $60.

I ordered a cake from this company to send to my brothers girlfriend and the delivery person left it outside (they live in Florida and it was in the summer). It was melted by the time she realized they have delivered it and none of it was edible. I never received an email or text about the delivery and she didn't either. I put both of ours down but neither of us heard anything and it sat outside for hours. When I reached out to the company they didn't respond. I completely forgot about it and emailed them again a while later to which they responded saying they could offer me a small discount but not a refund because I didn't reach out to them earlier. It wasn't cheap either. A small cake for everything plus shipping was $89.95. For that price it should be delivered correctly, what shipping am I paying for that's $25 and they don't make sure to actually hand it to the person?
So I ordered a cake on 06/04 for my daughter's birthday on 06/09. I picked for it to be delivered on the 8th and it's not being delievered until the 10th. Why is there a delivery date if it can not be delivered on a specific date! Not recommended
I ordered this for my grandfather whom lives 1200 miles away, was recently hospitalized, and then moved to a nursing home; all within span of 2 weeks. His 83rd birthday was on 4/19. The delivery service marked the package as delivered on promised date which was great because this cake was literally the only thing he was going to have on his actual, and likely last, birthday this year. Come to find out, he did not receive. Investigation at the nursing home revealed there were not any packages received that afternoon as reported by the delivery company. I am distraught and disgusted almost beyond words. I only leave this review to warn others. Do not entrust your faith into the gift recipients receiving their packages. If something is marked as delivered, follow up. I purchased route protection and have been approved for a refund. But who cares. The package was much more important.
I had 2 cheesecakes@ $60 each sent to my son for his birthday. I ordered in plenty of time. They let me know they could only manage a date 5 days later. They were sent via FedEx or UPS, to son's address, one hour away from Send a Cake. Total charge to me: $168+. Excessive shipping expense, never related to me in invoice. Showed up on credit card statement today.Make certain all shipping and handling are stated if you buy. I was told the cheesecakes were very good, but cost was excessive and not shared. Live and learn.

Ordered this as a Valentine's Day gift for the family. Box arrived very early so had to open before the actual day. The box was supposed to shoot out a bunch of cars into the air to make it rain. The machine jammed and not 1 card shot out. Then the flowers inside were dollar store very cheap looking flowers. The actual "cake" is extremely small! Smaller than a bagel. Very small and not good. These cake boxes are very expensive we paid $136 for this epic fail. You are better off buying a Bundt cake and making your own!
Tip for consumers:
Company did eventually give a full refund. They originally only offered half. I was adamant this was not acceptable. This company will want proof and I was lucky enough to film the unboxing. Not sure what would have happened if I didn’t film it.
I ordered this for my daughters birthday to be delivered on her birthday. Her birthday has come and gone and no delivery. I sent an email and was told it was unable to be delivered. I call BS on that. She was home all day. She does not live in a gated community. I now look like an awful mother, because I didn't get her anything. Wasted a lot of money for nothing. Never, ever order from this company!

I haven't used anything. I ordered from send a cake. It was never delivered.
My cake was two days late and when my wife opened it, nothing happened, what a piece of sh#t cake. We followed the instructions on how to open it which by the way was already a buzz kill...the mystery of it being a surprise is over once the receiver reads there's a particular way to open the box. Even so when my wife opened it, none of the butterflies got off the ground, they just flopped on the table, it was a total waste of money and a disappointment.
They delivered it through FedEx. It never arrived and they wouldn't give a refund. They said the company Route would help with refund or new order but it just goes into a hole to never be contacted again. Be forewarned. Don't waste your money.
I ordered the Valentine's Day explosion box for my wife. The video, unfortunately, is too large to post. I have attached a screen shot from the video. Needless to say, she opened the box and nothing happened. Butterflies were supposed to explode into the air, but they simply did nothing. Very expensive for nothing.
Never got to order. Their Web page blocked me for suspicious actions. It said to email them and tell them what I did and they will decide if I will be unblocked. Really? All I did was push 'shop'. As far as I'm concern I won't do business with a company that treats people like that. Accusing me of hacking and bad intentions. Their Web site is their downfall, not customers. Block me $#*!*oles.TF

I ordered on Jan 13/2024 prior to my breast cancer surgery for delivery of 01/20/2024 as a birthday surprise for my grand-daughter and still have not received my order and the company keeps blaming FedEx for the delay and refusing to step-up and take responsibility for the delay as the company should, (as they were paid for product and service) terrible customer service all thru emails. I would NEVER recommend this company if you want it to arrive on time. Also they keep saying the cake is ok to eat whenever delivered as it can be left out for over a week after delivery and still fresh. I refuse to get food poisoning.
Tip for consumers:
They blame shipper vs taking ownership as a company

Ordered for a special birthday. Was slated for delivery the day before the birthday. I kept tracking the order and it literally was stuck in Oregon for a week. I attempted to obtain a refund, nearly a week past the delivery date. I was then shown an updated transit alert stating that it was now on the way from Oregon and en route to the destination….a full 10 days past the promised delivery date. I can't wait to see what this cake and box look like. Don't purchase. Cool idea, terrible execution.
This is a money grab. Customer service is non existent. There was a mistake made on my behalf. I placed an order to be delivered 3 weeks out from the date of the order. I needed to make a modification to the order and they would not exchange it and they would not cancel the order.
Tip for consumers:
Triple check your order before purchasing because they do not like to give refunds. And it's not mentioned anywhere on the purchase page. You have to find that out by going to faqs page.
Ordered from Send A Cake for my daughter's birthday. Package to arrive on her birthday--awesome. Birthday came and went with the tracker showing that her package was still going to arrive on her birthday, 6 days later and still no package, still showing arriving by her (past) birthday. Send a Cake gave a 50% refund but it does not matter if the package is not received. Also, purchase Rout insurance but was told that it did not apply. Use another company.,

Since there's no way to give zero stars, Send A Cake gets one. Ordered a cake 12 days prior to my granddaughter's 10th birthday which was on January 24. Still no cake and it won't be delivered until January 29. I asked to cancel the order and was told no because it is in transit. NO ACCEPTABLE!

Cake arrived way past granddaughters birthday.
First, the item never arrived when it was supposed to. I call "Send a Cake" and they tell me to fill out a claim request for the DELIVERY charge refund ($18). I asked for a full refund since I never received the item on my wife's ACTUAL birthday! Well, I'm still going back and forth with them and they just refer me to their "refund policy". Paid $103.92 and will probably not get reimbursed because I don't have the time nor the patience to follow-up with their useless customer service reps. All they keep saying is they are sorry BUT not sorry enough to fix the problem or listen to their paying customers. I'm never using this company again and will be sure to share my experience with everyone who will listen. Next time I will stick with Edible arrangements, they don't disappoint!
I ordered this cake for my daughter's 21 birthday. She received it early and was left out in the rain. The box never exploded and the cake was gross. I called and they basically they said it was to bad. It costed almost 60 dollars and the cake was the size of a peanut butter cup. Very bad customer service and they were totally rude. Never buy from them again recommend definitely going somewhere else.

Ordered cake 2 weeks in advance $70. Even contacted them earlier this week and was told don't worry will be shipped on time. Well today was the birthday…. Got a notice that won't be delivered til Monday! A little girl is quite disappointed.
I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing. I paid extra for overnight delivery & no cake! Now my daughter is out of town and the cake will indeed sit on her front porch and rot for 5 days until she arrives home just to have to throw it away.

My husband got this for me for Valentine's day. It was the stupidest thing ever. The cake was awful. The butterfly's that worked went up and that was it. They didn't fly around the room and are literally just a small rubber band to make them work. Only about 3 worked. I would have much rather had flowers.
Too expensive to be unreliable & to not give refund. 1 child at the same house received her cake surprise on time. The other 2 little girls got theirs 4 days later. How to explain a bad business to 2 crying little girls who have been through recent trauma!
Just use a different business

Ordered 3 cakes. Only 1 was actually delivered as ordered & paid for.
The day before Valentine's Day I was searching for something different to send to my daughter (in college) this year and was surprised to find the Send-A-Cake website. After reading the reviews and researching the products, I decided to place an overnight order. Once the order was processed on my credit card, my inbox was immediately populated with a copy of the transaction and tracking number of the package which led me to believe this was a legitimate company. However, from that moment on nothing happened with the order. I reviewed the tracking number several times into late evening with no response. When I awoke this morning, I checked the tracking of my package, and nothing was showing. I became concerned and called the company. After 30 minutes of holding to get someone from customer service, I was told there was a problem with the order. The Send-a-box customer service rep that goes by the name of John P. Explained to me that FedEx was unable to get all the orders that needed to be sent out overnight and mine didn't make the cut to be shipped. I mentioned that no one had contacted me or sent any notification that would have allowed me to seek other options. Today is Valentine's Day. My daughter's order is dead in the water. I think this company is dead in the water and I will never purchase anything from them again. Very simply, if they can fumble the ball on the most important day of the year then how can I trust that Send-a-Box will deliver in the future. I would highly recommend that you avoid buying anything from Send-a-box. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
