It is absolutely illegal to charge taxes on a gift card. Taxes are charged when you buy something with the gift card and so you're charging and collecting the taxes twice. Of course Skip is just stealing, they aren't actually giving those taxes to the government.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I've had food stolen from me, chefs deliver food to me because drivers are too lazy, and had drivers sit for up to 2 hours in the same spot not moving. During that specific time I ordered 2 McDonald's burgers. Would have rather walked to and from McDonald's faster instead of dealing with this annoying and wasteful service. Drivers are careless and unqualified for the job and Skip really don't care.

The last guy left my food on the GROUND! Outside my apartment door where everyone steps with their DIRTY SHOES! And took off. WHAT A SAD LAZY PERSON. "RAY" I have had a fairly great experience with most people actually following the delivery instructions other than the mentioned ones. Another one was on my sisters birthday the guy "claimed to deliver our food" over 100 dollars. Turns out it was his last shift and he took off with our food... useless drivers. Most have been so fantastic to us of course there is always the very few useless people in this world who can't do their jobs...

If you don't get your order then that's your fault because SkipTheDishes thinks we're responsible for the delivery, they won't deliver the food to your house and then when you ask for help they won't give you a refund too

Terrible service
October 26, 2021

I ordered 3 times and there was a problem for 2 of the orders. First time I had to wait for 1 hour and still no delivery. I called the restaurant and they said. We don't work with skipthedishes anymore... We ask them to remove us from their website but they don't.
2nd problem: after 1 hour the food was supposed to be delivered but no food at the door.
I contacted the customer service. They said they are goind to refund. After 2 weeks still no refund. I contacted them via email but no answer.
I contacted them via the app and they said it's refund see with your bank. I never had this issue with any other company. I looked at their facebook page and many people didn't get any refund.

That the worst company in terms of service and they lie to their customers...

Our order got delivered to my boyfriends last known address even though that wasn't the address on the account, nor were we there when we placed the order. Skip the dishes claims that we entered the wrong address even though there's only 1 saved address on his account. He was on chat for over an hour and it ended with "we can't help you" and they ended the chat.

I used skip the dishes last week and my burger came but they literally gave me no notice. Couldn't see when it was on its way, didn't know how long it would take etc. Made the mistake of ordering from them again today. The app said "confirming order" for over 45 mins and and i messaged customer support numerous times and they were no help. I was confused because i got a order confirmation email and yet the app said my order was still loading and wasn't confirmed yet. Customer support told me my order was pending. I was like wtf does that mean. Not even 2 mins later my order was cancelled. This whole thing was an hour process that resulted in my order being cancelled and left me starving. Reordered on ubereats because at least their reliable. Gonna be eating my breakfast at noon now….

Disappointed
February 2, 2023

I have been using SKIP over the last couple of years with minor concerns that in my mind are part of delivery ie food not enough. However I just ordered a chicken and rib dinner from Swiss Chalet and only received COLD ribs, no chicken. Neither SKIP or Swiss Chalet offered any form of compensation. Given neither would provide even an apology I would be wary of both these businesses.

Garbage and fraud
November 9, 2023

I ordered food paid for it and it was never delivered. I contacted them and asked for a supervisor and got no reply. They took my money and gave me nothing. I am diabetic and need to eat and got no help. Garbage service. Thieves. I will never use them again. And I tipped the driver lmao

I'm a delivery driver I still working because I'm laid off for this pandemic. When you get the order when you reach to restaurant customer cancelled the order but they pay $3.10. You drove more than 15km to reach restaurant but they only reimbursed you $3.10 that never take care there staff. That don't pay anything I will quit when I get the job. They are licking because of this pandemic

So, ordered food from them, the tracker showed me that the food had been delivered. It hadn't. So, I tried to get in touch with them. There is no contact number as you know, so I was on the chat with a bot for approximately 20 minutes. Was then told that the driver had dropped the food on the front porch. He hadn't; there was nothing at my front door. So I told them, and asked for a refund. Next day, my neighbour comes knocking at my door, they had left the food at his doorstep, without ringing his door bell or even knocking on the door. So, he was unaware of the food, but the raccoons noticed and had a merry little party at his expense. Which I then had to clean up. I asked for Skip's management to contact me. Got a call from a really unprofessional lady (honestly the bot did a better job). And was told that the drivers are contractors so whatever they do is not Skip's responsibility. Yeah, use uber eats instead. At least they're polite.

Dishonest

I working for skip for a while a year full time, first the don't pay for the delay the food, there is in food delay section in every trip details but doesn't matter how long you wait for your food 15 minutes or more always show's $0. And I am very sure they do charge the restaurant but it goes in the company packets.
And More than 3 times happened to me the customer change the drop of location, last time I drove 6k extra for changing location, I spoke to the customer service before I drive to the new location, the customer service telling me will pay you for extra, and I never get paid, when I claim next day I see no shifts available and it stay fir for few days no shifts.
I drove in the above trip 13k plus 6k for the new location total 19 k, skip paid only $10.40, and never paid for the extra k.
It is really dishonest company.

THIEVES AND SCAMMERS

I made an order, set for my home address. The company sent it to my work address and said its my responsibility when I tried to bring it up with them. I drove 40 minutes out of my way to my work, to be greeted with nothing. Got back home and tried to contact support, just to be told no one was online and if I left my name and email someone would get back to me. No one did and when I tried to talk to support again just to be told I had to bring it up with support within 24-48 hours, or they would do nothing. I was waiting for support to get back to me in that time, so I don't see how they think that is appropriate. I then asked for the company to deactivate my account just to have 2 customer reps end the chat on my without deactivating my account. Finally got the third one to do what I was asking of them.

Ordered food from a close fast food spot at 12 with a estimated delivery of 12:35 at 1:15 it was not at my door and I tried to contact support the app reset my ticket 3 times. I got an email at 2am that my delivery was late and to track it, i had since there was 0 contact from them by that time made food cause i was actually hungry and they refused to do a refund cause i received order.

This company are a bunch of theives

I ordered breakfast for my bed ridden mother and kids while at work. The courier dropped of the drinks and syrup, that's it, no food. I got on with STD customer service and they messaged me that they could not reimburse me because I made too many complaints and been reimbursed too many times so they can not reimburse me now. I wanted the courier to take the missing items back to the house, they couldn't do that either. So they could take my money and not fulfill their service by delivering my order and take my money in the process. They basically stole my money. I called *******547 and got the same spiel for the guy I spoke to, he says he will get someone to call me, which I know that is a lie.
So, basically if you order with STD and they take your money and do not bring your food you should not send in a complain just give them your money. They are thieves and I will escalate this with the BBB.

UNACCEPTABLE
June 10, 2023

This is very bad service. This app customer service is execrable. They do not update the app so I made a whole order for my family that I can't receive. I call the restaurant only to find out they couldn't confirm my order since they had nothing left and the had notified skip app an hour prior that they were out of stock. It was late so most of the restaurants I knew were closed so I couldn't even order elsewhere. The agent was arrogant and rude and took so long to finally get back to me ( his name was Swaranjeet Sidhu) and the manager was the same, arrogant and unbothered. And to compensate me, they only gave me a refund and 5$ credit. I spend hundreds of dollars on this app every month and all they could do is 5$. Obviously I needed a refund, I didn't get any food! Worst app for customers! Better use Uber eat or door dash or something because this app is completely unreliable. They obviously don't value our time or service.

Very poor service
May 26, 2020

A driver with very very loud music in his car, couldn't hear a word from what he was saying, left the food on top of the AC compressor, knocked very hard on the door Which turned the door security alarm on, checking the order, found missing items which was very inconvenient as we were fasting and this was supposed to be our break-fast, contacted the customer service which was also really really rude, never again with skipthedishes

Worst Delivery Company

First I need to apologize to the people who I honestly did not believe about there reviews for Skip the Dishes. Not once but twice i had my orders messed up. The first time I thought OK mistakes are made. Let it ride. But the second time was the icing on the cake. I phoned to the restaurant we ordered from soon as we said we were calling because the driver had forgotten something. They said right away the 4 drinks from your order. I replied yes. They had said they told the driver twice the drinks were with the order. He left before they realized he didnt take them. The restaurant manager told me to get a hold of Skip the Dishes and tell them to send the driver back for the drinks. They of course refused said they would refund the cost of the drinks. Would we like it in Skip the Dishes rewards or back on your card. I immediately said back on card and will find new Delivery Service. Do not recommend Skip the Dishes.to anyone

Biggest scam ever
April 3, 2022

The upcharge the menu items, the charge a service fee for ordering from them then the delivery fee then the tip and then when you spend $27.00 on a waffle breakfast that the restaurant would have delivered for $22.00 before skip the dishes they deliver it to the wrong address. Every Sunday. I then am offered a skip credit refund of exactly $27.00 for repeated bad customer service. Seriously this company is the biggest scam ever and after making all of that money they can't even offer a complimentary couple bucks for a coffee for the inconvenience.
