In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
We cancelled sling TV, received an email notification our service was cancelled. Two charges came through our account one for a full month of service, one for less than $1. I contacted them, was on the phone more than an hour. Was advised they had no record of my service being cancelled. They asked us to forward our cancellation email to them, right before we did they ask that a screen shot be taken so they know it's not tampered with. In forwarding them this information to *******@sling.com our original email legitimately disappeared. Thank God we had the screen shot because it came back as *******@sling.com was no longer in service. They than asked we email *******@sling.com. They supposedly filled out the paperwork but honestly my gut is telling me to cancel our card and fill out fraud paperwork with our bank. Red flags are going off all over esp because they couldn't advise what the charge less than $1 was for and stated the issues a refund for a different amount when they realized the error, never recieved any credits and honestly why should I pay a fee if it was your error.
I work in banking so maybe that makes me more suspicious than most but I feel uneasy.
So bad. Price is always increasing and the quality of service is horrendous. Every day for every program there is a delay or some other issue. I cancelled service and never looked back. The worst.
They are selling a service that they can't provide. I subscribe to watch the games in Portuguese but I was not able to do it. I called several time... Terrible customer service.
I really wish I had done some research on Sling TV before I signed up. The customer service rep who took my call mislead me about the channels and package I bought ($28 per month). Only one live local FOX station with its lame programming, etc. NatGeo, Animal Planet, and the other nature channels rarely had new shows and only past episode reruns. When I decided to cancel they still billed me for another month. They claimed that I had "reactivated" my service when I did not. For the money its really not worth it, unless you aren't that picky about what you watch. I do not feel their customer service staff are honest people and willing to lie to keep your money. I'm a service disabled Marine veteran on limited income and had to file a claim with my bank to get the unauthorized debit of my account reversed. Out of all the channels for my package, there were only a few that had any shows that liked to watch, and even then most were reruns and no new shows where posted to watch. Basically a big rip off and not worth the money & hassles.
I canceled my service back in January I have now been charged for 2 more months for a product I'm not using I contacted them today and they told me I never canceled and that they don't do refunds so I won't be charged next month what bull $#*!
I signed up for Slingtv to watch a football game, but my smart tv and Sling didn't get along. I thought I had cancelled my subscription, but found 3 months later that was not the case. I have called customer service, which pointed me into the direction of billing. Here's the funny thing. BILLING DOES NOT HAVE A PHONE! They do not contact you fro 3-4 business days. When they do respond, they send you a damn survey and asked if they answered your question, every single damn time. Not only did I not get my refund, they ask me to follow them on social media! Worst customer services ever! Who the hell would follow a company after no resolving an issue. They hide behind damn emails. I understand its a business, but damn I am down $300 because i thought I cancelled. NOT ONCE WAS I EVER CONTACTED WARNING ME I WOULD BE CHARGED! It's slezzy business!
The comparison between this app and youtube tv is night and day. They don't give free trial and when asked for a refund--they refused. Don't use this service!
Constantly goes down. Seems to happen on holidays. Customer service is useless. Extremely rude. Asked about a credit on my bill, said there is not a memo on a credit and hung up on me. Unbelievable.

Never got a single thing to load. What a waste of $25.00. Not one thing has loaded. But update update update. Doesn't do any good. Useless doesn't work scam.

As.of 1Mar Sling increased price without choice by adding ABC. I'm thinking, OK. However, poor reception since ABC flashes on/off every few sec. Its unwatchable. No HELP from Sling.
The commercials are absolutely ridiculous! 5-7 minutes a piece at times, when I can watch FreeVee for FREE with little to no commercials and just as many shows.
I think it offers a lot, for the price. It has good content, lots of on-demand options and the 50 hours of free recording are fine for me. But I have lots of loading issues. And I recorded a preseason game, that kept replaying on NFL Network but, when I tried to watch the recording, it was supposedly blacked out in my area. And I was watching a show that I had recorded and, right in the middle of an interview, the screen went black, with no sound. When I fast forwarded it, I could see the interview in the small screen. 20 minutes of the 60 minute show were like that! And the fact that you can't fast forward through commercials, when you're behind, is infuriating. I also hate that it no longer works with VPNs. That sucks because when I'm in my second home(Madagascar) I like to still be able to see my favorite MSNBC shows. For some reason, you're not allowed to watch American broadcasts there. I guess I won't be able to keep it, when I move there. For all the bad, there is still a lot of good.

The service is okay, except for the dvr option. Even though we've paid extra for the dvr option, we cannot fast forward through the commercials - so annoying! Contacting customer service was useless.

Skip the extra cost for the dvr option since sling restricts fast forwarding even if you've paid for the service.

The service is cheap but I cannot believe they make people pay for it. It doesn't work! I had so much trouble watching TV with this service because it wouldn't load shows.
The DVR is a joke! It only records shows sometimes, and the functionality is very finicky in terms of being able to pause or rewind. Sometimes I could; sometimes I couldn't (so, sometimes I'd have just 5 minutes left of a show and if I paused it, it would restart at the very beginning and not allow me to fast forward. That's WITH the DVR option!).
The user interface leaves a lot to be desired. Navigating the UI was a miserable experience because it is so clunky and not at all intuitive, and then there was the issue of basic commands not working. For example, if I searched for a show title, it wouldn't let me hit the "search" button to actually execute the search, or it would allow me to enter two or three letters and then only allow me to navigate to a different menu.
Good luck to anyone trying to use the DVR option. The whole UI for the DVR is so user-unfriendly. It's so hard to actually manage your recordings, add shows, delete shows, etc. None of it makes any sense.
In all seriousness, when I tried to watch TV with this service, it would take me about 20-30 minutes of technical issues before I could even begin watching a show. By the time I would get it working, I didn't have time to watch the show.

I only wished I had read the reviews before subscribing to SingTv. I signed up on 9/14/22 at 8:33 pm and canceled the same day at 9:33 pm. They billed me for a month the next day. When I contacted them, I was told refunds are not available even though I only had the service for 1 hour. The reason that I canceled is because the service sucked. You can't just pick shows and add to a list to be watched later. You had to watch when it came on and of course I was not able to rewind, fast foward, or pause what I tried to watch. Also, on the page where you sign up said you have 3 days to cancel before being charged. Even trying to set up recording to the DVR service didn't work. I contacted their customer service and was told that was not on their website and I couldn't receive a refund. I want to warn others before they fall victim to this service. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO SLINGTV. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Burea
Had sling TV but canceled after 7 day trail cause it freezes so much can't watch TV shows and if I'm not watching live tv it plays the same commercial every so many mins an louder each time I'm most only complaining cause it freezes so much and I know it's now our WiFi cause I can't watch Netflix and it not freeze at all so I'll never again get sling and I've passed the word along to people and family I know not to ever get sling TV
I live in North County San Diego. Sling blacks out sporting events from Los Angeles and San Diego. LA is more than 100 miles away. San Diego is more than 40. This is ridiculous.

The info was still in your system.(blue & orange package), Didn't need the orange... don't watch much sports, but I did ask about local channels. Company. You only carry 1 local channel (fox-waga tv). REALLY!. He wanted to know what was my favorite channels to watch. I gave some specifics. His customer service went to hell when I asked was he trying to get my business, he blatantly stated " I could care less about channels you watch or want... I immediately hung up. SLINGTV- train your Reps to better represent YOUR COMPANY, educate them on their phone & customer service etiquette -If you want to grow your business.-- & NO YOU CAN'T HAVE MINE.
Sling TV bills itself as something different than your regular cable company. That's not true. They treated me as bad, if not worse, than my cable company ever did
I thought I had cancelled my service as I was instructed to. Low and behold, my credit card got billed for another month of service. I called "customer support" and told them my circumstances. They said I had cancelled incorrectly so the charge was valid. My experience has been that reasonable companies would have at least offered a partial refund from the time I cancelled my service. Apparently Sling is desperate for money and kept my entire monthly fee. Supervisor at Sling was a jerk, as was the first guy I spoke to. At no time did either person want to hear my situation fully. At no time did they acknowledge Sling is no different than cable companies when they comes to taking advantage of customers.
I'm so glad I ended up choosing to use Hulu instead of a company like Sling. Hulu is great. Clear picture all the time. Excellent customer support. Excellent upgrade choices. Hulu is a real company I like spending my money with.
Sling = rinky dink. Hulu = excellence.
Please stay away from Sling.
Tons of problem with my DVR and now they erasef my current and future DVR. Then I found charges on my credit card from them for channels that I never signed up for. No one helps. Ever.
