In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.

I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.

Over a year ago I tried the free 7 day trial. Cancelled it within 3 days. 5 days later my card was charged we contacted Sling to find out a duplicate email account was made using my card number. They refunded me the money within 24 hours. Fast forward a year later I was charged for Sling tv services. Contacted them and again was told my card was attached to an email that is not mine. Was sent an email confirming the account was cancelled. Was told I would get my money back within 24 hours. Contacted them again on Sunday 11-26-17 to be told they could not find any transaction associated with my card and that the email I was originally told now has a different name and card number associated to it. Billing sent me the following email

Thank you for contacting Sling TV. We identified the account tied to the charges and have cancelled it to avoid any future charges. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you, however, we will be unable to refund any charges for the services on this account.

If you do not recognize the charges, we encourage you to check with anyone in your household who might have access to your card information to ensure they did not order the service without your authorization. If you suspect any fraudulent activity on your card, please contact your bank or card issuer immediately with a full description of the issue if you have not done so already.

We appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve this for you. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

No one has my card number other than Sling. I have had no issues of fraud with my card for the last two years I have had it except for you guessed it Sling! My household has not had internet since January of this year. I have done a search on Google and have seen plenty of similar claims. My bank is now doing their investigation into this. I have a feeling that I will not get my money back. This company offers crappy service and in my opinion are thieves.

Terrible customer service and they refuse to issue refunds. We canceled on the day of renewal, yet they charged us and refuse to refund our money.

Slingvis a prepaid service,no contracts. July of 2023 they double billed my bank account. The payment for 7/4/23 was authorized,2nd payment on or about 7/14/23 not authorized. When I contacted customer service they denied accessing the account twice, told thrm bank confirmed they had withdrew the money from the account.I had to close out the account reisdued new bank cards,so they no longer had access to the account. In August 23 paid monthly subscrption eith $40 loaded gift card, September 2023 paid $40 with gift card on 9/14/23 on 9/18/23 sling discontunued my account stating,I needed to resubscribe,but refusing to return $40 payment or turn on my service. After numerous chat with sling that I video recorded. They ayyempted to say bill wasnt paid for June,July,Sept2023, then says slung bills two months in advance,Absolutely this has never been done,I been a customer for over 4 year's. Notice they confirmed August bill was paid, bank verified they got July 23 payment twice.
I asked where did they apply my$40 gift card funds, they reported to September,I no service and they're not refunding.
This streaming service is cheap,but they will debit your accounts without authorization & remove loaded funds from a gift card.
I made a BBB report hope they can stop sling d/b/a Dish network from ripping people off.

Sling.tv had a fight with Fox so was not carrying its channels. At the same time I signed up with a limited discount of $25 only to watch the American League baseball playoffs only being aired on FS1. So I did not and could not use their service and had to quickly pay YouTube.tv another $50 if I were to watch the first game that was starting in a few hours.

Sling stubbornly says that because at the time, Fox was not listed on their website as an available network, they are justified in keeping my money. Because I didn't somehow know about the dispute with Fox and somehow know that after years or however long of having FS1, they suddenly wouldn't (even though websites that review streaming services all over the Internet said they did) and because I thought too highly of them to think they would remove a network as popular as Fox without announcing this clearly on their homepage so people would know BEFORE they signed up, Sling gets my money and I get nothing.

Sling's problem with Fox and what seems like a deliberate attempt to keep people in the dark created such confusion that Sling had to have known that people wanting Fox would mistakenly sign up and be all too willing to give refunds as any ethical and respectable business would. Instead they took advantage of the confusion.

I have to wonder why Sling would not refund money given to them by mistake and under false pretenses? Why they would give excuses, argue and find trivial, opportunistic reasons to refuse refunds, angering and turning potential customer into enemies. Why take such a hit to their reputation? It makes sense only if you think of it in dollars and cents. Sling simply wants your money apparently at any cost.

Tried sling after deciding cable is too much and we need to get away from the TV a little more. Biy does Sling TV suck badly. The DVR complaint is credible. It wont let you pause programming then resume. On mine it rewinds the show all the way to where I paused and then I have to watch all the coercials again. Wtf is that? What A-hole engineer thought that was a good idea. It wont record anything I select. Even if I al watching it and tell it to record it, when I go back, it is never in the dvr section. The Ondeman is just as bad... Why the F when I select an Ondeman title it plays like I'm watching regular TV. You have to watch all the commercials and can't FF or RW. Mine also does this thing where it give you one FF and them it'll say "Not available on this channel". Like every channel says that so it's useless. Anyone denying this is working for Sling. It's garbage service. You pay $45 for Slimg blue/orange so thats like $1.50+ per channel. You can go to DTV or ATT and get 350+ channels in 4 rooms with NFL sumday ticket for $85 which is like. 25 a channel. I gave it a fair try but I am not a fan. It also crashes randomly during shows and you have to restart it. Does that at least 3 or 4x's a day. Just did it right now as I was typing that last line. Such a joke and not worth the money. They just try to push more channels on you with add ons which put the bill exactly where I was before with cable. I think it's time for Cable to make a comeback. Screw Sling

SlingTV customer service is rude and have terrible customer service skills. I was paying for my plan online, they upgraded my plan without asking me first thing but I went to pay it anyways because it only went up by $15.00 but I was going to call them to ask them why did they upgrade my plan without asking me and I was going to ask them to remove it so I could go back to my original plan. So, I submitted the payment and do you not know they charged me three hundred dollars! I called their customer service number and told them what happened. The girl said that they could not give me my money back due to it being a promotional offer. I asked what promotional offer because I went to pay my bill section and I viewed my bill before I put my card information in and it said $70.00 not $300.00. I also told the little girl that they cannot upgrade customers plans without asking them because I never made that change and nor can you charge my card for something that I did not approve of. So, she kept saying she could not refunded me back my money so I asked to speak with her supervisor and she said no she cannot let me speak with her supervisor because she's going to tell me the same thing and then hung up in my face. Without asking, they renewed my plan until the end of January2024. They used my card falsely. They did not get my consent to charge my card $300.00. I will be seeking an attorney and I will be reporting them to the BBB. Sling is bad business. Stay away from them. Sling is only about money. They do not care about their customers. And the only reason why they get a one star rating from me is because I cannot submit this review without giving them a star. Sling is trash and they deserve NO stars. Zero!

Crashes all the time. Not worth the money! The other apps work fairly OK on Roku, but sling FORGET IT!

This company is a joke. They do not have any of the Discovery channels, and they sold me a device (which I got discounted for purchasing 3 months in advance, when DirecTV Now, a similar service, gives the same device away for free for paying just 2 mos. In advance. As others have noted, NO REFUNDS, even when it's Sling TV's error! And at least at the time I signed up, nowhere on the website nor during any phone call, was I ever informed of no refunds. I filed a fraud charge with my credit card company and they then refunded my money, and then 45 minutes later I got an email welcoming me back to Sling TV and charged me even MORE money! I had to cancel my credit card number and wait for a new one to be issued. They also do not have it so you can sign into separate streaming sites on the Roku, like nearly all other companies let you sign into. I was sold an AirTV player, charged for 3 mos. Of their cloud DVR, but no one mentioned that the AirTV player did not support the cloud DVR. Their customer service should've already known this, but since it was their mistake, I should've received an IMMEDIATE refund! I didn't. My credit card company was 100% behind me and I did win the fight, but what a huge, stressful bunch of BS that was not necessary. Other companies are better at this than Sling. DirecTV does not have a cloud DVR, but Hulu is now offering streaming with a cloud DVR, but I already gave up and got a deal from Xfinity that costs less for my TV than Sling could ever offer, and it comes with a real DVR, tons of channels, etc. since I'm using their broadband, and the combination of both costs is considerably less than what I was able to get from any streaming company, especially when you need a lightning fast internet to watch these types of programming without constant buffering.

I got Sling trying to save some money (significantly less than Xfinity), but it just didn't give me the channels I wanted, and I couldn't get them as add-on's. So I canceled my service in August right after my August monthly charge. Today, 10/06/23, I get an email stating my account was reactivated (I didn't authorize), and that if I didn't authorize to go in and change my password. Which I immediately did, then I promptly recanceled the service. Then I check my bank account and it shows I was charged for the month. I then go to Sling to chat with a rep to get a refund, and they proceed to tell me they have no record I ever canceled my service until today and they cannot process a refund since it's a subscription service and they don't issue refunds if service is canceled after the monthly charge. I just get to use the service (that I don't want) for another month before it's deactivated. I canceled in August, didn't get charged in September, get en email it's been reactivated and I get charged again in October, but they tell me they don't show it was ever canceled until today and the reactivation email I received must have been in error. It's shady as heck. If you have Sling and want to leave, make sure you keep your cancellation emails because they will use it against you if you happen to delete once you feel the cancellation was complete. There are better streaming services, maybe at a higher cost, but I've never had any trouble with them in the past, this was my first time using Sling. Even if trying to save a buck, just don't use them, they are shady. There are so many bad reviews on BBB as well. Stop giving them business.

They have false advertising! Do not get Sling!

I signed on for the free trial, canceled on day one, they took my money anyway! Ace TV is $10/mo and has 5x the content. STAY AWAY FROM SLING TV!

I signed up for a promo worth $210 of Sling TV with purchase of a TV. The promo was for 6 months of Sling Orange + HBO. I never heard of Sling before and was not familiar with their practices. I assumed Sling Orange included HBO and applied my promo code. It turned out that HBO is a separate add-on, so I immediately edited my account to add HBO. What Sling claims happened was, when I signed up for Sling Orange, the promo code applied for 11 months of service. When I then signed up for HBO, it charged my card 11 months of service for HBO, as I was already locked into an 11 month billing cycle.

Thinking it was not a big deal to fix on their part, I called their customer service and requested my account be updated to reflect the promo of 6 months and for the HBO charge to be refunded. I then received an email from their billing department that the charge was not refundable and that I was essentially stuck in an 11 month contract with them.

After multiple calls and emails denying my refund, I was amazed at the balls of this company. One rep even blamed me for the charge and told me "even if you cancel your promo now, you will still owe the 11 month charge." They are perfectly fine with charging you for a service that you already canceled and no longer use.

After filing a complaint to the FCC, their shady billing department finally agreed to refund back the money (which I am still waiting to see on my credit card). Long story short, if you are a victim of this company's fraudulent billing practices. FILE A FCC COMPLAINT against their asses. Ala carte TV is likely the future, but these mofos are NOT the savior we deserve.
