In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
Signed up for Sling TV after receiving an Amazon Firestick as a gift. It has been nothing but USELESS unless you want to watch commercials stream. Can't get video to load, whether it's On Demand streaming or what's currently playing. Buffers, freezes, or fails to load entirely and it happens on every channel (unless it's a commercial, of course those load fine every time!). Customer Service is useless; they tell you first that it's probably internet issues or anything other than Sling itself (even though Hulu, Netflix, Amazon all work fine). Then they tell you to uninstall and reinstall the app, hard wire the device to the modem, clear your cache, and do a Force Stop on the app... well I tried all of these multiple times and NOTHING fixes it! The best they can offer is "we'll send this to our engineering team." They're charging monthly fees for a service people cannot receive= pathetic.
Also not impressed that on the rare occasion videos do load, there is a significant difference between not just the video quality but also the volume of the show and the volume of the commercials. If I wanted to be screamed at about pregnancy tests, mascara, or Dawn dish soap, I'd find another way to go about it than by paying for Sling. FCC rules regulating commercials should apply to streaming apps too!
Overall... stay away! It's not worth the hassle or the hours on chat with tech support with no resolution. The price is not worth the frustration you will experience.

I tired Sling for a month, it wasn't for me, I couldn't get any of channels I liked, even upgraded to Premier service, I'm huge NFL fan, just prescribe to NFL+, this service is great for Lantio Community, most of the channels I never watch, so why pay 50 dollars, when I couldn't access my favorite channels, maybe adding local channels, HBO, they have Showtime, but everyone streaming has Showtime, it's not bad, but with the upcoming fall shows, you want to be able to watch, now everyone is offering streaming, it's the future at a low cost, no contract, people are leaving cable, but leaving to streaming services that offer everything.

I signed up for 2 month prepaid and I received a free Roku to receive sling TV. I asked the sales person if I could watch more than one TV at the time. And I was told I could watch 3. They have already taken my money, they got their sale, then I received 1 Roku remote. I called them and asked how am I to watch 3 TVs with one remote? They told me you are not, you can stream 3 devices not TVs. I requested an immediate cancellation and an address to send the Remote back to and a refund. The initial person was confused so I asked for a supervisor, he promised me a refund and a cancellation. Then I received an email stating that they do not do refunds. I then call them back and of course it is a different person who is even more confused I again ask for a supervisor. The woman was rude, disrespectful and a liar. So I have now been lied to by 5 employees from this company watch out. I watched 4 minutes of sleeping my tv to find out if I could watch on other TVs. Do not sign up it is a scam. Terrible business policy - NOT ACCEPTABLE and is a SCAM. Totally unnecessary stress added to my day, and rest assured after this experience I will never consider getting services and will relay to friends, family, and reviews online that this type of policy is NOT OK.
These people are crooks and pathetically hide from their customers. Any failure on their part does not warrant any discount, refund or extra days of watching. If you struggle for 2 days while they flounder to fix a problem, it's yours to eat. Now that they've installed a failed new app on Fire TV, I've experienced weeks of lockups and viewing interruptions. Sling is aware that their crappy app wasn't well tested before they released it, but it's just tough luck, customer's problem, and no further consideration is given. It's difficult to reach anyone and all they are trained to say is No, we can't help you. Literally, the only reason to call is to get a credit for a problem, and they don't do credits, period! These people are corrupt and crooked! If you want corrupt and crooked, save another $20 and find one of the Indian streaming companies that uses Lenox MP app. There are several and they have about the same issues that Sling does, but they have more channels. But, a little shady, like Sling. Sling can go screw themselves.
After finally getting a human for a live interaction instead of the chat I was disconnected from I was beyond disbelief. Do NOt subscribe or resubscribe. I merely resubscribed to blue with Discovery + added. My bank account was charged a recurring payment of $199.00. Alise (the real human voice I interacted with told me the $199.00 was a promotional 6 month package I signed up for and it includes sports (I watch zero sports. None, nada, zilch.) To top it off she said the charge is nonreversible as it was a promotional. It will be renewed Feb 2024 and I get to play the came of hoping to unsubscibe and cross my fingers they don't rebill me. Ditto on the Discovery + package. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE OR RESUBSCRIBE TO SLING PERIOD. Had been very happy with Sling before. They make it impossible to cancel or change. Billing absolutely sucks.
I used to like Sling Blue until recently they started doing all these updates and adding crap channels with crap content. Then today, the final straw, I had to go in and update my payment method as the card I was using has been compromised so I got a new card. On the Sling TV app it said to reactivate for $40 to keep current subscription. I tried on the TV to renew and it wasn't working so I went to Sling.com>my account> manage payment. All I did was enter the new card number and hit submit and guess what?That 40 sling blue reactivation turned into a $284 debit from my bank account. I called Sling and was told "there's an issue on the website and they are working on it. Ok That is not Ok I want my money. While the lady was giving me the ID number the call dropped so I had to call back and talk to some guy who had no clue what was going on. I have to wait for their developers, with whom I have no faith, to send an email. If I hear nothing by 08/23 or if they do not refund my money, I then have to call my bank to do a dispute resolution. This is BS and I will be cancelling Sling permanently after this is settled. They added packages and charged me for 5 months in advance and I didn't sign off or acknowledge or initiate this change the guy said oh you selected it I said the hell I did I went to payments and updated my card as I've done times before there was no selecting or deselecting anything.
Beware! Use vidgo instead. Costs more but they won't rob you.
I downloaded this app for the 7 day free trial to watch the NBA finals. It didnt work. Cancelled the next day and still got charged for a subscription. This is a straight up scam.
Sling was a waste of money. Always had tech issues and when I tried to cancel it, was informed I'd have to pay for the rest of the month even though I had canceled it. Really unsatisfied

And 10 minuets before my game I opened Sling TV's app and I was unable to see it! I call them and they tell me that they have some blocked games that they will not show! They DID NOT state this in the contract that I signed up for!
In addition, last week they broadcasted the same exact game, but all of a sudden! Today! They decided to not broadcast it! Also, they are not broadcasting another VERY important game from tommorow:

Don't do it. Worst and most misleading service ever. Sling advertisements said said you can watch the NFL. Logged on for a minute - no NFL. Called and customer rep said need orange, blue service (and had to pay extra for red zone). Added additional package(s).
Then was told can only watch NFL on ONE SCREEN (even though website shows a graphic of and note saying you get three screens. So son can't watch NFL downstairs with friends if I want to watch upstairs (Fubo allows you to have up to 12 screens). Then representative tells me I only get one Sunday game - need ANOTHER service for second game (Fubo and Hullu love has all games except Thursday night).
I said please cancel and provide refund immediately - moments after signing up. They said no, you already logged on (once for about three minutes). No refund for you!
Anyway, disputing charge but they are insisting to credit card company that I must pay for full month. Shady and misleading advertising at best, fraudulent at worst and horrible treatment of its customers.
Starting to regret "cord cutting". Companies like this are going to be the death of streaming services. It's already ridiculous you need Prime for Thursday game, sling for one Sunday and another service for 2nd game).
Sling is Just a horrible company.

I signed up for the 7 day trial. I got billed a full month the very next day. This should have been a red flag but we were excited to try it and not have a $125 dish bill. Cut to 7/30/17. I was surprised to see my Credit card had been charged for a month so soon. I was told it would bill the same day if the month I started the service (so the 8th). Well like a lot of people I live pay check to pay check most months. I need to know when bills will hit so I can account for that cash. I called Sling and they stated it was prepay. Well exactly! And I'm calling two day before August starts to cancel and ask for a refund! Nope the robot behind the phone kept stating it was prepay and I will have service till August 31st. Well I called my bank and got it reversed thank god! They don't care about customers or retaining them the good old fashioned way. Horrible experience. I found the commercials most irritating as they literally play the same 3 every ten minutes if your not watching live tv. The commercials are so loud that they rattled my tv, but my shows were so low volume u had to turn the tv all the way up. Never again. Sling is the worst.

I tried SlingTV for a free 7 day trial and on the 7th day cancelled because it was not going to work for my elderly husband. THEY CHARGED me for a MONTH as I called 3 hours later than I had called to sign up but ON THE SAME DAY. It is STILL the 7th DAY and they wont refund me. FRAUDS.

On 8/26/2017 I attempted to purchase a paper-view program. I was never able to view the paper-view program and did not even know if the purchase was final because I kept being kicked out of the server due to high traffic. I contacted customer service and spoke with Cynthia, who was very rude and was no assistance to me at all on 8/27/17. Cynthia advised that the fight was non refundable. I then asked to speak with a supervisor and was connected to Tasheena. Tasheena told me that she would contact billing and I would be contacted by them for the only chance at receiving a refund. I am very angry because I expect to receive a product that I purchase and not have to jump through hoops to get it. Tasheena also told me to contact my bank and have them stop the payment. Also I advised Tasheena that if i did not receive compensation in any form I would cancel my services contact BBB and place negative publicity, and instead of offering as much support to help me she sent me a link to cancel witch I followed through with.

Sling touts themselves as a great streaming TV service, but they are anything but. The app fails to launch and/or freezes constantly on new Sony Bravia 4K XBR930D TVs. You are told to uninstall/reinstall the app from Google Play. That is their fix.
Local programming is almost nil, and when you sign-up for add-ons like NFL RedZone, you get no local coverage.

I found out I didn't want the service and when I logged in to my account to cancel it. I was kicked out of the system as soon as I clicked on CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. I logged back into the system and tried to cancel the account the same thing happen. As soon as I clicked on CANCEL MY ACCOUNT it kicked me out of the system again
The next day I tried again and as soon as I clicked on CANCEL MY ACCOUNT I was kicked out of the system. The Next day I was charged with 1 months service fees
I contacted Sling and they told me It was not their fault I was not able to cancel my account and wouldn't refund my fee
I did the seven day free trial and they took the payment for the first month before the seven day trial was over and would not reimburse me. Theyre crooks in the service sucks
Not ecen 3 minutes into the application process to fill out free 7 day trial, sling asks for your credit card info to bill you after the 7 days is up.
In addition, channels like HBO and ABC are not on a package list and are an additional fee to the package costs. At the end, you would pay $30 on top of your package cost.
Its still cheaper than your larger companies but lets be honest and straight with us SLING and honor your FREE trials.
If a company is willingly unhonest up front, how they goibg to treat us as paying customers?

This is a greedy company without any understanding of what makes a successful business. They aren't going to last very long, I know that. I signed up for Sling even though I have cable, because we moved our TV downstairs, and rent, and don't want to install a cable cord downstairs. TWD was being aired, and after that, I didn't really feel the need for it because we rarely watch TV. So I cancelled it in April, knowing that my subscription would continue until the end of the month. Yesterday, 5/2/17, I receive a charge for Sling. I immediately contacted them via chat, spoke with someone named Seth. He provided me a link to cancel, though I already cancelled, and I asked for a refund because I cancelled it last month and they say they don't refund. So I emailed. Same thing. Then they referred me to their POS terms of use. So I reached out on Twitter. They couldn't help me there either. They aren't compromising or understanding, or sympathetic or anything. They just want their money. All I would like is $24.99 returned to me for services I'm not using. I'm going to do my best to let others know that this company is not worth the time and money. Stick with Hulu, Prime, Netflix, and your cable provider. I'm currently trying to reach out to the CEO as well and I've already filed a BBB complaint. Seriously, don't be a sucker like I was unless you like throwing away your hard earned cash.
I have had my Sling sub for several years now and been pretty satisfied until recently. I am not sure if it is Dish taking it over or what, but it has become increasingly difficult to make changes to my account. I am in the process now of canceling my add on Sports sub because there isn't really anything I am interested in watching on that addon right now. You are supposed to be able to change your addons or add to them on the site, but there is no option when you go to the addon section to cut that package. Trying to get anyone to help you is a maze of chat bot gibberish and or long waits for a human on chat. Their live chat is a never ending wait. See attached image, the live chat refreshed every 5 minutes with a message saying it would be a 20 minute wait. Forget calling the number listed on Google, you get a DishTV recording and no option for Sling. I was able to finally find another number for Sling itself, but when I call I get a recording that nobody is available to help. I am probably going to go to YouTube TV, they have local TV options and all of the channels I want that I can get on Sling. Ridiculous.

They need to fix their site and make account maintenance more manageable. Customer service seems to an after thought as well.

It's interface is awful. It's "DVR" is awful I guess you get what you pay for, but I'm guessing the monopoly/Price Fixing of $60 a month will kick in at the end of the year.
WORST COMPANY AND WORST SERVICE. This company just rips off Customers, STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. I was using a Trial Version and even when I was registering for the App I have seen that they will be charging me $15 a Month after the Trial but they charged me $58.99. I thought it is fine and the app airs only a few games and I was not able to see all NFL games. I talked to the customer service and asked them that I was not able to watch the NFL Games and they are telling me that I should call them next time and tell them so that they will do the trouble shooting. In the mean while I will be losing 1 Qtr waiting for someone to answer my call and 2nd Qtr having them trouble shoot?
When I asked them why are you charging me for something when you failed to provide the service they said they cannot refund the amount since it is a prepaid account and customer happiness is not their motto.
