In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
Tried this for the 7 day free trial and did not like it so I cancelled my Subscription and they continued to charge me for 3 months of service. Then they would only refund one month! Absolutely a scam. Never use them!
Sling attracts customers with false promises... it says once you have Sony Liv u will have access to all exclusive web originals on the channel... however that is not true... they take that away post 1 week... i am damn sure if had taken one of their expensive packages they would have come back... these guys are liars and scammers... i can only pray they go in losses.

Sling offers channels I get back home and costs less than installing cable for my roku tv. However it consistently buffers, doesn't allow me to rewind or fast forward, and exits out completely while I'm still watching. Please fix your damn bugs and give me what I paid for!
I recently downloaded the app and worked through connection issues with their rep. Upon connecting the streaming was very choppy. The rep said he thought that might be an issue given our bandwidth. We agreed there was no solution until our town gets higher speed broadband service. I asked to cancel, and he said no problem, except I would still be billed for a month of unusable service. He helpfully referred me to their feedback section which cheerfully told me how pleased they were to respond to my issue. Pleased, but useless. The bottom line is they would rather screw you for one month and lose you as a long-term customer. I'll never go back, and my advice is avoid them like the plague.
Ok so I'm an old confused man. Signed up for sling orange, turns out I needed blue. Easy fix right? Not with sling! So I'm out 40.00 and they say they can't fix it. Should have gone with you tube

Even with all the spotty signals, Sling has found a way to offer you a more troublesome experience. Sling recently changed their channel lineup guide and now it's far more difficult and time consuming to see what's on and what's coming on at a later time. It's obvious that some so-called graphics person decided on what looked good to them rather than what may make the consumer viewing experience better. It's so bad, that after 4 years of being on Sling, I will be moving my business elsewhere very soon. If you have the choice, look for something else.
This service is terrible. It often goes into a spooling mode that sometimes won't clear for severs hours Loading the service is at times like pulling teeth. Often it takes 2 or 3 attempts to get past the sling logo. When commercial comes on often you have coax it back to show by switching to a different channel for about 60 seconds then try to re-establish your desired channel
I have experience the same channel replaying a show I just finished watching. There is also a problem with consistent audio. The audio will time out and the come back on which is totally distracting and watchers lose cohesion of the show. I will cancel this service in the next day or so.
My 12 year old son set up an account using CC info stored in my wife's computer. We were billed for 8 months before we realized what was happening. Sling acknowledged that the account was only ever accessed ONE TIME and yet they refuse to give any refund. I only asked for the last three months, but they didn't even offer a one month refund. Now I am in a dispute process through my bank. Terribly rude customer service agents and supervisors. I had to call back a second time and it took them almost 30 minutes to locate the account.
Signed up for a trial, cancelled it an hour later and they billed me for the next 5 months until I caught it.
Never logged in, never watched 1 minute of Sling TV.
Company response: "Sorry about that" (and no refunds).
Cancelled my subscription 2 times and still got charged for services I can not use. They refused a refund and told me it will be cancelled at the end of billing date. Now I just paid $40 for something I can't even use. Complete BS! Never going threw them again!
Horrible, and it's not my connection. Netflix, Discovery plus, Hulu, prime video and YouTube all do just fine with playback and pause. For some reason Sling just cannot get their hands on whatever platform tech their competitors have. For example I tape NBA games. I pause it to get a bite to eat and sling apparently doesn't know how to bookmark where I left off and when I press play again it jumps to live ruining my game and and defeating the purpose of DVR. This happens routinely. Pause and playback work perfectly fine on the previously mentioned streaming platforms. I'm ready and actively looking for a better alternative. I've been too patient for six years with sling and they still can't get their sh$? Together.
Sling never worked, so I cancelled. Apparently, cancelling is rather sketchy because one of their FAQs is about being billed after cancelling. Talked to a supervisor in customer support and found out refunds are not something Sling does. So, irresponsible company with a product that needs specific requirements, buggy billing software, and a no refunds for lack of service policy.

1) Don't.
2) If it doesn't work, cancel and follow up with customer service because their billing software is buggy.
3) Verify again the next day that they didn't charge you because they don't give refunds and don't verify their product works and keep no records on customers accessing their product.

I used Sling a long time ago when it was a standalone program, but since they caved to Microsoft pressure to become a built-in "Windows App", it has become horrible. Terrible. Bad developers and bad decisions make me turn towards other avenues for content. They are actively harming the industry with their mediocrity.
Channels are great, especially NFL Red Zone, NFL Network. There is a glitch however, between every single show on every single channel, which causes Sling to miss the end of one show, and the beginning of the next. Contacted them many times, and they are aware. They simply do not fix the issue. Sling sucks because the have way too many small technical issues. Another example, DVR, constantly stops pulling your recordings. Contact them, they fix it, same things next day. I'm done for good.
After chatting with a representative for over 30 minutes, they finally told me that unless you live in Nevada or California, they will refuse to delete your account, and will essentially hold on to all of your data forever.
If you Don't like paying for commercials then you'd be better off paying for a full channel provider- Certain commercials in between shows are oddly twice as loud as Everything else that leaves scrambling looking for the remote so your neighbors & roommates won't freak out! Serious issue if you watch tv for background noise* 1 star duck commercials!

I took the bait only to find out that I was lied too. Read the small print. In order to get local tv you need to buy a hd antenna that they will gladly sell you. What a scam. A streaming service that wants you to install an Antenna. No money back ever. Even if you used it for only one day.

When you sign up the website works perfectly. When you go to downgrade or cancel your subscription it suddenly stops working. Button press won't do anything! Only way to do that is to wait on their chat for 15-20 minutes and then chat with rude agents.

Need a regional channel for sports... It was listed in media info but not offered after i signed up. They said "yea but we're negotiating with them".
And I did a pre-pay offer and they won't let me out. Never again Sling. Can't wait to get out.
I gotten Sling TV on December 25,2023 after ask to get it. When I had gotten it there were movies from decades ago past shows from 5+ years ago and I wanted to cancel immediately. Sling sucks! I Am Warning you all, do not get Sling TV! Get it at your own risk.

Really only got this service to watch MNF. Almost to a fault, the game cuts in the middle of action to a stream of commercials. Total waist of time, money and frustration. Recording rarely works, you pause and it freezes, have to restart. A number of times it stops as it thinks I am streaming on another device (I use Chromecast from my iphone). Not worth the hassle. Cancelled, will not be back.
I signed up on 9/17 and decided to can cancel on 9/20. Logged into my bank account and notice they have already charged 2 months worth of services. Talk to them to get a refund and they refuse. I disputed with my bank and they are refunding my money but it was such a waste of time and head ache. Stay away from these guys. The 7 days free trial is very misleading.
Wake up ready to watch college football to find out ESPN had dropped Sling. Sling's customer service is non existent at this time. You cannot talk to a human and the website does not let you change the package. A total failure.
