For as long as i can remember, spirit Halloween was one of the best places to be as a teenager out of high school on a weekend with your friends. Now that I am an adult I see things differently. The products they sell even the most expensive will last maybe 2 years tops! So if I spent 500 on a animatronic its trash in 2 years. Not only is this a environmental disaster its a money scheme. Sprit Halloween does this on purpose, it is their financial expectation and built into their business model. Spirit Halloween, it does not have to be this way! You and your executives and L1's can change this and make it great again!

I will never do business with this company ever again I will let family and friend know I place a order online on October 5. I pay extra for fast delivery they send me a tracking number true FedX when I call FedX they told me tha they did create a label but they never send it I email them and I call them they never answer me thank you A$&@ for not sending me my son costume he was very upset today. YOU GUYS ARE THE WORST

At approximately 5:30 pm 18 October 2016, my wife and I went to this store. We started browsing the Isles starting from the entrance, in a clockwise direction around the store. As we looked at the items, I began to notice that an employee was stopping within 5 yards and moving items on the racks. At first it i thought it was was just someone stocking items in my peripherals, but when we got to the other side it had happened 5 times. With out mentioning anything at all to each other, my wife said she wanted to test something and abruptly changed directions the opposite way. Like a basketball player, the employee made a hard pivot and followed us across the store. The employee was about 5 foot 8, blonde hair in a Mohawk, glasses, probably 110lbs and potentially male "I could not make an accurate assesment". Unless it has been common for married couples expecting a child in shorts and the shirts to steall large shifty props by hiding them in a magic bag, then I can only assume that not only was he blatantly racist, but that the manager is obviously complicit in this act. No other excuse is possible for an employee to not engage in any actual work for 30 minutes.

I bought a costume for my daughter and it was too small. When I went to return it they said I couldn't return or exchange. They said it ended at midnight the night before. I was very upset

I was charged twice for one custume in oct 15th. I have been on phone, with the run around to get my 49.99 back! It is now almost end of nov. I still did not get my refund. In the process of callung and going on line i was hacked. Noone i have talked to has sent me ti sites that dissappear or they say they did not recieve my photos of reciept. Im sick of these guys. If my money us not in my acct. By dec 1st im reporting u fuys to better buisness bureau!

I bought a costume at full price and then received a coupon in the mail for 20% off one full-price item. I took the costume back to the store and asked to return it and then repurchase it with my coupon. I returned the costume within the allowable returns timeframe. But when I tried to repurchase the costume, the store manager told me it is against company policy to allow a buyer that returned a costume to use a coupon to repurchase that same costume. So I asked the lady in line behind me if she would use my credit card to purchase the costume I wanted. The store manager allowed the woman to use my credit card- the same card I used to pay for the original purchase- and I was able to walk out with the costume. This policy makes no sense to me! The manager told me she doesn't allow people to do returns and then use a coupon because they lose money... well now you've lost my business for life so you might want to rethink your policies. If Halloween night wasn't so close and my son wasn't so eager to wear the costume I bought from this store, I would've returned it and walked out. Next year I'll be shopping for costumes anywhere but Spirit.

I placed order 10/24 paid extra for the 2 day shipping order said would come 10/29. Never came. I sent email 10/30 in the am to cancel order due to not delivered. Seller responded 11/1 saying order was delivered to look around my home. Email sent again on 11/1 explaining when I ordered 10/24 i paid extra for 2 day shipping and order said it would be delivered on 10/29 and order didn't come till 11/1 and that I wanted a refund. Seller emailed back 11/2 saying they can't refund due to shipping says delivered and that I would have to file agaisnt FedEx. I Sent an email again 11/3 saying I want a refund due to I paid for 2 day shipping and their website said delivery date of 10/29 and package did not arrive until 11/1. I also filed complaint with BBB and filed a complaint with PayPal. Waiting to see if i get my $163.95 money back. I didn't even open the package up so i don't even know if its even my right items. Don't order on line if you don't have to. Check Amazon first cuz I ordered items from there then and got them the next day thank goodness.

Tip for consumers:
Shipping is horrible and they have every excuse possible not to refund. Check Amazon first can usually find the same items even sometimes cheaper and shipping is quicker and you can return and refund

Horrible customer service. If I can give this store a zero star rating I would. I ordered three items offline and was guaranteed a delivery date. When I looked a few days later the delivery date was 6 days later than what they said it would be. When I called customer service, I was hung up on after a 25 minute hold. Live Chat doesn't work. When I was able to call them and reach someone they told me that I needed to have FedEx cancel and send back the order. When I called FedEx to have the ordered cancelled and sent back to Spirt, they told me they can't do that as its a "smart order". A smart order is an order that is sent from SpiritHalloween to FedEx. FedEx then will hold onto the order for about 4 days (till they get all of their smart orders in for the week), then send it to the US postal office. Once it is their it can take up to 10 days for them to send the order out to you.
If the orders are not returned and post marked by 10/18/2019 you will not get a refund. How are you supposed to get a refund when you are not able to reach anyone?
Horrible customer service... Never order online with this company!

This was one of the worst online ordering experiences ever. I ordered a $70 costume for my daughter called "the autumn fairy". When I purchased the costume it said it came with 3 peices (the dress, headband and the wings). I received it minus the wings. When I called they told me it doesn't come with the wings and low & behold it said the same thing on the website now. Why the $#*! would I order a "fairy" costume for $70 without the wings. Who even advertises a $#*!ing fairy costume without the wings. Instead of sending me the wings or replacing my money with the shipping cost included now I have to drive 80 miles out to return this stupid $#*!ing costume and go search for a new costume for my daughter. This is extremely dissapointing and disgusting business ethic. When someone spends money at an establishment and gets rubbed the wrong way it does bad for business. Highly disgusted with this costume store. Overpriced and definitely don't get your money's worth. I definitely won't be doing business here ever again.

I arrived at approximately 11:30am in October 21st, 2019 at the store located at 1735 w Flordia at in hemet ca.
The store was nasty and the lady who was sweeping up the filth was USO's discussingly nasty dusty mop.
Looking at all of the trash and dust on the store floor it appeared that it wasn't cleaned for a month!
(Seriously!)

It did take a couple of months but guest services did give me a full refund for the damaged merchandise. It makes me so happy because we love shopping in the stores for holloween!

I ordered a cup that was not available at the store. It arrived damaged. I contacted customer service and they asked for a picture of the damage. I sent it immediately and have not heard back from them. It has been 2 months. I will never order anything on-line from this outfit.

I purchased an adult Halloween costume on Monday, Oct 14 from the SpiritHalloween store on North 72nd St in Omaha, NE. The cashier reminded me that refunds will be accepted thru Oct. 18 and exchange thru Oct 31. I returned a women's dress costume on Friday afternoon at 3pm, Oct. 15, requesting a refund to my credit card. The cashier advised that refunds were only good thru Oct 17. I showed her my receipt which clearly states that refunds would be accepted thru Oct 18 and pointed out to her that a sign behind their cash register notes that refunds are accepted thru Oct 18. She said that this policy ended at midnight on Oct. 17. I disputed this and demanded a refund. The cashier said that she would accept my refund and honor it only this one time and that she would have to play dumb to do this. I reminded her of the Oct 18 refund policy on my receipt, as well as reminded her of the sign in their stores on refunds thru Oct 18. This didn't seem to phase her. I will never purchase items again at this season store and hope that other Omaha residents follow my lead. Very disappointed in their customer service policies, and lack of education they teach their employees.

When I went to shop at Spirit Halloween I asked specifically at check out if I can return all the items I was purchasing to include my accessories if I didn't like them or want them. I was told that I could return everything as long as it's by October 19th then when I went to return 2 of the accessories I purchased only then I was informed that I could not return the items. That was complete miscommunication and poor customer service.

They held my order as a pending charge in my bank account for over a month. They sent half of my order (Halloween wig and accessory to go with costume for my 7 year old daughter) in pieces. I called after waiting for a month for the remainder of my order (the actual costume) and customer service told me it would arrive on Oct. 5th and that the funds were already taken out of my account that I didn't need to worry. They cancelled my order on Oct 12th at 3:45am PST after over a month of waiting. They lied to me and told me I had insufficient funds in my account which is not true. I proceeded to tell management the day the order was cancelled I wanted to buy the costume, I had already got my daughter very excited and I had the wig and one accessory that goes with the costume. Management told me they were all sold out and that there was nothing they could do. The whole thing seemed kind of fishy that they decided to ship my order at that time a day supposedly and had sold another one that fast. I called within a few hours of the order being cancelled.The manager seemed put out by my call and could care less about my situation. He told me I could return the items at my expense of shipping. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. My daughter is crushed and I am forced to scramble to get her another costume. The costume and accessories were no cheap, it was $104.00 in total.

I don't think I've seen something so silly...
1) I go to place an order today and select pickup... no problem. Website showed the stock at the particular location (a half hour away). Really great... HOWEVER, read on...
2) I'm about to leave the house to pick it up and realize the order never went through (later find out they canceled it with no notification).
3) I try to reorder on the website, but this time there is no option to see the stock at the location OR to even pick it up.
4) I call the help desk and they confirm that they are canceling any orders placed for pickup AND that if it doesn't go through they lock your access to purchase an order on your computer for 24 hours... all to drive people to the stores to drive down inventory. GREAT business practice!
5) The help desk can't even check on inventory... to force you into the store. Even the message prompt on the help desk automation says we can check inventory online... what in the world...

Summary: so now I have to drive a half hour just to figure out if they have what I want in stock after literally placing the order already... this place literally has a couple a of months to capitalize and they completley dropped the ball.

I have never seen worse customer service in my life. They billed my credit card twice when I bought an item. I caught it when looking at my credit card account. It was near impossible to get ahold of anyone by phone and when I did, they called my back at 11:30PM at night! They would not do anything to fix it. I physically went to the store and they would not give me a refund, even though they charged me for an item I'd never bought. An employee says that their system charges people twice sometimes and there is nothing they can do about it. They proceeded to have me talk to another manager, who was supposed to help, but did nothing. Said they could not refund me, even though THEY had charged me twice for the same item. They do not respect their customers and this seems like some kind of scam. I have never seen any customer service this appalling in my whole life. I will never shop this store again and would tell everyone else to avoid them as well. They basically stole from me, admitted it, but said they couldn't do anything to fix it. NEVER shop at this store. They have dishonest business practices.

I placed an order 3 and a half weeks before halloween for a women's mad hatter outfit. Paid $69.99 for outfit and like $30 for shipping. As halloween came closer i was losing hope but gave the benefit of the doubt. A week before halloween nothing here after i received an email saying that the status of my shipping was delayed and will be refunded for my shipping. (Pure LIE) they told me it would be there the 25th of oct by the latest. Still no sign after the 25th. 2days before halloween i rang and all i got was... "your order is out of stock" no explanation, no refund in my shipping. It is now the 23rd of november. I have emailed 5 times... no response. Messaged on facebook... no response and down $100. I will never and i mean ever order from them again. The worst customer service ive ever experienced in my life. And i never leave reviews this is my first. But i am so pissed off that this company is still running. They are an utter scam. Spend your money somewhere else, Because they are utter $#*!e.

Two years ago ( maybe last year I can't remember) when ever the new chucky doll came out that moves around... my husband ordered it at the end of June for my birthday and it showed up on Halloween day! Last year was the Excorsist animatronic and it took a month. This year for my birthday he ordered me the nightmare harvester and it's been three weeks. I'm done with spirit. Its been time and time again and when you spend so much money you really do expect it to come in under a month. I would really like to understand why they have issues with shipping? I do most of my shopping online and occasionally have a late package but this is hundreds and hundreds of dollars of year after year late packages just from Spirit. Not once have a received anything in less then a month! It's usually several! Is June your busy season? I mean from June until Halloween day is insanity! I even called for a refund and was denied saying " sorry but it's on the way" lmao no it's not on the way for four months! If anyone has any recommendations for a better company let me know because I spend entirely too much money on a company that doesn't care about customer service.

We purchase a custom at The Halloween Spirit in Elkton, MD yesterday. We were not told by employee when we try to return because the bust inseam was told that is no returns after the 28th of October. We purchased mine Custom yesterday the 29th. Tried to return it today. Would have never purchased it of there was a place to try on. Wasn't told upon purchasing it that there was the return/refund after the 38th of October. * BUYER BEWARE!

I ordered a spiderman costume for my son. Now he is heartbroken. I never received a confirmation email or tracking number but the funds are gone from my checking account. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I purchased an inflatable chicken costume online that my 9 year old really really wanted. What I received was a very small white envelope-package that contained a grey flower bouquet for a corpse bride accessory.

The status of my order says"delivered on Oct 26th" and not only was the order WRONG, but the store policy is no returns after the 23rd. The website says to go to a store for exchange but you cannot do that after the 26th. The delivery was made at 8pm and the store was closed….so now this store has my $50 for a costume I did not receive and my kid does not have a costume, so I'm going to have to pay more money to get him a costume and it will likely not be what he wants bc it's so close to Halloween.

The worst part is it's impossible to get ahold of anyone - the phones say it's a 14 hour wait to speak with a representative…this is just awful.

I just want what I paid for, and since the order was not fulfilled, and I'm forced to buy a different costume, I want my money back. This is the worst customer experience ever. I honestly wish I could give this company NEGATIVE stars.

My only complaint is that your stores are not open all year long. Please fix that! We need the in-store experience all the time!

These stores are nothing more than thieves. They sell you a packaged item with a picture of what is inside. When you open it you discover it is an unusable poorly assembled item, you cannot return it because it has been opened... when you say that is unacceptable, they brush you off, tell you to call corporate but won't give you the phone number... when I looked it up myself, I haven't been able to get a person for two days (despite alledgedly being open 24hours) and I have left a message now to have my call returned which it states will be in 4+ HOURS. The on-duty manager looked at the item and said she couldn't see how it worked either BUT that maybe it comes that way so she couldn't authorize an EXCHANGE. She wouldn't open another one of that item to see if ours was defective because then they couldn't sell that piece of gargage either... and then they even accused us of damaging said item when I wouldn't go away. We had purchased it about 10 hours earlier as part of a much larger order and wanted an exchange, not a refund.

If you like to buy unusable garbage and get heartburn arguing a losing battle with people who don't know the meaning of customer service, then by all mean shop here.
