Bought a brand new top of the range dual fuel cooker. I say top of the range, when I should say, their most expensive as it is clearly not top of the range compared to my last cooker. It arrived and immediately I found not one, but gas leaks from 3 of the 7 burners. Stoves refused to speak to me to remedy the problem, instead wanted to charge a call out fee to come and fix their faulty appliance. I advised I am shielding due to Coronavirus and could not have anyone in my house at the moment. They refused to even have an engineer speak to me on the phone. I pointed out I have an appliance that is leaking gas and is clearly dangerous and requested again, that all I needed was to talk to an technical member of their team, but customer services were adamant - even during Coronavirus - I have to pay first, risk my life having someone come into my house, rather than help me out. Ridiculous? Dangerous? Clearly putting profits before customer safety. I have decided to leave the cooker outside, and started a County Court Claim against them. My advice, if you want to be safe- do not buy from Stoves!
I cannot believe what this company has subjected me to over the past couple of years. Don't expect ANY help if there's an issue with your appliance, even if it's dangerous and pours out scolding steam.
The first oven to arrive had clearly been dropped in transit and the entire inside has been unseated exposing wires and insulation. I was told to use it until someone came to asses it. I didn't of course. The oven was replaced and it soon became clear there was some kind of issue with the exhaust. Our oven was blue and was experiencing significant staining due to the steam billowing out of the doors. The replaced the door covers but did not deal with the actual issue. This happened several times as the problem worsened and one 'engineer' told ne not to cook anything moist. I'm not exactly cooking buckets of water, just simple family meals. It got to the point where i felt utterly unsafe using the oven and after many, many months of trying to get this resolved and spending hours and hours (over 16 hours in total now I think and literally over 100 calls I believe) they agreed to replace the oven. This has not happened and no-one will talk to me anymore. I have been polite and patient this entire time but i have no option than to take this to solicitors. I have a family of 6 whom I cannot cook for and no resolution in sight. Neither Stoves nor Glen dimplex are signed up with the ombudsman so legal action is now my only option. I'm exhausted and very very upset at how they have no regard for the after care of customers and zero regard for our safety.
