Square and all of its subsidiaries are the WORST companies I have ever had the pleasure to TRY and deal with. With there is absolutely no help from them I had $800 stolen from my bank account with the cash app and the only people I could talk to at Square were completely unwilling to help me get to the right person in fact they both hung up on me! They will not let you talk to a supervisor unwilling to even pass on your contact info to the right people not even trying to a get number but just have someone contact me would have been great!
Cash app shows the same address as Square everywhere you look but noone will help they won't walk to the next office to give info. It was told to me that that was was their company policy not to help anyone at this #*******000 who was calling on or about the cash app you have to create an account for the business that just helped someone robb another person! I want nothing to do with this company cash app but I am being FORCED to create an account just to contact them this hiding of basic company info should scare the heck out of any sane person looking to any form of banking or card transactions!
Square tracks all your information when you use their services. I tried to contact them to have my information removed, but apparently the conversation was unproductive and terminated. From what I am reading this is a common tactic. They are selling and storing information and refuse all efforts to purge or delete any account information. In fact when they sent me the supposed link to remove my information, they actually wanted more information. Don't use them and I would not trust any business that uses SQUARE. The last business I went to apparently used square. I did. Not provide the business with any information including email and phone number. However to my surprise I received an email from SQUARE about my purchase. When I questioned SQUARE customer service, they stated that they do not keep information on the consumer. That is a load! How can a business that has none of my information, email or phone, send me a receipt to my email? They didn't SQUARE did! Then out right lied when questioned. I am in a different state traveling so it is not a local coincidence. The email os literally from SQUARE. SMH
I am looking to change pos systems since Quickbooks is discontinuing theirs and cant get a person from square to help with questions. All you get is a text and a link. Awful
I ordered a product took my money received email confirming purchase never received anything. I sent emails to the email address never no reply. Really sad
I can't believe pay pal has anything to do with this scaming forum I have been waiting last Saturday for my first pay. PAY PAL needs to up there game I can't believe "PayPal works with these fraudsters "
I have used Square for several years. I have had some issues intermittently but only recently had a really serious issue. I had a payment that was made to my account just disappear. I noticed it missing the following day and contacted Square. They made an offer through one of their agents to settle the matter as they were unable to find the missing payment. The offer was what I felt was very generous but they caused stress and took up a lot of my valuable time so I appreciated that they took responsibility. The words used when sending me the offer were clear. However it wasn't what they did when it came down to it. When I complained they explained it in a different manner. However the words of their agent didn't correspond to what they later claimed. So they willingly breached the agreement I entered into because they are big, wealthy and can get away with it. I will never trust square again. I am invested in a bunch of equipment and can't afford to switch immediately but I look forward to the time when I can. I considered going to court because it would be a small claims court but then I will suffer more loss of time that I can't afford at the moment. Maybe when things slow down after the holidays I will reconsider.
Literally been robbed by square. This is not right! Forcing us to do a refund on 100k transaction
We had 111k in credit card transactionsfor a sale of a vehicle we did. We provided every document we needed to squares team to prove the transaction was legitimate. To complete this they needed bank statements, purchase orders, signed credit card authorization forms. WE DID EVERYTHING! To then be told we are denied the ability to transfer the money to our LLC bank account. So then they email us and say we need to issue a refund to the customer and seek another form of payment. WE DO and then learn that square charges a refund fee for the 3.50% debited from our business account. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! THIS IS ACTUAL STEALING FROM A SMALL BUSINESS. HOW IS THERE NOT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OVER THIS.
I used their app and payment service for my part time business. The sent me a questionnaire after my customer paid. I submitted the information including my registration with my state and invoices I created on THEIR APP! Told me based on my answers they couldn't support me and HOLDING MY PAYMENTS FOR 90 DAYS! Ridiculous! Their support team was worthless in resolving
Square needs to be SHUT DOWN. They hold your funds for no reason for MONTHS, sometimes you even lose them! They close accounts randomly and block your phone number from calling and talking to support. Refuse to identify your identity because if the system says so then that's how it goes. These ppl are robots who can't even use their brain to keep you as a customer. Their responses consist of "it was the system so I don't know." You have to call from different numbers because the system blocks you for no reason, they don't respond to any emails. They lie that you'll get your funds but it isn't true. They will even hold petty $500 for over 90 days and then block you from calling them. Its embarrassing, I don't understand how they're operating and still in business! Whoever owns this should be ASHAMED. DO better, care about your customers, upgrade your system and hire and train better.
Other business owners thar I know have also gotten their account randomly shut down and square kept thousands of dollars that do not belong to them. Leaving the business owner out of the funds and with a close account not being able to run transactions. The worst part is they have no reason or excuse when you call to ask why? Money that other people worked HARD for. SQUARE is running an illegal business. They're scamming hard working small business owners and getting away with it. SHUT THESE SCAMMERS DOWN. They do not even allow you to deactivate your account. It is truly mind blowing that this place is operating still.
Square has been giving us the runaround for months in their customer service system and now they are flat out refusing to make essential amendments to our tax documents, which is absolutely unheard of for a payroll service. They claim their little department of accountants simply can't handle it, as though they are some small business and we should let them off the hook. Square is a multi-billion dollar company, they can hire enough accountants to do their job! We have to pay an outside accountant to fix the mistake so that our employee doesn't have incorrect W2s.
They also force all invoicing we do through their system to say that our "preferred payment method" is paying by credit card through Square, so that they can take a 3.9% cut of all our earnings. They didn't have a system set up to get tax credit reimbursements for emergency COVID leave when MA shut down in the Spring. Since they refuse to do amendments, they told us to illegally lie and put the paid COVID leave through now even though our staff are working again.
As long as everything is going perfectly, Square is fine. Decent platform and good price. As soon as any problem needs to be addressed, they are a garbage fire of a disaster and will sweet talk you on the customer service line and then essentially tell you to F*ck off because they're big and rich enough to ignore your needs.
Answer: Square is a legit company, just a deeply unethical one that will leave you out to dry if they can get away with it. And they can get away with it.
