In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.

I'm a recent cable cutter. I dropped my satellite TV subscription after completing the contract. One of the things that frustrated me about cable packages is the number of channel in the 150 or 200 channel super mega package that we never ever watch yet pay have to subscribe. You can choose them a la carte.
I put up an antenna and decided to stream everything else. Many, many cable TV stations like ESPN offer the ability to stream their live content over the internet. BUT you can only do this if you subscribe to a cable or satellite provider. Well... if I have cable, why would I want to stream this? (rain fade, away from home with only my phone, etc.) But really! This whole TV thing is quite a racket.
Sling.tv provided a way for me to subscribe to ESPN and a few other channels without buying an expensive programming bundle or a two year contract. For $20/month, I got a few stations I would normally watch without being burdened by a contract. It seemed a pretty good deal. Their app works with a few devices including Roku and ChromeCast. It doesn't work on my Apple TV (go figure). It seems if Apple doesn't offer it on iTunes, you can't play it on your Apple TV (partly true but mostly sarcasm). I find this Apple exclusionary practice frustrating. I like the $20/month with no contract terms.
The catch, if you have several TVs and several devices, you can only watch on one device at a time. So, if I'm watching ESPN and the missus wants to watch HGTV on another device. ESPN goes bye-bye. If I watch CNN on my iPhone and she's at home watching A&E, her program is interrupted. If you want viewing on more than one devices simultaneously, you need multiple subscriptions at $20 each.
Watching NFL games via ESPN/Sling.tv stream was frustrating and sometimes unbearable. I have a 60MB internet connection yet buffering, pixelation and hiccups occur on various devices. I am not going back to cable or satellite so I find somewhere to watch the big game if it isn't available over the air.
This is a good start but still needs work.
Sling TV FREE TRIAL is a scam. I was charged $74.98 after free trial. I called Sling TV, but they refused to refund me. STAY AWAY from this scam Sling TV free trial.
Worst tv ever. Signed up for free trial and half off first month and was charged $45 and refuse to give money back for misrepresentation.

I signed up with Sling Total Package so that I can have access to unlimited sports and kids channels. However, I have not had consistent accessibility to my "SERVICES THAT I PAID FOR" since the first week I have had these services. I have attempted to contact Sling several times in regards to the services that I have not been able to access, but each time I called, I was waiting for over an hour before hanging up. I have had to download other apps; often payment needed, so that I can view "THE SAME SHOWS, GAMES, ETC." that I paid for with this fraudulent company. Today was the final straw! Sling took away all of my sports extras all together! I used to at least be able to see it and even click on it from time to time, but they "LITERALLY DELETED IT". I contacted Sling again today and spoke to a supervisor named Mike ID Number 99IV9. He told me that he knows I do not have the services that I paid for, but they cannot refund me for the services that I did not receive! I told them that I do not give a damn about any of their policies! I did not receive "WHAT I PAID FOR" AND ALL HE DID WAS SAY THERE IS NOTHING HE COULD DO! This is fraud! False advertising! YOU CANNOT CHARGE SOMEONE FOR SERVICES THAT THEY DID NOT RECEIVE! I WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO RESOLVE THIS! BBB ALREADY INFORMED

1. For all of those that say they were incorrectly charged or wrongfully charged... Contact your credit card holder/bank who will be backed by Visa, MasterCard, etc. and have them submit a chargeback on the card for being wrongfully charged. Explain your situation to the bank and make sure they conduct a chargeback... if you really want to teach the company a lesson, do this as they will get bad review from their "merchant" who processes their charges and the merchant may charge them more for the service they provide OR may drop them altogether and they will have a difficult time processing payments if they cannot take payment online via credit card/debit card. When you are on the phone with Sling customer service... tell them to refund your money or you will call your bank to begin the chargeback process and this will hurt their relationship with their merchant. Do not listen to them if they bluf and say you will not be able to complete a chargeback... you are they buyer and you will.
2. I am okay with it so far... took some getting used to though. I do not like when shows disappear while I am in the middle of binge watching them. No warning... I sit down the next night to finish out a season and all of the sudden it is not available anymore. That made me very upset. Also, the shows you can watch and the current season only (normally) with no way to go back and watch the old seasons because they are not available. Sometimes when their IS a current season... only 3 to 5 random episodes will be available so you cant always start at the beginning. Really takes the fun out of binge watching. They may want to renegotiate with some of their contracts to prevent this and take a lesson from Netflix... I understand that you cannot have it all but they also charge $39 for my package with Netflix charging $12. It takes a bit of getting used to so if you go for the trial package... set time aside to explore it to see if it is for you.

When I purchased sling tv, i was told if I purchase both Orange and Blue packages, I would be able to watch programs on multiple tv's. After a week when I got my second ROKU device, I discovered I could not play ESPN on 2 televisions as told. It is a big lie. When I called back to troubleshoot the issue, I was told that ESPN is a premium channel and only allowed on one tv. If I wanted to play it on tv's, I will have to pay for an additional service. They will not give me a refund. This is the email they sent to me:

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Currently, your account has been set to cancel at the end of your current cycle on 2/17/2018 to stop any future payments from being taken.
We are unable to refund the charges on the account to your card at this time as Sling TV is a prepaid service. If you require an exchange for a defective unit, please contact Roku at support.roku.com.

I've had Sling for several years. The payment is posted as Amazon Pay then to my credit card. In April I noticed my bill had increased without notifying me of rate hike. The customer service person (csr) told me I had added channels in February 2023 to include Portuguese channels. Don't speak or read Portuguese nor do I know anyone that does. The csr said I had been hacked and it was my fault that I use a public WIFI. My accounts including Sling are only accessed through my home via my iPad or laptop which never leave home. Refused to give me credit for the 2 months the Portuguese channels were on the account. Csr wanted me to believe that someone got through my motion detection cameras undetected, disabled my alarm system, got past my Doberman, got into my locked safe to get the passwords for my iPad, laptop and account passwords. Then got out undetected. I had called Sling in early February when I started seeing some Middle Eastern advertisements and no mention of the addition of the Portuguese channels. After being belittled by the CSR I found that Sling had been hacked. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Sling then went and issued a disconnect of my service effective April 29th 2023. Again, called Sling April 5th 2023 where I was assured that no service interruption. Today I see the credit card company reversed my credit as the Sling claimed I had never informed them to cancel. Service was not cancelled by me I only disputed the Portuguese channels. Called Sling again where I was informed to call Amazon as they cancelled it. Not true. Called Sling again where I was informed billing had issued the disconnect and no way to stop service from being disconnected on the 29th. Multiple phone calls and hours on the phone. Csr refused to let me speak to someone else. Please note the CSRs are in the Philippines and English is not their native language. It is sometimes difficult to understand them.
Wake up people they are rip offs I had sling TV for over a year and a half now and come to find out when I first started I had the orange and blue packet where I had two lifetimes and I had three Hallmark channels they removed all five of those stations they took them out and replace them with something I don't even know the stations they replace my regular stations with but they didn't changed my price I'm still paying the same price every month for channels I don't even want and know nothing about so I've been telling everybody my family and friends everyone do not go with Sling and they don't I wish I had someone to tell me about them before I signed up with them so I will be looking for another streaming company by the end of this month I will not be with sling I never seen nothing like this I never known the company to do this and then they talk to you about add-ons because that's what they do they take out the shows that you have because they know what you look at they know what you like so they will remove those shows and put them on an ad on where you wouldn't have no choice but to pay $6 for an add-on something you already had why are you paying $6 for an ad on and you already had that channel that's what they do I'm sick of them I don't need to be ripped off we're in the recession I do not need to be ripped off and I'm pretty sure you don't either we need to find another streaming service and not make these clowns any richer thank you yes I said it.
I wanted to make sure that whoever stole my card number would have the service canceled before my bank started the process of a fraudulent chargeback. Two calls did no good as they could not look up any info about me except last four digits of my card number. Their website says to contact them immediately should you expect fraud, and that exactly what I did while waiting for the charge to post on my bank account.

Thats part of the email. I saw others have received this as well. Im pretty upset at the wording that is sent to victims of fraudulent charges. How $#*!ing rude! As if Im not already pissed off as it is! It was like only two hours after the charge was made to my account I called to report fraud to Sling and no one would help me. This was two days I called and zero help except the ticket they filed with my info to tell me that my account cant be refunded.
And the funny part (thanks dumb asses as Sling) they send my email to the persons email that stole my credit card info. Real smooth help for fraud victims! Do not trust a company that doesnt respect victims of fraud.
