Shipping is terrible
What was reported as a 3 day shipping end up being a 8 day shipping. A $700 phone was left on front door after 8 days with inaccurate tracking. Wal-Mart would have shipped Straight Talk phone better.
Straight talk rewards program is by far the worst, they tell you if you add another line you will receive 7000 reward points. When you try to access the reward points it says pending. After 60 days of pending the reward points disappeared. When you speak with a customer service representative they give you every excuse as to why you can't access your points.
I bought a $45 Straight Talk card three weeks ago and I guess I just gave it to them because I STILL don't have service for phone and text. I get internet but I have to restart my phone every 15 minutes!
I'm tired of calling everyday just to be told it's fixed when it's not (works until I hang up) or getting transferred or hung up on! They took my money-the know they did and they're playing games!
I know three people who have bought card and they can't use them because they aren't activated when they buy them even tho the receipt claim it is! Walmart won't refund them!
They need to go to prison!
If I could give a 0, I would. It's now Tuesday at 11:39AM and I've been on the phone with this company for a total of over 4 hours since Thursday. Not only have they not been able to figure out how to port my phone from Verizon, but they have locked up my number so I have to pay Verizon to take it back. My phone has been with the " escalation team" (what a joke) since Thursday and they're supposed to be the gurus. This company conveniently has the "escalation team" completely separated from customer support so they can only communicate via messages, from what I'm told, and they won't allow me to talk to them either. Nobody knows what they're doing and they can't find anybody that does. This is my business phone, that I've been without for 5 days and they just told me it will take the "escalation team" ANOTHER 24 to 72 hours to transfer the line, which they already told me 74 hours ago.
I signed up with this company for a cell phone line, and after eight days they terminated the account. I called them they stayed on the phone with me for over three hours without a resolution. They charged my account for the month and continued to charge my account with auto pay without my permission, I contacted them and they agreed to issue me a refund, but they never issue me my refund. They still owe me for two months they tried to tell me that they do not have my banking credit card on file, but how can they continue to charge my account seven times? This is theft, This is the worst customer service I have ever had, They are rude, and when asked to speak to a manager they would be indicated that they are highly qualified then they would hang up
The last two days, I have been on the telephone and chat line with customer service for about five hours and have gotten no answers. I was told to buy a new home base station and I did, however, when I tried to activate the service, I couldn't. I was asked for the last four digits of two numbers I had called in the last 60 days. Because their system said it was invalid, they won't verify me to activate the new home base service. I have had my home base service (7 yrs,) and cell for about (10) years. I will no longer be a Straight Talk customer.
Customer Service does not want to help with any problem. Sometime you think it would be a very simple solution, however, if they have to move in any way, they will not help. I called Customer Service to please correct my name in whatever screen they needed to in order for my name to show on caller ID.
When I make a call to a landline, my name shows up entirely different than it shows on my account with Straight Talk. Customer service told me to contact all of my landline contacts & let them know "who I am". And when I make a mobile call to someone I need to identify myself as the caller. You can't make this stupid stuff up! I called several times & "transfered to their supervisor" of which never answered.
Customer service is completely worthless. They have no clue what they are doing. If turn it off and on doesn't work, they are completely lost. Will tell you they will call you back in 15 minutes. They never call back. You have to keep calling them back and get the same run around.
More and more people are looking to cut their monthly phone bills in half! You could do the same by switching to Straight Talk!
Purchase one of Straight Talk's phones outright, purchase either the $45 Unlimited talk, text and data plan or the new $55 Unlimited talk, text and data plan... follow the easy setup instructions and start saving money! ($45 plan includes 5 GB of 4 G high speed data and then the data slows down to 3 G speed. $55 plan includes 10 GB of 4G high speed data and then slows down to 3 G speed.)
The only downside I discovered in 9 years of being a Straight Talk customer was the often poor Customer Service. (Most of the time it was easier to figure out how to fix problems myself rather than try to understand the poor English spoken by people from India, Chile or the Philippines.)
Worse customer service! I lost my phone, and could not have the line suspended. Provided all info needed including the pin. Then stated they needed more info, and kept asking me to call back. WORST SERVICE EVER! DON'T DO IT. You will regret it.
Lets start off by saying you never speak to someone that speaks clear english. I have been dealing with an issue for 2 weeks now. Going back and forth, calling everyday, getting told I would get a callback and no one calls back or if they do it rings one time and they hang up before you can answer. Somehow my daughters phone will not activate. I was told I needed new SIM card. Got new SIM card and they still can't seem to get it to activate with her phone number. Issue gets escalated over and over. They obviously don't know what they are doing. Oh and they want to verify account with passcode every time. I give the same passcode each time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. They hang up on you and never call back. They obviously don't keep records of conversations because I always have to repeat the issue. Horrible service!
Straight talk only employs indian workers. All of the call centers are in India. The workers then sell your information to illegal call centers in India. Then the illegal call centers call and email you constantly to scam you out of anything they can. If you a member of straight talk you will get scammed and have a horrible customer experience. Half of India's economy is based on taking advantage of Americans. Are government won't do anything unless it affects the federal government like social security or IRS scams.
This company has to be the worst cell phone company ever in business. Nothing but problems, customer service sucks (if you can understand their broken English), phone got stolen and all my information hacked by a ex and they wouldn't shut my phone off. All around a fuc ed company. No respect when you can reach them, and horrible coverage.
I set my son up on auto refill. When he moved out he switched to Verizon. Straight talk kept taking money out off my bank account even though we canceled. We canceled four times and they still took money. I had to cancel my CC to get it to stop. What a pain.
I got a good price on an iPhone when I opened a single line account, but less than 30 days in the phone has simply stopped working. It won't turn on, it won't charge, nothing. Straight Talk wants me to take it to an Apple store, but I don't think I should have to do this for a phone that's less than 30 days old. When I told them to cancel my account, they wanted to validate that I am who I say I am by sending me a code… To the broken phone. I can't log into the online account because they want to send a code… To the broken phone. The other option is for me to tell them the two numbers I've called most often in the last 30 days, excluding the last 72 hours. I was unable to do that, and so they advised me to call back in 15 minutes and try again. Do not waste your time and money! I had to go to my bank and dispute the charge, as Straight Talk will not give me access to my account, nor will they cancel it. Run! Run! Run!
I just bought a new straight talk iphone from Walmart. Everytime I call straight talk to add my ACP benefits to my new phone. The straight talks agent ask me a few question, then transfer my call, just for the phone to hang up everytime. I called straight talk multiple time even told them the phone keeps hanging up. Just for them to transfer me again. Then the
phone proceeds to hang up. I still haven't got my phone activated. In would recommend that consumers try a different carrier because straight talk will not help you
About a year ago i was sent a message in the mail that i would have to get a new phone as they were changing there carrier or frequency so bought a new wireless phone the one that has two antennas and for almost a year have had trouble calling out even local calls and they sent me a new chip, no difference so called them again and this makes about ten times and and was told they would send me a new unit well I got a UPS envelope in the mail and was told to send phone system back to them and they would replace it after" they got it. My Wife and myself have health problems and cannot be without a home phone and they sent in the envelope a prepaid UPS return sticker but could not tell me how long it would take to get new unit. Have a cell phone but" not calling everyone i know to tell them to call a different number or leaving it on all the time. Straight talk customer service is useless and tec support is horrible please stay away from Straight talk. DJD.
I have had them for years and the only issue is sometimes the service isn't the greatest. They however have the best customer service I have ever had to deal with and it is a large part of the reason I stick with them. I have had to have malfunctioning phones replaced and when I have had issues with service plans I have had to call. Every time I am received by a very polite customer service rep who is considerate enough to let me know when he is waiting on his computer or an associate to respond rather than just leaving me on hold without a clue. As long as they continue to have decent prices and great customer service I will continue to be a customer of theirs.
I've only ever used ST. My very first phone I got for my 12th birthday was ST and with yesterday marking a decade of having it, it's been great. But anytime I've had a problem technically, the support I've received was straight garbage. At this moment, I got double charged after having a pop-up saying my payment was declined when I was attempting to upgrade my phone to a newer one. I can only hope I can get my money back after jumping through hoops with tech support for the past four hours. I think after this I'm gonna switch my service. I'm so done with this service. Happy Birthday to me I guess.
Been trying to activate a SIM card for weeks. No one answers customer service phone; you'll be put on ignore for hours on end. Chat line worthless. You get a bot that doesn't address specific issues or tries to upsell you on something. No other way to reach customer service.
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
