In literally 2 minutes, had a $19.99 replacement for my $120/mo cable. I don't like TV anymore, but Sling satisfies my wife's habit while she continues to quit too. Looked into 'long-range' digital antennas, but they're better suited for flatland folks.
I spent a lot of time on their site. I signed up to get locals as I am rural and antenna doesn't work well. After enrolling in service I find that I am required to buy an antenna to get local service. I had to go through a bunch of red tape to talk to a representative who informed me that I would have to get an airtv antenna for the local service. When I said I just signed up less than an hour ago and would like to cancel as I was basing my decision on local channels. I was told I would have to pay for the whole month regardless. I will be informing everyone of this so that others are not ripped off by a disreputable company.
I got this app to watch FIFA and most games weren't recorded and many times the games were recorded dates after the game was already played. Also, during the games the time would jump forward making me miss a lot of the game. Awful experience. Spend your money somewhere else.
It just doesn't work reliably, and their help pages don't help. We have a very-consistent 150 Mbps connection and Sling drops out regularly. When it's working, it's good, but we seem to have an issue just about every single day we use it. Sometimes the dropout goes away on its own, and other times we just have to give up watching TV. Speed tests reveal no problem when this happens, and often times we aren't even using any other bandwidth when it happens. It's just bad software imo. I constantly hope the next update will fix everything, but nothing has changed so far...
I forgot to cancel my SlingTV for the 2nd month, and they helped out with refunding it. Note that this was their first-time courtesy, so I don't know if they can do this again. Anyway, the guy was really polite and made reassured me that he was there to help me. The call probably took about 3-5 minutes which was really quick! I'm not sure about their other representatives, but mine was really great. As for the actual service, I think the pricing is still a lot for me. I only watched it for the NBA finals. There were also a lot of errors while the game was streaming.
Ive had it for a few months to give it a try. The service has slow downloads that your programs will stop every 10 mins. Its like being on the internet back in 1996 with the buffering. It also has problems streaming video to cromecast between the audio and video. Its like watching a very bad dubbed movie. Customer service will give you the run around and all kinds of excuses but with an IT background I saw the BS they where shoveling. In addition my directv, cbs, Netflix and Hulu all stream just fine. Terrible service and the customer service was no help.
Also was charged $80 for a PPV fight that myself or my husband did not make. I had assumed that my two-year-old son had accidentally made the purchase. However, after reading the previous review, I wonder if sling is engaged in shady business. They would not refund or cancel the charge, even though it was billed yesterday and the fight doesn't take place until tomorrow. I filed a complaint with my credit card company and canceled my service.
Sling buffers and freezes up during every sports event that watch. I have to reset my roku every time this happens. As a result I miss parts of my live event. There going to say it's my enternet but this only happens when I watch Sling. Netflix, Hulu YouTube never has a problem. If it were not for my wife wanting to keep it I would cancel this crap. I hate Sling
Watching the Penn State vs. Iowa football game, close game, and the Sling broadcast stops in the last few minutes! It looks like they only allocated a certain number of minutes and when the time limit was reached the broadcast was stopped! Unbelievable.
I signed up for the 7-day trial to evaluate the service. Cancelled the trial on the seventh day (Sunday to Sunday). Unfortunately, I guess Sling counts the minutes for the trial period because I cancelled a few hours too late. I noticed that when I cancelled, it said I could use the service for another 30 days. Apparently I was already charged for the next month. When I contacted customer service, I was told that they would not refund my money since I already signed in once during the trial. Even though I cancelled a few hours after the trial was p and never used the service, they were not accommodating at all. Just bad customer service. I fell for it. These free trials are just a way for these companies to get at least one month of fees out of people if they happen to forget to cancel. Never again. And shame on Sling for not refunding money for services that will not be used. They could have easily shut down my account and refunded my money.
Horrible service for football fans. They didn't have any cbs channels even though they advertise like their program is good for sports. I couldn't get a refund even though I only used it one day. 0/10
Signed up for 7-day trial. On the last day I tried to log in to cancel, but the website wasn't working. I called. I was told that my trial had expired at 2:11 that afternoon and that I'd been charged and nothing could be done about it. I then talked to a supervisor, who also said nothing could be done. Plus the service is bad. The image froze often while streaming and even went black sometimes. Friends had signed up to watch the NBA finals, but were unable to watch the first game because of an issue with ESPN3 - but there was no message on the website or on the company voice mail.
I am dissatisfied, when I visit sling app I feel like it does not really want me there. Every time I watch a partial program the app puts partial programs to finish when I return. Where is the content of new streaming programs? Hard to navigate and super clunky all arround.
I give sling 2 stars
I'm quitting Sling. Trying to watch the Australian Open and twice they have cut to advertising in the most critical times of the match. In the tie breaker of the 2nd set they went to an add at match Point! How stupid and frustrating. They could have waited 30 seconds more.
In my prior experience with Sling, it wasn't too bad. However, my recent encounter with them suggests that they have become excessively profit-driven, bombarding viewers with an overwhelming number of commercials.
During my attempt to watch just two episodes of Gold Rush, I was subjected to an astonishing 40+ COMMERCIALS. This relentless advertising onslaught almost dissuades me from watching TV altogether... It's frustrating, to say the least.
They keep all info on you and will refuse to delete it. Hackers paradise. They say they will delete CC when requested, but not account info. They don't seem to understand that its your info and no theirs to do with as they please.Maybe sell it?
I cancelled my subscription on the 23 I have email confirmation of that. On the 25 charges pop up on my bank I call and get no where. Telling me I restarted services which I didn't. I had to open a fraud case with my bank
The encyclepedia of their terms of use which is nowhere in their table of contents or site navigation, has a lot of 'we are not responsible' clauses in it.
DVR stopped 1/3 through a game. - not responsible.
Quickly tried to flip to the live channel to catch the end. Butbit actually played the DVR recording from the beginning and stopped at the same spot 1/3 through. - not responsible.
I only subscribed to watch my team and wished to cancel sine I am not getting the service I thought I paid for. Should have read the 'terms of use' that you can't find any reference nor link to - not responsible.

So I decided to take sling up on its free tv until 8/20/22. On the page where you check out it gave me the rundown on charges that will occur after the promotion. I was charged right away and did not receive any free viewing days. I immediately contacted customer service and was told I was not qualified for a promotion even though the checkout page said amount after promotion. I then asked since they took the money already can they just change the billing date for the next month, I was told no, and was hung up on by a rude customer service representative. I feel I have been scammed at this point. It's not sling tv it's scamtv. Best to stay away.

SlingTV lured me in with a $200 credit when purchased a new TV. I accidentally selected one premium package and they charged me 6 months the value of the package. I canceled right away but they don't issue refunds. This is insane because I didn't sign up for a 6 month plan and they're pitch is month to month contract. I resent this service that charges for services not rendered. This shady merchant needs to be exposed.
This has happened twice now where they start you with a menu and then take it away. The latest for everyone to know about is that the Elrey Network, effective 06/14/17 it taken away and put in "Comedy Extra" and now they want you to pay extra for it. It's basically a horror movie channel and how that gets into Comedy Extra is beyond me. It's definitely not for childred. Example, they have been playing a "Saws" marathon. You may want to look in different directions, I'm going to cancel my service.
I have been lied to on multiple instances from sling tv and their customer service is the worst. They don't have the power to fix anything and essentially tell you "too bad". I bought the AirTV player before I experienced this. Please stay away from this terrible company.
The biggest rip off I've seen. They claim their price of $50 per month is the lowest price for cable. What they don't tell you is it takes 10mb of data every time you watch It. Hulu uses 1mb. True hulu is more per month but in the long run if you watch sling every day your bill would be $1000 per month. These people should be in prison. Better yet let God deal with their deceit. Karma is a s. O. b.
I signed up for a 3 month "deal" and decided not to renew. The TV access went blank after 3 months, so I figured that was that. But Sling TV continued to bill me monthly. When I called, they said the account was automatically reinstated on the same day the 3 months was over, because I failed to call (or go online) to cancel. They should have notified me when they automatically reinstated my service dates. They should not have continued to bill me if they were not going to continue to provide the service. They said I should have read the small print... Buyer beware!
I paid for a ppv show last night. It's always been attached to our next bill, but this time, they took payment immediately. We start watching the show and not even halfway in, my partner falls asleep so we stop the show to finish it the next day, since it's always been available for 48 hours after it starts. We log into sling to finish the show, and the show is no longer available. So we paid $50 for nothing and there's no way to fix it. Truly awful. This is thievery.

Sure Sling, we've heard that line before. You can watch Fox, you can pay extra and watch sports....then you black it out? Finished with this nightmare and I'll never go back to Sling when we end it! They can say anything then take EVERYTHING off!
I paid for a service they took channels away like fs1 and 2 and didn't not compensate to give free channels a credit or anything else. They took my money. This is criminal and I am in the process of sueing them
