In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
Rated a 1 star...because I could leave a ZERO!
For sports fans...Go with Hulu...avoid the frustration!
Bought orange+blue+live sports packages... mostly to watch college football.
Every weekend it's the same b.s.
Watching multiple devices is THE issue...
a game on ESPN...another on Fox... etc.
App kicks me out of devices - beyond one.
Try talking to an actual human for cust. Service! When you do get someone (after waiting for 2 hours), only to hit a brickwall of incompetence. Always someone from "southeast asia" that reads from a pre-scripted list when prompted about my issues.
You lose every time, with zero resolution.
Horrible experience.
Cancelling...Never to return!
Today 1/28/23 I moved from my office to living room and turned on my tv back to Sling. I was prompted to register again and call a 1 800 number a customer service representative answered and told me I needed to pay a new registration fee, the representative was not empathetic to my time or frustration interrupting my day. After almost a decade as a loyal Sling customer I immediately decided to cancel and sign up with a competitor the decision was made for 2 reasons I don't like the new registration fee as a long time customer for the same services I am already paying for and the lack of empathy the representative demonstrated. I am going to leverage my social media following and share with all this new practice and hope others will follow. The same service is offered by others with as good or better offerings. I am only one customer consider me a Snowflake but we all know what Snowflakes can do when we stick together.
While restarted my Sling Orange subscription, they added 3 add-ons for another $24 without my authorization. I immediately tried to get them to refund them. Twice on the chat channel (after 30 minutes each of waiting) they dropped me in the middle of the conversation. On the phone, they refused to refund my overcharge only offering a future credit.
Be very careful with them.
Sling takes advantage of having people sign up and then not knowing how to cancel subscription. I signed up through Roku four months ago but never used it. I tried to cancel my subscription through Roku but could not. Sling kept charging me every month. I talked to a manager at Sling (Eric) tonight. He verified that I have never watched any program but would not give me refund! What a shameful company, charging me for services that I never received!
If I have my tv on at a normal volume, the commercials are blasted at a very high volume. I have called twice about this. The first time, they told me others have experienced this and they have their engineering department working on it. I was told I would be contacted when they come up with something. I called back today, well over a week after the first call, and was told the same thing. I don't appreciate being placated. Either it gets fixed, or I'm leaving.
Trying to watch the 2023NBA Playoffs and I've never been so frustrated in my life. First I paid $55 just to watch and buffering is what I get. I'm challenged every game. It was half time before I could even log in on one game. NEVER AGAIN. Sling is bad news. I hate it so much. Money back thank you.

First I signed up for blue package for $35-$10 as new customer. Straight off the tv picture definition is terrible. Like watching some old 80's tv show, except it's new content. Colors suck and picture dark. And it's allways pausing to load, that's on them not my connection. Very awkward to fast forward and rewind. Here's the crazy part, IOS 15 is out for a long time now. But it only supports IOS 11. That's years ago now. So VERY disappointing. I cancelled after 12 hours. So I tried to contact customer service see if they might give me a refund. Guess what? There is no way to contact customer service, period, no email or other portal. Best you can get is a bot that can't help you.
Shameful product. It's cheap so if you are super tight on cash maybe it's better than nothing, But I'd think about using some free service get what u can. By the way I checked other streaming to make sure the problem wasn't my connection. Nope it was Sling.
Tip for consumers:
Quit! Or better yet save your money go elsewhere

My bad but they charged me for 8 full months after I cancelled. I should have looked closer at my bank transactions. They can tell the last time I used their service so it's evident I thought it was cancelled. Good luck getting a refund. Your concerns go into some magic customer service box with no follow up or concern. Terrible business model. Remember without the client you wouldn't exist.
Terrible customer service, limited high resolution streaming options. No superbowl even if you have to sports package. They made it virtually impossible to buy pay or stream the big game. So with that being said folks. This streaming app doesnt have america in its best interest or the big show would be on there packages.
The worth of a service organization is behaviour when things go wrong. On 5/10/23 sling had an outage that crossed the nation. Sling uses social media for customer service of all things, they acted like it was a normal day, posting about their great programming and live games to watch. Not once did the acknowledge the existing problem. Sling, as a corporation, has the no respect for its customers. I will be canceling my service as soon as this month is done. If you don't mind BAD customer service then spend your hard earned money here. If I could give ZERO stars I would.
Tip for consumers:
If you hate bad service avoid sling. They don't answer the phone either. I was on hold yesterday for 2 hours and today for 20 min and going while writing this review. I'm calling to cancel.

Sling tv is absolutely horrible. Constantly dropping shows right in the middle of viewing. Constant buffering. Extremely hard to get ahold of customer service when a problem does arise. Just so so so many problems with an app that has been around for awhile. Shows me they just dont care.
We are rural so decided to purchase Sling T. V. for 3 months with the free Roku stick. What a waste of money. We purchased for my Sunday night Walking Dead. What a kick in the pants that was. I couldn't even watch it with all that buffering. I called and "No credits" and "No refunds". They don't care. So basically they don't guarantee anything! Just because they show your favorite programs in their lineup, doesn't mean you will be able to watch them. Buyer beware. What a scam! Customer service is really bad too. They kept saying, "look at your Terms/agreement. I always thought if you sold someone something and the seller couldn't provide, isn't that illegal?
I recently ditched cable and tried on line streaming TV with free trials from Spectrum, Sling, You Tube TV, and HBO Now. The only one that charged my card before the free trial had ended was Sling. I signed up on 3/10 and cancelled 3/11 (their service is very low tech). They have promised a refund and acted as though they did me a favor. There needs to be a class action law suit against this deceitful company
I'm over it! Y'all don't hold your end! Every week yall mess up my recordings. Where I literally have to wait 24 hours for it to come available on demand! No, customer service, nothing! A waste of money!

After being a paying customer for almost two years, I have come to the end of the road with SlingTV.
The website "review" function often triggers error messages, which is frustrating. After several attempts to make changes (reductions) I finally got a customer support person who informed me that even though my payment was not yet processed, nothing could be done to resolve my being overcharged by forty-five dollars. Being retired this presents an unacceptable situation and it was made clear to me that I would have to take it and no reduction, change or refund was possible.
I don't appreciate the fake concern expressed by the SlingTV rep and worse their don't give a crap attitude.
Be leary of SlingTV before you decide.
All I want is CNN, Fox News, ESPN, and ESPN2. It's $45 to get all those channels as it requires the blue and orange bundle. If they change this it's a 5/5 review from me. The service is great, but so long as it lacks flexibility I may as well just go with standard cable. I hope sling corrects this and I can become a life long, loyal customer.
Thanks for considering my complaint and please do not respond with "we have contract restrictions." I know this and don't want to be condescended to. I hope you can solve these contract problems and make your product worth while.
Kudos to what you have accomplished so far. Keep sticking it to these criminal cable company's. Cheers.
Best,
Daniel
We mostly watch sports on TV. When I chose sling, I basically "went" by the reviews and comments. I had read that getting both Blue and Orange would give us good, main-stream sports coverage. I was wrong. We live 90 miles from Seattle. We got no Seattle sports and no Seattle TV stations. We got only a few NFL games a week (only rarely the Seahawks) and no U of Wa games, etc. Often we'd go on to check out some major game or sporting event, and we often didn't get it. Really bad. I think this probably varies somewhat by market, but don't sign on (like for 3 months to get the free AirTV player and antenna adapter, until you look very closely at what's offered.
Sling.com has been charging me $24.99 since November 2016 (through and including February 2018). I NEVER signed up for the service. In fact, I had no idea about this service, I'd never heard about them until I noticed an unauthorized charge for $24.99 on my February 2018 bank statement. We are talking about $399.84 over a 16 month span. They claim someone in my household signed up. Really? I have cable, Netflix, AppleTV, and Amazon Prime, so why on earth would I need Sling.com? The fact that they have horrible reviews speaks volumes. Their tactics should be deemed unlawful!
Had Sling for 2+ years and first the price went from $35/month to $48/month with ZERO warning. Then some idiot decided to "upgrade" the UI and it's absolutely horrible and extremely annoying. I can accept that change is necessary but when the change is worse than what was working just fine before... no. I'm mostly pissed that they raised my bill without one single email, letter or phone call. That's just effed up. Oh, and my DVR went from 100 hours to 10 (yes, 10) hours. Again with no warning.
You should be able to get your money back when you get use it only use it for 2 hours and never got to watch any football or anything on there so I think your pro your message in sucks you service sucks and I would recommend you to my worst enemy
In a word: unreliable. Once I found out YouTube TV cost less, I was out. The last straw was being asked for an extra 7.99 per month f or Paramount channel. Wth? I paid extra for a sports package that often did not deliver. I'd be watching a game and the screen would go dark. Not an isolated issue. Service reps would either not answer the phone or hang up right after they answered the phone OR they would be as rude and unhelpful as possible. Thank you Josue! For being the biggest jerk I have ever spoken to on the phone. I will not miss this "service".
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site. Use another service.
Skip it and stick with your streaming channels! Total tipoff, terrible quality (movies cut off in the middle and you cant restart from where you were) and they refuse to refund anyone even when you're not getting what you paid for.
I have been trying to get in touch with some one for four days on the phone for hours at a time the only way to speak to someone is to say your a new customer then they put u on hold for hours I cleaned my entire house for two hours and fifteen minutes no one answered spoke to supervisors she said I understand and put me back on hold unbelievable horrible sling tv is horrible
Consistently drops real time sports channels. No other internet channel at home has this problem, not Netflix, not Amazon, not Youtube, not Hulu. I just missed the last 5 minutes of the CF playoffs, a common occurrence but that's the last straw I am done. I have now cancelled my service. Zero customer support, 'customer chat' was a bot that did not even understand my issue.
Learn from my experience - sling is a ripoff.
Why does it suck? Freezes every 3 min, website wont load my log in. Have to log out an back in everytime just to get my channels. On my apple tv the software wont even keep a steady picture 80 percent of the time.
