I signed up for a really great deal called " Personal Services" website where I used my own domain. They claimed it would only be $6 a month since I'm using my own personal domain. I paid for the site usage a year ago for the full year. I got an email saying that it was time for my website to be renewed. I put my credit card in there and it just kept saying that there was something wrong with my card. Called customer service and I'm told that " AS OF MAY 1, they NO LONGER OFFER THE PLAN I WAS ON TO ANYONE AND THAT I MUST UPGRADE. " So instead of renewing at the $72 that I was prepared for they are now asking for $144 dollars from me. This company is a complete scam I had NO IDEA!

We tried square for merchant credit card processing after using paypal for the past 20 years. Started out easy and painless. Then we began processing transactions. Immediately they started flagging our reputable and repeat customers payments as fraud. It seems as if they wanted to just hold the money our customers paid for our product. They suggested that the transaction was fraud and after three days of asking for additional supporting information, they recommended that we refund our customer. The refund would take another 7-10 days. This order was for an honest customer. There was no explanation of the fraud claims. We provided documents showing that they were a repeat buyer and reputable school. No effort was made on Square's part to assist. The call center sounded like an overseas scam. Do not waste your time or effort with this company. An investigation needs to be done on the mishandling and hold of our funds.
I am a current customer of square and they make it very very difficult to receive your deposits I signed up for square to make my business grow not have to wait 2 weeks for one payment you have to answer tons and tons of questions about each one of your customers then they tell you on the phone that you only have to do it one time I've had to do it four times for One customer and I have been waiting for almost 2 weeks for a payment I can't ship my customers items I have bills to pay and can't pay them and now they're telling me I have to wait another 3 days the only reason why they make people wait so long I feel is so they can collect the interest to make more money for them why they cost all their customers money for everything else that they need they are a horrible company and their app is very hard to understand you can't get to payouts even though you have to have two apps for everything that you use and then when you have to have confirmation codes they send you the confirmation codes 20 minutes later I do not recommend them to any new business owner or older owner who would like to have processing
Square took money from our new business account. A recent new startup business. They claimed it was from a different business that was closed long ago, that was in someone else's name. It had nothing to do with us. We provided them with all the documentation they requested yet they kept trying to debit the account, costing us a lot of money in fees. We were eventually forced to close the account just to stop them from attempting to debit it. Fortunately the bank manager had been through this with customers who use Square before and sided with us.
The Square "Customer Success" team was absolutely horrific. It literally took weeks to speak to a real person. They lied to us multiple times, on recorded calls. Even telling us, more than once, that the "Recovery Team" doesn't have phones (yes, they actually said that) So, were have never been allowed to talk to anyone who knows why they are taking money.
We have, to date, spent over 40 hours trying to resolve this issue with Square. Finally, after nearly two months a real person called. He, even said that the "Recovery Team" doesn't have phones. Ridiculous!
The end result of the conversation was they still refuse to pay us back what they cost us and still insist we somehow owe them money, but they'd give us a credit and forgive us our debt.
The thing is, we DON'T owe them. Never have. Quite the opposite.
Square needs to square up with us.
I used to think Square was the best. After processing over $500,000.00 over a three year period with no charge backs, I had grown accustomed to them. They offered me Capital Advances form time to time and I was really excited about the next day deposits. All this changed last Monday (8-15-2016). For no reason I got an email from Square stating they needed to verify my business. Moreover, they would suspend all deposits until this business was verified. Thats funny I thought, we have done business ofr three years and have spoken many times on the phone. Be it as it may, I sent in what they asked, fully expecting a thank you and your all set. No response. Two day later, they re-requested the information, I tried to call them, no response. No way to contact them by phone, no response to my emails. Immediately changed processors because I can not and will not do business with a company that can not take a call. Beware of them! This is not the first time this happened to good merchants like myself. They ended up deactivating my account, which was fine by me because I already moved on. Square = F- to me. Really disappointed.
What a joke of a company. They allow you to process thousands in payments, then when you go to transfer to your account, they deactivate it. Scammers.
Scammed me for $49 and nothing but computer-generated responses. Took my money, no items received, and no customer service of no kind. Go do business with a reputable company

There is no way to actually call customer service nor chat with customer service. A robot just sends you to sign up to pay for answers instead of their being an actual customer support team! NO FREE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND I THINK I GOT SCAMMED AND WANT TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IMMEDIATELY! I am cancelling this app as soon as I get my money back. YOU SUCK SQUARE!
I had been with them about 7 plus years never had a problem. All the sudden out of the blue I received an email that they deactivated my account saying I violated terms or there was suspicious activity there was none of that! They do not say anything to you or talk to you about it they just cancel you! Thank goodness I never kept a lot of money in that account because they will freeze it and hold it after they cancel you. I would advise you to transfer the majority of your money out of there because they will freeze everything you have. There rates suck and the customer service has always been trash. I tried to call to discuss what had happened and once they deactivate you all the sudden you can't get through so they don't even allow you to talk to anyone. This could be very bad if someone had thousands of Dollars in there account. Luckily my business has been using quickbooks which is way superior and the customer service is ten fold better. I plan to put a complaint everywhere I can from the BBB and on. Before you say but I've been with them for years so was I!
Beware it is a scam. They have taken $8900. 00 of my hard earned money. But one good thing is I have good lawyers hopefully it results in a class action suit
Answer: Square is a legit company, just a deeply unethical one that will leave you out to dry if they can get away with it. And they can get away with it.
Answer: No, I can't, because they're a garbage company that can't verify my identity, even with my SSN and repeated support requests, and refuses to even look at my ID. I would love to share a success story, too bad they won't let me have one.
