I ordered two pairs of woman's gloves, king bed sheets, and two infant outfits on 12/12/23 I received a email that it was shipped the same day and I received the order on 1/6/24. Every thing is in perfect condition. Sierra may have had problems in the past, but they must have fixed them.
I have spent more then 20,000 dollars over the years at stp. It was one stop shopping for outdoor gear for my family of 5 (hiking / skiing/ camping / beach) and for all my business attire also. No longer. Terrible selection. Terrible shipping rates. Terrible customer service. Can't see how this place will cont to stay in business when all your best customers are leaving. It's sad to see a family business that had such a loyal following be completely gutted by its new corporate owners.
Used to love STP and then all of a sudden no good sales and no reason to shop there, go back to the way you were, you have lost a customer that has been with you for years and spent thousands, I guess this is another buyout failure.
$10.00 off your first sierratradingpost purchase!
$ 10 off first order over $ 30 on your first order. I am very pleased with the customer service, a wide range of products, ease of ordering and weekly discounts. To receive the discount, follow the link and register on the site. Overall I highly recommend sierratradingpost to everyone!

Sierra Trading Post often has some of the best prices around for the comparison shopper. However if you hesitate, that great deal may disappear quickly.
STP has become my favorite online shopping site. I browsed their "barn burner" deals for years & finally signed up for their email deal flyers last fall. Wow! Can't beat the prices when you buy their deal flyer items. Read the reviews carefully unless you already know the brand, what it looks like, how it fits. I google their more esoteric brands and always find them to be reputable, and even luxury names. I've scored great deals on high quality clothing, shoes, gloves, towels... etc If there is a problem with style or fit, returns are simple, no hassles. STP is a great place to stock up on staples like the cotton T-shirts my husband wears under shirts in the winter or luxurious bath towels at bargain basement prices
The two one-star reviews here sound like they were written by the same person. If you want something shipped to another country, expect customs fees and delays. I've shipped packages from the US to many other countries - for some reason US to Canada is notoriously slow & expensive. That's no reflection on STP. Move to the US or buy your hunting gear in Canada - there, problem solved ;)
Choice and range reduced. Prices not so good and coupon deals pathetic now. Used to bu stuff every few weeks for years. Nothing since May 16. Dont even look now.
I've shopped at Sierra Trading Post for over twenty years. There used to be quite an inventory of hunting and fishing gear. Today, I cancelled my account. The reasons are the return policy, which used to be wonderful. Now thirty days which I did not know about and was left owning a rifle scope that does not work. I cannot get a definite answer from people at STP if they are going to buy anymore hunting inventory. They used to stock Avery, Bushnell, Rocky, Browning, Banded, Filson, and other name brand quality outdoor suppliers. Nothing like that anymore. You can get a few cheap knives, some T-shirts. In their hunting section. But that is about it.
I sent an email voicing my concern and received a prompt and courteous response. It stated that since it was not hunting season their in inventory was low and to wait for the Fall season. Sierra, it is too late when hunting season rolls around to buy. That is when the hunters are hunting not buying.
I've cancelled my account based upon this and two other emails that read like it was scripted. Ambiguous, non-committal, corporate, platitudes.
I've been shopping online with STP since 1999! I used to *love* this place. 90% of my outdoor gear, all my cycling gear, and nearly all my running gear is from STP. They used to be a clearance house for good quality Scandinavian outdoor clothing (Hagloffs, Kelty, the occasional Norrona). Now, it's all junk. All. Of. It. Want some plasticy Underarmour? This is your place!
TJMAXX has run STP into the ground like Kmart. What a drag.
I've been a long-time customer and loved the selection of quality outdoor equipment and clothing. As a VIP member with the Sierra credit card I was able to save on shipping and often could score a 35 to 40% savings from already discounted prices. As a result, I often placed 3 or 4 order every month. Back then, I would have given the company five stars. Now it is just "average." The last 40% discount offer I received via email was sometime last year. The last time I saw the kinds of items I used to drool over in the inventory lineup was sometime last year. The last order I placed was over 4 months ago. Gone are the deep discount specials, and gone is the selection of quality outdoor merchandise. The character of the company has really changed in the past year. It is now more a TJ Maxx online outlet and less the online discounter of quality outdoor gear that I had come to love. Customer service has always been good and I don't believe that has changed. But the selection of merchandise and the pricing has - and not for the better. Goodbye old friend. Can anyone recommend a site for discounted camping, fishing, paddling, bicycling, and running gear that is on par with what Sierratradingpost -used- to be?
I ordered a pair of slippers for shipment via UPS to my elderly house-bound mom who lives in a very rural area of Northern New York State. UPS supposedly couldn't deliver them to her house, though at the time, there was no snow on the ground that would prevent access. Instead, somehow UPS "re-delivered" the package to a US Post Office over an hour away instead of the local PO 1/2 mile from her house where a neighbor could have picked it up. HUH? I called Sierra Trading Post and could not have been more impressed with their service. The CSR I spoke with assured me that the lost slippers would be returned to Sierra at some point and immediately shipped another pair with instructions for UPS to deliver to my mom's home and not to a post office or anywhere else under any circumstances. I thought this was great service and would definitely shop with Sierra Trading Post in the future.
Preparing for our upcoming vacation I hopped online to order some things I knew we needed. We are a family of five and ALL are in need of new summer outdoor clothing, shoes/sandals, hiking and camping gear, etc... I am extremely frustrated with how few options there are. It is truly ridiculous. I am a petite woman and did most of my shopping in the children's section. Which is basically no longer existent. They always had such a wide variety of things for all ages and sizes, now they are cookie cutter. All of a sudden Sierra Trading Post is only offering what I can find elsewhere (REI, Amazon, Cabela's). What's the point of even coming to their website? I used to RAVE about their business and tell everyone who shopped at REI to check them out. No more. Guess I'll have to do all my shopping at Campmor.com now. **And as far as the DealFlyer Coupon. Just take it down. Free shipping after spending $50+ is no incentive to spend. Again, it's what every other company offers. The Dealflyer Coupon was for "insiders" which, from the sounds of it. Don't support you any longer.
I CALLED THE LOCAL STORE TO SEE IF THEY HAD COSTAS AND AS WELL WHAT MODELS WERE IN STOCK. I SPOKE WITH A LADY THAT SAID THEY WERE OVERWORKED BUT WOULD CALL ME BACK. NO RETURN CALL. I USE TO SHOP THERE ALL THE TIME. NO MORE!
Tip for consumers:
I THINK THIS COMPANY HAS GONE WAY DOWN HILL. I use to buy from them all the time in the past.

DID NOT BUY!
My husband and I had been loyal STP shoppers for over 20 years and had purchased most of our clothes and shoes from STP, as well as, many gifts for our family members. We loved the excellent quality name brands (especially those Made in USA or Canada), the good prices, and the fun STP website with all its features. We began to notice a change after the sale to TJX and I called Customer Service to inform them that the noticable decline of coupons and deals were causing us to lose interest. Their response was a sales pitch for "everyday value." Now I know why there are so few MyUpdates in our email. It is because those brands are just not at STP anymore. Those high quality brands don't even come up in a search of the STP website. Sure sorry to lose our favorite shopping place, online or store. STP was the Best! We have unsubscribed.
Looked everywhere for good quality insulated camouflage coveralls. I finally found some but they were all around $100 found some really nice ones here on sale for $49.
Terrible customer service. I received an incomplete order with missing items. I spoke with multiple customer service agents and tThey refused to send me my missing items. I seriously could not believe it. Then I asked around and found tons of other people in my exact same situation! What a scam! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM EVER! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF AND YOU WILL BE LEFT (FEELING) HELPLESS!
Returned merchandise using their label after 20 days. Directions said $6.95 would be deducted from refund for using their label. Held on to paperwork awaited credit card refund. Today received email that my "in-store credit" (for full amount of returned goods) would expire in 10 days if I did not use it! Called them, talked to Gail, who said that i would have had to "write across the front of return form" that i wanted a refund-- when directions clearly had said no such thing. She said she could put the amount on a gift card for me. After arguing with her further, she said she could refund the gift card to my credit card if I gave her my card #. I continued to argue this was not their stated store policy. She said a refund was impossible because they did not keep card #s past 40 days. I stated i wanted to talk to someone "higher up" when she said, "Oh, i put it on the gift card and it automatically refunded to your credit card!" LIAR! I made this online purchase 78 days ago- for that to happen, my card # still had to be in their system. I ONLY got my refund because I persisted and fought with her and would not let go or accept her lame excuses. Disgusting!
STP used to be one of my favorite places to shop online and TJ Maxx ruined it. What a shame. Since the sale of STP, I've noticed the following changes:
- Lowered coupon discounts
- Limited coupon usability
- Raised prices
- Less merchandise from the better outdoor manufacturers
So there you have it, from one of the best to one of the worst. Thanks TJ Maxx you worthless shills.
Buy out out the fork in this business model... not worth the effort to even review the site long time customer of outdoor gear from ST now the offering is junk
When ordering the website said it would take 3-8 days to receive the product, it took over a week to get the product shipped! I was notified a week after I placed the order that the product was shipping, it took almost another week to receive the product. Customer Service was relatively unapologetic. Offered to provide a discount on a future order. Really? How insulting and presumptuous! This was my first time to order, why would I consider ordering from you again if you can't get the first order correct? You NEVER get a second chance to make a good first impression. I encourage you to stay away from Sierra Trading Post and order from a company that 1) has quality inventory management in place, 2) understands what it means to be an online company and 3) has a Customer Service organization that truly wants to ensure Customer service. These guys don't get it. They may be fine if you live near one of their stores and you can walk into a brick and mortar location, but as an online provide they don't have what it takes to compete.
Wonderful - great service and products, incredible return policy, amazing deals. One of the best online and one of my personal favorites. HIghly recommended and a company with integrity.
Yes, I agree. Such a shame, quality, selection, and bargains are no more! I used
To like perusing some of the more unique and high quality items they carried,
But no more. Oh Well!
I called back to make a change and expected them to tell me I would have to return ship and reorder, but they were able to change it immediately! So grateful!
This used to be such a great store with excellent quality clothes at great prices. Now it's a completely different store, with cheap low quality merchandise. Very disappointing.
This company has very good customer service. For example, I ordered a bunch of stuff and then needed to send some back (I ordered several styles and sizes on purpose with the intent to send some back). Then I received an email with a big discount percentage and ordered some more stuff. In the meantime, I received the first order and called to initiate a return and to see if I could apply the return $ to the second order (doing it this way ensures free shipping for the returns and for the new order). Even though it had been a couple of days since I placed the second order, they took care of this for me no problem. I even decided to make an exchange for one of the return items and they made it so I would receive free shipping on this order too even though I also added another (new) item to it. They were very pleasant to deal with and they shipped the orders very quickly. Of course the quality of the items you purchase will depend on the manufacturer, not Sierra Trading Post, but they handle everything excellently. Only one thing I wasn't thrilled about was that they charged sales tax on my purchases.
I bought all my and my kids snow wear stuff here years ago. Quality stuff at amazing prices. Haven't been back since 2014. Bought a pair of defective boots this year and had to pay $2.95 return shipping if I accepted a store credit or $6.95 if I just wanted a outright refund. On the site and the receipt they say "Satisfaction Guaranteed." I wear between a size. The boots were size 8.5 and they were the length of 7s. I wear an 8, but buy boots 8.5 to accommodate big winter socks. My feet were touching the end. That doesn't even happen when I buy size 8s as I only am an 8, because of high arches. The customer chat service was an endless nightmare. Put me on hold several times. Asked me to provide the same info several times. Said she would write a note to returns to credit the shipping, then said, wait, you didn't pay shipping let me resend your purchase order, so that you can see. Wait. Hey. We have been discussing my issue with shipping for return for 15 mins, not that it was shipped to me free. I didn't want to pay RETURN shipping. Oh she said. Call customer service tomorrow. I can't help you with returns. One of the subjects on the chat sign-up is "returns." I am going to use my credit and never shop at Sierra Again. Yes only $2.95 or $6.95, but to pay to return a defective product, not right.
20+ year customer who referred so many people to STP. Sadly, the merchandise is now of poor quality, unknown brands, fewer items, and no deals.
