Fine print
September 8, 2021

Read the fine print - they say you have a 100 night trial - if you are unhappy with the bed you can return it - but that isn't true - you are unable to return the base - the whole bed is cheap and is not worth 6500. 00 to 7000. 00 - the salesperson lied and customer service sucks as well - don't BUY you will regret it - read the fine print!

We bot their bed and most popular, i8, mattress. Both were defective. The bed was delivered with a broken leg and rocked back and forth like a flop house bed. The mattress has no insulation in it and you cannot sleep properly while loosing body heat. It requires a foam cover. We could not get the company to do anything about the defective bed so we returned both it and the mattress. All of the company representatives: Store salesmen, home office personnel, delivery persons, technicians; all lie and make promises they never keep. Customer service is zero with this Co. We also were told a set of sheet came with our bed and mattress purchase so we had to pick a set out. I found a billing of $115 for these sheets on the invoice. I have never heard of such sales practices. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable furniture store with a proper guarantee and customer service.

Customer representatives are terrible in this company and the store sells associates are not honest with customers. We bought a pillow online and it want comfortable so I brought back to the store. The guys told me I could exchange it to a different one and then he told me i can only exchange it once without telling me if I do that, I woouldnt be able to return it. However, the pillow again is so uncomfortable and I called customer service and tried to return it. All they said was you did exchange already. It's only return or exchange once. That's not what is told in store. The manager did not even want to work with me when I asked if I could speak with the manager. Horrible customer service and greedy company.

Bad bed one side
October 6, 2022

I misunderstood the fine print about the warranty. I called told them one side of the bed is sinking completely they tried to talk me through fixing the bed and it didn't work. I asked for a tech to come out to help (since it's supposed to be a long warranty) they told me they'll charge me 150-200$ for them to come out. My bed is just about a year old. No mattress has these issues. One side sinks COMPLETELY the other side hard as a rocks. And I have to pay more money after what $4000 after a year?!

Let's say you have a remote that won't adjust the "hardness" of your sleep number bed (only reason for buying one, of course). You somehow unpaired the remote with the bed, now you are taking the bed apart to find the "pairing" button, which somehow still won't pair with the remote no matter how close, or how far, away it is. So, you try to use your phone and the app. The phone, being very sophisticated, easily finds the bed, but the app reports that "your bed is not set up" and doesn't give you any option to set it up. You have to log in, but can't log in...at all. No forgot password option that works. Nothing. So, you try to fill out the form on the app with your order number, conveniently sitting in your email, along with your email address: and you get "email and order number doesn't match." You decide to play it cool and go online for a live chat and they slow walk you through the motions of "what is your order number" and "what is your email address" and "what happens when you log in" etc. Then they tell you "oh, you haven't used this in 5 months, you have to call back later then the phone center is open." Uh, yeah, it is the middle of the night and I did actually want to sleep, but I guess everyone at Sleep Number is asleep, presumably on beds that work. It's like if my great-grandfather was put in charge of IT at a company and had to think through what that entailed for a so-called "smart bed." Save your ~$2k and find something low-tech or is worth your time and frustration.

This bed costs too much for the problems it causes. Contacted customer service who told me to troubleshoot the bed. I told her that I already did the troubleshoot. Instead of listening she responded basically calling me a liar and put stupid things in the chat like "lol" when I was asking questions about the bed.

Like the bed but their customer service is practically non- existent! Will never buy another. Oh, and if you purchase an adjustable bed frame - they do not make them and will not give you your money back if you are not happy!

I had to hire a professional to assemble it, and sleep number chat was NO help. And then they would not pay for the assembly and wanted me to take apart the mattress and return it. The mattress was better than my former memory foam mattress, but NOT much. It definitely was NOT worth the $600+ the $100 assembly. Even if i end up getting a refund, i am STILL out the $100+ for the assembly. I am glad that i saved the memory foam mattress.

We purchased a sleep number bed on June 1,2023. It was not delivered until 6/26 (which we knew). When they delivered it, the delivery guys damaged our brand new $2000 dresser. The gentleman was so kind and apologized and gave us instructions on contacting Sleep Number to file a claim. We since have contacted Sleep Number multiple times and not once have had a call or email returned. The customer service reps pass on the information for the "Damage Claims" department and it's up to them to contact us. Very frustrating when you buy a $6000 mattress, and they apparently have no reps working in that department. SHAME on SLEEP NUMBER. DO BETTER!

I manage a tech support team of engineers and would never ever allows my employees to treat customers the way sleep number treats me! They sold me thousands of dollars for feet warmers that they disabled (CYB) due to a recall. Never once tried to make it right. Tried to charge me hundreds of dollars despite the recall. They all treat you like you don't matter. Seriously the worst customer service ever I could go on and on.

We like our sleep number bed but the accompanying SleepIQ app/software is awful. It is very buggy and leaves us extremely frustrated when we want to go to bed at least twice per week. The bed goes up when I press down. Or it gets stuck in the up position forcing a system reboot to get the mattress back into its default position. Our plug is behind the dresser which causes me to move furniture at 11pm at night. Very frustrating. We reported it to Sleep Number and they suggested to plug directly into an outlet instead of a surge protector but that didn't fix the problem.

$1,000 for a deflated bed
September 3, 2019

I paid $1,000 for a bed that I have had for 3 years. When I bought this bed I was told I had a 25 year warranty. And what I was not told was this bed is literally an air mattress with a little foam on top. The bed worked fine until one day one side of the bed is totally deflated with normal use of the bed. It's a defect in the bed, a small leak somewhere that causes the bed to be deflated within a few hours of filling it up. Contacted customer service and they wanted me to pay $138.12 for the replacement part of their defective product. Bogus! Especially since there is supposed to be a 25 year warranty. Not to mention that anyone higher up in the company will not give you the time of day... literally they refused to speak with me because they are too important. Save your money, this company is garbage.

We have a 4 yrs old split king 360 bed (which means we have 2 extra long twin beds on a adjustable frame). Recently the side wall of one of the beds began to bulge. When I contacted the company they determined that the foam was had broken down due to use. When we received the replacement foam insert, we discovered that the foam wall was hot glued to the mattress topper. When I filed a better business complaint, this was the answer I got. According to our records the Ms. ****'s foam was replaced due to use. The side wall foam had compressed. Loss of firmness and height is an expected result of normal use of the bed.
This is an engineering defect- not a part of normal use. When the user sits on the side of the bed, the downward pressure will cause the stress on the seam and pull away from the topper- causing the foam wall to bulge outward. DONT BUY THIS BED

Sleep number nightmare
September 24, 2022

I got this product 3 nights ago. Could. Not. Get. Comfortable. I tried resetting to find a better number. I tried the number they recommended in the store. I didn't sleep at all the first 2 nights. By the 3rd night I was dreading that bed. I took a sleeping pill and chased it with Liquor, and hallelujah, I finally slept for 8 glorious hours, except when I got up I could barely walk from my lower back pain. I went back to the store to return this monstrosity and was told I have to wait until Monday to call the customer care hot line. I cannot believe the nerve of this company. Was also told they will want me to keep it for 30 nights before returning as I need to "get used to it" No. I don't need to get used to it. I need a mattress that works for me. I would literally rather sleep on a sleeping bag on the floor than this product.

We received our bed about 30 days ago and I have initiated a return. The bed is uncomfortable and doesn't have support on the side. If you sit on the side, you will slide down which is what happened one night when I got up to use the bathroom. I slipped out of the bed. When purchasing, I was told that the bed has a 15 year warranty only to find out later that it is a limited warranty. When shopping for the base, I was told the only difference was the foot warmer and massage function, so we opted for the less expensive base. The remote is attached to the base in the middle of the bed making it difficult to reach when you are in bed. Also, I found out after purchasing that the base is not returnable. You will be stuck with the base. I'm thankful that I can return the bed but very unhappy about the base situation.

Then called to reschedule again to late January. I will have waited 4 months for this bed. I ordered 4 mattress from Sleep Number and I have to return because of the horrible delivery and customer services. The delivery suppose to contact me 30 min prior but called me when they arrive. I told them I will be there in 10min, but they just left when I arrive there within 5 min but they left already. I call their customer service and they refuse to return only few min away. I feel like if I have all these trouble for a simple delivery, I would experience even more issue in the future if there is issue with my mattresses. So I cancelled my entire order. I hope this help if people is considering Sleep Number Mattress.

Sleep Number is a Deceptive Company
August 2, 2023

Sleep Number corporation has deceptive sales policies. First, every employee shares their sleep number, but not all employees actually own a bed. Second, the sales person said the base would fit within my bed frame. It did not. Third, they tell you that you can return the mattress, sheets, pillows, etc. However, they don't tell you that they will not refund the base of the bed. The base cost me $1600 and they refused to reimburse me. Fourth, the customer service phone number will take your complaint but they do not follow up with you. Finally, the product itself gave faulty HRV readings. Terrible product. Worse customer service. Complete ripoff

First let me explain their lies:
Its a 60 day return policy AFTER 30 days. You cant return prior.
IF they sell you a broken bed, you have to PAY THEM 200 dollars to take it back.
If you attempt a return they will talk your ear off day and night trying to get you to recant and they offer 'services' to try to get you past your 90 days with trials.
Worst company, worst product.
The reviews contained on this website are the correct ones, NOT sleepnumbers.

My bed is less than 2 years old. It doesn't hold air. Not helpful to repair and not under warranty. Still have 2 years to pay for it. Don't buy a bed that you have to pay to repair every 2 years. There is nothing more disappointing. Don't make my mistake.
