Sephora has a rating of 2.1 stars from 558 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Sephora most frequently mention customer service, gift card, and next day problems. Sephora ranks 705th among Cosmetics sites.
I cant even bring myself to give them one star, but have to so this submits. This company is horrible to its customers and could care less. I waited over a month for an order to arrive. It never did. The tracking kept changing to say in transit, then samples out of stock, then in transit then main product was currently unavailable supposedly while it was supposed to be in transit. Then I called customer service and had complete rude responses that what happened once it left the factory wasn't their issue and so on. I asked them to just cancel the order. They didn't, and eventually 6 weeks later i called my visa company who asked some questions and were happy to reverse the charges. Finally after no follow up from them all this time, email after email, i receive an response from them saying THEY refunded me my $ (when the visa co actually did) and were kindly offering me 500 points for my trouble, so i should order more products. I will never buy from this company again in any form and will make a point of letting everyone know about their terrible customer service. Do not order anything from this company, read other reviews and be buyer aware. Looks like some people never got their money back. I will buy from companies who take pride in their customer service.

Sephora is hands down the best makeup I've tried. I put MAC for Sephora. It's my skin best friend. Get a $100 gift card when you order here http://bit.ly/22X4tTi

Recently decided to use their company to get a birthday gift for my sister. I placed an order on Wednesday early in the morning in order to get a gift card here by Friday. The birthday is over the weekend. I paid the fastest and most expensive shipping option given that my other idea for her birthday failed because, once again, a major online retailer absolutely failed at shipping an item.
Sephora decided it was in their best interest to ship out the item late despite the fact that I paid extra to get it here on time, and now it is going to be late. It's useless if its late and they are unable to get it to me by my guaranteed date. There's no excuse for it and their support isn't helpful at all.
If you're purchasing something as a gift, you cannot rely on them. Their shipping is slow and horrible. I have a feeling I paid extra for the fastest shipping option they were even offering (and would've paid more for next day if that was an option) and they decided to save money and ship it using a cheaper option despite me explicitly paying for the fast option.
Would never recommend them.

I bought a sample perfume box from you in February for my daughter. I SPECIFICALLY ask if I could redeem this in CANADA and you told me yes. Well, I just drove 45 minutes to redeem it, and it is good EVERYWHERE BUT! Thanks for your lack of knowledge about your own products. You might want to retrain your staff.

If I could give a zero, I would. That was a very poor decision discriminating against a conservative Christian (Amanda) just because her views don't align with yours. She is not invoking violence, nor is what she posted a reason to be treated the way you have treated her. It is unacceptable to lie your way through this one just because you're afraid of catering to all AMERICANS. Since when do you get punished in America at your workplace for having views that differ from them? FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND OPINION is what AMERICA was founded on. I have been a VIB since 2010 and I will not be shopping here anymore. I have spent $1000's and I regret it. I have also let all my friends know what has happened to bring awareness and they too will no longer be shopping at Sephora. I hope that your conservative employees boycott you as well!

I had a unpleasant experience at Sephora in the store that is on Serramonte 153 D in San Francisco, a young girl with curly hair attended me and from the beginning she had a terrible attitude with me, she completely ignored me and even went to talk to her co-workers work and left me alone, it is the last time I will go to that place from now on I will buy online. I always went to that place but I will not do it anymore, it is not possible that those types of people are working in customer service and giving a bad service.

What a bunch of COWARDS! Attempting to sue a popular YouTuber who has grown their business by performing highly recommended tutorials and products simply because she is a trump supporter. Will NEVER EVER have anything to do with your products EVER!

Very unhappy with the way they run Tennessee branches. They have a mentally unstable employee thats been stalking harassing&bullying me to the point she made videos threatening me on the store floor. I let them know i did Think it was appropriate for an employee to be on the clock making money while they are stocking my account and making threats towards me and that those videos should be pulled down. They did come down however i let them know the legal measures im having to take for my safty and they gave that info to her. She only got a few days off(prob paid) slap on the wrist and she recently started putting the vids back up. I let them know and rather then fix it they told her and gave her my info which puts me more at risk. They just care about having sales mules, but dont care about the criminals they employee or their customers. Ive used their products for years. Now me, and my friends&family aware of the situation are boycotting them and wont give them another dime. I sure as hell won't give them money to then turn around and pay an employee to threaten my life while on their floor in their uniform under their sign
Tip for consumers:
Watch out for mora in Tennessee.Horrible employee

I made a purchase online of an expensive dry bar hair dryer (it was awful... my hair got stuck and it burned me, but that is besides the point). It had no inner packaging or return label so I popped into a Sephora near me... The return was quick, I was a day past my 30 so the lady said they were gonna issue store credit. Cool I thought... as I always buy stuff online. This was the first time I ever got store credit instead of a refund and it came to my surprise that I could not use the store credit for online purchases?! The kicker is... this was not explained to me... This is the only retail store I have EVER heard of that does not allow you to use store credit online. I usually only shop online because work keeps me busy but I do spend...
Since I made the return two weeks ago... and now the stores aren't opened. I made a compliant by phone. I got "well you can use it in a few months..." Almost $200 in purgatory. What a stupid way to handle the customer experience. We live in an a technologically advanced world with people who have accessibility issues... and now that the stores are closed for an undetermined amount of time... all the more reason to change the archaic method of fund allocation for returns / exchanges.
The lack of transparency by the cashier who "refunded" me is absolutely WRONG. SEPHORA you need to update this policy. It is ridiculous.

Hello I would like to put my view on my day from this Saturday May 27th. Ok so my sister and I both have appointments for full face 1 hour make done. My sister goes first her appointment is at 3 15.they take her at 3 10.they tell me to wait. So 3 30 comes along and no one comes to get me 3 45 still nothing. Now I have a wedding and have to be at the reception hall for 5 30.4 o'clock comes and goes and still nothing. By this point I'm angry 4 15 still nothing now I'm mad but I'm keeping it all in because I don't want to cause a scene. At 4 25 the girl comes to see me telling me she is sorry. I was furious but didn't say anything as well. Now the girl tells me that the one before me had the 90 minute appointment...if her appointment was 90 minutes then she would of gone there at 2 and finished for 3 30 right.why was she taken at 3 and finished at 4 30 to go into my time. Like why take appointments if you can't follow through to serve your customers. If I wanted an appointment at 4 30 I would of made it then. Not only did the girl rush to put my makeup on and I didn't take the whole 1 hour which was really unfair because I paid for it she took 35 minutes and that is truly not fair at all. The store closed while we were in it and we had to go all around the mall to get to the car. And the worst is I got to the reception hall at 6. She did a nice job on my makeup but it sucks that she could of done a better job with my whole hour and not rush. I was really disappointed with the whole wait time. Maybe in the future when you book your appointments you should honor them. I don't know yet if I would come back even though the girl tried her best. If I or anyone books a time then respect it and if someone is late then to bad and that is what you should be doing and then maybe I can decide to come back. Because having 1 hour session and paying for it and getting 30 minutes that is not fair!

This morning I made an appointment to have my makeup done at the Southlake TX Sephora, while waiting for my appointment I started reading the reviews of this location and they were NOT GOOD.
I almost canceled because of them.
When I arrived I was greeted and checked in as soon as I entered the store,, I was a few minutes early so I browsed the store while I waited.
When I was called over by a young man I was a little nervous. Albert started asking me skin questions and about the look I was wanting to achieve the he was off to collect supplies. Not only did he do my make up to suit my age, (50) he did an amazing job telling me exactly what he was applying and why. The finished look was perfect, I was very impressed. Albert is the only person other than the lady who checked me in that I dealt with and he was SPOT ON!

I have been a loyal Sephora customer for decades. The amount of money I spent there yearly far exceeded what I called them about to provide a exchange for me. Speaking with their "customer service team" is like speaking with robots. I went through two supervisors and the main manager Jose who apparently deems himself the top of the pyramid refusing to transfer me to anyone else above him. I bought a $250 product from them that exploded on me, but it was past their return policy. I wasn't asking for a refund but just to replace the product as good faith and they can write it off as a donation to an essential worker. The only thing they were able to do is repeat their return policy of 60 days. The billions that Sephora makes every year will not allow them to "gift" or donate a blow dryer. Its not the first time that I've had issues with them but it will definitely be the last. It's disgusting to see how a company like that can be so stingy during these hard times we are living in. I hope their CEO Christopher de Lapuente is aware how his company is run. I will never buy a single item from them ever again.

I love sephora. They have great products and perks. You can even purchase samples for cheap online before you commit to the full size product. I got 3 perfume samples plus 3 makeup samples for $10.

Like the title says, I love Sephora. But sometimes they can cool it on the excessive email advertising. I get it, you want all the ladies to stay beautiful but that cost money. Happy shopping ladies.

I was a steady, registered customer for past couple of years. Last year I received their annual rewards coupon but this year received nothing, so when I was in Penney's the other day I asked a Sephora associate about this. She told me I had to take it up with Sephora, gave me a phone number which I called later that day. I was told by the rep that reward coupon had expired and that they went out via e-mail. I asked him if his records showed my e-mail address and he said yes and read it off to me... it was correct but It didn't matter, I wasn't eligible because the offer expired. I then asked to speak to a manager and after being put on hold for almost 10 minutes, the rep returned saying that managers were in a "meeting" and that someone would most likely get back to me by the end of day and if not, definitely the next day. Didn't happen and don't expect that it ever will, especially having read complaints by other customers that are dissatisfied with this place. I'm still going to take this up with Penneys but have a feeling they'll do nothing about this either so I'll discontinue doing business with them too. The good news is that the 2 products I bought the most of are available on Amazon which offers free shipping and same price. Don't need you Sephora and I'll make sure friends and family know they have other options.

Great variety and can find what you need. But some products are way overpriced and can be found cheaper in other stores. So do you search for cheaper prices.

This is a review of the store. There are 5 stores in my area and I shop at them all regularly. Once in a while I will encounter an employee with actual knowledge but don't know as much as I do and I'm just a consumer. For example, no one understands the difference between skin undertones and surface tones and they're always steering me towards neutral foundation shades. I have pink surface tones but my undertones are yellow so neutral foundations juat make me look like I'm wearing a mask. Once, a sales associate recommended a cool foundation shade. No, I am not cool-toned.
They're also super weird about returns. Sephore guarantees all their products and it should not matter of the product has been used or not yet certain stores make a big production of inspecting the product I'm returning if I say that it was it was unused. I returned a foundation the cashier not only inspected the pump, she also opened the bottle to look inside. Why would she do that unless the store puts returned products back on the shelves?

I am addicted browsing through all the items on Sephora just like I am at the store. I just wish they had better sales. My favorite brands are never on sale. Buying 4 lipsticks is like $100. LOL

It's the most amazing and useful website for me. I have used it for many times. Highly recommended. I got free samples on and have since purchased because they are so amazing.
