For as long as i can remember, spirit Halloween was one of the best places to be as a teenager out of high school on a weekend with your friends. Now that I am an adult I see things differently. The products they sell even the most expensive will last maybe 2 years tops! So if I spent 500 on a animatronic its trash in 2 years. Not only is this a environmental disaster its a money scheme. Sprit Halloween does this on purpose, it is their financial expectation and built into their business model. Spirit Halloween, it does not have to be this way! You and your executives and L1's can change this and make it great again!

I was hollered at by someone e who I thougt was a customer that I saw in the store. The female approached and wanted to see inside my bag/purse. I asked who she was and why. She said she was security-never gave a name- the store associate/manager watched from the door but didn't come out to speak to me. I showed what was inside my bag and that I hadn't taken anything- she proceeded to sayi had been identified as I there stealing that week by her manager. I told her that I had never been in the store and will never go back. She said I was lying and had been identified. IhAve never been treated so rudely

My kids costume was clearly used and dirty as all hell. The velcro has hair stuck in it and it smells like a used up ole hooker that chain smokes pal mals.
Other than that it's a great place.

Sat on the phone trying to get Spirit Halloween to help with an order they messed up, and the employee repeatedly cussed and used racial slurs. Some of her favorites were the N word (used at least 3 times), F word (which she used at least 6 or more times), Sh word (also repeatedly used), A word, and B word (used 2 or 3 times). During this time, she mentioned hoping I would "hang up" because she didn't want to "figure out the system." After which, she said, "F*** it! I can't figure this s*** out. I'm just going to hang up on her." which she did. I literally sat on hold for 20 minutes, then who knows how long waiting on her. I was nice, patient, and sat quietly despite her racial slurs and cussing. I called back, stayed on hold for 30 minutes, at which point another staff member directed me to management. I sat on hold for another 15 minutes and got another staff member. This staff member directed me to management as well, at which point the manager picked up the phone and hung up. Remind you, I was livid inside at this point, but doing everything I could to be calm so that I could simply get my money or my order. There is zero excuse for this behavior!

I spend over $100 at the store on Friday, October 18th. I believe I should have been informed that all my items would no longer be eligible for return. The $20 tutu I got was the wrong color pink for the outfit and the store or the online store does not offer the correct color pink. I wanted to return it today, Tuesday October 22nd and found out that I could only have a store credit. I asked it the credit would be good until next year and I was told "NO" Well I have everything I need and you do not offer what I needed to exchange. The tutu was not even tried on, it is still on the original hanger and has the tag still on it. How horrible is that when you can't get what you need. BUYER BEWARE!. I understand others have tried to return ripped costumes because they did not check the bag before purchase, but they are now stuck with a costume they can not wear and I am stuck with a tutu that I don't need. AGAIN, BEWARE!

I think the spirit Halloween is the best store ever! I mean once I forgot to get a Halloween costume but when I went to Party City, everything was on the floor but Spirit Halloween had a very fast line, so good that I'm here writing a review!

I ordered my costume on october 24th and the confirmation email said I would receive it on october 30th. Well It's November 3rd and I haven't received it.
I went to the store to find answers, and they have the rudest workers in the Chula Vista Store in San Diego CA. Never will buy anything again from this store. I've never seen something WORST in Customer Service. Nobody gives you answers, they just steal your money.

I purchased a costume early October 2023 and Spirit Halloween sent me a Xlarge when I ordered a medium. I immediately returned the costume. I had to pay the return shipping cost even though it was their fault for sending me the wrong size. After 3 weeks no refund received. I called customer service, and they told me I would receive the refund within 21 days. After 21 days I still hadn't received the refund. I contacted them again and I was informed there was an issue processing the refund and they would have to do it manually and it would take another 21 days. Again, no refund after 21 days. I called again end of December and I was told that the manual refund submission did not go through, and they would expediate the refund via a check. It's now Jan. 9 and I still haven't receive a check. I called again and was informed that their finance department has not yet issued the check. It's like they are hoping we will give up trying to get our refund so that they can keep our money. I have never experienced anything like with any other store. I will never purchase from this store again. Buyers beware!

Don't buy anything from them! They haven't sent my merchandise, or refunded my money! I bought a bunch of stuff from them, and they will not send it, or refund my money! This is heart breaking to me!

They sell absolute crap and will NOT exchange ar refund them. I bought a way better wig in the dollar store for $4 compared to the $22 I spent for something unwearable from Spirit.

I picked out my daughter a costume who is 11 she's a little small for her age so she wears a medium 8/10 I finally find a sales person to let us back ( she seemed annoyed) so my daughter can try on her costume she takes out the dress and leaves the leggings in the bag i said can she try the leggings on? She said no we're not allowed too I said really we've always been allowed to try on the whole costume? Very rudely she said well someone wasn't doing their job then. I'm like well that's kind of dumb since she told me their policy is no returns! What if I buy it and doesn't fit I can't return it so I'm suck with a $40 costume? I asked her can she try on the leggings outside of the dressing room over her leggings she had on again very rude she said no! So I said to my daughter let's go I'm not buying it if you can't try all of it on again with a smart remark its not my policy its company policy! Long story short I was not happy we left went right to party city where they let the kids try on the full costume we bought it with great customer service so party city it is every year for Halloween never again will I step foot in a spirit store!

Order animated zombie swinging girl online for $22o and was missing screws that this item needed. Spirits response was go to your local hardware store and buy them, what is the problem. CUSTOMER SERVICER DOES NOT EXIST AT SPIRITS!

Spirit Halloween sucks I bought a costume and tried to return not even 24 hours later and they tell me I can't return it cause it's after the 23rd or 26th that the cashier should of told me all sales are final they never told me that all they care about it getting your money like you wanna donate to this and that and do you want to round up to the next dollar but never said all sales are final never will I ever go back again and I will tell everyone not to go there do better spirit Halloween

I never leave any reviews but I am so mad with this company that I decided to make an exception. I ordered a costume for my boyfriend 9 days prior to the event. The company emailed me on the day when my order should have already arrived and said that it was canceled because they don't have the item in stock. They said they are going to remove any pending charges from my bank account and even sent me a rebate form to fill out for this inconvenience. The charge was pending for a long time then they finally removed it. Week after I notice a new charge for the same amount that was pending. I contacted the company through online chat since it was impossible to get a hold of anyone through the phone. The representative was careless and rude but he assured me that he will forward it to their support team to fix it and remove any charges. They did removed it eventually until today I see another pending charge. I had to contact their company again. I received the same careless response that they will forward this matter to their team. I asked for another email confirmation of my order cancellation and the answer was negative. I gave up and called the bank to cancel my card. The representative from my bank said that they've been trying to charge my card almost everyday for the past 3 weeks! I don't care if that was a glitch in their system but there is no excuses for the lack of professionalism that their support team showed. I will NEVER shop here again! And will tell all my friends to avoid this scam company!

Nothing on backorder, no reason not to ship.

Ordered over the phone on the 1st of the month because shipping was showing as $19.99 instead of the advertised $4.99.
I tried to used online customer service but they were concerned with where I got my coupon code and why the error occurred instead of fixing the shipping. So I successfully ordered by phone.

I received one item out of 10. I called customer service 17 days later and they said they'd contact the warehouse. I honestly thought I'd receive an email about shipment the next day. I didn't so I called back. Customer service said they were checking on it and had emailed the warehouse and was waiting for response. I asked to talk to the supervisor who restated the same but seemed less experience than the customer service rep. I said I think waiting 18 days warrants a phone call to the warehouse. When the supervisor again said I emailed them I asked for her supervisor. Never directly spoke to him but I got another notification about my order. I will never order from this place again. I just hope to get the costumes & order before the event I am sponsoring. I thought ordering 45 days ahead would do it but here I am waiting at day 18.

I just brought the slim and whoopie cushion the slim was messy/to watery and whoopie cushion did work worth a crap I'm never going back to spirit Halloween store in Burnsville center ever again if you go there... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

I went to Spirit Halloween in Oak Park Heights Minnesota on 8/23/2020 and was given a hard time because I did not have a face mask on by the manager I showed her my medical note saying I don't need to wear a mask and the manager told me how do we know that note is real she basically accused me of making a false note It's not a false note I got it from a medical doctor me and my sister had been in two other Spirit Halloween Store and they did not have a problem with me not wearing a mask and not having a note I will not be giving this Spirit Halloween store my business again.

Placed order on 10/22 and paid $12.49 for Express Shipping, which gave me a specific (Not "Estimated") delivery date of 10/25. The morning of 10/24 Fed Ex said the package would arrive by end of day on 10/27 (2 days after spirit store's delivery date).

The first support phone call I made I was on hold for over 40 minutes. The woman sent me to Fed Ex to have them hold my package to pick it up myself.

The morning of 10/27 I received a new update that the delivery wouldn't be until 10/30! Which was useless because I needed the item on 10/27. Delivery date is 5 days past what their website stated.

Calling Support gives 40 minute hold times and initially says "just stay on the line and someone will be with you shortly" - but that doesn't happen, you have to guess the right options to finally be put into queue for the long hold time. The other option is to click the "live chat" button "at the top of the page" on their website, but the livechat button isn't always available at the top of the page. You have to navigate through the site to find it. When using live chat no one comes to chat, even though it says it's online or, after putting in details, like Name & order #, it says, "Thank you your email has been sent" within the live chat window.

SUCH A PAIN THAT YOU HAVE TO CALL THE MAIN NUMBER TO ACCESS PRODUCT INFORMATION AT INDIVIDUAL STORES. THEN THEY 3 WAY YOU ON THE CALL AND STILL MANAGE TO NOT ONLY CALL THE WRONG STORE, BUT PLACE THE WRONG SIZE ON HOLD. RIDICULOUS.

Horrible customer service and predatory return policy. Employees are rude, especially on social media; merchandise is expensive especially for cheap quality. They use predatory return policy to trap and screw customers, similar to a credit card company. The sad part is they screw the parents who want to make a good Halloween day for their kids, so really they don't care about the kids since their return policies screw over families. I got screw big time and so did my son. He can't get the costume he wants in the end, since I can't return unopened accessories that cause more than the actual costume. I went in to the store as the exact predatory profiled customer, too tired to think and only cared about the happiness of my son. Didn't see the small black sign that I was supposed to read to know that the return policy is now exchanged only. There were no other signs anywhere in the store. They obviously want to catch anyone in the trap who didn't know. Like me. And I shopped there all the time, but usually wayy before the deadline. Sad that they had any deadline before halloween is here.

Be sure to be ABSOLUTELY sure you have the correct size because Spirit's policy is to cancel the ENTIRE order and reorder to fix JUST ONE item in an order with three others. Frustrating to say the least. What made it worst was the IDGAF attitude given my the "support staff".

Shop at your owe risk!

I went to the store at 7:30 pm because I had to get a costume for my son and I just got off of work and I was tired. I spent 60 dollars on a costume and it was the wrong size so I went back the next day and MATHEW THE MANAGER tells me I cant return or exchange the costume.So I go and call the store and the lady says IT IS UP TO THE MANAGER TO DECIDE so that rude person wanted me to waste my money.DO NOT GO THERE IT IS A RIP OFF!

When I went to spirit they had horrible service and I wanted to return something and I could not be cause of the stupid return policy before Halloween. NEVER GO TO SPIRIT also the prices are WAY to high.

I'm not your typical plus sized woman. I stand right at 6ft tall and I purchased the Plus sized skeleton tights and they didn't fit, stretched completely they fit a typical size large at best.

I purchased a glitter and gem makeup kit for a party only three days ago. However, when I opened the glitter gel, it was completely solid and useless. I went into the store from which I purchased, explaining the product was defective and that I'd just like to exchange it for one that was not. After speaking with two people claiming they were managers, I was refused the exchange because the product was opened--but how would I know the product was defective UNLESS I opened it?

I've managed retail before, so I understand the general return policies to be able to refund money for items that are resalable only, but this is just awful customer care and a completely absurd return/exchange policy. Not only was my product defective, but if I had to guess, it's likely other like items on the shelf are also defective and should be removed from the shelf altogether as well.

After this in-store experience, with little hope, I contacted the corporate 800-number, and I was told the same thing. The takeaway: 1) do NOT buy makeup at a Spirit Halloween EVER and 2) corporate greed wins again.

Tip for consumers:
Be weary of product quality overall when ordering online or purchasing in-store.

It is a waste of of money if your a kid (or your child) who is over the size 10-12 don't go here it doesn't have the size you want it has pretty scary things that children under 7 shouldn't see.
