In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
I have had Sling TV for a month and a half. I had to call costumer service about twelve times. Certain channels disappear, so you are paying for channels that you are not receiving. Half the time the channels buffer to the point you have to turn it off. Then when you call customer service, the blame is placed on your internet. Even though my computer, cell phones are hooked to my internet. I can watch netflex and amazon on my TV's. Sling has the worst customer service I have ever seen. N o call backs or e-mails to follow up with a no problem or for any call you have placed to them about an issue. I do not recommend Sling TV at all.
After a years of being a customer I have seen constant buffering, errors, and all out fails. I understand it is what you pay for. It works great when it works. I do not recommend Sling for Sports it always cuts out or starts buffering in the middle of a game. I do not recommend airTV unless you get it on an Antenna already installed with great reception. AirTV does not get you better reception and it does not fix any problems if you have them. I am in a difficult area for reception and only get the reception I already had. The Sling guide for ESPN is always out of wack and miss-labled but I'm Sure that is on ESPN.
I do recommend an express Roku player with the sling app if you travel. Worked great while staying at places on family vacations for those couple of hours before sleep and while waiting for places to open. Also on your phone at the airport.
Sling.com just charged me $24.99 for a month of service. I was out of town last week and no one was home. They claim someone in my household signed up. Really? The charge was on the 18th and i just happened to notice it on my credit card bill. It is now the 27th and i called to tell them there was a mistake. They said they were sorry but they could not refund the money. I had signed up months ago for their free trial and ended it within a day because i knew it wasn't what i wanted. Now months later they start charging my card. The fact that they have horrible reviews speaks volumes. What a totally crooked company.
Sling will always cut you off before seeing the final moments of a sporting event, I don;t know how they know when it is going to happen, but every time there is a pivitol moment in a sporting event. Thier service seems to experience a disruption and you will nevedr know the outcome unless you google the results! Sucks, I would not recomend this platform,avoid at all costs.
They advertise on their site, that with the upgraded Sports Package, that as a subscriber, you can watch 4 sports games, at the same time (different devices) on the Blue and Orange package. What I found out, after subscribing, is that you can only watch one Orange channel and 3 Blue channels, at the same time. I called Sling and challenged their false advertising, and was told "too bad!" So, I cancelled my subscription within 48 hours of payment, requested a prorated refund, and once again was told "too bad, no refund!" Don't go with SlingTV!
One day I got an email from Sling saying something like "Thanks for renting the GGG vs. Canelo Alvarez fight". And in it was the amount of $85.18. I knew nothing of this fight and verified my husband did not rent this upcoming event. Immediately I pulled up my credit card statement and they had charged my card the $85.18 already at the same time they sent me the email. Well of course I thought this was just a mistake and call them to get it corrected and a refund to my card. Long story short, after talking to 2 supervisors, It was clear I was not going to get a refund (Even though the tv event had not even happened yet). I could see if it were a mistake on my or my husbands side and we accidentally rented this show, but they sent us the exact time it was rented and we both can verify we did not rent this- not even by accident. They can not be trusted with your credit card numbers becasue they will charge random things to your card- I cancelled Sling right away and will never go back!
I canceled my subscription with sling. After the 3rd email requesting cancelation and to refund my money finally they cancel but say they do not give any refunds. I spoke with Kelly a supervisor. I know I can not be the only one having this issue with their no refund policy and their continuous billing practice after their has been a clear request for denial of services. We need a class action lawsuit against this company for their taking of funds from their customers to stop this. A request for attorneys fees and hopefully enough people to stop a company from swindling funds and taking advantage of customers. If anyone is checking in to along TV. The app is not great and their continuous charging is not worth the risk. Do not give them your card info. Definitely choose Hulu or some other app that doesn't ignore a request to cancel and keeps taking funds from your bank.
Signed up for a 14-day free preview. Got billed $30 and they wouldn't refund it, when after 2 days, I decided it wasn't for me as it they want nearly twice as much to include local channels - and that wasn't all local channels, just 2. I signed up using my TV to do so, and was told if you do that, no free preview. I should have gone to the website. None of that was mentioned at any point. Only reason it got 2 stars is because it was pretty easy to sign up and to reach an agent via chat. Not that the agent was of any use.
I have a brain. I hate Sling TV. Don't bother to subscribe because it sucks! The only reason I subscribed to Sling TV was to watch basketball games. Just when my team played in televised playoff games, Sling crapped out! I got day after day of error messages and NO ACCESS. They let me down. They definitely don't deserve my money. Their customer service is NONEXISTANT! They can do business with uncommunicable millennials, I guess. I'm done.
They charged me five days before my month was up. :( Now when I want to cancel I won't get one penny back for their excrement, when I don't want it.
Canceled their service and discovered that they continued to charge my credit card. My credit card company had to block them from my card. They have outsourced their customer support to Manila, Philippines and the staff is powerless to take any corrective actions.
I switched from Cable to Sling and had some quality issues like buffering, freezing, and random replay of material I had just seen. This was annoying enough, but then came the first day of college football. The service was so bad I couldn't even watch the main game I wanted to watch. I called customer service and after being on hold 30 minutes I was finally connected to an agent who told me that I could cancel, but I would have to pay for another month of service as per my contract. I asked them why I would have to continue to pay for a service that DOESN'T WORK? I don't want the headache of having to switch to another service; I'd gladly keep them if I got what I was paying for. No matter. They're gonna get their extra month out of me, so while I'm paying for their crap, I feel compelled to share my experience and hopefully prevent this annoyance for someone else. Fyi - have switched to Playstation Vue and it's been a huge improvement.
Have been basically happy with my Sling Service for 5+ years. Apparently I must of been one of a handful of customers that was pleased with them. The small glitches and minor annoyances were tolerable as I usually attributed the issues to the FORMER horrible internet provider.
Tried to remove an add-on yesterday before my billing cycle went in to effect. After multiple attempts to remove it, the manage add-on's option did not delete it. I tried again multiple times again before I was to be charged again, to no avail.
Of course there was no customer servcie #contact and was forced to address the issue through Chat. They basically told me that there were no attempts to change it and I was out of luck. Chat did manage to send a Customer Service # that ended up being even worse. They were rude and obviously could not have cared less about the situatuion. It was a softball issue - delete and issue a credit or refund. Happy customer.
Looks like I will be a former Unhappy customer; I can understand the 1.19 rating now.

Worst company ever! Download the app to watch the fight and wasn't able to watch the fight because there app was acting stupid and then they go an charge me $108 and say they can't do anything about it!
Can't comfortably watch anything without it stopping this is the second time I had sling and for the same reasons I canceled I wish I would've remembered that before adding it again I'm counseling my subscription for next month
I signed up for the three days trial and cancelled right after the three days trial ended. I was going to keep it but the my current cable service would not let me off until September.
Sling charged me a whole month because I did not cancelled to the last second before the three days trial ended.
So since I started the trial at 2:30:45 am on the 16th of June, I should have cancelled on the 19th at 2:30:44 am, or before that time.
They will charge you a whole month if you missed the deadline by a second and the manger on duty was one of the worst.
I was going to come back in September 2021, after my cable service expired, but they have shown me that they do not care about keeping the customer. The manager indicated to me by his conversation that he was not care about me coming back. Sling is one of the worst to me.

Unless you have a Fiber internet for free or some always high-speed internet that is free you will HATE any online tv company.
THAT is the BIG scam about this one and all the rest.
I have high-speed for 3 days and then drops back to dialup speed for the rest of the month and that is on Hughes satellite which you would think would be FAST every day and a fair price... but it isn't so why would you want to waste time with Sling or any other online tv?
Bad enough trying to watch one short music video on Youtube let alone tv programs.

I noticed I was chgd for service after cancelling the free trial. I got on the chat and chatted with a young man. Very helpful and nice. He looked up my acct apologized and my refund was bk on my card within 10min. Never had problems may be just different reps.
Realized within the first day that Sling TV is a scam from hell. I have excellent internet connection, and yet, Sling TV still won't play for longer than a few seconds without booting. A common error is "21-51, we're sorry! LOOKS LIKE WE'RE HAVING TROUBLE LOADING... Someone needs to hold them accountable. They also won't refund you because they hide behind the subscription clause bull$#*!. Trust me, stay far far far away from Sling TV. You will be so disappointed if you don't.

Poor channel choices! Not everybody who watches TV I like to watch news enjoy CNN. There is no other type of news but fake news you can't watch any other type of new stations just CNN fake news so this is why I dropped my subscription to sling TV. Also very slow going to channel to channel and dropping stations as you watch TV. I would not recommend sling TV.
YouTube TV is Way better than Sling. Very easy to bypass commercials with YT in 15 second intervals.
Sling jacks up the volume on your TV during EVERY commercial...very annoying. No local channels with Sling, you get your local channels with YouTube TV. I've used both these services and I HATE Sling and recently cancelled my subscription. Spend the extra $10/month for YouTube TV, it's well worth it
Sling provides a lot of cheap offers for anyone to get started. But their website/softwares are often buggy and not at all user friendly esp. When it comes to cancelling the service its pathetic. Most often the cancellation will not go through or there will be some other means where by Sling.com makes it impossible to figure out how to cancel the service. And somehow even if you manage to cancel their service then there is no assurance that they will stop billing you. You need to keep checking your credit card statements to make sure you are not billed. The customer support reps and supervisors are trained to flatly deny your request for a refund in such cases and are not willing to take any accountability for such billing issues or show any transparency towards the customers. Information is all over the place or at multiple places even for things like "terms-of-use" - where some links work whereas others do not. And its customer's responsibility to figure this out at their own peril. Worst part is they do not allow you to remove your credit card information at any time (even if you want and also given that its a prepaid service - meaning you pay first and then watch). This to me is fraud and speaks about undesirable business practices by the company in this day and age. Would totally recommend to avoid this service (unless you love all the above listed hassles).

I have had sling for 4 years and although I do not watch it I continued to allow them to bill me. I have finally decided that I will not continue to pay $40.00 for a service that i do not want or use, so I have decided to cancel my subscription. It have been 2 months and I am still being charged. I continuously try to cancel and yet it doesn't allow me to although the first time I did it they said that it was canceled but did not send a cancellation email. So I continue to try again with no avail, online I try with this chat and this is just a way to stop you from canceling because it does not help. You can never talk to a real person and yet they continue to take my money. At this point I will call it stealing. Please be careful and do your research before getting into this company. And please cancel my subscription!

They wouldn't return my money even though the account was canceled and then the dont have a dispute dept i asked to speak with the billing dept they told me. I could not that my bank could only speak with that dept. I asked for the relations dept they they didn't have one. They are full of $#*! don't even bother with them. I've never heard of a company not refunding money if you cancel and don't want the service.
I purchased a Sling gift card from Amazon and tried to redeem it, but the Sling system said the card was redeemed. I reached out to Amazon and Sling and no one refunded my money. I waited a month and purchased another gift card for Sling from Amazon and there was no place for me to even type in to redeem the gift card. I was on hold for 30 plus minutes for Sling to tell me that I could not watch until the next day due to cyber technicalities. My son was in the division 2 NAIA championship and I could not even watch him. Sling's service is horrible.
