In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
Cancelled service in August to get local stations for college football. All good. Love new service. Who knew buffering was not standard streaming behavior?
We have Roku with Sling button. Wife has Alzheimers and pressed the button as default way to turn on TV.
Turns out Sling kept payment card on file and deactivated account.
A week ago I called for a refund and asked card be removed from account as I could not do so from web. 2as told would take 10 business days. Got refund and cancellation.
Same scenario q week later, did I mention Alzheimer's, and no refund, no apology and refusal to escalate to a supervisor. They cite my wife's 90 minutes of viewing 'Friends,' as reason not to refund.
Terrible, terrible company.

So I gave sling TV 2 stars because they have definitely saved me money on not paying for cable... however,,, you definitely get what you pay for. I can't watch anything on VH1 right now... which is irritating me. Channels load a lot... that is also annoying. I definitely don't feel like $150 per month is fair for cable ONLY- but if you are offering a service for a cheaper price it should not include poor quality. If you offer a service, I should receive that service regardless. I like having a cheaper bill but miss having the convenience of watching what I want when ever I choose,
Absolute scam. After reviewing and trying there channel selection cancel immediately no more then 30 min. They refused to refund the money. 30 Days trial for free is absolute scam they will charge you instantly and will not return your money.
This streamer sucks, freezes, sound out of sink, forgets my account. I bought this service to live stream MSNBC which is only available on paid cable services and a few streaming services with live streams. They can't do basic streaming, the sound does not sync, often MSNBC is not available, the steam freezes, Sling freezes so you have to move off the station. YUCK! I have very fast and reliable fiber optic internet, new Roku TV's, none of my other services have these problems.

I tried the free trial to see if I could watch the football game on my phone since I was away from TV that Sunday... I signed up only to find that the game, on a local channel, was unavailable. I decided to cancel the same night online and got confirmation on screen that my free trial was suspended. I when tried to sign on and it said I wasn't in the system. A week later my card was being charged so I went online and cancelled again... This time I received an email confirming but it was cancellation 30 days out. After seeing other reviews, after the fact, I am sure this is by design. Don't even do it... Poor customer service, won't refund, no local channels, and what seems to be predatory practice.
Several months ago, we tried the free trial. We can celled after 2 days of buffering. We just found out that they've been charging us $64 all along. Because we are in the hole at the bank! Have to wait until Monday to try to get ANYTHING straightened out!
My account was hacked and charged for an extra subscription. I went in an unsubscribed immediately but was still charged until the end of the month. Customer service told me they don't do any refunds even if you were hacked because they are a prepaid service. Don't use sling!
Aug 25,2022. Went to cancel my account today. I could not do it through the website. You cancel, it then takes you to a question page of why you cancelled. You answer, and then are looped back to the question page without confirmation of anything. I had to "chat" with someone online to actually cancel the account. I also had to "chat" with someone to remove the credit card information. You google and find a video that calls for changing your browser and browser settings, This reminded me VERY MUCH of what happened to me many years ago with comcast over the phone (will not let you cancel without answering questions). Also, opinion now, their programming is crazy overpriced unless you like specific types of sports.
I subscribed to get coverage of Denver Broncos. Then they told me because a game is carried by CBS, they won't carry that game. I bought both Orange and Blue packages, and paid for the extra Sports package. They wouldn't agree to refund my subscription money when I cancelled. I had just cancelled Hulu to subscribe to Sling because they were less expensive - what a mistake!

There is not a night during prime time that the signal cuts out on major network NBC. Never resolved only getting worst. Not my network in the house it's business fast it is the transmission. Ruins the programing makes you avoid watching.
Zero customer care. Their support team is so aggressive that they will curse you on call as well. They simply dont care if you being their loyal customer or not. I like their international channel service but there customer care ppl are worst.
I started sling for the trail and for some reason my account compromised and someone purchased a rental Mayweather v McGregor which begins at Saturday, Aug 26,9:00 PM EDT. It is 08/25/2017 and 2:14 PM when I am writing this review. I called immediately and asked the customer service to refund me back the amount of purchase which was 99.99$ and they denied and said we can not refund. Is this a joke? How can you not refund for something which is not yet started and you did not watch. Worst customer service ever. I changed my password but I will never go to sling again.
After starting the "free trial" and realizing the quality was horrible and I was watching more commercials than the scheduled programs I canceled the trial. Days later I was charged $55 for a service I canceled before the renewal was supposed to take place. They refuse to refund my money and informed me that I should have canceled at least one more day sooner to insure they did their job and canceled it in time... even though it's automated. I won't be doing business with these con artist again.
I have had sling for months and DVR never worked. I Have contacted customer support a number of times and no help. They say there sending to Tech Support but I found Tech support never notifies you when it is corrected or that there working on it. And to date the DVR still don't work. Both on teh TV and Computer.

Grrrrr... this company does not care one bit about their clients. Cancelled on the 7th day as I wanted to test it out, still got charged the monthly fee. Was going to possibly get about 20-30 accounts for vacation rentals I own but not after dealing with their awful CS. Bad move Sling...
This service sucks. It's extremely unreliable and half the time I can't even watch the shows I've recorded, frequently giving and error message and "please try again later." From what I've read from others, the customer service is abysmal. Will definitely be canceling this to try out Hulu' s new tv service.
Update since cancelling: I canceled at the beginning of December and mid January I was charged again. Upon looking at the account, it showed my account was somehow active again. I contacted customer support and they requested my original cancellation email and said they would refund me for the past two months (which was a surprise as most people say they won't issue refunds) So customer service was better than expected but still would not recommend subscribing to this service.
Horrible, only use if you are on a limited budget. You will experience alot of freeze & black screens, cutoffs, delays& very limited dvr of only 50 hours. Customer Service is now not live and stinks. No refunds or credit offered or given for the drops or poor service.No international component. Does not work in other countries I've traveled too. Just absolutely sucks. I spoken from my heart and customer. I only liked it for the history channel.

Says WIFI is off(LIARS),if it's not on why can I go straight to Max, Hulu, Netflix etc and my brother is watching YOU TUBE in this room. It takes 15 minutes to get on and you repeat the same episodes in a row. One X-files repeated TWICE back to back. I have never got to watch the end of a show. Because it repeats. I'd rather pay 72$ for HULU. You guys suck!

Sling TV is a good idea to give former cable customers a reasonable option to enjoy the most-preferred channels, but it is poorly executed, with the inability to record programs on certain channels, sports contests that exceed their time allotment cut off prematurely at the top of the hour, 5 seconds of frozen air at the top and bottom of every hour, and outages without being willing to give customers credits. Most consumers want to purchase their channels a la carte, and while Sling has gotten closer to that than cable ever did, its business model is ultimately flawed once media production companies start selling subscriptions directly. Until then, viewers shouldn't have to put up with Sling's poor execution of service.

I cancelled my 7-day free trial on the 7th day but they say it needed to be done by 4:08 pm (who comes up with this?) and I called at 7:00 pm. So they charged me 34.99 for 3 hours of service! They refused to reverse it even at the supervisory level. BAD policy and BAD customer service. DO NOT SIGN UP for this service.
TV is decent but their policies are awful. They will draft your account monthly without any notifications. I'm fairly certain I canceled my account then realized months later had been being charged. Called and while I told them I cancelled and they could see i had not used the service they would still not refund my money. They said i would have to provide the six month old email they sent confirming my cancelation. I don't keep emails from six months ago and I doubt many others do. Shady business practices. Anywhere legit would send an email every time your account was drafted.
6 days and counting to restore service.
Was told of large backlog causing delay.
Was told it was ok to switch to HULU by customer support representatives if i can't wait till billing gets their stuff together.

I normally do not write reviews, but this I can not let go. Please do not sign up for company they keep charging my account and refuse to refund. I have tried to cancel this subscription but the charges keep coming out. The customer service is terrible and the streaming sucks.
