We found a used Porsche for sale on Autotrader.com at S&H Leasing/Motor Sales, in Elkhart IN, applied for credit, was approved, and drove to Elkhart, IN the next day. Along the 4-hour trip, we asked Ryan Martin to make sure the car was in good working order to go back to WI, as its a 4 hour trip. Ryan assured us nothing was wrong with the car and it was good to go. Upon our arrival, we test drove the car and found the a/c was not working, it had a major clunk when steering, the low tire light was on, and upon returning to the dealer from our short test drive, it was dripping antifreeze. Ryan said the a/c worked earlier that day, the steering clunk was because it's an all-wheel drive vehicle, and the coolant was because they topped off the fluids. They discounted the car because of the a/c and we purchased it, and drove back to WI without any issues. The very next day the car started overheating, continued to leak coolant. We took it into a local repair shop where they found the car had been in an accident prior to our purchase and that it needed $4600 of repairs because of the accident damage. It needs a a/c compressor, a/c condenser, right axle, right steering link, radiator cap, and rear tire pressure sensors. At first S&H said to provide them an estimate and they would take care of it. Once we gave them the estimate, now they are not going to fix it. They lied about the vehicle being in an accident, lied about the "safety inspection" they said they did on the vehicle, lied about the a/c (as we're told it looks like it hasn't worked for months), lied about topping off the fluid and lied about the steering clunk. Ryan Martin told us to our face that they don't lie to customers; all the while lying. We felt taken advantage of because we were from out of state. They sold us a vehicle with known issues that they did not disclose these issues to us, rushed us through the buying process, told us they would take care of the issues, and now they refuse to pay or buy the vehicle back from us.
Any help or public awareness you can provide us would be appreciated. These fraudulent used car dealers need to be shut down if they are going to run their business this way! I'm reporting them to anyone and everyone that will listen.
